Anybody out there from the 1970’s? 80’s, etc.? TCA Peels are amazing. It is not too late to reverse sun damage. Those disgusting age spots? Off they come. Seriously. Melasma. Gone. My pores appear smaller. All this weird lumpy skin wasn’t wrinkles like I thought. It was layered dead skin on top of plugged pores. Comedones grouped together. I now see the pores on my forehead. I am amazed. I’ve done 3 peels. First two were practice so I didn’t scare myself. Third really made a difference. If you’re on a budget fit this in. You deserve it. ❤❤❤❤
So happy that you are getting amazing results! I too am a 70's child. Baby oil and sun. LOL. Takes some time to be rid of all that - but with a great daily regimen, and some peels - we are right where we need to be.
Yes, ethnic skin particularly will darken prior to flaking. As long as you prepped with a melanin inhibitor for 3-4 weeks and used a milder %, you should have a great chance of this turning out Very Very well. :) Avoid the sun as well. SPF 50.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I’ve decided to give it another go months later. Just an update. My PIH has faded considerably after treating with topicals like HQ and retin A and Fadebright and vitamin drips. I’m focusing on my TCA 7 around my eyes and even decided to use it for my lip area. I’m up to 3 layers of TCA 7 and already have my 13 after I make it through this series. No 20 for me. Thanks Jen 😍
I know this was a year ago, but please, did you start using Fade Bright right after your peel or what day did you start? I’m dark skinned & my mouth looks crazy lol. I only did the Mandelic 22% for 5 min.
I’m new to your products and soon to be 49. 😊Did my first TCA 13% peel with two layers and also 7% for the eyes two layers as well. Been using retinA for 14 years and definitely I look much better than women my age that don’t do anything to their face. I don’t have any V between my eyebrows and I am not interested in fillers, Botox etc. My peel is coming along nicely on day 3 just like it was advised, peeling nicely. I’m grateful I came across your website/info by accident!💕 This will take my maintenance to the next level. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and details on your videos is priceless! I don’t have a circle of women into anti-aging, but I’ll definitely tell anyone willing to listen! Thank you again! 🤗
Thank you so much! I am so happy to be a part of your skin regimen. The great thing about TCA ... its benefits are cumulative! Just do your 1x per month peel and TAKE PHOTOS... they will keep you moving forward. *After that 3rd photo there is NO turning back. Enjoy. :)
I'm a man and had ordered the 13% TCA. I did the one layer with no problems. Two seeks later, did a two layer. Yesterday I did the first three layer. Day two the skin feels good, and looks pretty good. I'm pretty sure I can tolerate a 4 or 5. I'll go through several 5 layer peels, and then see about bumping up to the 20%. Slow and steady, right..? I've noticed that right after the peel and the next day, my skin is pretty smooth looking. After it peels, it somewhat reverts back a little. But I really think if I keep on using this product that little by little the large pores and small scars will even out.
Peels are a progression. Take your TIME moving forward. Adding on lots of layers at once is never ok. If you see any blanching/frosting that means to STOP. So allow ample time after each layer. 5 minutes minimum. SLOW and STEADY wins the race. :)
I wish you would have covered when you can go back to using Retin-A; you mention jumping in very soon with your own proprietary retinol product-but Retin-A is much stronger. I’m going to assume you can start back in with Retin-A late on day 2 if you have stronger skin…?
When your skin is completely done flaking ... and is feeling "normal" again .. you can go back to your Daily Regimen. If you experience any irritation just stop for a few more days.
You are the absolute best!!! You should give a webinar to business professionals on how to be a honest and informed CEO. I love that you are not over pushing your products to anyone that will buy it. You give the pros and cons and not afraid to say start low and slow and to take your time. You are also not giving the miracle in a jar illusion. I am a black woman with PIH and need this type of honesty and information before starting a peel... I Thank you. I want to ask, is it ok to use pure aloe vera for healing. I use Pure Aloe on any scar and they heal quickly .... the PIH come from me picking at a scars.
Thank you so very much! I truly appreciate your kind words. It is very important to me that people are careful and do what is best for the. Aloe would be absolutely fine to use. I find it a bit sticky - but if it works for you... PERFECT!!!
