I was literally watching yesterday Audi S5 on sales and watching reviews on UA-cam. I cant explain how perfect the timing is of this video, I completely fell in love with this car
This pre-facelift looks so much better than the current. I like the rims on the new one, they'd look great on this one. Really tastefully modded - I used to have a 2018 sportback in white with the grey leather, absolutely loved it. Beautiful example
A simple flash with 034 Stage 1 E85 tune puts this at 480 Hp / 600 lb ft TQ. It’s VERY fun and a great daily driver. I used to have this S5, but now have the S4 of the same Gen.

This platform is getting very popular, people are realising that B9 S4/S5 are a very capable car, as a daily driver and when it comes to tuning and modifications, the interior and exterior looks, along with the performance makes it one of the best all rounders for me! i may be bias though, as i own an S5 coupe myself, in the UK i find the S5 sportbacks are alot more common then the coupes
I just picked up an s5 coupe with 50k miles and am in love. How long have you had yours/how many miles have you put on it? Any problems to look out for?
@@jjhyman6820 ive had mine since May 2021, ive put 20k miles on mine since i had it, not had any issues, people tell me that water pumps and thermostats can become an issue but they need changing on any car after certain amount of years/mileage, other then just maintenance expenses, ive changed tyres, brake pads and oil changes
@jay johnson s5 is one of the smoothest cars I've ever driven. Ride is superb and comfy, and Quattro keeps you glued to the road man. Still puts a smile on my face every time I hop in. I also test drove a c43 amg and that thing was MUCH stiffer than the s5. Part of the reason I went with the audi over the benz

I am also looking into an 034 tune, and plan on getting an intercooler/intake. Could you tell me what exhaust mods you did? And any other mods besides the ones I mentioned?
M340i it looks so fugly.. exactly the same with 320d..c43 is fugly as a sedan..the coupe it's amazing but way more expensive than s5 about 10k@@CheaterMega

@@justty4977 i really think it should be fine, at least for the engine, i'm not quite sure for the turbo because i don't know how much safe limit the tuner put. but the engine is strong if u keep up with maintenance, lots of people been pushing over 600 hp with stage 3 (upgraded turbo).
I dont get the constant hate on the zf 8hp in terms of speed. They are as fast as DCT, especially with stage 1 tune. Just check the video, it shifts mad quick
Some people are stuck in the old days where torque converter automatics used to be slow, it's as simple as that. Like I said in another comment, I'd take this ZF8 over any DCT out there, except for the PDK. The low speed jerkiness of DCTs make me lose my mind.
The ZF's are incredibly strong as well. Very similar to the ZF's that Dodge slaps into the Demon, Hellcat Durango and Trackhawk. They're built to move heavy ass vehicles really quickly. I had one in my Scatpack charger and it's a fast transmission that never had to hunt for the right gear and was super smooth and relaxed when it wasn't in sport mode. The speed/power of shifting when it was put into sport mode vs comfort is hugely different.
Love my 6 speed B8.5 S5! Unitronic stage 3+ and bolt ons brought me just over 500 hp, and was doing around 404 to the wheels on a mustang dyno. Besides being super heavy, it’s a great car.
What I would do is leave the chrome, on these types of cars I like chromo more then everything being blacked out. This is a classy yet sporty and pretty car so that’s why. Really want one :D
I actually really like the ZF gearbox here and wish it had been available on the earlier generation S4/S5. The DSG used on the B8 S4 seem to die prematurely, with a huge bill, even if you discount the usual forum doom and gloom
@@KK001 special shift configuration in gearbox, which is only enabled during launch. Stands for acceleration maximum and gives the best possible shifts to go as quick as car can.
I'd take the ZF8 over pretty much any DCT except maybe the PDK. Since there's no gear preselection it shifts consistently so you can't catch it off guard, and doesn't jerk at low speeds like almost every DCT out there making me lose my mind.
Agree 100%. I have a B9 S5 and before that I had a B8 w/ the DSG and I hated the low speed jerky behavior. The shift speed in the B9 is as fast, if not quicker, and has much more usability in daily driving situations.
Audi still does the mirrors for S and RS cars. Many of them now have black optics or carbon optics so you don't see it as much, but it's def still a thing
In my opinion the S5 looks better than the RS5, cause those fake air vents around the headlights, hate fake vents on sporty cars... also with minor upgrades you reach RS versions power... big "bang for your buck" 👍👍
i want to buy one, the problem is that i found some at a really good price but they already made 200.000 km, that scares me a little, idk how much is the life span of a v6 3.0 tfsi but i think that 200k is already a lot... i don't want it to break as soon as i get it
You didn’t launch it correctly. It shouldnt fart on the upshifts if correctly launched. I have the same car with the same tune snd setup. Great review!
I am driving s5 2015 v6 stage 1 plus supercharger (ECU&TCU), and I am thinking about sell out my current s5 so, which one do you recommend the new s5 or new/old rs3 ?
How is this sound on the inside of thee car? Not to loud? I have the s4 avant version of this car with almost the same mods (same performance numbers) and i was thinking about losing the "end" mufflers and just keep the mid muffler (like this one). I was afraid of it being to loud or drony inside of tthe car as I also daily mine with kids as well.
I was actually cross shopping the C43 and 440i almost a year ago and some C43 owners told me that after a few years the interior becomes rather rattly and not very well put together. Seemed to be a recurring theme with the A-class and C-class in general, but E-class seemed solid. That made me change my mind about the C43, though I didn't go for the M440i and got something completely different in the end. So my advice is to ask yourself how much you wanna keep it and how old the car you're looking at is. If you're planning to keep it for a long time just know there's a chance it'll develop rattles. And no matter what, if one catches your eye go test drive it at regular cruising speeds to see if things rattle. Obviously if you're going for a NEW C43 (the one with the 4cyl) rattles probably won't be a problem for a long time. If however you're shopping between the old C43 and the new M440i (the 374HP one) there's no comparison - M440i every time. But it's gonna be more expensive.

Only issue with S5's are their sound, the tune is simply not as aggressive as Jaguar or Mercedes - but you do get an Ok sound an 4 outrageous tailpipes lol.

I must agree the Navarro Blue and limited bright trim with lovely alloy wheels makes for a really gorgeous S5. Gorgeous & tasteful.

This car is perfect. Sounds insane with an intake and downpipe. The ZF 8-Speed is much better for daily driving than the DSG imo.

Because people have their mind frozen in 2005, when the ZF6 was slower compared with DSG 6.

I think you can still choose aluminium mirror caps to S/RS models, but is it an option these days??

It sound almost stock when you just cruise on the autobahn. I have 2 childeren also and even my wife doest think its loud

Think the zf can handle about 1000nm if it is the same one they use in the rs6/rs7
I have this same engine in my S4 at 800nm on E85. Handles it very well. 034 did very well on this tune.
