The kia's isn't really adaptive. It has a firm mode when you put it in sport. The audi uses a camera and constantly adjusts the dampers to perfect the ride.

Although the Audi is more refined it's still 25 000$ More at least here in Canada than the stinger (Including all the options that the Kia has and Audi is add-on as heated rear seats, HUD, wireless charger etc.) for the 25 000$ less the Stinger for me is a way more compelling reason to buy.

In Poland, Audi S5 costs around 153.500 CAD, similarly equipped KIA Stinger GT costs 83.600 CAD. It is difficult to compare two cars with such different prices. With this price ratio, there is only one winner - not Audi. Maybe in Canada they are at the same price, if so Audi is better.
In Canada the price difference is about 25000. Going by cost these cars aren't comparable, going by segment, features, size and performance they are direct competitors. Making the stinger that much of a better value
The bump u get while accelerating is not from turbo lag, it has 550nm at 1350 rpm, much more than the s5, its the traction control cutting power in the snow, even in sport plus with everything off, it does this.

The accurate numbers are 0 - 60 in 4.4 seconds on the rear wheel drive and 0 - 60 in 4.5 seconds on the AWD. This information is clearly stated on the Kia Stinger Site and proven personally.

The A7 and the Optima came out around 2010 and look different. And if you look at both in 2010 and now, you can see where the Stinger is based on the Optima, not the A7. The Stinger just looks more like a fastback now.

Fun fact 2017+ s5s have wireless chargers it’s just a option u have to buy ;) and the s5 has massage seats :) the s5 also has the all weather package with cooling and heated seats but u lose ur sport seats

I love the Stinger GT I have a gt 2 limited, the only complaint I have is the side view of its not great it looks likes a goose, if the belt line had been raked a little it would look better than the parallel lines its has. the Audi looks better IMO and I can't comment on the driving because Ive never even been in the AUDI. Best thing about the Stinger is people say WHAT! thats a KIA!?!
One of the lead Chief Engineers of this car was the former Chief Engineer of BMW's M Division and one of the designers is from Audi/Volkswagen so the engineers behind it know what they are doing.
Audi won't give you the warranty . Too expensive and had electrical faults and brake faults . Not built like the old ones . I would not waste my money on an Audi.
Good comparison, I have been looking closely at both vehicles and agree with most points. The Audi is the superior car if your budget permits but realistically it will cost close to 20 K more and both cars have more performance than the average person will ever need or actually be able to use except on a racetrack. If you buy the Kia Stinger I don’t think you will be disappointed and they do have pretty good quality and warranty. Truthfully the average person doesn’t have 70 to 80 K to drop on a car.
I would choose a Stinger GT2 over the S5 Sportback. The price difference is a lot for me. Especially in the used car market. Both cars are very similar otherwise. Great dedication in making the video. Good luck!
N getting wrk done on a stinger is cheap n I need had a problem with my transmission that's cap lol 😆 but yeah kia stinger gt 2 are way faster then a5 audi as well only thing is better on that car is the Digital gages
Sorry, a lot of your info is incorrect. I have a 2019 S5, it has a wireless charging pad, it’s under the armrest. Rear heated seats are on option in the cold weather package. Ventilated seats are available too. You can also get a panoramic sunroof
Love fastbacks, and these are two great ones! But the Kia is better at being a GT car, and the Audi is better at being a sports car. I think I'd take the Stinger, enjoy the better reliability, and think about what to do with the 30K I saved.

It actually probably wouldnt be lol. This guy is very clearly Audi biased, he had no knowledge of any performance mods (newer at the time but they were 100% around when this video was made) and the stinger is EASILY able to be modded for way less AND get much more power than S5. Not to mention, he took "reported" 0-60 times of the Audi that were under stock times and ignored the fact there have been timed reports from other performance sites that clocked a stock Stinger in at 4.4. JB4 Tune and Intakes easily would beat S5 performance wise you gain 75+ HP and 125+ torque for 1k in mods. Keep in mind, they actually went and tested these a year and a half later. In standard mode the Stinger walked the S5, in sport mode once S5 was using launch control (they didnt use launch control on the stinger) the S5 had about 1 - 2 car length win and from a roll the S5 was initially slightly quicker but still lost cause Stinger overtook at top end. This was stock vs stock (actually S5 had intakes done) so it wouldnt even be a fair comparison with a simple JB4 tune added, thats whats really crazy is it takes almost nothing comparatively to be able to gap the S5 and most mustangs / 392 scat packs that are ONLY sports cars.
Interesting comparison, although speaking as someone who is looking at getting a S5 as his next car, I am not even cross shopping the two, if I wanted a cheaper car I will cross shop across brand at similar price point.
In Australia, Stinger GT's drive away price is around $70,000 and RS5 is around $185,000. It feels so much better in the RS5 and you can demand the smooth and settled power at any given time 👍
There's definitely performance parts for the stinger, check burger motorsports or tork tuning. I just have a hard time justifying the price difference between an s5 and the stinger, like I'm sure the Audi is nicer but is it seriously worth 15k more? If the kia is 90% of the car I don't think the remaining 10% is worth that much more. But I dislike it when people put too much emphasis on badges most of all. We drive cars, not brands. I appreciate your review and sense of humor, and I hope I don't come off too negatively.