You can use LED immediately post peel. It is healing and antiinflammatory. Great idea for all! We have our masks now too. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/illuminate-face-led-mask/
No. Tretinoin is the Acid form of Vitamin A. We do not want to apply more acids to the skin after a peel. Another form of vitamin A is fine though. .. This is why we suggest the Luminosity: Granactive retinoid, Retinaldehyde, Retinol combo. Those are all OK.
Hello. Fade Bright is a daily product to help turn down the melanin production in the skin. You want to use this for 4 weeks prior to performing a peel if you are Prone to PIH, have Fitzpatrick 4-6 skin .. or want to help prevent any skin color issues ... it is an excellent choice. If you have run out .. it is time to get some more. When your skin is done flaking, you can begin its usage again. :)
@@fullhundred After a peel we want to use products that calm and heal. Emu oil or Essentials Healing blend are both perfect. You may already have a gentle moisturizer or healing oil on hand that you can use. Just avoid acids and irritants until the skin has completed its turnover. SPF 50 is also mandatory right now.
Hello. After you have done a peel you are only going to be using healing products like Emu oil or Essentials Healing Blend ... other oils, or a plain cream. Nothing active will be applied. Gentle and healing.
@@PlatinumSkinCare Yes, they're working. That's why I'm using your products. Your beautiful skin is your biggest advertisement for your products. I can tell you practice what you preach.
Yes I do! Please visit our video page. You will find videos suggesting product recommendations for normal, oily and dry skin types. We have tons of videos!! www.platinumskincare.com/videos/
We are so sorry to hear that. What % did you get and how did you apply it? Where did you get it from? Did you follow all of the directions and Pre-treat your skin if necessary? Did you stay out of the sun and use high SPF? That is a very general statement not geared towards anything tangible. Tell me more and maybe I can help. Ethnic skin that is Olive or darker needs melanin inhibitors for 4+ weeks AND a milder % of the TCA acid itself. *The darker the skin - the milder the % needed to avoid PIH. If you have PIH it can be treated. See here: www.platinumskincare.com/so-you-ended-up-with-pih
Dear Jennifer, you make the best and most informative videos and I greatly appreciate your answers, I’m learning so much. My question is If I don’t have the Luminosity can I used Adapalene gel 0.1% after a TCA 13%? Thank you
You are so welcome! Adapalene is an acid - so I would not apply that after a TCA or Jessners peel. ***You do not NEED to apply a retinoid .. but, it can be helpful. I would choose a milder form like retinol, or retinaldehyde ... our Fusion A luminosity is a great option. We have a small 6ml bottle Just for peels!
Can i use a brush instead of a cotton pad? If i can, how do i know im applying the correct amount? Shake the brush to let any excess drop off and then go ahead? I did my first peel w a qtip cotton bud just so i could be gentle and know if its too much for my skin, it stang but was bearable.
Hello. No cotton pads! They just waste product. Brushes will apply too much solution - and with TCA the volume of solution is VERY important. We want it WET .... just not dripping wet. We need to wet the gauze, then fold it and either Shake it .... or lightly press fingertips a bit to get those extra drops off. You will see a wet haze on the skin when applying that will dry in 5-10 seconds or so. :) Use a Gauze instead! Much easier to control and no wasted solution. Watch this video to answer ALL peel questions and we definitely go over how wet to make that gauze! Here: www.platinumskincare.com/live-peel-party-2023/
I just ran into your oh so thorough and comprehensive videos. I am about to start my chemical peel journey. I have one question. Perhaps it's been answered, and i just missed the information, so I'll ask anyway. Can I use any of the chemical peels to treat and eliminate skin tags or moles? If so, in what way? Thank you for your information
Generally speaking, we suggest things like retinoids to keep your skin turning over quickly. This can help to flush out irregularities before they get started. Antioxidants like vitamin C can help to fill in damaged DNA so they don't keep growing irregular skin tags/moles.... pigmentation problems... Peels like TCA especially, can be used to keep the skin regenerating its healthiest... but those aren't a cure for moles already formed... those are more of a prevention. I would definitely get them checked out by a dermatologist. Here is some information for skin tags: platinumskincare.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/22939597386387-How-can-I-remove-a-Skin-Tag-at-home
Hi, I have done my first peel and I am on the 4th day I wondered if I could go back to using my usual cosmetics? Or do I still need to stick to the calming oil? Many thanks Karolina
Cosmetics - makeup is fine. Skin care products - non-acid is fine. No retinoids. Calm and heal. when you are done flaking you can go back to your normal regimen. :)
Ha ha .. it does a little bit. No one ever said this was going to look Good while you are peeling. :) You can try to do a bit of gentle exfoliating while washing your face. Use a washcloth and you will get off some of those really loose, dead flakes. Then, while your face is still DAMP .. apply your healing oils to lock in whatever moisture you can. Then put on your SPF. This will go on easier than if your skin was DRY and you started to apply products.
