The 10mm round was first created as a people stopper before becoming one of the preferred rounds to protect yourself against Smokey the Bear's cousins.
But the FN 510 Tactical isn't just a bear gun.
My previous go-to 10mm handgun was the Glock 20, but I wasn't able to shoot well because it just felt like you were shooting a bus out of a 2x4.
The FN 510 Tactical is a sleek polymer-framed, striker-fired handgun chambered in 10mm with all the self-defense tactical acruchimas you could ever want.
In this video FN 510 Tactical review I go over what it looks like, the features it has, how it feels, how it shoots, whose it for, and my final thoughts.
However, as important as the finding the best 10mm handgun for self-defense is, I strongly recommend considering self-defense insurance. Protecting ourselves and our loved ones shouldn't come at the cost of our financial security.
I think USCCA is the best, which is why I work with them, and they do offer my followers special FREE bonuses to become a member with a 365-day money-back guarantee.

Lest we overlook the Glock 20 🤔
Are they range friendly
Looks like a really cool gun but as expensive as the ammo is, I couldn't afford shooting it more than once or twice a year without going broke.
not sure why you would pick a 10mm over a 454 casull or a 480 ruger which are actually capable of hunting bear
How would you compare with my Springfield Elite 10m?
I’m carry the Glock 29 .10mm but it’s not for bears it’s for Baltimore city 🤣💪🏾🐻
Same brother. 10mm is 👑
I went to Freestate and rented a Glock 20. I want a 10mm, bcuz Baltimore 😂😂😂
Yern
Lol felt you I’m rey grab this dummy
@@st911000ak 47 is better
This was my go to gun when I visited yellowstone in September, but it set me back more than $1159 with all the accessories i got for it, and I'm still picking up extra shifts to this day to pay myself back for all the money i spent on it. Still worth it.
I have carried 10mm since the Delta Elite came out many many moons ago, and can say it is serious medicine. I can still hit man sized targets at 150 yards and it zips through car sheetmetal like lightning.
I got the Sig 1911 10mm and I love it! Wish it had the rail like the elite.
I remember the Delta Elite..
Till the frame cracks lmao
The legend Jeff Cooper knew exactly what he was doing when he created the perfect caliber, the 10mm.
The original Delta Elite or the re-release? The original Colt was pretty sweet, but that was in the 80s and it was just as reliable as all the early Series-80 Colts...so not very.
Up until like 2 years ago, I thought 10mm was made up for FALLOUT. I always thought it was weird that the 10mm is usually one of the first pistols you acquire, and it stays useful for most of the game. I guess it has to do with the alternate timeline and 10mm being the thing at the time before the Fallout history diverges.
10 mm in fallout is bad. In real life its great.
I used to joke about that watching my brother play the older Fallout games: "how tf is 10mm more prevalent post-apocalypse than it is right now?" I got my first 10mm in 2010 (S&W 1006) and I couldn't find *any* ammo locally. Had to order everything online for a buck a round + shipping. Yet in Fallout, there's dozens of rounds lying in school lockers. 🤣 Ironically, flash forward to 2020 where 10mm had made a huge comeback. I was walking into local gunshops sold out of 9mm and lo and behold, 10mm was still on the shelf. I started to think Fallout might have been oddly prophetic after all...
@@lardomcfarty9866 Depends on the weapon. The 10mm lever action rifles from the point lookout DLC are some of the highest damage weapons in the game.
@@COMMANDandConquer199 backwater rifle was almost as good as Lincoln's Repeater
@@lardomcfarty9866 Given the rarity of .44 in Fallout 3, I ended up using it a lot more than Lincoln's Repeater, that's for sure.
Love how you hit on the topic of naturally pointing well and hitting with the weapon system. This is undoubtedly the most overlooked aspect of gun purchases.
agreed because my g29 is the opposite in my experience. It being a small frame doesnt help either but i still love it.
