First Contact - Enterprise-D Intro (Venture Variant)

- While I'm a complete fan of the Sovereign Class, I always wondered what a 'what if' scenario would give if the Enterprise-D was not destroyed at Veridian III in "Generations" and received for the next movie, "First Contact", an upgrade/refit to become like the U.S.S. Venture in DS9's "The Way of the Warrior".
Here is the result. Enjoy !

The Enterprise D looked good in Generations - I even loved the bridge alterations. She was totally worthy of the big screen. I love the Sovereign, she's gorgeous, but the Enterprise D was taken from us too soon.
The graceful 6 foot model shot with a proper film budget was outstanding.
@@Fleetwing1627 I don't hate CGI, I just think it's seldom done well. Models look great because they seem to be done well more consistently.
I think it's more of a case that making a shooting model requires materials and talent that 95% of the world doesn't have access to while anyone with a PC and a free copy of Blender can do CGI.
I love the Sovereign design but it always seemed like a Federation budget cut compared to the Galaxy Class and not a true flagship.
@@cornerofthemoon I saw the Galaxy Class as a sign of a time that the Federation believed they would never be in a serious war again, and would have a golden age forever. Getting people to enlist in Starfleet started to be a problem, so they tried anything to bribe recruits - including the silliness of "you can bring your family too!"
But the Galaxy Class proved too be too many eggs in too few baskets. Too much resources, and even worse too many personnel. Smaller, more numerous ships like the Intrepid were a logical progression, requiring a lot fewer crew and materials but relying on improvements in technology to be more effective ships "pound for pound" if not overall. A big beast of a battlewagon would still be needed though, so the Sovereign makes perfect sense to me. Keep the existing Nebulas and Galaxies for hauling around huge amounts of stuff - they are still tough ships that can be upgraded and customized for specific mission profiles likely for a century (Excelsior anyone?), but going forward Intrepids and Sovereigns make more sense for long-range ships with Defiants being good for short-range deterrence.
First Contact would have been more terrifying if it had taken place aboard the D, we knew that ship all to well and seeing it overrun by the Borg would have been the ultimate nightmare.
Indeed. An analogy would be slowly loosing a loved one to cancer.
Ent D: I'm gonna finish what I started.....
Borg: Oh crap it's back!
Borg: We are the Borg, lower your shields and-
*phasers blow a massive chunk out of the cube*
Borg: -surrender your ships, we will-
Venture-refit Enterprise-D: Better shut your mouth boy, I'll make it worse.
Admiral Hayes: Captain, you mind telling me what you're doing on that Galaxy-class ship?
Picard: Sir, finishing the fight.
@@Dargonhuman This ship delayed the Borg cube for hours when an entire fleet got demolished.....we already have a Borg killer sir.
This has aged well
@@phokingamajing Yes it did lol
I love this so, so much. The Enterprise D should've been destroyed by the Borg, TNG's ultimate enemy, and not some POS bird of prey. She deserved to be on the big screen for longer
Ronald Pinkerton Hah booo
That just makes those ships Even Cooler
Ronald Pinkerton Yes Because Galaxy and Defiant were difficult as physical models too put on screen they’re Unique? And respected
And Awesome !
Dude the best thing about Generations was getting see her in all movie quality glory. And goddamn she was beautiful! it took my breath away, and i was already so used to seeing on TV. That movie sheen gave her so much life!!!
agreed
Nahhh, how about the Enterprise D is never destroyed. Instead Riker gets the Titan sooner: a Sovereign class ship. It'd be the best of both worlds.
I always thought Picard's refusal to blow up the Enterprise-E in First Contact would've hit so much harder with the audience if it had been the Enterprise-D. We all would've been in Picard's shoes, wanting every last crewmen to fight tooth and nail to save the ship we'd spent 7 seasons and countless adventures with. Watching the D slowly fall to the Borg would've been gut-wrenching for TNG fans and made us more understanding of Picard's defiance. But as is, it feels more like Picard just doesn't want to lose his new toy. They haven't served aboard the E for even a full year, and we as the audience first met this ship a few hours ago, so I don't really know why the movie treats all of us like we have a deep bond/connection with it. Crusher sums up our attachment to the E best when she says, "Well, I guess they'll build another one." That's the appropriate response. As slick as the Sovereign design is, the D would've helped bolster elements of the narrative.
