Does anyone else watch his demos just because they enjoy his musicianship?
I just enjoy watching Andy playing
HAHAHA! True Dat!
Literally. Constantly.
Anyone who plays Thin Lizzy in a product demo gets my vote.
+1. And anyone who votes for someone playing Thin Lizzy gets my vote. 👍
I’m with you 👍🍀
Same! 😎🤘🏼
Agreed
My thoughts exactly
I swear Andy is an unsung guitar hero. He can play amazingly and should do covers as a career. Can easily nail the tones. Damn he's awesome.
+James Andersen I do what I want.
+Aaron Richards lol. this made my day
Aaron Richards
Aaron Richards why you think he's got the coolest job in the world? yes, he is very good!
he probably loves this job
This man has sold more pedals than any other man in history. More than Hendrix. More than Gilmour. More than any one! And, probably more than everyone else combined.
Andy rocks!
Definitely not more than Hendrix. Every player since 1967 that ever that has played a fuzz pedal or Univibe or an Octavia is almost entirely because of Hendrix. It started wit him. But yeah no doubt Andy has sold a lot of pedals.
@@jordandangelo180 And Wha-Wha
Got me the Subdecay pedal because of him . Legend . The mother of all reviews .
someone give this guy a signature guitar pick...
Chris Aguilar He has one. It's invisible.
LOL
To hell with that.... Give him a signature guitar.
@@chrisgentry2217 His Dad is a luthier so he has a few 'signature' guitars already :)
Call it the “air pick”
This guy's demos always sell me on gear I'm interested in. I'll always watch like 10 bad demos and talk myself out of buying something then after watching his demo I talk myself back into it and usually end up happy. Maybe due to better amp EQ or recording setup but whatever it is it works. Everything just seems less muddy and clearer on the ProGuitarShopDemos. They have also made me want a Telecaster really bad, so thanks for that. At least I can live inside the cardboard box my amp came in when I cant pay rent due to having spent all my money on gear.
i think it's because they use a $1000+ Royer ribbon mic.
Apparently he is only known as “this guy” lol
He's sold me on a Supro Comet
I guess it is the reverb they use . which it is and what settings they use can not see . but they use the reverb mono. have mono reverb in addition to stereo reverb is a good way to get into the face sound and clarity.
I just got this pedal, its the best overdrive I've ever played in my life. It keeps your signal strong and has a very musical tone.
I am absolutely addicted to the tone starting at 3:57 - I think I’m gonna buy this pedal!
Yes, the clean boost of a Klone is definitely one of its best features. Thanks for watching!
Same here. I often come back to this video just to hear that part at 3:57.
Still smiling all the way through man! Gots me my Soul Food, haves me two Teles and hey, it's 1967 again in my living room. As always, thanks Andy. Kind, end of summer regards, from the west coast of Canada! ss
LOVE it ! Awesome sound, awesome demo. I haven’t heard Thin Lizzy is such a long time; I’d forgotten how good they were.
Everything Andy plays is killer, but that last song with the strat is utterly amazing! Andy is an amazing player! Rock on!🤘🏽
LOVE the Steve “The Colonel” Cropper on the intro 😊. I can imagine Elwood Blues just running in place while Joliet Jake belts out the tune.
Soul man ❤
This guy makes every pedal sound great - with him it's a tone in fingers thing
I love this pedal. It has a great range of sounds and it's easy to dial in exactly what I want. I use it all the time.
Love the Thin Lizzy you threw in there, Andy. Thanks so much for all these demos.
Best non-wampler dirt pedal in years. Love it. There's no room on my board for this but I think I'm going to buy one anyway.
You should check out Xotic SL also :)
Until Wampler released the Tumnus! You can probably squeeze it in somewhere! It's awesome and retains more low end IMO. Cheers!
Wampler sucks. Too expensive for boring pedals.
I get better sounds using the SF than the TD or any other OD I have tried. Feeding into a Plimsoul or an Angry Charlie sounds best with the SF to me.
ymmv, but I always come back to the SF.
I have this pedal and love it.
This is by far the best sounding demo of the Soul Food pedal and I have seem them all.
Nice guitar playing! I listened to it a bunch of times. Great right hand technique. Beautiful rhythm. Note for note perfect! Makes you appreciate what a great song that was. Nice. Thanks for that.
I love listening to this guy play any style it is a wonder to behold!
Been hearing great things about this pedal for years. Just finally got one, love it as a clean boost with a little dirt in that Keith Richards space. Very pleased
Andy actually makes the best demos! sounds awesome
I don't think I've been in a more feel-good mood after the first song of a PGS demo
That's cause the song is soul man!
Blues Brothers for the win! :) The tele definitely sounds the best, too!
Atacama Humanoid Blues Bros were awesome, but it was Sam & Dave's tune.
“Hold on, I’m Coming” ?
Yes, "Hold On I'm Coming" is the title track from Sam & Dave's 1966 debut album. Excellent album of Memphis soul that also has "I Take What I Want" and "You Don't Know Like I Know." You should totally check out a bunch of Sam & Dave if you're not familiar with them already.
Jailbreak! Awesome. I have totally been obsessed with that album lately.
Put one of these on my board two days ago and absolutely love it! My favourite drive despite being a quarter of the price of some of my other pedals.
I just got my pedal yesterday. This video solidifies my purchase. 👍 🎸
Got one a few months back for about $90. Playing it through a Vox and totally dig it. Great little pedal and thanks for the awesome sounding review as always.
Love the buffer/true-bypass switch. Wish more pedals had this feature.
Just curious-- where do you have the switch set and why?
thats a quick demo I did my self with the soul food...amazing pedal. love it
That last image got me..... Fried Chicken and collard greens.... Soul Food! Great demo and great sound!
Awesome tone and playing!
