Oh I remember being in the community for this. I had just started running the game and got like 8th best time and then gcah finished his run. Was really cool to see him route and destroy this game!
I literally just busted out the old gba sp and my copy of this game. And as I was playing I wondered if people had tried and speed run it. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised they got it down so far
Cardsoftheheart does a lot of Yugioh speedruns. He even wrote the category rules for a few speedruns. Altogether seems like a chill guy, but I haven't seen him do a run in a while.
Having a look at the speedruns leaderboards it only has 2 on the board right now and they're both in separate categories so it may be the case but no one seems to actually be running it to test it.
GCAH fully manipped Reshef multiple years before applying the same principles to Sacred Cards. The difference with manip is almost as big as Forbidden Memories. Also, I have, like, a couple dozen other things I want to do before going back to this run. I always wanted to optimize the route once I knew manipulating the entire game was reasonable in my 44:34. I got sidetracked by lots more puzzles. :P
You should do a video on Capsule Monster Coliseum. The game doesn't do a great job explaining its own mechanics and having a video about it would be interesting.
Hey, I'm on TV, mom! This game is fun to speedrun; you know the script, so to speak, and you can have a great time getting it down pat, but the real game is on when you're a frame off and have to improvise. The full-on Destiny Board route was never to my taste, but god I love that it exists; stuff like that is a technological achievement
Reshef's story is way longer but yes, RPG manipulation work in every game cause it works on probabilities. Every single decision IA makes is based on probability.

This is literally deck fixing. The game has no online system so it has no algorithm to randomize the deck if it would do it for online. In short a very basic game code.

Why does increasing deck size improve your time? Did I miss something?
You can put cards in your deck that are equal to or below your deck capacity in this game, so increasing your capacity by 100 is big
Does that capacity code also work in reshef?