I could see him not wanting to give up the E. Picard has bad track record of losing every ship he commands.
I never thought about that. But then it would have to be actually destroyed to prevent the Borg from completely assimilating it. And given the storyline of First Contact, how the hell would the entire crew be able to get back?
Otherwise, if they still manage to save it, the drama would be hollow
@@peewypeabody4284 I know hindsight is 20/20, but it would've been awesome if the strain of re-opening the time portal back to the future caused the warp core breach upon arriving home. Then you could still have the whole evacuation/crash sequence where the saucer crashes on Earth and the ship is totalled. Talk about an epic send off ... the Enterprise-D sacrificing herself to get her crew home. Then you bring the E in next movie. It would also help fill in an explanation as to why people don't use this method of time travel in the future. Basically, if you're in anything less than the Flagship of the Federation, you've got no chance of it working.
That would have been a good plot device. Picard had decided that he'd seen enough of the Borg stampede across fleets of defenses, entire worlds, and absorbing/crushing civilizations. He saw them as the ultimate oppressor, the embodiment of the destruction of everything he'd spent his life cherishing, advocating for, and when necessary, fighting for.
Sovereign E-E could have followed with Insurrection.
Peewy Peabody she could have been so badly damaged (a la Galactica in the final jump) that she had to be scrapped.
The Enterprise D will always be my favorite. She's simply beautiful!
She has more of a "magnificence" than the Sovereign Class
Enterprise E has more firepower than Enterprise D
If you read the Technical Manual, lead Designer Michael Okuda called her an Organic Sculpture
@@curious5887 This has something to do with aesthetics?
The senseless destruction of the Enterprise-D is next to the meaningless death of Kirk.
The whole movie was just a collection of Star Trek movie tropes. They should never have had Moore and Braga writing it AND the series finale at the same time.
@@tyranusfan As a movie it was pretty "meh" as well, as many reviews pointed out it just felt a long tng episode with nothing too remarkable in it.
The main reason they destroyed the Enterprise was so all of the soundstages and interior sets used for TNG could be disassembled to make room for Star Trek Voyager.
@@tyranusfan Unfortunately, even the glory days of Trek in the nineties had pretty uneven writing at times.
Life form. You precious little life form. Salty are you? *be do beep beep boop boop beep*
I have to say...considering how long ago TNG came out and how good the Enterprise D looked at that time, I'm disappointed in some of the other starship designs since then. There was a kind of majesty to the design of Enterprise D that hasn't really been duplicated since. Even today, I think it still holds up as one of the most beautiful ships out there.
Andrew propert is a geniouse
The models are what helped the new ships don’t need to obay physics
the D was a ship built for exploration. it can defend itself but it didnt look aaggrssive or intimidating. it was a welcoming design especially to other speciies who views it.
@@randomrazr The D stands for Genes vision of a bright future.
@@turbomaga9477 shhe wants the D?
Who EVER would have thought this video would predict what was COMING in new Trek?? The Picard finale will be EPIC.
Indeed! And I completely forgot about this video until I saw a comment spike since last week's episode 😆
and - to noone's surprise - it was a huge disappointment. The Enterprise flew like an X-Wing which made her actual dimensions look tiny. New Trek has just lost it's ability or willingness to show starfleet ships in the gracious glory that they encompass. It all looks cheap and worthless. Also resurrecting the ship as well as continuously resurrecting Data make their loss and their sacrifice meaningless. When there is always a way back then none of these self-sacrificing actions mean anything.
@@herrsan A, Data is a machine, bringing him back even repeatedly is far more plausible than stashing your soul in a friends brain as Spock did...they were simply following the set precedent. B, that cube was enormous, at least 4 times bigger than the Best Of Both Worlds cube, seen easily in comparison shots with the D. Nobody felt like the ship was small, it simply fit very easy in a large area. C, the Enterprise D is maneuverable even at it's size, seen multiple times in the show such as a roll to escape a hatch while at full impulse. And lastly, D....It may be a disappointment to YOU, but you are literally the first person I've seen not happy with it. Everyone else is plenty satisfied...and begging for more with Legacy.

