Like everyone else says - best video out there. I’d got to the point of selling my HX as I couldn’t make it work for me live - this video saved it from the classifieds !! Thank you
Best entry level stomp vid out there! Everything is super clear and you don't endlessly reference cable methods we might be unfarmiliar with (without explaining them) and tell us "there are no wrong answers" !!!
I agree, the Line 6 videos absolutely suck, they race by and skip over so many details. This guy also moves fast but in a very logical way and he explains all of all of his moves clearly.
This is much better than Line 6's videos, and those are usually really good. This video has a good pace, great PRACTICAL application examples, and a very detailed plunge into the unit's features and capabilities. Thanks, Richie!
This is honestly the best most comprehensive review of what this little thing is capable of. Thank you for showing us all the different situations and possibilities, clubbed with great playing! You're the best.
I just picked up an HX Stomp. I have to admit, I thought it was a bit expensive until I watched this video and Richie showed me how unbelievably powerful this little unit is. Now I feel like I got a great deal!
I gotta say…this video is hands dow THEE BEST HX STOMP VIDEO TUTORIAL on youtube!!! Its been frustrating setting my pedal up with the pedalboard after watching every other video! Was left even more confused up until now! Thank you!
This is lile literally THE video i have been trying to find up here on UA-cam... Great work brother. Thanks for making it all straight to the points...no extra talks ... no beating around the bush.... amazing video.... i have learnt answers to everything i was actually confused with so far up until now. Bless you man. Keep it up.
Echoing other comments about how incredibly useful the info in this video is. I just bought an HX Stomp and the amount of uses for it are insane but so is the learning curve.
This is great. I’ve owned a Stomp for 6 months. Barely understanding how to use it w L6 instructions and the vids on their site. Yours is clear, straightforward. I was ready to sell it and recover some cash. I won’t now. L6 should send you a fat check$! Thanks Richie
I think you know more about sound, guitar, music arranging, recording, basically the whole enchilada. I’m always impressed. I’ve been around guitar, music since 1964 and I’ve never seen or heard anyone with your knowledge. But the cherry on the top is, with all that nuclear power... you’re humble! You deserve everything you get and more! Thanks Richie. You are living the life I could have only wished fir.
I know I’m 9 months late to the comment game but I’m new to the Stomp. Having searched, trying to find magical combo of key words, watching Line6Support clips, etc, this was the nugget of gold that made such good sense of the different dynamics and combinations for practical applications. Thanks for taking the time!!
The price of HX Stomp just does not cut for it. It says it has one of the two CPUs of Helix Floor/LT processors but it is only limited to 6 blocks which is a big shame. Helix LT can support up to 32 blocks if there is enough DSP power. Therefore, HX Stomp should support up to 16 blocks. It seems HX Stomp will support up to 8 blocks with a new update. Really, I am so excited (irony). Line 6 is ridiculous now. Also Boss GT1000 Core is much better than this rusty tin.
I'm been watching viall day, and this was the bes video to know how to use the Stomp with a real amp and a pedalboard a simple video, but the information that we really need to know I APPRECIATE IT 🔥🙏🏽
Exactly what I needed. Thank you! Just bought a HX Stomp, but it is surprising how hard it is to find someone to simply explain the main uses of HX Stomp in live setting with pedalboard and amp. Just subscribed for that alone.
I almost never comment, but whoa, that was the best hands-on, so practical and precise, explaining everything twice, thank you so much. Or not, coz now I just gotta have the Stomp.
I've watched dozens of these videos and this is hands down the best. You're the only one I've seen who has plugged the pedals board into the effects loop of the hx stomp.
Thank you thank you thank you. Just got HX stomp to use for a fly date and have one week to figure it out. This is the first video I’ve seen that finally clicks for me. You covered exactly what I needed to learn!!!!
This was probably the most complete (and most useful) video on signal chain, pedal board, and HX stomp all bundled in one! I've learned so much! Thanks man!
Hands down, the absolute BEST explanations and practical examples showcasing the HX Stomp. I referred to the video in 2019, and still find myself going back for refreshers. Thank you a million times over for helping us who are less cable and effects savvy!!
Perfect timing. I just replaced all my pedals (except AMT wah) with an HX Stomp, and using it live for the first time this Saturday (16th march 2019). Stomp with preamp models into fx return of a bluguitar amp1, all on the same pedalboard, lovely :) great vid.
Dude. This is one of the best instructional videos I ever saw on any topic. About the box itself, the feature list should simply say: "does everything". It's just crazy how versatile this box it is.
This is one of the best videos fro the hx stomp I have seen on youtube. If I would have seen this video earlier i would have made my purchased a long time ago.
