Finally a recipe that is easy. Question? Can you cook with a clay pot on an electric stove? I see that you are cooking on a glass electric, I have coils. Will my type of stove crack the clay pot? Or should this only be used in the oven?
Urban Uptowner You can cook on any stovetop
I love how you incorporated ABC Kecap Manis into this dish, as an Indonesian I feel honored, wonderful dish, I will try making this!
Hello! 😃 Thank you for the recipe! Where did you find a clay pot that can be used on a glass top stove?

Oh Mai,
You've done it again! Hot pot catfish is one of my favorites. I don't know if I've tried the coconut soda before, but I will.
Wish I'd had this recipe back in March when I was in a charity catfish tournament. Our team came in third place with 309# of catfish for the weekend. Fresh out of the river catfish would have been delicious in this recipe!!

You're a life saver!!!
I like your recipe. Cook in Claypot. The canned Coco makes the Cat Fish sweet and No MSG.🐺
How long does it take from beginning to end? Thank you!
Charles Tran maybe 30 mins if you know what you’re doing.
Thank you!
looks great!
Looks amazing
Can you substitute the coco Rico soda for something else?
Franchesca Deleon Yes, with coconut water or just regular water
Mai food haven thank you 😊
I used sprite and added some coconut flakes actually work pretty good
What is roco soda
le tran Rico Coco is a carbonated coconut flavored soda. I like using this in many of my recipes because the carbonation tenderize meat/fish. The soda is sweet so you don't need to add sugar and the sweet coconut flavor add more depth to food. It's an ingredient my mom often uses and I have come to do the same. :)
@@Maifoodhaven , What if you don't have the access to Rico Coco, What can I use instead?
Beurself she just said sugar
@@82beautiful Maybe coconut water would be a good substitute
Where can I buy a clay pot?
You can get it any Asian market
Vow, how easy your lesson, love it
Thank you!
Hi
What is roco soda?
It's kinda like coco soda
can I use Maggi soy sauce?
I don’t think the taste will be the same, nor the way it’s caramelized.
why add coco soda??
They taste better than just plain water and add sweetness
Is there a good substitute for the coco rico?
Coconut water or water
And coconut juice
+Mai food haven Thanks for the tip and awesome video!
Hmmm. I always thought clay pots were put into the oven?
Yum yum yum! You probably have the best version of this recipe!
Hi:) can you add red wine instead of the soda? thank you
Dailyx1 No, just add water then.
What's that sweet soy sauce called in Vietnamese?
Here is the link www.efooddepot.com/products/abc/2964/abc-kecap-manis-(sweet-soy-sauce)--hy--21fl-oz.html
ABC Original Sweet Soy Sauce (Kecap Manis)
+Mai food haven thank you!
how long does it take to caramelize?
Ashley Ha It depends on your stove temperature but it should be no more than 10mins. I normally let the liquid reduce to a thick sauce and once the color turns to a nice dark amber color that's when I know it's ready.