The Audi is very compelling, especially the A5 with a little bit of modding, which brings the price much closer to a stinger. That VAG 2.0 tsi is well known being in so many vehicles. I can admit I also like being a little different so that's another reason I like the stinger.
I like the Audi S5, I actually liked it more than the RS5 lol i did a comparison between the a5 s5 and rs5 and still picked the S5. Kia Stinger needs more power, better brakes, sportier suspension system and louder exhaust to get to audi s5 level. I wouldn't dare to take the Stinger in track bone stock. Thats my take on it. Great car nonetheless
@@falkin42 It depends on if you want the refinement of the Audi. Kia, doesn't really have a "Lexus" division like Hyundai does with the "Genesis." And Genesis can get sporty. But I don't think the G70 that's on the same platform as the Stinger can deliver the refinement and solidity of Audi. Not yet. In time they may.

You should really compare the S5 to RS5 again. I had the S5 and switched to RS5. The difference can really be felt at higher speeds. When you punch the gas on the S5 at 70 mph, the feel in acceleration is not overwhelming. When you punch the gas on the RS5, it is downright fierce! It just feels like it will not stop pulling and pulling hard. That’s where the 100 ft/lb difference in torque comes in. You will be at 125 mph before you know it. Also, there is right at 1 second difference in 0-60 time

Sam CarLegion Very true. However Lexus and Acura are luxury brands of Toyota and Honda which have pretty much dominated the market since the late 60s here in North America. Hyundai on the hand with its luxury brand Genesis used to be for the people who didn’t want to spend much money for a corolla or Civic, went to go buy a cheaper Hyundai Excel which was much subpar to its Japanese counterparts. I’m not hating on the Kia but I think it’s anywhere close to the prestige of an Audi. When the Lexus LS400 came out, when I was a mere kid, it was a beautiful car. The fit and finish and the drive, won the hearts of many, and being a Toyota deep down inside wasn’t an issue because Toyota had already established itself as a benchmark. It was was convincing the Mercedes-Benz S class or BMW 7 series drivers to go for Lexus, which wasn’t a heart sale. I will never a Hyundai (Genesis/Kia) as I do a Toyota (Lexus). Built quality and overall luxury shows deep in a Lexus. Hyundai and it’s products are nice but so nice to be in comparable mindset of an Audi. Please don’t take offence, it’s just my personal opinion. When you have the money, buy something proper and not settling for mediocre (Kia/Genesis).
@@bilalahmed2123 We don't all by cars for prestige. Even those of us with money, shop based on what we get for our money. I could care less what someone else's opinion is of what I drive. It doesn't dictate what I have in the bank or what I own. After all, we are still talking about depreciating assets. It's not like the instant you drive these cars off of the lot, that they GAIN value. They all lose value. The interior of the Audi is nicer for sure, but considering I can get a similarly equipped Stinger for $30,000 less, that's where I'd put my money because I don't rent, I mean lease, cars.
Don’t forget to factor in maintenance cost. My previous Audi would cost $350+ for every service. My Stinger GT2 cost me $35 at the dealer. With the extra money I saved between the two, I threw on a Borla exhaust and I have much more fun in it than I did in my Audi.
I’ve owned an A8 for 10years. Just got rid of it due the high cost of ownership. Once it goes bad it seemed to all go bad….the xm receiver, struts, video screen, and other electronic gremlins. An Audi not under warranty is just a an automated cash machine for Audi. Don’t get me wrong. I loved my audi. It was a great car before things started going south. Comfortable. Fast, held lots of stuff, pass through ski sack and the winter. It served its purpose wonderfully. But just like any Getman vehicle that’s not under warranty it will bleed you dry if you let it. If you’re going to buy a car and keep it for past what is a typical 3yr rental ….. I mean lease…..then I’d go with the Kia. So,e of the comment here are stupidly based on a badge and not in the reality of the worldwide economic situation.
Had a 2020 gt1 stinger for 3 years now have a 2022 s5 sportback. Don't get me wrong I loved my stinger and it was fast but the s5 is alittle faster and has the potential to get way more power and speed the the kia could get with the same modifications.
The Canadian version of the Kia Stinger GT Limited has adaptive suspension. Also costs about $20 000 less than a similarly equipped A5 (with the added expensive options to match the Kia).
The fact you compared a Stinger to an S5 and not the comparably priced A5 sportback speaks volumes of the value the Stinger brings to the table. Great flattery for the Stinger. For the record the back seats aren’t comparable. Both have headroom issues but the Stinger has way more legroom.

