I was immediately drawn to this video because I had that Double Pack and tried to play Reshef after beating The Sacred Cards and I thought I was missing something because of the massive jump in difficulty. Needless to say it was impossible back then and I'm sure I would still find it impossible now, so it was cool to see the rest of the game for the first time. Thanks for that, the vid was hilarious. That Statue of Easter Island edit caught me so off guard, I showed a friend and we're still laughing about it. Good stuff, man c:
I remember at the time Splatoon came out and people were doing 🗿memes in the game so that influenced me at the time. If I had the double pack as a kid I'd feel like I would think I missed a point where I was supposed to bring over my cards from SC. That would have been a great addition for the double pack honestly
I don't know how I haven't run across this channel before, but this review has everything I want. It's long, it's detailed, it's f*cking hilarious. Subbed, and going to binge the shit out of this channel
I didn't think anyone would remember Reshed and Sacred Cards, god bless you for making me go through the biggest nostalgia trip of my entire life with this video; lol all of the best and frustrating memories of childhood came pouring right back into my head in these 2 hours, you got a sub in me. Your memes and formatting are absolutely hilarious, keep up the fantastic work bro! Would love to see more yugioh stuff!
After 1 week I finally finished the video. I'd always start it but then get busy with friends, or with family stuff and never could finish this video until today. I only know about this game from Pikasprey playing it and it was so fun watching him play, but it was such a loong series. Thats where you came in and shortened the entire game down to two hours of excellent explaining, excellent humor, excellent editing, and excellent gameplay. This is the first video I've seen of your channel, but it will not be the last! So glad you covered this game. GG with the final boss
Happy to see you here. I know this video is a lot lmao. It's as long as a movie. But that goes to show just how much content is actually in this game. I don't think a 30 minute or even hour synopsis would do this game justice. It's a lot of mixed feelings about this game but I did my best to point out the good in the cesspool of horrendous difficulty
I remember having the double pack and never beating either game because for some reason I thought having final destination was a good card in my deck and would brick immediately and I would loose. Kick ass Vid as always man.❤
Love your content some of the highest quality stuff on the platform hands down. Just wanted to show some appreciation for what I imagine is an insane amount of hard work pumping these videos out
Watched this whole video on one setting. Probably the best time I had in ages on UA-cam… from commentary, content, humor, music choices, ect! Felt like I went on an adventure and learned alot about YuGiOh games and other things related. I love how detailed you were .Thank you so much for this video! It is amazing!
Been super sick this week and binge watching a ton of UA-cam.. This video randomly got recommended to me and it was probably the best thing I've seen all week! Loved everything about it, the sense of style/humor, the way that you really *got* Yu-Gi-Oh, the level of detail and heart you put into this video is awesome too. Time to watch everything else on your channel. Keep the awesome videos coming!!! ^ _ ^
I remember I got this game for my tenth birthday. Friend offered it to me as a gift. Played it and realized why he was so willing to hand it off to me.
Sacred cards was such a cakewalk that hey overcorected with Reshef i dont know if i could have beaten it without abusing the deathrattle effects of darkflare knight & phoenix Ra by discarding them from the hand (since you can just do that at any time in this one) Thanks fore this feature length review man, you are awesome!
for the Tea side mission, I'm guessing the Initials "S P" is supposed to be for the two characters who bother her. Johnny "Steps" and Nightmare "Penguin."
I just want to say how much I love this channel and these videos. Even with the length I love coming back to rewatch these videos and the editing is on point. Keep up all the amazing work!
This vid actually got me to start playing Reshef and goddamn you were not lying about how brutal this game is. One thing that's been very helpful while playing that you didn't really mention was the Duel Machine in KaibaCorp. The Expert duel gives ~1k+ cash per win, and often gives super valuable cards that can be used either as ante fodder or just to sell. It's super difficult, legitimately the only monster in its deck below 1900 attack is Castle of Dark Illusions, which has a massive booty and sets Yami. However, a majority of its deck is Dark, with just Vorse Raider and Gemini Elf as Fiend and Light respectively, so with some good RNG you can beat it and get loads more money than you would grinding Yugi or Mako. The game's been pretty fun so far, even with the shop adamantly refusing to sell stuff like Dark Flare Knight, Doron, Trap Master, or Amazoness Archers. Thanks for getting me to try it out and great video!
I'm not gonna lie, I completely forgot about the AI. I dueled the expert twice. Once in the beginning and I got fucked up so I wrote it off. The second time was near the end and I demolished it. I wish I had that in the grind rotation as well lol
The thumbnail got me so good I had to watch. Clicked for Anthony Mackie, stayed for a comprehensive and entertaining breakdown of a YuGiOh gba game. I have never played YuGiOh in my life.
feels good to know my videos are good enough to attract people who know nothing about ygo. I try to make my vids as understandable as possible for people who never even touched a ygo card lol. Thank you so much for giving it a chance!