It was one 9mm bullet that passed through Platt's ('86 Miami) arm and entered his chest cavity and stopped just short of his heart. It was a non survivable wound but he managed to kill two agents (Grogan & Dove) after being hit with that round from Dove's 9mm.
Paul Harrel has a very good video on the '86 FBI Miami Firefight. There were several (ifs and buts) things that went wrong that day but what it came down to ultimately was marksmanship, a lot of shots were fired that day, shot placement is key.
Since then the FBI had tested 10mm for decades and the conclusion they came back to is that there’s still a higher probability of incapacitation with 9mm. Because P(i) is a combination of lethality as well as how likely you are to hit a target. So capacity and recoil tipped the scales in favor of the 9mm
@@Courtesyflush52No kiddin?
@@NDZ-jf8ur They still use 10mm in their submachine guns. But for handguns the ability for follow up shots is very important
@@Courtesyflush52 No kiddin?
So if that shot from Dove was a 10mm, Platt would have dropped instantly.
I bought the FN 510 Tactical about 6 months ago. The trigger is fantastic. Also I have been shooting a Glock 19 for a long time very accurately. Out of the box first few mags I out shot my G19(1200-1500 rounds through the gun) easily. Mine now has a Rugged Obsidian .45 suppressor for the range as well as a Holosun 507c optic and Surefire x300. Fantastic gun very much worth the money imo.
I went out to try both the 545 and 510 tactical based on your reviews earlier this year, and ended up purchasing both! I got the 545 in FDE and the 510 in black. They're both such a pleasure to shoot! I have to say this 510 tactical tames the recoil of spicy 10mm way better than the Glocks and Smiths I've shot in 10mm. I completely agree that it's just like the 545's recoil, but with a little snap. Thanks for your content Colion, happy shooting!
I'm interested in both. I want my next gun to be in 45. I was thinking 545 tac or fnh 545 on SA/DA. 510 also. Have you shot the sig p220? Would you recommend the 545 as my first 45?
@@drepop803 I have an FNX 45 Tactical and it is a sweet gun. Capacity is great and to me the recoil is mild. The only down side is it's a pretty big gun and has a large grip so it's not for everyone. Defiantly not a carry gun for me. I have it as a bedside gun and for range.
How's the trigger? Typical gritty nasty FN polymer trigger?
@@drepop803the 545 is my first 45 i owned but not the 1st that ive shot. and for it being a mid-ish sized, i think it tames the recoil better than the 1911 i shot and the glock.
When would you use the 510 over the 545? Any thoughts a few weeks later?
It sure has coolness for being a self defense tool. The colors pop. The size, for a larger hand, looks great. Thanks for posting.
Maybe that's an asset. If you pull something that looks super tactical, you have more chance of making an attacker think twice than if you pull out grandma's snubnose 😁 Even though both can be equally deadly.
I wish so badly that they would have made the FNX tactical in 10mm!!!! That would be sooooo sweet
Amen
Love the FNX 45T. Great gun!
Dude. My bro, this is exactly what I needed to hear about this Gun, and is what I needed to “pull the trigger” on this Purchase. It’s nice to see someone with an opinion and the experience that I can trust 100% and not have to worry about getting fed a crock of 💩. Very informative and thorough review done very in a concise manner.
It’s admirable that you can say you admittedly had some biased in your opinion, though I’ve watched you point out issues and problems with guns you’ve liked in the past, so I appreciate the honesty.