so you see the Enterprise highly manouverable in these scenes? I suppose you got fundamentally different idea and conception of what agile movement means. A Galaxy class ship is no Defiant.
And yes, resurrecting Data all the times voids any sacrifices he made. He loses his uniqueness as there are apparently plenty more of him in storage so why even bother with losing him again? And while I was not entirely happy with Spock's story, I can live with it happeneing only once. But I surely do not need even more Spocks constantly being cloned or resurrected and which appear whenever producers feel like randomly bringing a killed-off character back from the dead.
@@Eaglesg With the Picard finale being SUCH a big hit, right now is a PRIME time for you to do another video accompanying this one, there are only what, 2 shots where the E is seen in the battle of sector 001? Make it the D and post it...people will go bonkers for it. If you do it THIS well? I say you will get 500k views.
A wonderful shot of the most beautiful ship in the fleet.
I know when people saw the Enterprise E everyone was shocked at how beautiful it was but, honestly in all my years of watching Star Trek, including Discovery nothing EVER beats a Galaxy Class or the feels of seeing it in HD. The series finale of ST:Enterprise was amazing seeing the Big D in full HD 4K. It was truly amazing it brought back so many memories as a kid. If I had a choice as a Captain the Galaxy Class would be my ship, (which it was for years in Star Trek Online). Plus it would be fitting for the D to finish off the Borg because it started the war with them years prior. I feel the D was robbed of seeing one of her missions to the end, taking down the Borg, permanently.
Agree, but it was the interior of the D that made it so unique and why I felt it was the best. Every other Starfleet vessel since the D has been cold and metallic looking on the inside, usually with a lot of gray, silver, or darker shades. The D had a "comfy" feel to it, with all those tans and bright colors - almost like a weird fancy hotel in space.
They should have done an epic Borg trilogy. It could have rivaled Star Wars. But instead we got Generations who killed off Picards brother AND newphew, Captain Kirk, and the big D in the most insulting ways possible, one measly Borg cube and a dumb time travel story in FC, and then just two big steaming piles of shit in Insurrection and Nemesis.
Lithrian what? The interior was the worst part bc it felt like a comfy hotel. The Galaxy class exterior is a timeless iconic and gorgeous sci fi design
I so agree with you on that she just looks beautiful in enterprise like 🥰🥰🥰🥰 everything about her
Can’t agree with you on the basis that the Enterprise E looked much more intimidating and combat-focused, which was more fitting to the plot in which it is introduced: fighting the Borg. The theatricality and menace of the E design was really effective in setting up the tension and tone for that film. But indeed I’ll confess that if I had to choose, I’d rather live on and serve on the Enterprise D.
The Beauty of this Ship is absolutly outstanding
Best looking starship ever built.
Love the Sovereign class too but, this would of been so cool.
This is flipping awesome! Pity they trashed the Big D in Star Trek VII. Magnificent ship, especially on the big screen
Kai Humml Thanks ! :)
I agree with you wholeheartedly, though Brannon Braga and Rick Berman didn't seem to think so, In Fact from what I read, The Paint on the sets was actually beginning to show signs of wear after seven years of use and exposure to hot incandescent bulbs which is why the set lighting was darkened, also the 6 foot model of the Enterprise-D that was used in both TNG and Generations was so heavy that it needed several people to set it up for the shots and it didn't have as many mounting points for use in feature films where they had the budget for more elaborate shots and it was built to be seen on a 4:3 television screen and not a Movie Theater Screen hence the Additional Stations shown on the Bridge and the repaint job it was given just prior to shooting. These are the reasons that I heard they decided to have the Enterprise-D destroyed.
The Enterprise D shouldn't have been destroyed, I think it would've been better to have just retired it.
In a documentary about First Contact it was planned to have the Enterprise E be another Galaxy class starship but the plans were scrapped at the last minute.
@@ericbrown6203 Why retired?
Excelsior class ships were in service for over 80 years...
We've seen in Star Trek Enterprise in third season that the USS Prometheus (or at least a Prometheus class ship) was still in service 200 years after it was initially built.
I would surmise that Starfleet and the Federation may be building ship classes for the first 10 years and after that time frame, they stop production of that class. Any ships of that class that survive in service are continuously upgraded over time.