We state very clearly in all videos, manuals, literature that frosting is NEVER the goal. We speak to you about it only IF you were to see it so you do not panic. :) IF you see frosting you will stop applying layers - even if you planned on applying more. You do not need to frost/blanch to get peeling.
Yes. As long as it does not cause irritation in your skin. :) Apply it until your skin is starting the Drying process - then stop. Nothing penetrates through this time. When you are all DONE flaking you can go back to your regimen that includes your melanin inhibitors.
Hello. I am so sorry but we just do Not have good luck getting products into Nigeria. They always end up coming back several months later. I would not suggest this purchase. :(
Hi I'm curious why a 20% tca can be layered up to five times but all over 30% in one layer is a no-no? When applying the 7, 13 and 20 percent acids what percent does it increase with each layer?. Love your products by the way 🤩
If you are layering TCA 20 5+ times ... then a TCA 30 peel is just fine. IF ... IF you have reached that (and this is not common and would generally take years of peeling) then you can probably add on a 2nd layer. Keep in mind that the 30% is very very strong. You are really intensifying the strength of that peel by applying More than a single layer. It is not safe and can cause unintended color changes with the skin. Use extreme caution. I can not stress that enough.
Hi, I did the Mandelic Acid 22% last night. Tomorrow I’ll be going on day 3. When can I use Fade Bright? I know this video is from 5 years ago so I’m not sure if I can still use Fade Bright right after a peel or what number day is best? On the website it says to start day 3-4. I have brown skin, I’m prone to PIH, & I experienced a bit of blanching around my mouth from my 5 min 1st time peel. I’m trying to remain patient & optimistic but the only things I’ve been putting on my skin are water, Emu Oil, Cerave Moisturizing Cream, & the Healing Oil. Update: I’m loving the results of my peel!! It’s Day 5 & I haven’t gotten a new pimple. I could cry… this is the first time in months where it’s been a whole week & there’s not at least 3 big painful pimples on my face. My skin is smooth & my hyperpigmentation has lessened so much. I look forward to completing the series of 6 peels. The blanching was totally my fault due to using an acid the day before my peel but Jennifer has been so responsive in helping me heal those small areas of blanching. The rest of my skin looks amazing & I know exactly how to better prep for my next peel. 💖
As long as your skin tolerates it well you can apply FB after rinsing and for the first few days. Once the skin starts to dry/thicken though, it is not necessary. The product will not penetrate. Let your flaking end and then you can go back to your regular regimen - including the FB. Caution to STOP use of retinoids and leave-on stronger acids (like Serum 15) for 4-6 days Prior to your peel application to help prevent this.
Depending on your skin coloring, and how strong the peel was, layers applied .... you can indeed have some dark, dead skin sitting on your face. This is normal and when it is ready to start shedding... it will all just come off. NO sun. SPF 50 and shade if you are going outdoors.
OK, this is the time to admit that after a couple of years of enjoying this host's tutorials (sorry, I don't know her name despite all this time!), I've finally started ordering from Platinum and am awaiting my first two orders. I have been doing peels though from Perfect Image with great results. Specifically, 15% TCA layered with 20% Salicylic. Now - here's my question: I always see people suffering after their peels for the obvious reasons - but also because they're using only Vaseline for post care. I love Vaseline but it offers no hydration, just occlusive protection. However, I always soak my post-peel devastated skin with simple but potent hydrators and humectants, then I occlude with antioxidant oils, then I wrap it all up with a nice Aveeno oat moisturiser. So why is it so often recommended that you just Vaseline over your peel? It just seems so uncomfortable and unneccesary.