I'm addicted to that humbucker sound. Wow
this is the best demo of this amazing pedal i got mine today a live in Costa Rica and it is really great sounding pedal and if you running into a large pedalboard it has the plus of a great buffer.....and of course Andy´s demos are always the best
Andy, your playing is a total joy to behold! (Pretty cool pedal too hehe)
love it! sounds amazing with mad professor's little green wonder. excellent pedal mix for humbuckers.
Sweet playing! great tone.
Really good demo of a really sweet pedal. Just got mine and its... good! 👍😃
Soul man... Damn right he is!. The tone on that section was stellar
andy is such a pro at guitar and commentary!
Great playing as always Andy!
This pedal is giving me some serious GAS right now. Probably will sell off my other ODs to make room
Gorgeous guitar!
Still got mine and works super.
A great pedal. Very affordable and fun to modify too!
That G&L sounds incredible.
Andy's guitar pick ---- Nail Cutter !
I love the boost! Lots of headroom!
Love my Soul Food. Klon-schmon. Affordable and so tasty. My SG loves it, my Gretsch Country Gentleman loves it, my Danelectro U2 loves it. Can't lose with a Soul Food.
Andy is my all-time favorite gear reviewer.
I can't stop watching this video!
That's the G&L Fender line and these are great instruments Leo Fender designed before he past and left the legacy with his wife. This sounds like a great pedal I really like the Thin Lizzy sound. one of my favorite bands of all time next to Bad Company
had one of these for a week, send it back, made me sound like a wimpy... rock on
That does sound amazing but how many OD's do I need? Still if I see one at the local shop I will have to pick one up.
I saw this pedal & came here to see what Andy would make of it. I compared it to other pedals demoed on UA-cam, many also by Andy on this channel.
After a lot of time, a lot of thought, & a great deal of comparison to similar pedals, I got one.
Only been a month but it's awesome, easily one of favs. I'm considering getting another for crunchy vintage drive, since I'm using this one as both that & clean boost.
It's a great lil pedal & fits in with my EHX Nano Big Muff & my MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion as a boost or light crunchy drive sound.
An amazing lil beast of a pedal! You did a wonderful demo of it here, Andy :-)
Holy crap, amazing!!!! Great demo Andy!! Jail break!
I didnt love it when I first got it.. now I cant live without it.. It definitely a secret ingredient for me.
He makes anything sound good
You're awesome, Andy!
i run this along with an epigaze audio earthrise. its amazing! it also sounds great paired with a tubescreamer
Loving' that Jailbreak!
Thank you for this. Truly insightful, I think I'm going try the Soul Food pedal.
Nice playing, nice Tele, nice pedal and not the least, nice shirt!
It's 9:30 am on my day off and I'm in bed drinking coffee and watching Andy play some tasty licks. Thanks ProGuitarShopDemos for another great video!
Please consider updating the description to let us know what kind of amp you're running this thru.
Awesome coated awesomeness with awesome filling.
I Love to listen to this guy play. It's inspiring. It's like proof positive that it can be done well. I would like to know what amp/amps he's using for these demos.
Great pedal! Sounds awesome in front of my Orange th30, it gives just the right push to take me to a very sweet tone. Definately one of my favourite pedals, and I've tried a few...
Also (as usual) great demo!!! Andy truly rocks!!!
Great tone.
Does anybody else immediately feel the need to watch the Blues Bros?
I got one, it is good but I,m sticking with my mjm blues devil. Andy's demos are awesome!
Damnit! Now I nEeD one of these. Great Demo!!
17 People own Klon Centur's
Lol
And bought a motorcycle and upgraded their computer.
starrywalsh those things must sell for so much
I got a klon and found this pedal great hahaha
I don't know how he gets such crisp attack playing like that. I really admire him.
Best drive pedal for the money. Hands down.
Always guaranteed to be the best demo of every product! Thanks Andy! You set the standard l, Dude.
Thank you for posting this! Exactly what I need! What everyone needs!
nice review, thanks!
great review as usual 😃 may i ask what pickups u have in this Les Paul ??
Man the buffer in this is a game changer
Andy rocks !! never fails !
Sounds pretty good!!
My personal favourite drive pedal
Got a Bass Soul Drive modded with germanium diodes by Alchemy Audio. Man, it's my "always on" pedal for playing my Schecter P-bass Plus through!
I love that you played jailbreak by Thin Lizzy
I'm a little divided between this and the Jetter Helium for some Stones/ Faces/ Black Crowes tones (especially Keef and his Tele). Any reccomendations?
I like the Soul Man opener
Nice performance Andy.
Soul Man. Great choice.
Great playing
Fried chicken and collard greens. Awesome.
Eu amo esse pedal!
Thin Lizzy?! You have my thumbs up for that alone (great review too).
A great review...again.
Good guitar playing
Just got one today....Something pretty special. That Jailbreak demo was tasty...So...tasty they let out all the inmates.
Just Beautiful! What songs are played?
Awesome pedal!!!!!!
The lizzy riffs sold it to me - It's obviously a sign.
Dude looks like the guy who went to prison in half baked
FISH FISH FISH
Back off squirrel master
okay i'm buying one once the hype dies !!!
and its in stock
I think that time has come my child. Now you must go, go and get that pedal.
I'm used to the warmth of a MojoMojo for OD on a wide range of music, but I was curious about the Soul Food after hearing great things about it, so I bought one. It's great for ballsy chords and as a lead boost, but I find it too midrangey and abrasive for general rhythm work. I'll stick with the MojoMojo as my main OD pedal for that reason. Thanks for all your great reviews Andy, and it's always a pleasure listening to your guitar playing.
what amp you are using for the demo ? and how did you record the sound ?
thanks for your answer...
What's the tone difference between buffer and true?