Starfleet makes its ships to be highly modular (and to last). The 80 year old Excelsior class (USS Lakota) was heavily upgraded and from a tactical point of view was a match for the Defiant (maybe even more powerful considering that the captain of that ship noticed that 'someone' gave the Defiant ablative armor and failed to put it in an official report - whereas the Lakota did NOT have ablative armor in place - as far as I'm aware).
It stands to reason that any Galaxy class ship still in service (roughly 10 years after the first one was built) would receive upgrades and refits over time to all its systems (engines, hull, weapons, etc.). So, 100 - 200 years down the line, Starfleet could still have some Galaxy class ships in service heavily upgraded to rival modern 26th century Federation designs (provided any Galaxy class ships survived to that time frame - but seeing how at least we saw 1 Prometheus class in battling the Sphere Builders in the 26th century, then yes... its possible Galaxy classes still exist in that time and are upgraded to match most up to date ships of that time) .
Here we go again
Excuse me while I go sell my soul so this version of the movie could exist.
Not A Martian sold mine already
Damn, I can't beleive I'm just now seeing this. She looks absolutely stunning!
Very nice. Would've been awesome if she was used in First Contact. The battle showing it getting hit. Going back in time and returning heavily damaged. Then the end of FC, showing the E in dock.
That would have been much more appropriate.
Amazing, got the lighting and nebula down. Never been a fan of the Sovereign class. Would love to see the D come in and rescue the Defiant.
Nathan Travis Funny since it would most likely be the other way around if it did happen.
It would be ironic, Worf's former ship coming to save his new one. I can imagine Riker joking....."miss us?" Plus it would fly in the face of Lt. Cmdr Shelby's fleet task force of seeing one her projects meant to fight the Borg being saved by the ship who pioneered the methods and tactics needed to defeat them.
@@jakegeiselhart3912 pretty late. But Worf was only on DS9 because of the Enterprise D's destruction. Still. would've been interesting
Enterprise D forever!!!! Thanks Geordi!!!!
Enterprise D, overhauled after being compromised and nearly destroyed at Veridian III and brought up to the standards of the latest starship tech ... turning her into a true battleship if needs be ... as she would need to be against the Borg.
While I love the lines of the ENT E, so like those of the rebuilt Enterprise (No bloody A, B, C or D) the D's design seems much more robust and capable of standing toe to toe with nearly any challenger, capable of taking and dishing out heavy punishment.
I don't agree with the "robust" part, think the E's lower profile (particularly near-absence of a neck) made her less vulnerable. But seeing D survive to be in the next movies, most definitely would've made people root for her much more heartily.
I would never call it a "battleship." Maybe some theoretical offshoot of the Defiant line of ship design and geometry. Galaxy vessels were dramatically upgraded for and during the War. The more recent builds probably had significant reinforcements in space frames, shielding, hull coatings, SIF generators, to say nothing of enhanced power generation, transfer grids, number of weapons, and capabilities of each.
A Galaxy-Explorer was easily a match for a purpose-built Jem'hadar Battlecruiser.
Before they decided to create the Sovereign class, the Enterprise-E was supposed to be another Galaxy Class ship.
This is the venture version of the D, and on its middle way to the version of AGT
Funny that’s kind of what they did in Star Trek Picard
That was the best 21 seconds ever. I won’t rest until you’ve edited the whole movie 😂
Now if you could do the rest of the movie with the D... yeah that would be great.
Wouldn’t that be more a pornhub movie after that?
TheMelbournelad
Ah you sick bastard 😂
The part where they spacewalk onto the deflector dish may be a bit tricky
I know I'll be in a minority here, but I was never really a fan of the Galaxy class design. I dunno, it just never did it for me. I far prefer the look of the Sovereign.
Paul L
I love’em both but Sovereign is the best and made sense to drop the kiddos off permanently. If you choose sf life you have to make sacrifices. The only part about the Galaxy class design that was off to me was the wide saucer section.
Rest of the movie with this ship, I'd rebuy the movie.
Same.
My favorite starship of all time. She's beautiful
Would have made more of an impact seeing the borg assimilating the enterprise d and the crew fighting to save the ship
Seeing the children being assimilated as well the parents would've been epic and more darker as well
Have to say, excellent work. I'll echo most comments, love the E but the D will always have my heart.