Oh, ps: my first Platinum orders are for Super Cop 2x (I love the regular Super Cop and have already been using for a while via another distributor). My second order is for the 7%. GHK booster, which I will be diluting into an Argireline, Matrixl blend that I have waiting. Also getting the Dream Peel Retinol in that order. My third order (not done yet, but waiting for payday) will be the 20% TCA, 25% Salicylic and another Super Cop (not the 2x version).
Hi there.. Jen here! We usually do not recommend to use Vaseline (Aquaphor better option) after a TCA peel for the exact reasons you are stating. There is nothing to hydrate the skin. I like to do this: wash, while skin is moist apply Nano Hyaluronic (holds water) then I top with emu oil. **On the rare occasion that I need to look a bit more "normal" at work, I will add a tiny amount of aquaphor on top to keep the skin flecks together longer. Some don't like to purchase the oils we recommend and then an OTC that is available everywhere would be Aquaphor as an option for them if their moisturizer is not heavy enough.
@@PlatinumSkinCare So honoured to get a reply, thank you Jen. I absolutely know I'm in with the heavy-hitter orders and am planning my dilution strategy accordingly. Right now, I'm in peel recovery (day 3-4, the worst days) and just wanted to say something, because it's anxious times. My skin is doing fine, but this morning's shower (day 3 coming to 4) I just sloughed off under the water. All of it came off just in warm running water. So, given the new and fragile skin I used just serum hydration (like, galactomyces and amino acid water toners) and some copper peptides and just occluded. Going to bed now. Skin will be fine. It's just so weird how quickly your skin sloughs when it's used to peeling.
I just want to point out that people have asked about using The Ordinary retinol or their favorite moisturizer for post care and PSC is NOT discouraging this at all. How often do you contact a company and ask if you can use your own products & they tell you that they do not know how those products will work with your skin but we do know that our products will do the job. PSC does not pressure you to buy ALL their products. You can if you wish but your retinol or your cleanser or your kiwi seed oil can also work. Truly amazing. I wish all companies were flexible like this
Once your skin has completely finished flaking from any chemical peel or our Dream Peel, you can start back up on your normal regimen. If for some reason your skin is still a bit sensitive, then wait a few more days before incorporating irritants such as tretinoin [retinA] or acid serums.
I have a question about the bottle) If I do only one layer for the first time and I have still have acid left in the bottle, can I keep it for the next time? If yes, how should I keep it? In which temperature? Thanks a lot
We don't carry any LED products or have detailed information on them. I have heard that some are great to use after peels and treatments for healing. I want to say that is the RED light? What we want is just to be sure that any lights you use after a peel don't cause any heat in the skin. I believe most LED are just fine.
@@PlatinumSkinCare thank you!! I use red and near-infrared led light therapy for healing after other procedures, but strangely have not been able to find much information about use of LED after TCA peels. It makes sense to ensure no additional heat is getting into the skin. Thank you so much for the reply!! 🤗🤗
Hello. The Essential Healing Blend has very different oils in it specifically meant for reducing inflammmation and healing. Essential FX has retinoid type oils and bakuchiol. They may both be oil blends... but have quite different uses. :)
Hello, I ordered my first TCA peel. On a regular basis I use Alpha arbutin and Niacinamide. What are some of the melanin inhibitors you would suggest other than platinum products that I can use after my first peel?
@@sanasana675 So you did a TCA peel. ... We generally recommend 1 month prior to doing any other peels. ... even milder ones. There is a downtime that must be followed. NOW .. if you are only referring to a glycolic SERUM (you don't specify) then that is fine once your peeling is completed
Fade Bright is our product available on our website here: www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/ You can use another product containing alpha arbutin or hydroquinone.
Is it normal to see what appears to be "new texture irregularities" before the peeling begins... wrinkles yes.. but it appears to be textural unevenness under there... is this just the dead skin lifting or could the acid have absorbed differently at different spots? If so, would that be permanent?