But most of all, thanks for being a real MFer and a true “Red, White, and Blue” Firearms Enthusiast. Cheers to you for working in the Legal Defense Field to help those of us who choose to defend ourselves, our loved ones, and communities by exercising our sacrosanct 2A Rights as well as the rest of our Constitutional principle liberties, enabling and to keep and bare arms. Preserving “We The People” to the imprescriptible, and indefinite “well regulated militia” granted to us all by the U.S. Constitution. 🇺🇸
I just realized that I have more FN in my collection than any other manufacturer. This was not a conscious effort. From the SCARs, PS90s, and pistols, FN just puts out a great product that is pleasing to the eye and functions great. Most importantly, FN guns seem to retain or go up in value. My FN 5.7 and 45 tactical were purchased years ago and they're still fetching the same prices. I have to agree with you on the FDE, they do put out the best looking FDEs. I too purchased the 510, BUT it was only because S&W 2.0 gave me so much issue with having to swap out springs, that I opted to just buy the 510 to make up for it. I always EDC 10mm during the cold months
I’m glad you made this video. Your first video peaked my interest in this gun and ever since I’ve been eyeing it but the 10mm labeled as a “bear gun” made me feel like I was going overkill
Man it was great meeting you today! I was picking up a new mag for my 509c lol. Keep doing great man be safe please.
@Colion Noir, My thoughts exactly on the 510 vs Glock 20. I had carried a Glock 20 for almost a decade when riding long distances on my motorcycle. If I was in a situation were I had to use a firearm while traveling it would have been around vehicles ie rest stops gas stations. I wanted a caliber that could perform well if a obstacles may have shot through. I sold the Glock and bought the FN 510 and your review was exactly mine about the gun. Great taste Sir
Bro, I was going for a g20 as my first 10mm. I've had my eyes on the fn 510 for a while. Now I want the 510.
Thanks for your review man. You sold me on purchasing this as my next toy. Salute
Thanks for another great vid Colion! I rarely talk about firearms I own but the FN 510 Tactical is quite a special gun and people need to appreciate its capabilities. It is my go to conceal carry - easily done (I'm talking shorts and a tee shirt easily done). I'm 62, 5'10", 165 lbs and in very good shape. After watching countless LE vids and seeing how INEFFECTIVE 9mm is I wanted something more...a LOT more for self defense. I came to the conclusion that if I was unfortunate enough to be involved in a self defensive shooting, well...I didn't want to be on the losing end. I conceal carry with an AIWB holster. Specifically the Tier 1 MSP Pro Series FLX holster. This is a light bearing holster and I chose to go with the Surefire X300T. The FN 510 fits PERFECTLY into this holster as do many other guns of varying calibers. It is a LIGHT BEARING holster (which simply means retention is on the weapons light and not the pistol itself). So, I carry with the 15 round mag in the pistol and use the 22 round mag in the spare mag holder that is part of this holster. I bought a 2nd 22 round mag and simply throw that in my pants pocket. So I'm carrying 15+1 and two 22 round mags totaling 60 rounds of 10mm! We never know what will be thrown at us and the last thing I want is to find myself in a self defense encounter and end up running out of ammo - game over if that happens. Remember in a lot of situations it's not just one attacking - many times it's multiple attackers. Colion was 100% correct about this being an 'easy' gun to shoot. I simply love the way this thing handles and shoots. Also, caveat emptor when buying 10mm ammo. Most of it is 'watered down' crap and is nothing more than a 40 cal. I use Underwood 155 gr Extreme Terminal Performance (XTP) Jacketed Hollow Point ammo. Velocity is 1500 FPS as opposed to a lot of weak 10mm running around 1000 FPS. This ammo yields 774 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle. That is called stopping power. I hope and pray to the good Lord above I never, never, ever have to use this beast of a set up in a self defense shooting. I am confident, though, that my set up is definitely a FAFO force multiplier. Nuff said. P.S. I also agree with Colion on the FDE- mine is FDE and is sexy as hell...LOL 2:54
I like your comment and the 10 mm is badass. I still can't get over the guys out there that say the 9 mm is "better" than any other semi auto pistol. Don't get me wrong, I carry a 9 millimeter concealed carry, along with a 380 and a 45. I open carry a 10mm, 6 inch barrel. Underwood loads as well. But 9 mm is better than everything? 😅😅😅. It's good to see you there is at least a couple people out there like yourself that have common sense.