I'd imagine the new Nacelle Phasers wouldn't be all she got, I can see her getting a new bridge module, and a new (less touchy) warp core installed after all of the damage she took at Veridian III.
Starfleet2360 Well if she survived that battle, it's likely the ship didn't really get to badly damaged, so not much refitting would be done.
Vibranium Cocktail XD
Maybe the original star drive section might’ve still been destroyed in that instance,
But The Saucer would’ve been angled Just right as to not send it spiraling towards the planet like in the movie
but instead Blasted it into a Higher orbit, Albeit with a Pretty bumpy ride.
Nice effort, looks great, I like the E and the D but the D would have looked so good in this film!
Enterprise D had a presence and majesty that E simply never had.
I disagree. The Enterprise D got his ass too many times whooped in the series. That SUCKED ! But the Defiant in DS9....boyy, that was a badass ship !
@@johndaman6322 Remember Starfleet is not a military organisation. The D was not a battleship. After Wolf 359 massacre and Dominion war, starfleet had to slightly improve their ships for unexpected combats.

I LOVE the Sovereign, but I honestly would pay to watch this as a whole different version in theaters lol
seeing this scene basically recreated in picard to once again fight the borg is mind blowing!
The Borg returning and the D going to fight them? That'll never happen
Thank you so much for this intro!! I've dreamt every time while seeing the movie about this! But with the Enterprise refit of All good Things. I've got goosebumps while looking this video!
You have no idea how much I needed this.
So say we all
oh what could have been. The E is a beautiful ship but I will always love the D more.
Absolutely incredible! Well done! I agree with others here who have said that the Enterprise D should have been on the big screen longer. I too would love to see First Contact recut with the Galaxy class from Generations.
Not going to lie, I always wanted the D to go forward in the movies. I did like the E, but the D was home... And this proves she was always big-screen worthy. So happy that she got her justice in Season 3 of Picard.
the texturing looks amazing
This is the film the D should have had her send off in.
The story was good and seeing the Borg slowly assimilate her would have had more gravitas than the E did.
Culminating in the crew getting control long enough to bring her back to their timeline, only to have to self destruct the engineering section would have been the fitting end for her I feel as she was the one that first encountered the Borg, and would have been the one to kill their queen.
Great video. I really liked how you slowed down the camera movement. A lot of other fan videos don't do that. It really adds a layer of authenticity. Ships in TNG never moved around like fast planes. Their movement were always like submarines. Slow, but deliberate.
As I much as I love the Sovereign class, The Enterprise-D was the Next Generation's ship. I wish they would have managed get that Saucer section a new stardrive and move on. Aside from the changes to the nacelles I would have added the fins from "All good things" Enterprise to the sides to the pylons.
It took a long while but she got her another star drive section.
I remember reading that the reason it was destroyed was the ship was designed for tv aspect ratio and on the movie screen looked much too wide. So to introduce a new ship it was destroyed in Generations.
Brilliant job! So great to see the "D" portrayed in this scenario. Would love to see the whole scene including the battle with the Borg cube played out.
It’s even got the additional phaser points on the nacelles for the dominion war refit. Perfection!
Still just amazing to me that 20 years later we are still talking about Star Trek TNG and all the tings that could of come after. Shows how great this show was, the style, story, actors why they didn't duplicate this style now is beyond me, they could of really revived Star Trek to its former glory... Instead they went with whatever you call it style now and it died at the vine, with all of us long time fans asking wtf did you do to our beloved, you didn't follow anything that made the TNG era amazing as it was... go with stories per episode, have a crew with each having an episode focusing on them and an interesting story. Star Trek with Enterprise F, Jean Luke visits, its sent off into some part of the galaxy a year outside of federation space, Jean luke takes command because Captain is dead... Now you have a year to explore a new crew, new ship with exciting characters... Its a combination of TNG/ Voyager it could of been great...
She may didn't had a chance at the Borg in First Contact, but she came back with a blast in Picard!