Hey bro thank you for making the Reshef video to end all reshef videos, this is crazy high quality and I hope you're proud and. And I have some new music for the playlist, cheers.
Just found out about this channel and oh boy I'm gonna stay home for the entire day watching your videos lmao Me and my siblings grew on yugioh video games like forbidden memories, dice dungeon, capsule colosseum and much more!
I had no idea just how brutal the grinding is in this game holy shit, the fact you went through all that grinding is insane Gotta say though this is the best video I've seen on this game, was really informative and entertaining
I try to represent my thoughts and decisions while playing these games as best as I can. I think these games have too much going on to simply review it and call it a day
Dude I had the same experience. I played the game as a kid and only like 14 years later did I find it again via emulation and beat it. A couple of fun little tidbits: You can walk past most of those pickle duelists in the dungeon, pretty sure that wasn't intentional DO NOT discard slifer against endgame opponents. I've lost games because I discarded him to save time and they threw out monster reborn...mfers The AI is actually really predictable when it comes to who they choose to attack. Also if you get castle of dark illusions and a high-attack beater then congrats, you've almost certainly won. They'll never remember what the card was and they'll just keep swinging at it and losing monsters/LP Anyways, I hope this video takes off. You did a fantastic job
Lmaoooo i had no idea. Maybe castle is as good as ra against the cpu. no wonder the deck cost was so high. I walked past the last one after para and dox but I thought that was an optional one
You have no idea how much I loved this video Such a huge og yugioh vibe The “true” caveman yugioh cous of the type advantage and fields make it an actual fun game If possible would you do a small review for NDS trabadour not as crazy as sacred and reshelf but I would appreciate that last OG yugioh game reviews
You got it! I plan to do nightmare troubadour down the line. It was one of the first of DS games I got back then. Thank you so much for watching the video!
Your videos are keeping me sane at work currently, and they have made me really want to get back into these old games. I cannot wait for your experience of Duelist of the Roses. That is the only one I haven't played and I love your commentary and simplification of these games! Keep up the good work!

Saw this in my subscription box Decided to wait til Friday afternoon after work so I can kick back with some snacks and get ready to watch this 2 and a half hour video that I know it about to be a banger.
Thank you! I tried to do this game as much justice as I could. It's stuck in the mind of a lot of people so I had to do my best with presenting almost everything in it
didn't expect to watch a gba yugioh vid today, but two and a half hours later here i am. great video man, kept up the pacing well, great explanations, fantastic music choices, and you kept it funny throughout. watching you overcome that reshef bullshit was even cathartic for me lol. hope you keep gettin bigger, good luck in the youtube/streamin endeavors
When I played through this as a kid, I think I ended up quitting around China at the Paradox brothers. I beat Forbidden Memories as a kid without a guide, but Reshef was just too much.
Just wanted to say, Love your videos. I've been pretty burnt out with Yugioh, even after playing the Championship Games. I had heard about Sacred Cards and Reshef before but never really knew how different they were. Honestly, your video made me try out Reshef for a breath of fresh air (Albiet using a patch to make things less grindy).
This is the most comprehensive guide vid I've seen for Reshef, and the game deserves it. Only thing I'd add is the dudes at around 1:44:00 are the best place to grind. Quick duels with a decent chance for those valuable ritual monsters, as well as the bonus extra cards for each duel. Otherwise, GG on stopping Reshef from taking over the world, and good luck in the Hall ;)
The hall was pretty fun and there decks, although cheating, felt like they had a weakness. sol and reshef if so dumb because you have to duel 2 cheaters back to back 💀Thank you so much for watching the video and the comment
Missing: Today....... Narrative: They backflipped into the building and took off with Mokuba. For whatever reason, my brain heard all of that in Dave Chappelle's voice from 2004. You won this duel Gameboylad. I subscribe.
My family actually got the Sacred Cards Reshef bundle when I was a kid. I loved playing through Sacred Cards, but man Reshef kicked me and my younger brother in the teeth repeatedly. There were tons of times that we basically had to save scum until we just got lucky on the boss characters because it never occured to us to grind. We never made it past Odion and Marik because their cards were just too strong. I doubt we could have ever done those castle boss rushes, even if we put in the time to grind
It's funny how I didn't even think of grinding as a teen either, I just bashed my face against the wall until it worked 😭 to be fair the grind takes an enormous amount of time
I remember watching Pikasprey suffering through this. I thought it looked not fun then and after watching this, I can say for certain that I'm never touching this without cheat codes. If the game itself cheats, then so will I.