@@danemaui8259 Thanks Dan. I appreciate your reply. Common sense seems to be an elusive trait in today's world. I can tell you I train and training with the FN 510 Tactical is simply a joy. But the bottom line, for me at least, is if I'm in a fight for my safety or my life I want as much force I can safely conceal carry should that unfortunate day ever occur. Happy shooting brother!
Good info...... love that you carry it daily!
To shoot 10mm +P on 1911, upgrade 18lb recoil spring to 24lb spring from Wolfe
How would the recoil feel after this upgrade? Comparable to the 510?
No such thing as 10mm +p
@@ryanranard5187Yep. Just "factory" 10mm and "real" 10mm.😁
No lie your first video was the reason I bought a fn 510 and I love it got my holster from fn estore my edc ever since
I have 2 10mm pistols, a Gen 4 Glock & a Springfield Ronin Elite 1911 in 10mm. Of course the 1911 with its fantastic trigger & fiber optic sights make for a much more accurate pistol, but the Glock 20 has less felt recoil, again because of the not only polymer frame, but how much wider the grip is. While the angle is a bit different, I think it actually helps with the recoil by pushing both your hands a little further down. I wouldn't get rid of either one, but also don't need another one either. But if I didn't have a 10mm, the FN is probably the one I'd get. Nice review.
I've never owned a 10mm, but this one is quite alluring for sure... gonna keep my eye out.
I shot the FN510 and liked it. But after shooting the S&W 2.0 10mm I loved it. So I went with the S&W.
Interesting - I have both the FN510 Tactical and the S&W 2.0 and now have my S&W for sale. Ergo just feels better to me on the FN, personally. I just picked up the new Sig X Ten Comp but haven't been to the range yet. Every other Sig I have feels great, so I expect I will love it as much as the others.
@@agc7582When I got my first one, I specifically got a rifle and shotgun way before a pistol because pistols are much more subjective lol.
Never shot the 510, but I carry the S&W 10mm 4.5" religiously. The thing about 10mm is that full-power loads are virtually extinct except for what Buffalo Bore makes. Even Underwood has been shown to be skimping on the powder in their loads and underperforming now. My go to load is what Liberty produces; light weight bullets but ridiculously fast producing as much energy as full-power 10mm loads (750+lbs) with nowhere near the recoil.
The s&w 10mm performance center is a thing of beauty
@@riboflavinfolate3964I carry the liberty in my s&w too, the crazy thing is that my 4.6 seems more comfortable to carry than a g19
Those steel targets sound exactly like my parents grandfather clock. Brings me back man
Love how you turn and face the camera and then proceed to hit the target 😂. Great shooting, thinking about trying 10mm now for sure.
man, for the steel to ring that loud, those things must be really smacking hard
Just got my first FN last week- got the 502 and love it!
Awesome video and critique! I really want to get this FN 510 made. I just think 10mm is great! Thanks for the video!
Great vid. Love my 509 CE. But growing up in the mountains of Pa, I still carry my S&W Mod 29-2 44 Mag.. Yea, it's big and bulky. But it's only for the walk in the woods. When I pull out that Nickel plated monster, even the bears say, "WOW, That's a beauty. I think I'll just go the other way"
My CCW is my G32. 357Sig is a stupid-people stopper & Liberty Civil Defense keeps it as light as possible.
never shot a 10mm but if it packs a better punch then 45 while adding more capacity I am all for it.
It's a lot more powerful than .45
It’s like 2x stronger than a .45 and going a lot faster
It does.
@JOSH6R80 Yep, depending on the round, it can be clocked 1500 to 2400 fps.
@@JSmith-ou3sk yeah it’s a nasty round for self defense
Thanks Colion, enjoyed watching you have fun, and your insights. 🙋♂️🙏🇺🇲👍
I can't wait to see your review of the Sig Sauer XTen Comp!