This shot is so well made, and so well done that it really makes me incredibly sad this was not how this played out. The two Klingon Sisters were not worth blowing up the Enterprise D, but having it face the Borg a second time and this time getting, in some alternate version of the script, damaged so heavily that it cant be saved would have been such a great last hurrah for it all. Especially with the whole time travel aftermath. The entire scene could have been a much more devestating moment. No Sovereign to blow up the cube that then somehow is not in torpedo range of the sphere, but a more up to date, yet still overwhelmed Starfleet that managed to defeat the Borg just barely. It would have been a much more dramatic story, even more when the Galaxy we all knew and love breaths its last breath against the Federations greatest threat instead of the klingon Team Rocket.
This would have worked nicely had they salvaged the saucer at the end of Generations and docked it onto a new stardrive section with the nacelle upgrades in First Contact. As much as that film works as is, imagine how much higher the dramatic impact would have been if the Borg tried to assimilate the Enterprise-D and to see the interiors of it all Borg-ed out. Would have been interesting to see the Enterprise-D charge to the rescue at the battle in the opening of the film and destroy the Borg ship.
Yeah since the Enterprise D is modular all she would need is an upgraded Stardrive section and a salvaged saucer. The Enterprise D was the flagship and if anyone deserves to take down the Borg cube its THAT ship. The D was tossed by Q into an impossible battle with the Borg and I think seeing her take down a cube like the E would be extremely gratifying.
@@jakegeiselhart3912 I would have loved to see them raise the Big D some how. Then use the scrap from the destroyed ships from the battle of Wolf 359 and other decommissioned ships and built her into a super Borg killing machine. Give her a bigger secondary hull with redundant warp cores and engines. Armored to the teeth. Fit her with a couple big rail guns like in "All Good Things". I was thinking reconfiguring the saucer to house like 4 Defiant class/size attack ships. Give her a cloak. Rechristen her as the Endeavor. Imagine the covert ops adventures!
@@lukesdoings7150 No, not Endeavour. It needs a tougher name. Like the Avenger, or the Devestator or something like that.
@@Spacegoat92 No, Endeavor. Because it would be forged from ships of old continuing on, pushing forward. Besides Starfleet doesn't believe in revenge. lol!

Who else got goose bumps seeing the d instead of the e? Dont get me wrong i love the enterprise e beautiful ship but this was beautiful scene here. I was disapointed as a kid when i saw it in theaters back in 94 and saw it again recently more disapointed and wished they had a better scrip, wished kirk would lived and retire with a bunch of orion women. Im sure Q and kirk would have all kinds of fun adventures. The potential of what star trek generations could have been and might have started but only i can only dream.
Loved the design of the -D, loved that scene - the combination is awesome.
Great switch up! I loved the galaxy class but once the sovereign class E took its place I can’t look back or beyond it. The Enterprise-E was the ship that really took my breath away!! This is an awesome what if scenario though! Incredibly well done!!
The biggest mistake they made in generations was destroying the Enterprise; one of very few missteps by Ron Moore in his interactions with the franchise. Andrew Probert designed two radically different Enterprise interpretations: the TMP Enterprise and Enterprise-D. But they both had one common characteristic: they were “majestic” looking; they imparted scale and weight that just hasn’t been replicated in other designs.
Even in CGI form, it’s origins as a physical model make the massing and proportions seem “real”, because it had to be sculpted by hand. It’s complex form is nicely contrasted by its lack of unnecessary complexity. When you look at a lot of the later designs, even when physically modeled (like the Sovereign class Enterprise-E) they’re unnecessarily complex and overwrought. This only got worse with the CGI era. The result is the Galaxy class still looks more realistically modern and elegant than almost anything put on screen in the recent history of Star Trek.
she looks beautiful 💖gone but not forgotten,
the Galaxy Class Enterprise deserved a better finale than ending up in the dirt of
Veridian III.
This makes me tear up. Oh how I miss seeing the Galaxy class on the big screen. It’s the only redeeming part about Generations. The Galaxy class looked so damn beautiful!!!! And then the best ship flyby at the end with the nebula, Miranda, and Oberth classes
Have you seen the lastest episode of Picard?
Its like the video has be pulled from an alternate timeline.
If only TNG show had this level of production! ❤
This looks amazing!!! Great job!!!
