Helen, we are from South America. I cooked for my wife and she asked who told you how to make this great recipe and I said is secret. EXCELENTE. Thank you
Tony Nguyen & Vô Danh, do not get jealous, she is the Queen of Vietnamese cuisine, and their videos are very good, besides she is pretty, what do you think? Respectful greetings
hi Helen, i love all your cooking videos. They are so easy to follow and I have tried alot of them..I'm half vietnamese. ´Vietnamese food has never interested me before because I find it really time consuming making it..But after watching your cooking videos, i started to like cooking viet food. As u know my husband is a good cook and when he commented my cooking is good thats means it really good..:-))thanks for your cooking videos. Keep up the good work Helen!..
Unbelievably simple and delicious! I made it yesterday and my husband requested that I make it again today! Great job, Helen ... your channel is going to expand my waistband! :)
made this last week and it was deliciousss!! i seared it first, before putting in oven so that the skin could be more crispy (less healthy but oh well:) love your recipes, you're always my go-to for yummy Vietnamese recipes!! thank you Helen!
There is no substitute for five-spice powder, but you can make your own with 3 cinnamon sticks, 5 star anise, 1 1/2 teaspoons fennel seeds, 1 1/2 teaspoons whole cloves and 3/4 teaspoon black peppercorns. Grind in a coffee or spice grinder until finely ground.
Helen! I love you! I've been following many of your receipts esp chicken cooking and my Turkish husband loves all of them! I live in Newyork, so if you have any chance to visit NY, let me know. I would love to meet up! All the best! ❤️❤️❤️
Helen con tre tuoi ma nau an gioi qua'...Chi cung rat thich nau an nen xem videos cua em de lay them kinh nghiem. Em co nhieu cooking tricks ma chi thay rat hay. Cam on em da lam ra nhung videos rat hay va ro rang.
Such comments like yours give me great motivation for my work, Bichlien. Thanks a lot for that. And you made your husband compliment on the food! I am really proud of you! :)
It smells so delicous Helen...I love it very much..My Mom used to do it for me when I was in Vietnam...Maybe I will try to do it for dinner..Thanks for your video...I love you hehe...
Yes, you can sear the chicken on both sides with a lillte oil and add in coconut soda/coconut juice/water and cook until the sauce evaporates. It tastes even better that way :P
Thanks Helen! I made this for dinner last Saturday night, and it was extraordinary! I would post a picture here to show you how it turned out, but I'm afraid UA-cam won't let me do that...
It depends on the oven. Some can make the skin crispy. But this recipe is not meant to make crispy roasted chicken. I made "ga roti", not "ga nuong da gion" hihi
Could skin it and simmer if one is conscious of fat intake. :) I love how someone else uses the microwave scallion oil method! I like it as it is so lazy but i find it tastes better to heat the oil on the hob.
Hi, Helen thank you for a good video. The recipe looks so easy. I think I will try it later at dinner. I thought cooking is the hardest thing to do because it has so many ingredients to combine to make the food taste so good. But since I watched many of your videos I have learned a lot. Thanks again Helen.
I love Ga Roti! I remember when I was living in LA there's a restaurant there that makes heavenly Ga Roti and Hainam Chicken!! Thanks for the recipe. Can't wait to try it soon.
If made this chicken tonight for dinner and my husband loved it!!! He kept going back for more and more! I will continue making this as it was super easy! I paired it with steamed rice and nuoc mam!
I'm putting the ingredients on my groceries list for this week. Can't wait to try it! Never knew it could be so easy. Thanks for always simplifying Viet recipes, Helen! Have a great weekend!

chị ơi cho e hỏi,nhà e k có lò nướng,sử dụng lò vi sóng thì nướng trong bao lâu hả c.vì sử dụng lò vi sóng nên e cũng k biết cụ thể mỗi chế độ tương đương với bao nhiêu độ c ạ
Hi chi Helen!! Neu em ko co bot ngu vi huong, em co nen thay the bang gia vi nao khac dc ko? Va em nen thay the bang loai gia vi nao? Ti le gia vi nhu the nao?
You can turn many of my recipes into vegetarian by replacing meat with mushrooms or mock meat; and fish sauce with soy sauce. For example, skip the meat in banh bao (steamed bun); replace fish sauce with soy sauce in Dau phu sot ca chua (Tofu in tomato sauce), use mushroom fillings for banh xeo (Viet crepes) etc. But I will make a vid for my favourite vegan dish soon hihi
Helen, How did you learn to cook so many dishes? Are you going to cooking school? I hope you don't mind me asking so many questions. I have watched almost all your videos.
Helen, First off, I'd like to say "I love ya!!!" Then, I love your channel. I love your way of presentation. Love your videos which are "to the point and clear". Love your various methods of making our traditional dishes. You do think outside of the box. And last but not least, love your voice. Your English isn't perfect if you were born and raised here in the US. However, for someone who lives in VN, your English is awesome the way it is. Your accent is very soothing and super cute. Keep up the good work and wish you all the success in life. I subscribed and bell notificated!!! (By the way, I don't think there is a word "notificated", but you know what I meant) Em gái giỏi và dể thương lắm!!!
Amazing recipe, made this multiple times and planning to make it again soon!
This is one of my favorite recipes from you. I've made this countless times and it never disappoints. Thanks Helen!
Whoever lives with you is really lucky to have food made by you everday.

They actually fried them. Nowasays, using the Air Fryer is an ideal idea 😊
