Star Trek Online is very bad. Same storyline, you can't make decisions and very strange graphics. If there would be another Star Trek RPG I would play this.
You cant - or this would have been a 3 hour video with a download link to the project. Only what you saw in the vid was rendered and developed in-engine. But yes the detail and fidelity was amazing for what was there - 10/10
Now that we have seen the return of the Majestic Enterprise D to the TV again. We need a way to revive this product and bring it back, surely if we could get in touch with the right people, they could see the value of such a product. I would personally pay for a fully explorable enterprise D as if it was a full game. Just going around seeing NPCS, reading lore, captains logs and interacting with the ship.
I would love an Enterprise game, where you can choose a crew role (engineer, bridge com officer, weapon officer, captain etc) each playthrough would show the story and the choices from that person's perspective. Socializing, climbing Jeffrey tubes and fixing the exhaust manifold.

That's because TNG was the fulfillment of a vision. The realism in the interior was phenomenal. I'd like to see more of what the crew quarters are like.
This was just....incredible. Your brain starts to think it's actually in the Enterprise, seeing things you've never thought possible unless you were truly in that reality.
For much of my life I'd have given anything to have been on the Enterprise D. I was so upset when it was destroyed, as it was like ripping a family member away, or losing a home.

@@Armageist I used to be a Star Wars fanboy but Star Trek has become very interesting to me. The lore and whatnot is very deep and there's so much detail in its universe, ships, etc. Like the thought of walking on the enterprise for real is awesome.
@@ryanarchuleta6231 It's just weird because you only see these "locations" from specific angles, so your brain automatically knows it's a "Show" or Movie. But seeing it from multiple angles, being able to literally look around, explore every nook (more or less)....it's very disconcerting but in a good way. The same could be said for Star Wars, but at the same time, we spend so much more time with Star Trek considering the multiple shows/hours/episodes. So seeing it from another angle for the first time...and in first person. This would've been mind blowing with VR / Occulus.
Man it's a good thing the Enterprise has a good supply of shuttlecraft considering how many we saw get destroyed on the show in the episodes: Skin of Evil Rascals Liaisons Timescape Identity Crisis The Best of Both Worlds Part 2 The Most Toys Deja Q Time Squared
He added a lot of details that were never shown on the TV show, like the stairways, for example. And the corridors connecting the bridge to the conference room. And the huge shuttle bay. I guess he had to make up a lot of stuff to fill up that huge volume inside the ship, most of which we were never shown. And I'd guess he had to make some "corrections" to make the inside fit the outside...
Perhaps you might be interested in the TNG Technical Manual. The reason why those sorts of connections weren't seen in the show is due to the sets not being connected but, in-universe, they are connected with those stairways and ramps. Also, the Main Shuttle Bay was that big (hence why it wasn't seen and why they used Shuttle Bay 3 so often in the show (it's is both the smallest shuttle bay in-universe and the largest set in the series.)
It actually looks like it could hold the crew complement of 1,000-6,000 and a solid 15,000 people during an emergency. lots of lounges and indoor carpet.
I love the ending, when the view drifts upward and away from the bridge. It is majestic and sad at the same time, the Enterprise-D being something magnificent that we could see but not hold onto.
CBS is missing a huge opportunity here. If a virtual simulation of the Enterprise-D or any of the famous ships were made, completely with objects that when interacted with could bring up trivia around that - like say the Stargazer model in Picard's ready room - Star Trek fans would flock to buy them. And imagine if there was a VR option, helping it feel as if you're actually there onboard the Enterprise or the Defiant or Voyager or DS9. Star Trek fans would happily pay for those experiences. Not doing it is losing CBS so much money.
For much of my life, I would have given anything to be on the Enterprise D. The only thing is that just over 1000 people is very, very sparsely populated for a ship that size. It was where I dreamed of being, and when it went, it was like having the heart ripped out of my fantasy life. To me, there will never be a more fantastical or elegant ship.
I feel the same way. Every time the turbolift broke down, they always climbed through those tunnels in the ceiling. I always though "Don't they still have stairs in the future?"
+Jim Tilley, i'm not so sure you would, that kind of till tape is not very absorbent, and has a slight waxy film. ... I once put a roll of till tape on the toilet paper dispenser at a home depot... i wonder how that went over for the people there xD
Every now and then, I run across virtual tours of the Enterprise. This one is by far the best. Again, it's a shame that CBS/Paramount had to stop it's development. Maybe they should pay the developer to finish this project and sell it. The Orville has an interactive ship, available on Steam, for FREE. Thanks, Seth McFarland, for not taking that down. As far as the stairs go, obviously, if the Turbo-lifts go down, going from deck to deck by using stairs, makes sense. Also, who would take a Turbo-lift to go down 1 deck
Because rich environments like this, with a huge amount of intellectual investment, with technical measurements and scales, could be modelled very easily with a computer. The stories and connections within the game calculated to very interesting results. I.e. creating, waiting, involvement in each other as a story. It could even be some of the suggested activities for team building. Rather than put a sign up that says LFG, you go and play where the group might initially be out of your control, the idea to be how do you connect with people. Whilst the first is just to show how boring and scary/lonely these environments could be without other human presence. I.e. it would be similar to walking around an industrial area alone for many years.
