Now you know of a new camping spot hahaha 😉 Seems like a sweet place to spend your childhood, although you gotta be tough during the winter!! ❄️ I spent a couple weeks on the Cape and it was fantastic! Thanks for watching bro
I live in Bourne. There are always cops all over Bourne during tourist season. Most of them know me and leave me alone but when I first moved here they stopped me all the time for silly things seemingly just to see what I was up to, they're definitely a bit nosy here but I haven't had any actual issues with any of them.
We all joke about Steve and how he's more paranoid than Batman and on the FBI's most wanted list. But seriously. It's amazing how easy Steve makes it look and when others try it, they get caught or draw unwanted attention

Reminds me when me and a friend camped in a 10 foot fishing boat that was a decoration in a roundabout in a Swedish equivalent to Cape Cod, Åhus, back in the 90s…
I grew up about a mile away from this rotary. I remember when the Dunkin was a Howard Johnson's and then a Bob's Big Boy. It was always a bunch of scrub pines until they landscaped it in what I think was the late 80's.
Was just in Cape Cod, drove right by that rotary. Discovered the New England Lobster Roll in a quaint old restaurant in Woods Hole. Your video is making me hungry! What amazing adventures you have! Keep em coming and stay safe!
The town cop was my son. He just sent me the video. He got a kick out of it. He said he was keeping an eye on him, but didn’t see him cross into the center.
I've driven around that rotary easily 50 times in my life. Never occurred to me to try to camp on the island part of it. LOL Double bonus points for not getting a Bourne police visit. honestly they were probably worried that it wasn't someone who was desperate. It's near a bridge and also an easy place to step into traffic. Trooper seemed pretty nice about it as well.
People take their lives at that bridge with some frequency. Walking into the center of the rotary is absolutely dangerous as that traffic is generally doing 20-30 mph and you REALLY dont want to try and stop in a rotary. Not to mention... its LITERALLY across the street from SP Bourne Barracks, doesnt take a rocket scientist to find out that Staties do pay attention to their surroundings.
It's true about the bridge, I grew up a few towns north of Cape Cod and a guy who lived in my neighborhood jumped from that bridge when his wife filed for divorce. Amazingly he didn't die but ended up paralyzed from the waist down. Having jumped, regretted it immediately and survived it he came away with an entirely different attitude on life. He went back to school and became an architect and last I heard was doing well.

I had to drop by that state police barracks for directions. They weren't happy to interact, and they didn't want to be bothered. That bridge is a nightmare during peak season, and I have spent hours waiting to cross. It was worth it. Cape cod is beautiful, especially the outer Cape.

Oh wow ! I live here and i was not expecting to see this video!! I found your channel when you kayaked in Connecticut and camped on the tiny island. Big Camping with Steve vibes and the wife and I love your channel !! Hope you enjoyed the Cape!!
To remove pine sap, use “Orange hand cleaner” mine is in the pump type container. Apply it with warm-hot water and scruby brush. Rinse and repeat… Mostly gone on the first scrub and all gone on the second scrub.
This is awesome! I’ve driven or biked by there many times and each time my goal was to get away from that crazy traffic - I never once imagined camping there! 😂
Thats the Bourne Rotary I live on Cape Cod and traffic on that bridge is non stop during summer. The only time your getting in there is under the cover of dark. MA state police have cameras all over that area. They also sit across the street all night watching tags come over.
After seeing CampingWithSteves “camping in a roundabout” video, I’ve always thought about someone doing it in the cape cod roundabout. Glad someone finally decided to do it!
Loved how adventurous you are and what a challenge, that rotary has to be one of the most busy and dangerous of all on Cape. Lived her most all my life and I wouldn't have had the guts to try it but thank goodness you made it! 😊
You are near my neck of the woods and I love that SW inspired you to camp in a rotary! However, that rotary is VERY busy with police always around because of the tourists. I was not surprised to have one come up to you and thought you were going to find a flashlight in your face after dark. :O I was also concerned about you crossing that traffic as a pedestrian! Helpful hint removing pine sap.... use hand sanitizer. Rub it in and you will be able to lift it off. It's the alcohol in it but the viscosity helps to sit on the sap to soften it. Good luck! Love your channel!