Oh... please do not worry about what you are seeing on and in the Dead skin that is drying in preparation of removal. There is nothing for you there. :) Wait until the skin comes off entirely and THEN take a good look. It will be just fine.
One more question Jen - I have noticed some super potent peptide options. Have you done vids on those yet? I was going to get a potion of 4 thing from Platinum, but am unsure. It would be great to get a vid because I'm not sure if syn-ake (I think it's like Argeriline?) or EGFs (I'm currently getting Oligopeptide 8 from Midnight Blue/Klairs) or whatever. I don't know. What's the deal with the super potent peptides?
Hello. Yes, we have a video on how to work with them. Each one has it's own page on our website. You can purchase individually or we can combine them together in a 2 or 4 potion option. Syn-Ake, argeriline, snap 8, Leuphasyl.. they are all BTX alts. I love the combination of SynTC + Citrustem (collagen and elastin) Here: www.platinumskincare.com/dr-platinum-potions-concentrated-actives/
Tattoo ink goes so very deep in the skin. You can try TCA 30. It will require a lot of treatments and many, many layers. Take pictures and document to your progress if you give it a try. We would love to know if you see results.
Thanks for the very elaborate video! I have a question about TCA body peeling. How long should I wait before I use the Glycolic and Lactic body wash for showering? How long should I wait before I can use the Triple Treat Body Lotion? Also, can I keep using tretinoin and hydroquinone after peeling or should I wait? Thanks again!
Sure, here is our body peeling video: ua-cam.com/video/tx-UkmxvOgI/v-deo.html You can generally use the bodywash the next day - but skip that if it is irritating to you. *It is very helpful once your body actually starts flaking (2-4 weeks later) to help get the dead skin off. The Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion can be used as soon as your skin feels normal. I will use it a few days after my peel - but some people are more sensitive and need to stay away for a week or more. I find it very helpful when your skin is flaking and you need a bit to get it off more quickly.
See here on melasma: www.platinumskincare.com/how-to-treat-melasma-daily-products-peels/ and here: www.platinumskincare.com/how-to-treat-melasma-interview/ You can do a spot peel every so often if you wish. But, always aim to do a full face peel every couple times ... or your skin will become uneven.
I’d just like to say your customer service is amazing. You’ve answered just about ever question I have! What numbing cream would you recommend as I’m a wimp with pain lol. Also- could I later the TCA 13 after I do the cross method with the TCA 30? I want to do the cross treatment, but since it’s my first time I was going to start with the lowest percentage for my whole face. Ps- you look great! So youthful! You definitely sold me lol.
Also love that I can still dermapen! I’m going to peel, wait 3 weeks, then peel again 2 weeks later so I hit that 5 week mark. You don’t think that’s overkill do you? Definitely don’t want to damage or disrupt my collagen making process!
I would suggest any of the caine products. Either a lidocaine prilocaine mix or just lidocaine. You will be able to find them on Amazon and other places like that. Thank you so much!!!
I was too careful and applied the peel too lightly. The skin was’nt wet after applying the solution with guaze pad. Can I re do the whole process? How many days I can wait to re apply the peel?
Platinum Skin Care isn’t aquaphor almost the same consistency as Vaseline. On the video it states to not put on Vaseline as it doesn’t let the skin breath
Most can use their normal daily cleansers right after a peel. I use my AB Cleanser that has 11% acid always. **If for some reason your cleanser is burning or causing you irritation... then you will want to use something milder for sure.
Thank you so much! now if I do a strong TCA and I still have my old melanin inhibitor that contains Lactic acid, Salicylic acid, Morinda Citrifolia extract, 4-butylresorcinol and Kojic acid can I use this one????
Many times a treatment product can be applied after rinsing your peel and it will penetrate very well into the skin. IF your HQ causes you irritation though - please skip this and wait until a few days. IF your skin tolerates it well ... go ahead and apply and then follow with your healing products.
Yes, to the hydroquinone. If you are using Platinum Skin Care's Luminosity post peel...you will not use the Retinoid product. Luminosity is a strong retinol aftercare product that works as a peel booster. So you do not want to apply Luminosity with another Retinol product on sensitive skin post peel.