I have a Glock 10 mm I have yet to shoot. This 510 looks nice
I bought this two weeks ago and was not disappointed at all.
I absolutely love my Springfield XDM Elite 10mm, it's become my favorite carry gun, and I'm a smaller framed guy.
I just acquired this masterpiece and I love it so much it's now my edc
Once again sir you are on point. I am one of those guys as you say stand by the 45acp. I still value your opinion and I listen to you. BY THE way I have 3 glocks I'm 9mm and a 92fs 9mm and still go back to my 45acp g21 or colt 1911 the friend you have not met yet
Very professional thanks for the input and information 👍🏼
Thanks for an informative video answers my questions.
I've been debating my next pistol, and this was my top option. However, I was a little worried about the felt recoil and follow up shots. You have put my mind at ease good sir, and now I'm certain that this pistol is the one.
He talked me into the 509 tactical the 45 tactical and now I got to get this too....❤ There was a bear sighting in the neighborhood few years ago
I have loved the 10mm since it came out. I've run a lot of rounds through different 10mm throughout the years. The FN 510 Tatical is my favorite.
The light really helps out with balancing the muzzle flip.Different weight on the front makes a big difference in the balance
Thank you for a detailed review. Went to the shop to look at the FN509 only to find a rare sighting on gun counters. I just picked up the FNX 45 ( thanks to your review) and then I saw this nice piece. Welp like you said, at least a 10mm should be in my collection.
As a Gun Tech for one of Americas' largest, midwest gun retailers. (Store and on-line Retailer) I was considering up grading from my Glock 29 to the FN510. I'm grateful I went to my "go to guy," you! Great video! I'll be ordering one shortly. I shoot Buffalo Bore hard cast, to chest carry in bear country, hopefully without having to replace the recoil spring like i did with the 29 to #23. The #23 recoil spring did mellow out my 29. Always thumbs up from the 641...
Collin threw a little shade in the right direction with that ghetto bear comment, you are our favorite brother collin
I bought mine for 900.00 but they only had black. I wanted the one shown in this video, because I already have a black HK 45.
I bought this gun when I went to Yellowstone national park. It's still a perfect everyday carry. I absolutely love this fn 510 tactical.
My next pistol will be a competition 9mm, I have to own a 9mm.
great video.....I have a glock 40 gen 4 10mm and I love the power never giving it up!
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for all you do!!!
Looks like I’m gonna have to look at that one. Thank you very much!
I’m totally with you. I have a S&W M&P 10mm. It’s wonderful.
I saw your first video of this, and had to have one. I absolutely love it.
I agree100% I like black, but the FDE on these things is amazing. I opted for the same color on my Reflex
I love my SA XDME 10MM Compact 3.8.
Been having it for a year and took it to the range when I'm really bored
Great video and very informative.
Now you have to try the 510 MRD. Even better for carry!! Great review, as usual!!!
I never was into 10mm. The only one I’ve fired was the infamous FBI 1076 with their 10mm Lite pills. Didn’t really impress me that much. Nevertheless, I’m glad to see 10mm getting renewed interest with the manufacturers being out new models. Anyway, great video. Nice piece.
Got my wife this gun. She wanted a bigger power round that can hold more rounds than a 40 and 45
Did you do anything to convert from 10mm to 40?
This thing looks great. My next pistol will be in 10mm. I live in rural Colorado and want a bear gun while I’m in the mountains. This review makes me want to look at this, but I really really really want a 220 legion. The 220 is just so beautiful to me.
Great review!! I feel the same way about the FDE for the FNs. I have the 545 but will be seriously looking to invest in a 510. Thank you for doing what you do. Keep fighting the good fight!
Definitely need to get this gun for home defense. Everything on that one gun is spectacular 😎💯🔥
I love the 10mm round. I have the Glock 20 in my MCK. I literally squeeze the trigger, and it is glorious as a PCC. I fire Liberty Civil Defense rounds and it makes a huge difference in recoil management and it does big grain stuff.