To be honest, I never was a huge fan of the Ent-D. She's a big girl and did the job really well. Just not my type of ship I guess. The Sovereign on the other hand.................sexy. Just flat out gorgeous!!! But going back to the Ent-D, I really think the writers and directors did her dirty in Generations (among other things). Ent-D should've been in all four TNG movies. Basically, they should've done what the TOS movies did. We saw the Connie refit in all the TOS movies (Enterprise and Ent-A). We also got treated the newest ship to succeed the Constitution-class, the Excelsior (another one of my favorites). At the end of Undiscovered Country, we see the passing of the torch. Excelsior going to new adventures, Enterprise-A calling it the day. THAT's what should've happened to the Enterprise-D. Passing the torch to the Sovereign at the end of Nemesis. Just my imo..............
Originally the E was actually going to be another Galaxy Class like the Enterprise A but they instead gave us this beauty.
The only variant of the Galaxy Class I would Serve on or Command.
Am I the only one who got teary-eyed watching this?
It was almost like seeing the refit Enterprise in Spacedock in 1979...
SHE'S BACK!
i like the entperirse-e ....but if this happened instead...i wouldnt have complained
MASTERFULLY done. This looks like it was pulled straight from the movie itself.
"Let's see what this Galaxy-class starship can do..."
Awesome shot and thank you for sharing this footage.
Great job here, the Ent-D should have 100% survived Generations and lived to see this Borg showdown, destroying it in a battle with an antique bird-of-prey was criminal, the Ent-D deserved to go out in a blaze of glory saving Earth from assimilation, dammit Star Trek!!
That’s beautiful. Well done!
Even though her demise was tragic, the scene was one of the most epic in star trek history. Choosing to focus a great deal on just how many darn people there would be to evacuate in just minutes was a great choice, and the destruction effects hold up really well for the most part.
I would have added quantum torpedo bays at the same spot as the Enterprise E.
Star Trek Picard restored my interest when they brought the Enterprise D back from the dead. Retrospectively. the Enterprise D should not had been destroyed. One can say that Star Trek Picard corrected this mistake by retconning the ship from destroyed to salvaged. It brought tears to my eyes because I never thought that it would happen. If they can bring back the Enterprise D, then they must bring back the Enterprise C because its tied to Sela's existance. Imagine if the Enterprise C escaped destruction by using a clocking device that desquised the ship as a Romulan Warbird. Thus, the Enterprise C that was destroyed was really a Romulan Warbird. The ship and crew got captured, but not killed. I could see Enterpirse C being The Romulan General Sela's Flagship because it was her mother's ship. She owes her existance to Enterpise C who uses it to stop a Romulan plot which leads to the fall of the Romulan Star Empire.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! I love the Sovereign class, but this just feels... right!
This has cleansed my soul. Feels good to be a next gen fan again. Thank you!
Wow! Beautifully done. The animation and lighting look fantastic
Now I would love it if this enterprise came to the rescue.
love it, graphics are perfect and you even did the refitted parts too nice touch
Amazing!
If only it looked this cool during the series!
The Enterprise D should've been refitted for Dominion War time. She deserved to be on the big screen for longer.
Gorgeous, very well done!!!
Wow, this is legit beautiful. I love the E, but this would’ve been great to see too. Well done.
This is beautiful. I wish it were lit a little brighter, but that was a problem that plagued Generations, too.
The galaxy class is still THE federation star ship for me. It’s timeless.
Excellent work!! 👏🏼
OMG this gave me tingles....thank you!
beautiful work!
The Sovereign is one of the sexiest Starships to me. A sleek, slender design, a very powerful and fast ship. It does bother me that Starfleet doesn't really have Dreadnought Class ships. One of Starfleet's missions is exploration, but Starfleet IS a military organisation, no matter what anyone says. You can explore the Galaxy all day in a ship that can defend itself, without the worry of getting oneshot KO'd like the Oberth Class from Star Trek 3.
Love this redux. I've never cared for the neckless 1701-E.
Wow, lovely work.
Woaaaaah! Eff me sideways! That gave me chills!! Amazing
It would have been better to keep the Ent:D for STFC and then retire her after that movie; She saved humanity and was partially assimilated by the Borg - let her retire in glory
NICE ONE!!...Picard 3 has really brought a lot of love back for "The Fat One""!!
Freaking GLORIOUS!
This is actually perfect!
