I agree and not to knock anyone that does all the work to put up video's BUT some you tubers digress and start to ramble on about irreverent things. Have you noticed this also? Also One other thing. The so called back ground music is some times too loud and you can't hear the narration! And the AI sucks and the "flow" or enunciation and "meter" is jenky!! Agggghhh

If they plan on staying close to home this would work great. With a few more items you can make it safe if nuke goes off. If you have a farm with 40 or more hector or acres you can build a root cellar with toilet and a sink. With enough room a family of five could survive for longer than one year.

I had to give it a three for the fact that without ventilation the fireplace would just act as a vacuum, and you probably wouldn’t wake up if you fell asleep in it, especially during a storm or in the snow. Looks cool, but that’s about it really.

theres air enough in that shelter.
its not hermetically sealed, theres plenty of draught.
the fire isnt exactly a furnace.
theres a hole at the bottom (the door) it would provide ample oxygen.
maybe in very very heavy snow all holes are sealed but i think its fine.
Although its true im no expert.🤫

If you had an option to reinforce those 3 beams to nmaybe 6, you could cover the whole logs with 30cm sand on top and you'd have an (almost) perfect nuclear shelter! Great work, very inspiring indeed!! Thanks for sharing - Jason

great job. just a bit scary regarding carbonmonoxide (CO). All earth holes have this problem, if your fire is not burning 100% correct, there is noway the CO can escape. As it is heavier than air, normaly some holes in the floor are sufficient so it can "flow" outside. But in earth holes it will accumulate and finally drown the occupant.

We only have pine forests and mixed forest. Full of spiders and mosquitos. The ground is full of roots, bugs and ants. Also full of germans, danes, dutchies every summer.

9:28 Notice how the gaps have blackened, but when he exposes the fresh wood, it is rich brown. This shows that those cuts were made a long time ago, and have been exposed to moisture and air and mold and have turned black. Nothing wrong with this. It's just something I noticed.

@@gabriel-i4o4v I've been hearing Republicans talking about the end of the world for nearly 4 decades. It gets old. I think it's a "the stock market is going to crash" strategy. Yes, the stock market will eventually crash, and then the people who said it was going to crash since the last recession are finally right, whereas before that they were so wrong that they missed out bigly. Fortune tellers do this too. They tout their hits and brush their misses under the rug.
So make a case. Why, as opposed to 30 years ago, is the world now closer to _THE END???_ Talk sense or don't bother. Frankly, I think if it does happen like that it will be because of a GRB or something, a thing which most people don't see coming and don't take seriously until it's too late. I'm looking at the scientific illiterates here....