I use the same ammo but in my g29, i love it
I had to sell mine, the grip is just to uncomfortable for my hand. I have a 10.mm FN 510 and xdm elite in 10.mm I love both but for the price and feel once I buy stick on grips, thw xdm is great but has more recoil, not by much though and it has to do with it not having a threaded barrel on the xdm I think more than anything else. FN makes great guns period. Never shot their rifles yet though.
Absolutely love mine 💪🏿just love the weight of that barrel, and how it balances.
Where did that bus come from right on time as he spoke about a school bus 🤣💪✅
All of the things good that you described, are exactly why I love my M&P 2.0 .45 Pro! Love all of the vids Colion, just a bit acp biased lol. Happy Thanksgiving!! 🦃
Love the FN Tactical, the only one I dont have is the 510 and I am getting it next week. Love love love my FN545 Tactical
I just bought this exact gun two days ago. Have no rounds through it. First 10MM. I have high expectations for this gun.
For hearing protection, I prefer to double up, to essentially get an extra 3-4dB of reduction. I wish there were reviews testing hearing protection like the AKT1 with over the ear protection as well.
You're going to have to do a Christmas tunes shoot, those targets are ringing!! :D
I've been looking for a vid like this!
Timberwolf has the 45 grip angle for half the price of the FN. AND all the aftermarket parts for Glock works on the Timberwolf, plus it can be fitted with the .40 super barrel in a G21 slide. If you want power, go all the way. As for bear, two brown bears have been stopped with 38spl, many stopped with 9mm and 40S&W. Love the 40S&W, but if I am going for semi auto magnum, I am going with the .40 Super.
I really enjoy your videos!!!!!!! You make good sense..
I love 10mm handguns. I also like the fact that it's also made for us leftys also. I may check this out for a bedside gun. 😊
Thank you so much I wanted to chill on my spending of guns but because of your review and video I got one on layaway now 😅😅
Great stuff!
Thx for the great info and entertainment!!
Love it
I have the sig 320 xten and love the 10mm round, ive been wanting to check out the fn 510 and im convinced i no longer want to, but need to now
Colion - a real American hero.
Thank you for that information cause G20 is a lil to bulky for my hands. love what you do and what you stand for.see you on the next one peace ✌
I have a g43x for edc and a g20 for the woods. But my g20 is also used for home defense. Great pistols
Ive had it for a few months. Love it! Whats a good holster for it? Preferably an open carry holster but a good conceal with the ability to have a light on the rails would be okay too.
Oooo that ear pro though😮
Picked up the MRD version of this last week! Shortly after sold my XDM 10mm.
I recently bought the FN 510, this thing shoots great right out of the box. This is my 3 rd 10mm,and I’m a little bit of a mechanical nerd so I put it up against my G20 with zev tech internals, KKM barrel and my XDM 10mm with powder river precision internals. For me I’m rating the FN #1 my XDm a very close #2 and G20 #3
Glad to see this. I ordered one a week ago.
My EDC. I use a phlster enigma. It is a tad large, but im able to deal with it even on my 12hr shifts.
The only 10mm that I've ever fired was a Tisas 1911 pattern that I rented at a local indoor range. I thought it was great, but I was put off by the 8 round magazine capacity in a full-size handgun. I was still able to control it surprisingly well and put most shots on target.
My favorite handgun is a Browning High Power clone (distributed by Girsan) that holds 15 round magazines of 9mm, but it makes a poor concealed carry gun. So I put a Gen 4 Glock 30 (subcompact .45 ACP that holds 10 round magazines) on layaway at my favorite gun shop to fill that role, since I've been specifically looking for one for years. Although I do have mixed feelings about Glock guns. I think most of them have poor ergonomics, especially if you're like me and have smaller hands. And their best selling point/feature is how reliable they are. I still think that new ones are typically overpriced by about $200, but that's just my observation. The reliability is what still sold it for me and I can get used to how it handles.