I have that rotary as my homescreen on my phone that I took from the Dunkin parking lot with my car in front of it. Now every time I see it I'm reminded somebody camped in there. That is awesome. Good for you man 🎉
the Steve roundabout camp was in my hometown.... beside a busy bowling alley/ice rink/pub complex. And his lake island camp was in a lake a few hundred feet from that roundabout
Little factoid staties (State Troopers) love to hang around that rotary. The number of accidents there is pretty high due to those who don't get how a rotary works (and the other is the share of Masshole drivers). I was amazed you made it 4-5 minutes without them showing up.
Man, 86k views and only 2.9k likes. What's wrong with people nowadays? Is it so difficult to hit that button? Wes is taking you on a camping places you either would never go yourself or could never get. Good job Wes. Pls continue doing it for the minority of us. Stay safe.
It’s a lot of work to make a video like this one, and I don’t understand why more people who take the time to watch the video don’t give it a thumbs up. Right now it is over 23K views and only 3.6K likes.
Hello Wes, you are my absolute favorite youtuber and a huge inspiration for me. In the country I live in (Germany) it is extremely difficult to camp ANYWHERE, but you have given me so many ideas and possibilities. Im only 16 yet, but when i get older, ill camp the world like you do. Cool guy.
On your way back west, should check put Kingsbury fish and wildlife area in Kingsbury Indiana. Was a old munitions factory and there are old storage bunkers and buildings still accessible.
There’s also a small island on arrowhead lake in Georgia vt, easily accessible on your kayak and it’s been a place people have camped on for years!! Great fishing, close enough to amenities and an overall beautiful place to camp!!
Holy crap, I would like to have died when the cop pulled up. You like covered yourself in butter and jumped into a lions den with all those police. You're the GOAT. Also, I agree Steve's round about was the best (and the first video I saw of his) love him. Also, when you're done on this trip, head to SoCal dude.
@AndrewMcAtee Hahaha yeah I was just trying to stay calm, thankfully everything went okay 🙏 I stay up in the Bay, but I will definitely head down to SoCal for some fun at some point. I do hope to take another road trip in the fall, so maybe then! Really appreciate your support Andrew, glad you are enjoying the adventures so much :)
Used that once plus Dawn when in middle school I accidentally sat on a pine tree stump while waiting to be picked up. Still remember it all these years later XD
Bloody hilarious. Reminded of one of our many lockdowns here in Melbourne during the Covid Carry-on. I walked to a mates place for a beer one valley over.the police helicopter was up sniffing around for someone. In the dark I bumped into half of my small town, all out doing the same thing. Magnificent. 🇦🇺👍🍺
That is probably the busiest rotary in the state. There is heavy traffic in the morning and afternoon, even during the off-season. Seeing someone walking around that rotary is very out of place, so it is noticed quickly. There is also a heavy police presence around the rotary because lots of us try to gather as much centrifugal force as possible to help launch our vehicle down MacArthur's Boulevard. The Bourne police probably cover their payroll in tickets.
@@peted2770I lol’ed at this because us folks from Mass treat rotaries as though our cars are space vehicles using the rotary like it’s a massive object in space that we can slingshot around.

Rinse and repeat…
Mostly gone on the first scrub and all gone on the second scrub.
Looking forward to your Maine episode(s), my neck of the woods
I can't wait for Maine!! It looks uniquely rugged & beautiful up there 🌲
This is awesome! I’ve driven or biked by there many times and each time my goal was to get away from that crazy traffic - I never once imagined camping there! 😂
Sleeping in a roundabout. Good one 👍
Thats the Bourne Rotary I live on Cape Cod and traffic on that bridge is non stop during summer. The only time your getting in there is under the cover of dark. MA state police have cameras all over that area. They also sit across the street all night watching tags come over.