@@PlatinumSkinCare I don’t have the luminosity, but I have the retinoids 2% emulsion only and hydroquinone. So I shouldn’t use it? I haven’t peeled yet.
After how many weeks we can get laser treatment and microneedling ? I have done 13% Tca peel 2 weeks ago , Skin has fully recovered from redness and peeling..
Hi Jenifer . I did two peels of tca 13% two layers and one spot treatment layer on both occasions and I am week away for my third peel but my Melasma patches gone more prominent. I’m following all skin care religiously. What can be the reason my Melasma patches are going darker ? Is there any thing I’m not doing it right ? Can you please advise? Thanks
Sunscreen! Very important to use an SPF 50 daily. Pretreating with Fade Bright for at least 2-3 weeks before your peel is really important. I suggest continuing to use Fade Bright daily in your daily regimen as well. Vitamin C in the morning, retinol at night. If you are doing all of these....and not getting the results you need, it may be time to seek help from your dermatologist who can prescribe a stronger melanin inhibitor.
What is in the fade bright? I have vitamin c or niacinamide or arbutin are they similar? I am in the UK and it took 8 weeks for this to turn up (I got the TCA 13 it’s my first time) it wasn’t your fault it was cause of the virus so I can’t wait that long for the enzyme mask so I need to use what I have here already, also I have Perscription tretinoin can I use that in place of the luminosity one? I’m nervous I’m doing it tomorrow 🤞 oh and what about a Dermawand how long do I wait before and after?
The main ingredient is alpha arbutin to help slow melanin production in the skin. Then it also has azelaic, kojic and resveratrol. All to help lighten pigmentation. Everything is explained on the page here: www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
How long will my skin look dry ans wrinkled? I did one pass of 20 percent all over then a couple days later around my eyes and forehead. It’s been 5 days no peel just really dry making me look older!!
Your skin will start flaking anytime now. 3-5 days post peel is Normal and to be Expected. It will indeed look worse before it peels. Darker, dry... older looking. :) All good! Hydrate well and get ready to PEEL!!
I believe you are asking for RetinA as opposed to the Luminosity .50 Retinol, correct? Retinol does not convert into retinoic acid until it gets deeper into the skin. That makes it NOT irritating. RetinA is the straight retinoic acid right off the bat. That makes it potentially more irritating when applying to the freshly treated skin. You may certainly try - and if it is NOT irritating then great. If it IS irritating though, please rinse it off.
Destiny Atkinson you may use which ever oil or cream or serum that you choose. We prefer the emu oil due to its properties. www.platinumskincare.com/emu-oil-pure-certified/
Yes, you will leave the peel on during the layering process. Do not rinse in between layers. After your final layer is on....wait 5 minutes and then rinse with cold water .
Tretinoin is the acid form of Vitamin A... that can be irritating and cause a more aggressive dryness and possible cracking. We generally recommend the retinol because it doesn't cause that irritation.
@@aka1998100 Hello. Certainly. Once any shedding is done you may go back to your normal regimen. *IF anything is burning then step back for a few more days until its comfortable.
Hi, I did a 25% peel from another company. Not that this one isn’t just as good but I just ordered your 20% because I just want to try it. When can I do another peel. My skin is kinda of tough, I do lactic acid peels weekly. So I was wondering if I can do a 20% in another 2 weeks or so since I want to do it before the summer is here. It doesn’t start to get super hot until like June-July in my area.
Lactic peels are very very mild. They can be done weekly. With the TCA though, that is a very high percentage and I don't know how many layers you applied. I would "guesstimate" that you need to wait at least 5 weeks before you do another one.
@@lovelysmith275 You will always follow the recommendations of the LAST ACID you applied. If it was a glycolic or lactic - you only need to wait a week to do another (any) peel. If you did a TCA though - you must follow those recommendations of around 2-5 weeks. Then you can do another acid. Don't get confused and think that you can just do milder peels WHILE you are waiting to do another TCA. That is NOT going to get you anywhere but with highly reactive and irritated skin and possibly pigmentation. Be patient. That is the name of the peel game.