U have a bunch of accessories for Stingers :) even carbon coated BORLA exhaust systems. ECU can be remapped gaining +150HP, both turbos swapped to slightly bigger ones. Exterior does not need any mods though... ;) well... maybe except a rear wing and swapping plastic to carbon fiber elements... Stinger comes in full option (3 additional orderable packs are worth $ 3k altogether)... While to get a well equipped Audi U need to add circa $ 40k to the base price, which already is a pretty tiny monster for the wallet.
Well that designer came up with a lot more interesting designs for Kia than he did for Audi. Audi used to be stunning inside and out. Now Audi seems conservative and safe. That's not to knock the actual cars which are highly refined. But they're not that stylish anymore, in my opinion.

I have driven the RS7, which is similar in terms of size to the S7, diesel vs petrol? I think the answer is clear, petrol. If you don't care about power but you need space s7 is the way to go.

It is good to film to do the comparisons in snow. You get real world performance for the northern areas.

The designs aren't the same. The Stinger is a modified Optima. The Audi is a fastback version of the A4/A6.

I would choose a Stinger GT2 over the S5 Sportback. The price difference is a lot for me. Especially in the used car market. Both cars are very similar otherwise. Great dedication in making the video. Good luck!

Sorry, a lot of your info is incorrect. I have a 2019 S5, it has a wireless charging pad, it’s under the armrest. Rear heated seats are on option in the cold weather package. Ventilated seats are available too. You can also get a panoramic sunroof

It actually probably wouldnt be lol. This guy is very clearly Audi biased, he had no knowledge of any performance mods (newer at the time but they were 100% around when this video was made) and the stinger is EASILY able to be modded for way less AND get much more power than S5. Not to mention, he took "reported" 0-60 times of the Audi that were under stock times and ignored the fact there have been timed reports from other performance sites that clocked a stock Stinger in at 4.4. JB4 Tune and Intakes easily would beat S5 performance wise you gain 75+ HP and 125+ torque for 1k in mods.
Keep in mind, they actually went and tested these a year and a half later. In standard mode the Stinger walked the S5, in sport mode once S5 was using launch control (they didnt use launch control on the stinger) the S5 had about 1 - 2 car length win and from a roll the S5 was initially slightly quicker but still lost cause Stinger overtook at top end. This was stock vs stock (actually S5 had intakes done) so it wouldnt even be a fair comparison with a simple JB4 tune added, thats whats really crazy is it takes almost nothing comparatively to be able to gap the S5 and most mustangs / 392 scat packs that are ONLY sports cars.

There's definitely performance parts for the stinger, check burger motorsports or tork tuning. I just have a hard time justifying the price difference between an s5 and the stinger, like I'm sure the Audi is nicer but is it seriously worth 15k more? If the kia is 90% of the car I don't think the remaining 10% is worth that much more. But I dislike it when people put too much emphasis on badges most of all. We drive cars, not brands. I appreciate your review and sense of humor, and I hope I don't come off too negatively.

The Audi is very compelling, especially the A5 with a little bit of modding, which brings the price much closer to a stinger. That VAG 2.0 tsi is well known being in so many vehicles. I can admit I also like being a little different so that's another reason I like the stinger.
I like the Audi S5, I actually liked it more than the RS5 lol i did a comparison between the a5 s5 and rs5 and still picked the S5. Kia Stinger needs more power, better brakes, sportier suspension system and louder exhaust to get to audi s5 level. I wouldn't dare to take the Stinger in track bone stock. Thats my take on it. Great car nonetheless
@@falkin42 It depends on if you want the refinement of the Audi. Kia, doesn't really have a "Lexus" division like Hyundai does with the "Genesis." And Genesis can get sporty. But I don't think the G70 that's on the same platform as the Stinger can deliver the refinement and solidity of Audi. Not yet. In time they may.