Bae, wake up
New Wes just dropped
After seeing CampingWithSteves “camping in a roundabout” video, I’ve always thought about someone doing it in the cape cod roundabout. Glad someone finally decided to do it!
Ah, yes. The bright orange stealth sleeping bag. Straight from the school of camping with Steve. 👍
Thanks Michelle, yeah I'm glad it ended up working out!! I will give hand sanitizer/rubbing alcohol a try, thank you for the tip! 🙏
I have that rotary as my homescreen on my phone that I took from the Dunkin parking lot with my car in front of it. Now every time I see it I'm reminded somebody camped in there. That is awesome. Good for you man 🎉
Excited to see some awesome camping in da UP
I am too!! :)
the Steve roundabout camp was in my hometown.... beside a busy bowling alley/ice rink/pub complex. And his lake island camp was in a lake a few hundred feet from that roundabout
I really like this one.
Glad you enjoyed this one :)
Stay safe.
Glad you are enjoying the adventures!! I really appreciate your support. I will keep it up and stay safe :)
Cool guy.
Hello, I'm your subscriber from Indonesia, I've watched dozens of your videos, good job and thank you
@@sudirman2646 me too
So cool you are enjoying the adventures from Indonesia!! Thanks for watching :) 🇮🇩💙
underrated channel. keep on going, can't wait to see the next adventure.
Hi Wes, really enjoying your channel! if you like roundabouts you should come visit the UK we have over 26,000 of them here!!
Thanks David, glad you are enjoying the adventures! I definitely want to get out there sometime... already have some ideas in mind!! 🇬🇧🏕️
Wow dude. Amazing. God bless. Love it when you’re in NYC.
Steve would be proud, love the video, where did Ma sleep ? Haha
Thanks Kyle, her & Preston were close by :)
On your way back west, should check put Kingsbury fish and wildlife area in Kingsbury Indiana. Was a old munitions factory and there are old storage bunkers and buildings still accessible.
😂oh this is awesome!! Lobster roll and Cajun fries! Perfect. So fun. Loved this video.
Thanks Martha, glad you enjoyed this one :)
There’s also a small island on arrowhead lake in Georgia vt, easily accessible on your kayak and it’s been a place people have camped on for years!! Great fishing, close enough to amenities and an overall beautiful place to camp!!
first comment. you rock wes!
Awesome
Holy crap, I would like to have died when the cop pulled up. You like covered yourself in butter and jumped into a lions den with all those police. You're the GOAT.
Also, I agree Steve's round about was the best (and the first video I saw of his) love him.
Also, when you're done on this trip, head to SoCal dude.
@davidmurray6387 You're fast!! Thanks, David :)
Olive oil and paper towel quickly takes sap off of anything. I use it constantly on my dogs. Cool video in a place I know very well!
Used that once plus Dawn when in middle school I accidentally sat on a pine tree stump while waiting to be picked up. Still remember it all these years later XD
I added a label in google maps at the roundabout that says Camping with Wes! I'm just waiting for google to accept it.
Hahaha that's fun, thanks bro!!
You weren't even crossing in risky ways... why can't people just mind their own business
There's a reason they are called " Massholes "
Cuz Karen has to make your life miserable to validate
That is probably the busiest rotary in the state. There is heavy traffic in the morning and afternoon, even during the off-season. Seeing someone walking around that rotary is very out of place, so it is noticed quickly. There is also a heavy police presence around the rotary because lots of us try to gather as much centrifugal force as possible to help launch our vehicle down MacArthur's Boulevard. The Bourne police probably cover their payroll in tickets.
So many Karen's... so little time!
@@peted2770I lol’ed at this because us folks from Mass treat rotaries as though our cars are space vehicles using the rotary like it’s a massive object in space that we can slingshot around.