@tablelampdoor If only they'd just give the Internet carte blanche while designing a game, I'm sure the nerds would be happy to produce a masterpiece, completely free of charge. Look at what 1 or 2 modders can do, then imagine hundreds or even thousands of them sharing ideas and working on the same project.
It is, I think season 2 episode 18 Riker tells Brenna Odell that the ship will clean itself, to which she replied "Well hooray for the bloody ship!" Episode "Up the Long Ladder"
This is wunderbar. It really makes me wish to have a game that centers on the enterprise in this way... having diplomatic missions, rescue operations, eerie phenomena and everday stuff with the crew. Ohhh sweet dreams...
Don't get the Sulaco from Aliens as it will always crash the game, and don't destroy the Death Star - same result. I'd like to be able to explore a little more of a ship in Bridge commander - albeit it being BRIDGE commander.
That shuttle bay is a beautiful space--too bad the transporter makes it basically redundant/useless. Small craft operations like we're seeing here would have been so much better than a magical teleporter, but they were stuck with it after TOS put it in for budgetary reasons.
When I first saw this video and what was going on with that shuttlecraft I was wondering if Tom Paris was at the controls because on Voyager he was always shown to be a bit cocky and this was one other thing I liked about this video the showing of the inside of the Enterprise D's main shuttlebay which sadly we never got to see on the show the only shuttlebays we ever got to see were the 2 shuttlebays in the ships neck and I also liked those lounges shown in this video and the models of all the past ships called Enterprise on the way to the main bridge was really awesome and also a great tribute to a great old lady.
If you can find a copy of Star Trek Voyager Elite Force with the expansion pack that adds Jeri Ryan as a voice actor, you can get a full version of Voyager to explore, crew included.
I have my CD copy of the game and most likely the expansion with Jeri Ryan's voice downloaded on a hard drive. I almost threw out the game disk when I heard the substitute voice, luckily a friend told me about the patch.
Lol, the simulation of the polar motion on the control panels, even the uneven backlighting, stunning attention to detail throughout. Stairs on the Enterprise D though, feels weird.
Yeah, that 'bridge access' pathway felt really weird. I think they had to change a bit of the ship because they havent programmed the turbolifts in yet.
Alvian1227 Ah is that it, that makes a certain sense, I'm guessing actually making those buggers work would be pretty complicated to program, like adding a fully working taxi service to the inside of a building.
Ugnutz Yes, if you went the whole hog in a full game it would be really complicated. Though in reality you would most probably just cheat it, especially if it's just a single person perspective of the ship. Get in, pause things and make a few noises, shift POV of you to the appropriate deck, get out, tah dah. Not as much fun, though, is it?
No, it's not because they had to. There IS a deck plan of the Enterprise D in existence (two conflicting ones in fact) That ramp up onto the bridge and all the stairs and stuff has always been there, they just never showed it onscreen. Just like you've never seen the main shuttlebay in an episode (because they could never build a set that large) It's not because the turbolifts aren't implemented (I have no idea if they are or aren't), it's that in reality the ship DOES have stairs and ramps AS WELL as turbolifts. (besides, you've seen the jefferies tube ladders, right? You do need a backup if the turbolift network fails) Based on the available deck plans, you can walk from deck 42 to deck 1 without ever taking a turbolift. And while the lower decks in the engineering hull kind of require the use of ladders to get around if you do that, you can almost certainly get all the way up from deck 30 to 1 without ever using any kind of lift if you really feel like it. The two things are hardly mutually exclusive. Consider an office building - it has elevators, but it also has stairwells - that's not weird, that's normal. A starship would be no different.

Well the ship has over 1000 people on board, they cant all fit in 10 Forward!
The silent walking and camera perspective of this makes me think of one of Data's dreams like when he's just walking around the ship before he sees the blacksmith and the crow.
Phantasms :)
exactely
Before he jettison's Picard's painting and torpedoes it?
What is silent about the walking?
Yes! And it certainly helps that, while on the bridge, we hear those echoey voice clips. As though all the crew are dead but they haunt this ship still.
Now I know where the bathroom is but I still don't know how to use the three seashells... Lol 😂😂 😂
1. Pee, 2. Poop, 3. Too much Romulan Ale last night
Demolition man on Enterprise, what would president Schwarzenegger say about that..
If you want a laugh, check out Descent part 1. In the scene before the Borg invade the Bridge, there's a guard waiting outside the toilets. He gets killed. Only when the Borg are complete gone, does the guy who was in the toilet emerge. (Whew, it's safe.) It was a funny joke put in the episode that only people who knew that door led to the toilets, would get.
Epic Demolition Man reference :-)
I got a kick out of it when I saw it. Had to explain to my wife why I was laughing so hard.
This reminds me of that scene from Star Trek Generations, where the female klingons are watching Geordi through his hacked visor. "All he's been doing is walking around." "He must be the only Starfleet Engineer who doesn't go to Engineering."
Then we see the gorgeous Gates close up through Geordi's visor when he is on the examination bench. Hilarious to see the Klingon females, Lursa and B'Etor squirming at the 'Ugly' human females....🤣
I'm just lookin for some Klingon Cleavage. ..
My favorite part are the three clam-shells.