Over the nexus is amazing and I'm having this urge to play it again, I'm gong to check out the one that came before. Only problem is because of the game was programmed or whatever, many cards in over the nexus don't function the way they shouldn't, fusions are broken since you need to actually have the monsters on the field which breaks the flow, they work fine if you use the special fusion cards but normal poly does not work properly.
Beat the game a couple of days ago, with a lot of grinding and a lot of luck! Wish we still got Yugioh games like this. Konami has no idea how much money they’re are leaving off the table. Yugioh players would kill for another RPG like this.
This was my all time favorite GBA game growing up, glad to see a channel give it the attention of deserves with a play through that doesn’t rely on hacking and cheating for unlimited deck capacity. Your commentary was both engaging and funny! You earned a subscriber!
I bought this as a teen I think it took me 3 years to beat it. Honestly it's cathartic to hear someone else slamming their head into this brick wall. I played sacred cards after and was instantly pissed at how much more you got per duel lmao. Also I really wish we'd get another game based on Duelists of roses or another 3d strategy game based version because that was a really cool concept
@@gameboylad was a blind playthrough. Never thought to look up a guide or cheat codes. I was in elementary school at the time and only played on and off. The quality and depth of this video honestly had more passion, effort, substance, and emotions than most films and media that is roughly the same length. It's poetic that you never defeated the game originally for the difficulty dragging you out and about, and you end up defeating Sol Chevalsky through dragging out and about the duel. Except, you used strategy and patience to persevere through all odds.

Appreciate that you were able to highlight a lot of the great stuff about this game as well as the frustrating stuff.
It's funny how a lot of people who played this even had difficulty finishing it even with action replay. It took a while to make this video but I wanted to do this game justice in a way. I'm gonna miss these types of YGO games for sure from now on.
@@gameboylad same! I really miss these kinds of single player Yugioh experiences. The solo modes in legacy of the duelist/master duel just ain't it. Man Sacred Card was one of my favorite games back in the day, wish I had gotten the double pack with it
I was immediately drawn to this video because I had that Double Pack and tried to play Reshef after beating The Sacred Cards and I thought I was missing something because of the massive jump in difficulty.
Word, bro's a natural
I still have vivid memories of the end game of this game. It was ridiculous but so freaking fun.
End game in this game is a satisfying rush honestly
Man, your script and editing sent me into the stratosphere. Good shit.
thank you, I worked on the script for this vid for a long time
@@gameboylad you're welcome. It certainly comes off that way in the video!
I remember having the double pack and never beating either game because for some reason I thought having final destination was a good card in my deck and would brick immediately and I would loose.
Kick ass Vid as always man.❤
I love your edits & humor man lol. Another banger though, loved it ❤ 👊
Thank you for watching and pulling up in the comments! I always try to do my best for y'all
Love your content some of the highest quality stuff on the platform hands down. Just wanted to show some appreciation for what I imagine is an insane amount of hard work pumping these videos out
@@Nearlymint thank you so much for that 😭 every bit helps and motivates me to get the next one out
Watched this whole video on one setting.
Lmaoooo 💀
Sacred cards was such a cakewalk that hey overcorected with Reshef
i dont know if i could have beaten it without abusing the deathrattle effects of darkflare knight & phoenix Ra
by discarding them from the hand (since you can just do that at any time in this one)
Thanks fore this feature length review man, you are awesome!
10/10 content, the time and effort you spent really shines through!
for the Tea side mission, I'm guessing the Initials "S P" is supposed to be for the two characters who bother her. Johnny "Steps" and Nightmare "Penguin."
Oooh I didn't even think that lol. They who will not be named
I just want to say how much I love this channel and these videos. Even with the length I love coming back to rewatch these videos and the editing is on point. Keep up all the amazing work!
Glad you like them! Thank you for watching 🙏
Content creators like you is why I come to youtube. I'm going to watch all your videos, probably multiple times. I'm so glad I found this channel.
Comments like this make me feel on top of the world. I want to release the next vid as soon as I'm back home
Hey bro thank you for making the Reshef video to end all reshef videos, this is crazy high quality and I hope you're proud and. And I have some new music for the playlist, cheers.
Crazy to think my video on reshef is probably the best video this game ever got lol. Thanks for watching!
Just found out about this channel and oh boy I'm gonna stay home for the entire day watching your videos lmao
Me and my siblings grew on yugioh video games like forbidden memories, dice dungeon, capsule colosseum and much more!