You should really compare the S5 to RS5 again. I had the S5 and switched to RS5. The difference can really be felt at higher speeds. When you punch the gas on the S5 at 70 mph, the feel in acceleration is not overwhelming. When you punch the gas on the RS5, it is downright fierce! It just feels like it will not stop pulling and pulling hard. That’s where the 100 ft/lb difference in torque comes in. You will be at 125 mph before you know it. Also, there is right at 1 second difference in 0-60 time

Sam CarLegion Very true. However Lexus and Acura are luxury brands of Toyota and Honda which have pretty much dominated the market since the late 60s here in North America. Hyundai on the hand with its luxury brand Genesis used to be for the people who didn’t want to spend much money for a corolla or Civic, went to go buy a cheaper Hyundai Excel which was much subpar to its Japanese counterparts. I’m not hating on the Kia but I think it’s anywhere close to the prestige of an Audi. When the Lexus LS400 came out, when I was a mere kid, it was a beautiful car. The fit and finish and the drive, won the hearts of many, and being a Toyota deep down inside wasn’t an issue because Toyota had already established itself as a benchmark. It was was convincing the Mercedes-Benz S class or BMW 7 series drivers to go for Lexus, which wasn’t a heart sale. I will never a Hyundai (Genesis/Kia) as I do a Toyota (Lexus). Built quality and overall luxury shows deep in a Lexus. Hyundai and it’s products are nice but so nice to be in comparable mindset of an Audi. Please don’t take offence, it’s just my personal opinion. When you have the money, buy something proper and not settling for mediocre (Kia/Genesis).

We don't all by cars for prestige. Even those of us with money, shop based on what we get for our money. I could care less what someone else's opinion is of what I drive. It doesn't dictate what I have in the bank or what I own. After all, we are still talking about depreciating assets. It's not like the instant you drive these cars off of the lot, that they GAIN value. They all lose value. The interior of the Audi is nicer for sure, but considering I can get a similarly equipped Stinger for $30,000 less, that's where I'd put my money because I don't rent, I mean lease, cars.
Don’t forget to factor in maintenance cost. My previous Audi would cost $350+ for every service. My Stinger GT2 cost me $35 at the dealer. With the extra money I saved between the two, I threw on a Borla exhaust and I have much more fun in it than I did in my Audi.

I’ve owned an A8 for 10years. Just got rid of it due the high cost of ownership. Once it goes bad it seemed to all go bad….the xm receiver, struts, video screen, and other electronic gremlins. An Audi not under warranty is just a an automated cash machine for Audi. Don’t get me wrong. I loved my audi. It was a great car before things started going south. Comfortable. Fast, held lots of stuff, pass through ski sack and the winter. It served its purpose wonderfully. But just like any Getman vehicle that’s not under warranty it will bleed you dry if you let it. If you’re going to buy a car and keep it for past what is a typical 3yr rental ….. I mean lease…..then I’d go with the Kia.

Had a 2020 gt1 stinger for 3 years now have a 2022 s5 sportback. Don't get me wrong I loved my stinger and it was fast but the s5 is alittle faster and has the potential to get way more power and speed the the kia could get with the same modifications.

The Canadian version of the Kia Stinger GT Limited has adaptive suspension. Also costs about $20 000 less than a similarly equipped A5 (with the added expensive options to match the Kia).

Umm.... This is not a 2020 Kia Stinger in this video. That is to say that the shifter and rear badging do not match my 2020 Kia Stinger GT1.

For the record the back seats aren’t comparable. Both have headroom issues but the Stinger has way more legroom.

U have a bunch of accessories for Stingers :) even carbon coated BORLA exhaust systems. ECU can be remapped gaining +150HP, both turbos swapped to slightly bigger ones. Exterior does not need any mods though... ;) well... maybe except a rear wing and swapping plastic to carbon fiber elements... Stinger comes in full option (3 additional orderable packs are worth $ 3k altogether)... While to get a well equipped Audi U need to add circa $ 40k to the base price, which already is a pretty tiny monster for the wallet.
The Audi may seem expensive, but there is a reason why. Also kia stole audi designer.

Well that designer came up with a lot more interesting designs for Kia than he did for Audi. Audi used to be stunning inside and out. Now Audi seems conservative and safe. That's not to knock the actual cars which are highly refined. But they're not that stylish anymore, in my opinion.

I have driven the RS7, which is similar in terms of size to the S7, diesel vs petrol? I think the answer is clear, petrol. If you don't care about power but you need space s7 is the way to go.