Thanks Richie. I love your videos and have learned so much about using my HX Stomp from you. I came up with a different way to use the HX with 4CM but without using up a Send/Return > Mono > FX Loop block. I use the L/Mono Input and Right Input along with the L/Mono Output and Right Output. Route the L/Mono Input to Path A of the Split (full left) and the L/Mono Output to your amp's Input. In that path you can add compression, gain, pitch, etc. (pre-gain) type effects. (make sure to use Split Y) . Route the Right Input to Path B of the Split (full right). Hook up the Right Input to your amp's Effects Send and the Right Output to your amps Effects Return. In that path you can add your delays, chorus, reverbs, etc. (post-gain) type effects. I haven't found a place where I need to switch between my amp's current channel to a built-in HX Stomp preamp, so this works great for me. I also have setup patches where I route everything to Path B of the Split, completely bypassing the amps preamp and I add in a HX Preamp near the start of the signal chain and then route other effects accordingly. I'll post a video of the process and results in the next few days. ~JF (BOC RULES!!!)
Richie this is BY FAR the most comprehensive, understandable and musical explanation of the HX stomps live potential that I have seen. I’m just building a 60cm x 30cm board with my Bluguitar Amp1 ME and an HX Stomp XL and you’ve told me EVERYTHING I need to know. Thank you! Jim
Finally. A simple step by step demo for use on a pedalboard, starting from the most basic application which is what I needed to understand as a starting point. Great video. Thank you.
Just got the HX Stomp a couple of days ago for my bass and I have been blow away by it. Sounds great and I was up and running within 20 minutes. Videos like yours have been very helpful to get the most out of the Stomp. Thanks for making such awesome and helpful videos!
This video deserves sponsorship from Line6 (if not yet). AMAZING!!! Understood so much in 29:56 than watching other reviews for 5hours+++. Great job Richie!
hey, thanks a lot for your video running my pedals through the hx stomps effect loop with my pedal make a word of difference with the amp best video out there you rock
Extremely helpful. Learned a truckload. I subscribed, too. I have had the unit for months, just, took it out of the box, for the first time, over a week ago. Now Im sure, I will keep it. Thank you.
The best tutorial ever. Thank you so much for making time to shows all those configurations. I almost return my HX, because I did not know how to use it with my amp.
This is the video I was looking for. Nicely explained all the possibilities. I would just put my Aguilar tone hammer at the end of the chain since I use it as a pre amp and DI.
The best demo of the HX Stomp that I have seen on UA-cam, I think the only thing you left out was it can make you a coffee after you have played a few numbers lol. Excellent demonstration and successfully putting aside my doubts about whether to purchase one, the only problem now is that I have to go out and buy one. What a useful piece of kit, thumbs up and subscribed...
Thanks for this man, many users does not know these methods that's why they can't utilize the hx stomp or other multieffects processors and they'll go online rating these effects poorly. Hope everyone sees this video for them to maximize and enjoy their gear.
A-1 + Does not get better than this . Very well done ! Great demo of a another great Line 6 product . Still rocking my POD HD . This HX stomp is awesome .
Hello Richie! Thanks for the video. I’ve tried 2 combinations live - HX Stomp as my main amp simulator and as a block within the rig inputting stomps within FX Loops of HX Stomp. HX Stomp sounds great in both situations and it is definitely quite flexible. I am really amazed how a very small device can deliver such a great power. Rgds Eduardo
Picked up an HX Stomp about a month or so ago and really been enjoying it. I'm primarily an at home player that lives in an apartment building. I need something with phones out so I can play anytime I want and this has been so nice to add to the rig. I wanted to see if I could do a self contained preset with no outside effects and did an amp/cab combo with that 4x12 cab you recommended. To that I also added the Minotaur, Kinky Boost, Flanger, 63 Spring Reverb and the Mod/Chorus/Echo delay effect. Sounds killer and was based off of what you were demonstrating so thanks for that.
I really must congratulate you on making this totally awesome video that ive found more helpful in this one vid than all the others put together! Thank you so much
Thank you Richie, great usefule stuff. I use a stereo Roland JC 40 and would love to see how to hookup a pedal board with a stereo amp in an upcoming video. Rich
Tks Ritchie for your instructive vid. I bought the HX for practicing in my bedroom without using my pedalboard witch is very large. But now I think I will incorporate it on board.
superb vid Ritchie, the signal flow configs brilliant and the line 6 HX stomp is real bitching love it...........Frankie B in Australia is buying a stomp cheers
This was the best UA-cam video I have seen in regards to any demos in general! Best review and use of this product as well. Awesome close-up shots and in-depth explanations of different ways of using the hx stomp. Especially for direct to front of house. For this alone I subscribed to your channel. And happened by your channel by chance. It was happy chance too 👍🏾😁
This is exactly what I was looking for: I sometimes play at a jam in town and we had this exact issue recently where the amp died. I was looking for something which could function as an amp but ideally with some effects.
Bravo, sir! That was an incredibly easy to follow video that used the HX Stomp in ways I hadn't even imagined. Wow! Thanks for taking the time to make this for us!
Geez!!! This is the most useful summary of the power of the unit. I'll have mine in a few days and these are exactly the ways I planned to use it. Video is explained concisely and very striaghtforward. Thanks so much, I'm bookmarking this!!!
3 yrs running, still one of the best videos on the Stomp out there. New user here, thanks for all you're doing/have done!
Like everyone else says - best video out there. I’d got to the point of selling my HX as I couldn’t make it work for me live - this video saved it from the classifieds !! Thank you