However, if I could afford a smaller FN model chambered in 10mm for concealed carry purposes, that would be my go to option. In my opinion, FN is the best firearms manufacturer in the world, especially for handguns. Thank you for this demonstration, Colion. The FN 510 is definitely on my radar, and I'm looking forward to finding a compact or subcompact similar to it.
I too love the 510 tactical. I actually own two revolvers chambered for the 10mm. I have several others in 10mm. I guess you could say i am a gunaholic as long as it is chambered in 10mm😊
I live in a northern free state. The 510 is my CCW/open carry choice this winter. Heavy clothed perps don’t stand a chance against the right 10MM load. Like CN says “I love this gun”. And I’m a 1911 guy.
I don’t hike much in active bear country but can tell you this….Most grizzly attacks happen so quick you don’t have any time to respond.
Shot the glock series 10mm a few years back. Been wanting a 10mm ever since
I have one of these. Had it for a month and had an OOB. I love it, I'm concerned going forward
This is my bedside, "in the car" pistol, SHTF pistol. I added a grizzly gunworks compensator to tame it a bit
Love my G29sf. G20 not so much. Hopefully CA will get a FN510 in the next year and I can check it out. Looks like a sweet shooter.
Have had both the 510 and 545. The 545 is one of the smoothest shooting pistols I have ever fired. The 510 is outstanding with 22 round capacity. In my opinion the Sig Xten has the least recoil followed by the FN, new S&W ported, and finally the Glock(which is by far has the most recoil).
Too funny. BTW, I would like to see recommended holster pairings with your reviews.
I have been carrying a SA TRP Operator in 10mm for years now. It has a light and red dot in a concelaed holster with four back up mags and it has been great. Im very partial to 1911s but i am very much biased to 10mm. It is the most versatile round you can run and i love it
I like the 4 backup mags.
@@sgtbones1837 Yeah I carry them in the Esstac 1911 mag holster. It sounds like a lot but it really isn't. I have been carrying this setup for years and it feels great. 1911s are nice to CCW because they are so thin and it doesn't print like the Glocks and Sigs do when I carried them. The four mags really don't even weigh much compared to carrying the double stack mags of other pistols. It is a great set up and the TRP is a tac driver with this trijicon rmr on it.
@@JohnDoe-zg6fn I carry my 1911 45 with 3 backup mags
@@sgtbones1837 which one do you carry
I have had a 10mm as EDC for a long, long time. Though I make other daily choices depending on what I am doing, wearing and where I will be that day. I have a few tens. My current favorite is a Smith 2.0 compact, green dot Holosun, with an Apex Action Enhancement trigger. A "funny" choice for me, normally I don't like S&W. I'm way more a Glock fanboy. None of my handguns are as they came out of the box. I never expect them to be just right. I change them until they are just right for me. Part of my bonding ritual with each one. Same thing with holsters. I like both to have a similar fit and feel. I thought everybody does this.
Initially I bought a ten so I would have something viable in the piney old woods, been charged by a bear before, didn't love it. Ten MM is a do all tool. It will do anything reasonable and do it well. Yep, it's big, true it's kinda heavy, they aren't giving 10 ammo away, Uh huh it does recoil a bit. In the end, I'm real confident my tens will " git er' done" whatever I ask of them.
I have to be concerned about MSRP. I'm not Bill Gates or Colion Noir. When I win a lottery I'm gonna buy an FN 510 and see if Colion is right in this assessment. It's a good looking gun for darn sure. Until then, I'll just have to take his word for it.
Very nice review
I also put a black RMR RDS on my 502 for the same reasons- looks fly
I’m happy with my Glock 20 gen5, had a gen4 but sold it.
The FN is a nice looking pistol though.
Nice. Very educational.
