When I did my video on the CMMG MK47 Dissent, I loved it, but I had one issue, I wished it had a shorter barrel.
Fast forward three months, and CMMG sends me their 12.5 inch version of the MK47 Dissent in a pistol configuration with a beautiful bronze color.
Though this Mk47 dissent is more or less the exact same as the previous Mk47 in terms of. features and looks, having a shorter barrel does change how the gun shoots.
There is a little more recoil, but the gun wields so much better now.
I'll take that with the slight increase in recoil any day.

Also, it baffles me how often I've seen people try to use actual AirPods as hearing protection on the range.
Airpods are not designed to protect your ears from the decibel levels of gunshots.

I sold guns and this is true, they were constantly reinvesting in their company too, every new generation was noticeably better with more house made parts. A lot of the medium sized companies were like that.

I didn't even catch that until I saw your comment lol I guess I have an earlier model Dissent. Mine has no dust cover and a Trigger Tech 2 stage trigger.
I purchased a KS47 PSA for 800$ with 4 mags and a case. It’s one of the most fun and cool rifles I’ve ever bought!!!
Same. It's an awesome rifle for much less... "the mutant we have at home," but I definitely have concerns on longevity without a beefier, reinforced bolt. Seems they just altered an AR15 bolt vs this which is more 308ish.

Better than the sig bufferless models that’s for sure. I’d always go with a company that takes care of its customers instead of handing them a broken gun and telling them it works

It's almost as if Sig is utilizing the software model of using its users as beta testers.
Try those modified Ak mags that lock open when empty. With normal AK’s the bolt goes forward when you take out the magazine. But since this has a bolt hold, the combination might finally make the perfect AR/AK hybrid

Man as an AK fanatic, I do have to admit this platform definitely has my attention! As a former U.S. service member I do enjoy certain characteristics of the AR/ M4 platform over the AK. After watching your review I feel like this platform blends both the AK and AR/M4 platform the best out of any competitor on the market today. Have a 10" AR-47. Shoots very soft after tuning and has last shot hold open as it uses AR mags.

Niiiiice. Looks like they captured the best of both worlds (or platforms).
The Armalite setup is so comfortable, no wonder you'd take it over the AK. A last round hold open and this would be perfection. Tho 7.62 vs .300 is still a debate for me. I'd vote .300
Noir luv the channel and have started doing more research into the hardware I want to use and small add-on's, keep doing what ur doing and brush off the hatters man.

I am a total CMMG junkie -- I look at other stuff, and it looks cool, but I just keep comin' back to CMMG. They offer a great mix of options and overall value. I don't have a Dissent yet though but you did a pretty good job makin' me want one now, "thanks". lol

LRBHO mag conversions give you the "feel" of going dry but drop the bolt once one you remove the magazine - Good middle ground and works flawlessly.

Last round hold open ak mags exist, croation I think.
Not sure but I ended up with a few somehow and they work but the bolt drops when you remove the mag.
It does give the feel/sound of the shot without the bolt closing that, for me at least, signals the mag change reflex and then just cycle the bolt to chamber a round like normal on AK.
Definitely makes transitioning from AR ergos/habits to AK ergos/habits.
I own the Banshee MK47 12.5in and love it.

I don't want to be that guy, but would be great with a 8.5" barrel. 7.62x39 allows a really short barrel with minimal velocity loss. Great round for a sub 10" barrel.

I have 6.5" dissent mg 9mm with same brace. I love it! It's been a beast & eats everything I put in it, shoot 124& 147 hst very well. It's my truck gun & I always have it with me & it's go multiple 33 ends of 147gn hst ready & steady

And the Draco is half the price of the CMMG.

I got myself into a hydraulic buffer conversation the other day (kynshot blitzkrieg) and guys were chatting about their cmmg setups. Mostly 9mm kynshot + cmmg parts. Which led me to you. Again lol. Sweet setup. I try to stick to my budgeted ethos of only 1 weapon per category by most common ammo. I:e; 12.5” 5.56 for main weapon….12ga 590S shockwave with folding stock sbs’d for backup/tight quarter situations. And of course 9mm side arm. Never had a problem stocking up ammo for those. So, for me, it’s not worth having a bunch of .44,.45,.357…ak47 6.5 243 blah blah blah. I only have 2 arms and 1 backpack. People Bob about bugging out I see my castle as my last and only stand. But still only have 2 hands. So I’d rather have 1 gun and a pile of ammo for IT, then 40 guns with various bullets that I have to sift through and organize and scrutinize. Nope big black plastic shell with lil red missile in it = shotgun (hornady slugs) long brass= rifle (m855/m193) and short chrome= pistol (federal 147) it’s so simple even if I fall on the pile and have a seizure, when I wake up I’ll still be able to figure it out lol. Lots of mags people. Lots of mags

Copped a 14.5 and couldn't be happier. The weight is definitely there but all it does is encourage me to go harder at the gym hahaha
Only way I could imagine a last round bolt hold open is if they made a version of the Dissent designed around the Vz 58 magazine, but then it would be a niche rifle with little incentive to mass produce. The Dissent is still an amazing rifle in the end
You can treat a single stage just like a two stage. Touching it is your first stage and squeezing the tissue in your finger tip until you put enough pressure on it to make it go bang is is the second stage… it’s just more sensitive and forces you to pay even closer attention to that break

The VZ58 shoots 7.62x39 and has last round bolt hold-open. I have a MK47 in 8" barrel and love it, just order this pistol in Tungsten and it will be FUN and maybe become on of my favs!

Radiant arms lower, 7.62x39 Black rifle arms piston upper (7in or 12in) with ross defense Unimag. Last round bolt hold open every time. SHIIIIT even if you use an Anderson lower to save on cost. That combination is a lot of fun.

@@decimis7038 it feels great and I’m 5’9”! It looks so long online but once your holding it, it feels pretty natural. I was skeptical about length as well but now I’m happy I got the 16.1 instead of the 14.3.

You can get lrbho Ak mags that work great, bolt drops when mag is removed but u know ur out of ammo

You should compare this and your rifle dynamic with the PTR32P. You can either a brace on it or use an sbr version.

Time for that comparison video. I'm close to making the decision between the two.
One advantage to this type of short rifle...er, I mean pistol with a "wrist brace" (that only a very small minority of shooters use as a wrist brace) is that, being legally a pistol, it can be concealed in states where long (rifles and shotguns) guns cannot be legally concealed. Ditto for pistols that chamber shotgun rounds. While some states issue concealed WEAPON permits and might allow the permittee to conceal any legal weapon (guns, knives, swords, axes, etc etc), other states issue concealed HANDGUN permits that only allow the permittee to conceal pistols.
In addition, some of the 27 (or is it 28 now) states that allow permit-less concealed carry only allow the concealed carry of handguns, not any other weapons.
Switch that brace out with a strike duel folding adapter.
I've been looking at the Dissent in .300 Blk, in the Burnt Bronze color. It looks so nice.

Try the Korean mags. They seam kinda cheep sheet mags but they have a bult hold open follower.

SBR that might be an option for Noir, in order to get the nice stock instead of brace. Or maybe shorter rail on longer barrel. Need to whisper in CMMG ear, 223 wylde barrels and whether radial delay handguns could work...