Stage 9 Virtual Enterprise D was available for Oculus - it was amazing. CBS doesn't want you have it. But they gave you Discovery.
@@ericbasta7430 CBS doesn' want us to have what? What did CBS give us?
@@inyourfacetimmy CBS had the fans developing Stage 9 stop all work and pull all assets off the internet. It is completely within CBS's right to do so but imagine if they paid these guys some money to create a fully explorable Enterprise D. CBS could sell it as a museum or fan experience and make some money off of it while fully giving a high five to their Star Trek fans. It would have been a much better solution.
@@ericbasta7430 Yes, I totally agree with you there. CBS could have done a much better job of working with the fans. And I would love to walk the fanmade Enterprise, maybe even develop it further, into something bigger. Like a Game, where one could explore the 1701-D, have the crew as NPC's ,or maybe even create some new episodes in an interactive game format. Too bad CBS chose "quick money" over backing this great project.

A full seven seasons of TNG, and not once did we hear Picard say, "I'll be in the bathroom, Number One."

Based on how much of this looks like cruise ships and convention centers, it would probably be safe to assume that would be part of personal quarters as well, and many people do prefer their own washrooms. They said he's a private man...
"Number one, I order you to take a number two!" Captain Butt-head
Picard’s ready room had a private bathroom, off the replicator alcove. I bet at least some of the time he said “I’ll be in my ready room” he was, ah, having a “comfort break”.

Now you can see why they never used the main shuttlebay on the show. Good luck find a sound stage THAT big
They should've dressed a defunct aircraft carrier hangar deck. Besides, BSG managed to do pretty well with a lower budget.
I had no idea it was "meant" to be that big...
That 1 thing answered a lot of questions for me. I have watched the program since the very first episode (I am that old) and always thought they must have docked up through the belly I never would have thought the top

As far as the stairs go, obviously, if the Turbo-lifts go down, going from deck to deck by using stairs, makes sense. Also, who would take a Turbo-lift to go down 1 deck
Whoever made this had a very vivid imagination. But I just can’t see stairways on the ship.
Though in reality you would most probably just cheat it, especially if it's just a single person perspective of the ship. Get in, pause things and make a few noises, shift POV of you to the appropriate deck, get out, tah dah. Not as much fun, though, is it?
No, it's not because they had to. There IS a deck plan of the Enterprise D in existence (two conflicting ones in fact)
That ramp up onto the bridge and all the stairs and stuff has always been there, they just never showed it onscreen.
Just like you've never seen the main shuttlebay in an episode (because they could never build a set that large)
It's not because the turbolifts aren't implemented (I have no idea if they are or aren't), it's that in reality the ship DOES have stairs and ramps AS WELL as turbolifts.
(besides, you've seen the jefferies tube ladders, right? You do need a backup if the turbolift network fails)
Based on the available deck plans, you can walk from deck 42 to deck 1 without ever taking a turbolift.

Space, the final frontier
These are the voyages of the star ship Enterprise on its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds to seek out new life and new civilizations to boldly go where no man has gone before...
This is absolutely beautiful people!!! Always a trekie and forever will be
Amazing. Simply breathtaking. Could spend days just walking around admiring the detail.
I have the boxed Enterprise D blueprints and it shows how large shuttlebay 1 is but seeing this in 3-D shows an even better depiction to it's size and scale. I have always imagined it full with 2 wings of X-Wing fighters or Colonial Vipers! 😁
I want to see the whales next. Those Blueprints pissed me off. There was so much more to see on the Enterprise, Damn you television budget.
Congrats on this game simulator or whatever it is, through the use of Unreal Engine 4. Well done beautiful.

This is what I was hoping to have in Star Trek Online with my own ship.
That's what the original concept was supposed to be. On the Alpha forums people campaigned for an MMO and the new company switch to the Champions Online engine and we got that mediocre game we have today. I pushed hard for an Elite Force type game where people had roles on a ship.
Ugh gotta admit i cried a little when it zoomed out from the bridge. It just dawned on me, TNG is over it was such a big part of my childhood.
Absolutely spectacular work!
It's like going to a race car museum as an old man and running your hand along the fender of the vehicle you almost died in many times as a young man but oh how that experience tempered your life. You cherish it now because of who it made you.
This is amazing! I love this project. It gives me hope that it can be revived in a manner close to its original form, with episodes guided by a moral compass instead of nonsense. 🙏💚
