Hey everyone! Posted a video responding to some of these comments! Thank you to all of your for contributions! Responding to your comments | HX Stomp Looper - ua-cam.com/video/LEJ3A_mfBIw/v-deo.html
I think it's worth mentioning, if it hasn't been brought up, is your footwear could be a factor in getting things in sync for recording and playback of the looper. I've found that softer soles on my shoe or soles that have tread on them (like a sneaker) can effect your timing when you trigger the looper. A harder, flatter sole is much more dependable.
100% I just played a gig last week and messed up the loop because I was wearing thick boots and couldn't gauge the timing too well. Very good point! Thanks for mentioning that 👌
@@BillyCrabbeMusic Happy to share. Just one of those little things you might not think about till there's an issue. A wide shoe could be something to be careful of, too. Even having your Helix device on a soft carpet might be something to avoid if you can, as well.
Great tutorial. I've always just used the looper the standard way but this looks much easier. With a more gainy amp like the jtm45 you could ride the volume knob and have clean and distorted tones as well as bass
Very useful, thanks. Now I understand the Command Center! I guess I will use the HX Edit to do all this now, but it was a great way to learn how to do the looper block! Nice tune too!
This is super helpful! Apologies if this question has been asked earlier in this comments thread or I missed it in the video, but is there a way to reset the looper when you go to a new song? Or do you just stop the old loop, then start a new one like you would by pressing the second footswtich then the third one?
Hey Dan! Glad you found it helpful! Yes to create a new loop, you would just stop the playback and then hit the record button again which will start a new loop.
Great video, really clear thanks. I think it would be cool to make FS1 an undo button. Add another 2 button switch and use that for going up and down snapshots. Is that possible? Bass sound, rhythm gtr, solo gtr, ambient gtr for instance.
YES! I love this pedal. Needed to figure out the looper for song writing. This was a perfect demo! 🙏 Appreciate your help. I hope you have affiliate links…… 😉💰
Thanks for the tutorial - Very helpful. One question: I am missing the colored LEDs (stomp buttons) after customizing the Single Button Looper… is it possible to get them back? Mine are just white or clear now. Thanks!
When deleting a recorded loop, the first second or two of the loop plays audibly while the button is held down to delete the loop. Is this normal, or is there a way around that?
With this way of setting up the loop you shouldn't have to hold down a footswitch to delete the loop, so im not entirely sure about that. I'll have a look into it.
In a way I have two pedals set up for controlling the looper. It depends on what you want to do with the looper - this set up is basic and probably would require a lot of rehearsal to make sure that you get it right in a live situation. In the last video I uploaded I go over a couple different variations that give you a bit more control.
@@BillyCrabbeMusic I figured out with a double footswitch I can do the loop on stage better. More precise. The HX Stmps buttons are NOT looper friendly at all, I mean physically. And then the software sucks too. Do you need quick double step on the button to stop ur loop? Anyways, I use a Rowin nano looper, the brown edition (the blue edition needs double stomp to stop the loop), and it is much much better than the HX Stomps puts on ur desk
Hi I tried to do this but I am seeing the preset up/down and the tap tuner for FS 1,2 and 3. When I look in the preset I see the FS settings in your video. Is there a global FS setting I missed?
With the HX stomp that is a bit tricky to do cause of the limitation of the number of switches. Workaround would be to a distortion sound as your main tone and play with you guitars volume pot to clean up the sound or if you have a mini pedalboard have a separate overdrive/distortion pedal going into the HX stomp (not ideal if you are trying to travel light)
Hey! if you stop the loop and stomp on the record footswitch (the middle one in my video) you should restart a new loop. Let me know if that worked for you.
Hey man I tried this today. Total noob here. Before this , I could switch presents by pressing the stomp buttons. Now that's gone. Not a big issue. I got the looper to work, but that third foot switch stays red and says tap tuner. I can only do it once with the second foot switch and then press it again for it to start playing.
Hey hey! Yeah, I had that issue when I was setting up. You need to go into your global settings and change the FS3 assignment. I can’t remember exactly how of the top of my head. I’ll have a look on my pedal tomorrow and get back to you.
Hey, I tried creating one exactly like yours and it seems to not play anything after recording and stopping. Also, I downloaded your version to see if it was me, it still didn't work. I'm guitar straight to focusrite interface to get sound coming out to my KRK speakers.

Great tutorial! thanks
One more thing: I guess including the undo function for the third button makes more sense than using it for the octaves.

Thanks for watching! Really happy to hear you found it useful 🙏 HX edit is probably going to be a little easier to set this up for sure
Yessss thank you for this!
Perfect demo! Thanks!

You should be able to program the additional switched to move snapshots. Not sure about cycling through them but selecting should be an option
thank you bro... its awesome
Glad you like it!
Great video thanks, enjoyed seeing the demo at the end
Thanks Ben! Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Great stuff mate - appreciate it.

Happy to help! New looper set up video coming soon :)
How do you clear a recording? Hahah you did not mention it
Thanks for the tutorial - Very helpful.

Thanks!
Not sure about customising the lights for the looper controls. I haven’t come across anything like that. Would be a good feature
Great video !
Great video 🙏🏿 How long can looper record? 60s?
@camwalkermusic thanks ❤
VERY good video. I'm finally finding some good tutorials on the stomp. Thanks.
Appreciate it mate! Glad you liked it. Will be posting a couple more soon.
I'm following along but I can't get my footswitch 3 to stop being the tap/tuner function. Do I need to go into global settings to fix this?
Yes, in the global settings, scroll over to “Footswitches” and you can adjust the function of the Stomp 3 there
Great video!
Is there a way to save the loop?
Thanks for watching mate. Mmm not sure you can tbh.
I guess you can just record your loop through any DAW channel

@@BillyCrabbeMusic The way I have the Looper set is for one button to do everything, per the Instruction Manual.
was 1 stomp enough to stomp the loop? I dont fint my XL's buttons physically fine enough for looping.

Hey there! Just want to double check - is your tuner/tap still on FS3?
My question is while you are looping clean channel. Then change to distrotion for solo. So how do we change the channel by footswitch?

Thanks I use midi together. So I set another way to use looping

What about erase obviously the workaround is to move up and down on the preset

Hey hey! So just to double check your chain is:
Guitar > HX Stomp > Focusrite (with your speakers connected)?
This explanation is so needlessly drawn out I closed it. Figured the process out myself. Then came back to leave a rude comment with time to spare.

@IscariottActual I would like to see you make a video if you are so genuis yourself to figure things out in that big brain of yours.
Did anyone actually get this to work? Nice video, but it doesn't really seem like a high success rate from the comments
It is a pity your guitar was so out of tune .....
Sounds fine to me lol
Is it?
