My step-grandpa was a green beret I believe he had to survive in the jungle by himself for a long time. He ended up dying from some disease he got there awhile ago

If they plan on staying close to home this would work great. With a few more items you can make it safe if nuke goes off. If you have a farm with 40 or more hector or acres you can build a root cellar with toilet and a sink. With enough room a family of five could survive for longer than one year.

As it is heavier than air, normaly some holes in the floor are sufficient so it can "flow" outside. But in earth holes it will accumulate and finally drown the occupant.
And that is what being a Man is about! Knowing how to take care of himself and a family if times were like that again. "Imagine maybe having to live like that again nowadays"! You did a fantastic job young Man ❤ the great thing is that you can keep camping in your cabin until it falls apart, maybe 🤔. You can cook sausage there for years to come!
Those logs in the roof look pretty heavy. I hope the much thinner cross members are up to the task of supporting that weight. But it is a really nice structure.
How unlikely would it be to go to the woods and find a half sliced wood like he is using?? I respect the patience to wait till those timber looked liked it was abandoned!
But what do you do WHEN IT RAINS ? .... You essentially got a big pit style bathtub. That's going to fill with water. AND IT'S GOING TO RAIN SOONER OR LATER. Got to have some kind of drainage systems.
or just a roof that will keep the water out having bark shingles would be the best bet or something else solid and like bark and angling it to where it slids off far enough to the sides so your ground around it doesnt get muddy and seep in

Honestly feels like a death trap to me and I am no hater I love these kinds of builds in general. I would of had much smaller/lighter logs going left to right instead personally just for safety sake and no large logs on top.

Wow, all that in 20 minutes, plus dinner too. I couldn't have cut down the first tree in 20 minutes! (Just kidding about the time lapse video). That is remarkably smart and resourceful use of available materials.
Great idea to build a stealth shelter like that. Considering all the work it would be interesting to see how it works with rain. Would it be good to dig an ever deeper hole and fill it with pebbles so that the water can drain out instead of having a bathtub laid out with clay soil which is half full of water? for a start it is perfect and what an incredible job. for the exhaust pipe if you have a thick bush just near by (at best a kind of needle tree) you might get away from detecting the smoke easily you could even disguise your metal tube with some wooden bark at some point. I am sure it took you several days to complete your work. Chapeau!
No way, because the moldy wood and tons of bugs will take that grave style place very quick and when ever a starving bear takes a sniff of the food, they will find it and open it easily ! Cheers !

You can see that those saw cuts were done a long time ago, probably by the loggers who felled the tree to aid decomposition
I found out that these trees were cut sometime in 2004