I had no idea just how brutal the grinding is in this game holy shit, the fact you went through all that grinding is insane
Gotta say though this is the best video I've seen on this game, was really informative and entertaining
I try to represent my thoughts and decisions while playing these games as best as I can. I think these games have too much going on to simply review it and call it a day
Woohoo!!!!!
ALSO! HEARING SMT MUSIC RIGHT AT THE START LETS ME KNOW THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT!
You know I gotta represent SMT for sure!
I haven't played Yugioh in like 15 years but this video was like crack to me - you are so entertaining!
Thank you!!!
Great video. Took me a couple sittings to finish it but thoroughly enjoyed watching
Dude I had the same experience. I played the game as a kid and only like 14 years later did I find it again via emulation and beat it.
A couple of fun little tidbits:
You can walk past most of those pickle duelists in the dungeon, pretty sure that wasn't intentional
DO NOT discard slifer against endgame opponents. I've lost games because I discarded him to save time and they threw out monster reborn...mfers
The AI is actually really predictable when it comes to who they choose to attack. Also if you get castle of dark illusions and a high-attack beater then congrats, you've almost certainly won. They'll never remember what the card was and they'll just keep swinging at it and losing monsters/LP
Anyways, I hope this video takes off. You did a fantastic job
Lmaoooo i had no idea. Maybe castle is as good as ra against the cpu. no wonder the deck cost was so high. I walked past the last one after para and dox but I thought that was an optional one
You have no idea how much I loved this video
Such a huge og yugioh vibe
The “true” caveman yugioh cous of the type advantage and fields make it an actual fun game
If possible would you do a small review for NDS trabadour not as crazy as sacred and reshelf but I would appreciate that last OG yugioh game reviews
You got it! I plan to do nightmare troubadour down the line. It was one of the first of DS games I got back then. Thank you so much for watching the video!
Loved this video! It's great to see there are still people out there doing in-depth content on these old games.
Your videos are keeping me sane at work currently, and they have made me really want to get back into these old games. I cannot wait for your experience of Duelist of the Roses. That is the only one I haven't played and I love your commentary and simplification of these games! Keep up the good work!
I won't be able to do roses for a while but when I do, it'll be my biggest video
Yes dude so here for this, thanks for all the time you put into this dude, I’ll give my thoughts once I finish it haha
Dude, your videos are amazing 👏! Love these long-form video essays about the hidden gem games that I never got to play as a kid.
What an epic video, watched this slowly from time to time. Very entertaining and thank you for slogging through this game.
Your editting and humor is on point. Thanks for sharing your unique creativity~
1:39:30. La Tale Music, callin it now! Lmao! I used to play the sh!t outta that game. Great OST for long grinds.
I'm still shocked that people remember la tale 😭
The way you describe this game and your brand of humor made this a great watch while on the graveyard shift. Bless
The best part about making these is knowing I probably made someones day better while they work
@@gameboylad bro you not only made it better, you honestly sorta saved the day as last night was pretty hectic. Thanks a million
Saw this in my subscription box
Decided to wait til Friday afternoon after work so I can kick back with some snacks and get ready to watch this 2 and a half hour video that I know it about to be a banger.
Had this in the back of your mind primed and ready lol. I hope you enjoyed the video!
Video's fantastic. I said out loud "no fucking way" when you showed how you won. Very lively, and I love how you comment about your stratsm
Very informative and well put together - especially the intro
Thank you! I tried to do this game as much justice as I could. It's stuck in the mind of a lot of people so I had to do my best with presenting almost everything in it
I finally beat this game today after owning it since I was like 11. Thanks for inspiring me to pick it up again!
You love to see it
didn't expect to watch a gba yugioh vid today, but two and a half hours later here i am. great video man, kept up the pacing well, great explanations, fantastic music choices, and you kept it funny throughout. watching you overcome that reshef bullshit was even cathartic for me lol. hope you keep gettin bigger, good luck in the youtube/streamin endeavors
Wow this is a crazy video bro.Absolutely legendary
When I played through this as a kid, I think I ended up quitting around China at the Paradox brothers. I beat Forbidden Memories as a kid without a guide, but Reshef was just too much.
it was a delight to listen to man, took me back years when i beat this game too. great content man
Just wanted to say, Love your videos.
I've been pretty burnt out with Yugioh, even after playing the Championship Games. I had heard about Sacred Cards and Reshef before but never really knew how different they were. Honestly, your video made me try out Reshef for a breath of fresh air (Albiet using a patch to make things less grindy).
Dude, the music in this duel is banger after banger! Loving it, bro!