by far the best video on UA-cam re the hx stomp! just brilliant! the manual written by line6 is awful, this video did it all! thank you :D
I agree, the Line 6 videos absolutely suck, they race by and skip over so many details. This guy also moves fast but in a very logical way and he explains all of all of his moves clearly.
This is easily the best and most complete instructional video that I have seen for the HX Stomp.
Great explanation for dummies like me!! Enjoyed the video!
This is the best video showing off the HX Stomp's feature. Hands down
The best stomp chain explanation i have ever seen in my entire life. Thank you so much!
appreciate the close up shots too showing cable connections, often overlooked in other videos.
This is much better than Line 6's videos, and those are usually really good. This video has a good pace, great PRACTICAL application examples, and a very detailed plunge into the unit's features and capabilities. Thanks, Richie!

Holy smokes. You probably understand how to use this better than the people at Line 6. I just subscribed.
Such a good video. Really deals with things that are relevant in a gigging capacity. Thanks!
I just picked up an HX Stomp. I have to admit, I thought it was a bit expensive until I watched this video and Richie showed me how unbelievably powerful this little unit is. Now I feel like I got a great deal!
THANK YOU, I've literally watched more than 15 videos looking for this answers !!

This just might be the best video about hx stomp features and tweaks on UA-cam. Thank you sir.
I needed this video a year ago. I was planning to sell my unit this video changed my mind. Thanks man.
Thanks for that real life scenario without all that worshipping of the manufacturer. Really cool insight

Best video I saw about this pedal! Other videos are just random guys messing around with the pedal to show their playing…
This was probably the most complete (and most useful) video on signal chain, pedal board, and HX stomp all bundled in one! I've learned so much! Thanks man!

…thanks Richie, this answered what I have been looking for in terms of solutions to an amp less set up! Overall amazing!
All of these options are why I'm leaning more towards an HX stomp than a full sized Helix.
Mind. Blown. 🤯 Thank you so much for having the patience to do all this.
Well done…. Thank you for sharing your knowledge HX Stomp….thinking about purchasing one.

the best review i've ever seen of this extremely versatile pedal. i love the way you describe it very simply.

Outstanding video Richie! Really gives several ideas how the HX Stomp can be used with or even in place of your existing pedals. A++
Thanks dude!
Richie, I love you vids!.. As well as, you're one talented dude!! The Take 6 vids alone place you in a rare level ..!

Liked & subbed. Very helpful for an HX Stomp newbie. Clear, concise, and thorough. Thanks!
The 4 cable method is a real eye-opener for me!
Best hx tutorial I’ve watched

Tks Ritchie for your instructive vid.

Great video, man! Thanks so much for this- line 6 should send you a pay-check for this run down that has obviously sold many many units
EXCELLENT WORK. THE BEST TUTORIAL ON THE SUBJECT. KUDOS.
This is exactly what I was looking for: I sometimes play at a jam in town and we had this exact issue recently where the amp died. I was looking for something which could function as an amp but ideally with some effects.
Amazing video, this is the most helpful one I’ve seen to help me decide if I want the hx stomp
Richie best videos on UA-cam for Helix and now HX Stomp! Thank you for your practical real world applicatons.
Awesome, very explanatory video, and you get right to it without a pre-roll to skip through. SUB + 1
Bravo, sir! That was an incredibly easy to follow video that used the HX Stomp in ways I hadn't even imagined. Wow! Thanks for taking the time to make this for us!
