  • Some of my viewers asked to show them how to remove the XP LITE rear tire. This was my first time trying something like this but should be fairly straightforward for you DIYers once you give it a watch.

    Like others said on their videos, the street tires make a huge difference. I put the Ralson desert camo tires on mine and went from 19.7 top speed to 21.5. much smoother ride overall too.

    I can't understand why Lectric doesn't put out a video on this for PROPER steps to both remove the wheel and then to put it back on with the proper chain tension. With all the XP Lite eBike they sold, its unreal that they have no service video on this procedure. I've emailed them requesting such a video bur never got a reply and so I'm not holding my breath.

    Thanx Chris!! Trial and error of course but it’s on! Old age and patience definitely played its part,long ago I could swap out tires on a 10 speed in the blink of an eye 😂

    Oh yeah 😎? Bought the front and rear racks. Disconnected both front and rear lights (rather stiff & hard to do). Used Dialectric Silicone Grease (Walmart, Amazon, automotive store?) A lot easier to reconnect and dielectric Silicone grease protects the bare wire connection.

    I found that the front wheel nuts are 15mm and the rear are 18mm. 19mm on the rear wheel nuts was too loose on my bike.
    Also wanted to add (and the reason I watched this video) is that unplugging the motor is simply a matter of pulling the two ends apart. Disconnecting is not covered in the instruction manual, in fact, I couldn't find anything on how to change the rear tire in the manual, and I was a bit anxious to simply pull on an electrical connection. However, indeed, that is how it is done. It takes an uncomfortable amount of effort to pull them apart, too.

      I replaced my tires with street tires, too, and found that the Chaoyang originals on my bike were scary thin. Absolutely no sidewall support and very light. My wife's bike comes in today and one of the very first things I'm going to do is put on a safer tire.

    If I just need to tighten the chain, do I just loosen the axle nuts on each side, tighten the 10 mm nuts, and then re-tighten the axle nuts, is that correct? Would I need to do anything with the brake caliper?

      You will have to adjust the brake caliper if you move the wheel back more than a couple of millimeters, otherwise the caliper may rub on the rim of the brake disc.

    have you found a aftermarket battery for the lite yet? I want to go with something 10ah or higher. do you happen to know the dimensions of the lite battery? I have been looking on Aliexpress and all i really find is Xp 2.0 batteries. they comes in 36V and 48V. I dont know why they comes in 36V when the stock battery is even 48V

      @@ArtsyMike so there’s no need to remove it, it will remain once you deflate. After a few years it will likely dry up.

    The single one thing I was looking for and the video just jumps right over it. So when putting the wheel back... what sequence do the various washers go? Specifically the one on the brake side with the notch built into it. I watched the entire video and right when you get to the most relevant part... you skip past it. seriously

    • @ChrisCrossed
      @ChrisCrossed  Рік тому

      the washers with the notch go on the inside of frame, you screw on those nuts, dont tighten until you get the main axle nut on. One you get all the nuts in place tighten down the notch washers paying attention to the wheel alignment. I had trouble getting the wheel to line up. Once you do then tighten the axle nuts.