It's funny how I didn't even think of grinding as a teen either, I just bashed my face against the wall until it worked 😭 to be fair the grind takes an enormous amount of time
Appreciate all the effort you put into this! Edits are funny as hell too.
I remember watching Pikasprey suffering through this. I thought it looked not fun then and after watching this, I can say for certain that I'm never touching this without cheat codes. If the game itself cheats, then so will I.
I would love another RPG like this, the story based yugioh games are so good. they just need more reasonable grinding balance.
i hear the later WCS games were good at that but i also heard wcs 2004 was a decent game and uhhhh its no good lol
Really just more TCG RPGs in general. Stuff like the pokemon TCG games, these older YGO games, all that stuff was my jam.
@gameboylad the 5ds era were enjoyable personally, and the racing mini game was fun
@@werewolfjedi38 yea I'll vouch for reverse of aracadia and over the nexus
finally a channel talking about older yu gi oh games but in depth! I appreciate you my good sir
And you’re a black creator! Oh yeah you got my sub fasho
Beat the game a couple of days ago, with a lot of grinding and a lot of luck! Wish we still got Yugioh games like this. Konami has no idea how much money they’re are leaving off the table. Yugioh players would kill for another RPG like this.
Love your channel man! Can't wait for you to get to Forbidden Memories
Man. I'm not even a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh, but your videos have been soo entertaining that you have earned a sub anyway. Cheers man.
This was my all time favorite GBA game growing up, glad to see a channel give it the attention of deserves with a play through that doesn’t rely on hacking and cheating for unlimited deck capacity.
Your commentary was both engaging and funny! You earned a subscriber!
Thank you for watching and subbing! I hope you enjoy your stay around here
First video im seeing from your channel, well made, good prodiction and just overall a very chill vibe, you earned that sub my man
This video is a Masterpiece and you have back catalog. Definitely a new subscribe!
Great video. Even with all its flaws, it's still one of my favorite YGO games.
Hilarious video man
This is of those few times, random recommendations are just 👌
Glad you enjoyed! UA-cam is blessing other people's algorithms with my videos 🙏
Same. I was hoping the capsule monsters would be like that but it couldn't scratch that itch
Hey I just came across your video series while I was myself exploring yu gi oh games. I love your series, keep on keeping on!
Unironically took me half a decade to beat this game. Played it on and off in my childhood and was amazed at how hard it was.
I feel it would take that long on original hardware especially if it's a blind playthrough
@@gameboylad was a blind playthrough. Never thought to look up a guide or cheat codes. I was in elementary school at the time and only played on and off. I remember grinding so many Tristan matches in order to get my deck capacity and duel level up. Crazy memories and one of the hardest games I ever beat
Damn, really good vid! Love having these long videos to listen on the side while practicing chipp combos and fdc
Thanks for watching! funny enough I usually practice Zato while watching vids 💀Hope my future videos are good enough for you to listen to while you do chipp bombos.
11:08 There was a very brief time in the OCG where Mushroom Man #2 was competitively viable
I ALMOST made that joke because of ishizu tear but thought the joke would go over to many heads 😅
@@gameboyladThe funny part is that Kashtira cannot control any monsters to combo, so the mushroom already screws them over, and then it also burns for time!
@@glitchmakerygo what an odd card lmao
I have to thank the algorithm for this video. Now I've subscribed. Great stuff dude :)
Thank you so much 😭This video took a lot of effort and time to make and I'm glad people are even watching it in the first place
Definitely love this kind of long content especially yugioh. Thanks! Subscribed!
Bro I just gotta say, I think you really have something that other game review type channels don't have. I've probably watched each of your vids a half dozen times at this point, and maybe it's your voice or editing, but I'm hooked lol
Thanks! That means a lot to me honestly. I'm moving so I won't be able to upload for a bit but I'll be sure to have the next video up asap
I will never play this game, but I will watch more from you! Subbed!
i only ever knew of yugioh dark duel stories on the gameboy color. seeing theres more to the series makes me so freakin happy and nostalgic. cant wait to break my computer getting frustrated playing this!
Awesome video. Made the long workday go so much faster.
glad to hear this got you through the work day, Here's to more videos to have that same effect for you in the futture
I loved this and Sacred Cards as a kid. I was disappointed by how easy SC was, but they over-corrected super hard on the sequel. When I first played it, I had to use my Action Replay to give myself a boost to Deck Capacity and Rank just to be able to finish it, and it was still never a cake walk.
Even the single player parts of the World Championship series were more fun than what we get now.
I'd love to see another game build on the mechanics of this weird side ruleset we had for so many games