You could apply that immediately after rinsing without any irritation. Then your healing products. Once the skin starts to dry though (next day or following) I would stop use - as it isn't going to get through the skin at that point. No need to waste. Once its done flaking go right back to your daily regimen.
Absolutely - and we give you directions with your peel so that you can do just that! Also you can watch our dilution video: www.platinumskincare.com/how-to-dilute-acid-peels/
Can a gentle moisturizer be used throughout the after care process or do we need to stop once the skin start peeling? I would think applying moisturizer would help with the flaking process or does that prolong flaking?
Absolutely you can use your favorite moisturizer after your peel. Just follow the rule "If it burns - rinse it off and try again in a few days" ... as some can contain ingredients that could cause irritation such as acids. We want to avoid those for 5 days or so at least. Moisturizer after a peel is definitely recommended. We usually recommend the oils since they are more hydrating.
Can you please clarify the order of products to apply SOON after a TCA 20 body peel on the legs? Do I apply first the triple treat body lotion THEN fade bright then retinol 0.1 ( is this needed for legs) and finally emu oil ? Or do I apply retinol 0.1 then emu oil ? This is about what to apply immediately after I do a TCA 20 peel. Then at what point do I “restart” the peel prep ( the triple treat plus fade bright routine) for the second peel a month later. I have olive skin . I watched that video for dark skin but still unclear
I would wait a couple of days to make sure your skin is not irritated before applying too many things. Fade Bright is generally ok and then something hydrating like emu oil or a shea butter on the legs. After a couple of weeks have gone by and you want to try and speed up any sloughing... you can use the Triple Treat 25% body lotion every day to help with that.
I would not apply Tretinoin after a TCA or Jessners peel. You want to avoid acids after a peel treatment. If you had hydroquinone alone.. that would be fine to apply after rinsing the peel off and maybe one more day. *Once the skin starts to DRY... nothing is going to penetrate and products would be wasted. PIH is done mostly with Prevention. You need to apply your melanin inhibitors 1-2x per day for 2-4 weeks before your peel is even applied.
amour fraternel you should be able to apply any of the items that don’t have hydroxy acids in them immediately afterwards. The hydroquinone would be very helpful as well daily to help prevent PIH. Wait until you are done flaking completely for the glycolic cream. **There are some that like to apply an acid serum/cream or retinol to help the flaking remove more quickly. That is fine at the very end if you wish to do that.
Yes, I do not see any issues with that as Tranexamic acid is a topical lightening agent. I am not sure what percentage you are using, recommend is 3-5% for daily application.
Flaking won't start for around 3-5 days after your peel was applied. If it has been 2 weeks, and you have not gotten any dry or flaking skin, it is time to start another peel - but this time I would add another layer of the TCA solution. **I would love more information about the percentage of acid you applied as well as how many layers.
Hey 😊, so I just did a TCA 20% and everything is going well , I had some hyperpigmentation around the upper lip area and after the mouth area peeled , it seems to be a little rough in that area ?! What could it be ? Thanks ,
This is shown in the video on this page. d :) Normal and expected to get skin darkening and roughness prior to peeling. This will come off - it's just dead skin.
For the body you will only do a peel 1x a month. Please watch this video: www.platinumskincare.com/hand-and-body-peeling-tca-30-versus-glycolic-70-demonstration/
I've been going to a spa one time a year to get a facial peel for the last 13 years. Not sure what kind of acid it is but they called it apple wine. I would like to get peels done more frequently than that but it costs way too much to go to a spa so often. Anyway, I would like to try doing my own peels at home using tca. My skin is rather accustomed to peels at this point because I've been getting them for so long and my skin doesn't really peel that much anymore they way it used to. Do you think I should still start out with the 13% or just jump right to the 20% solution?
Hello there. An apple wine peel would - I assume be a malic acid peel. Very, very mild. This is most likely even milder than a lactic peel. This type of peel could be done about 2-4x per month average. I suggest that you definitely begin with the TCA 13% and apply only 1-2 layers. This will be much stronger than the peel you have gotten in the past. I suggest you begin with 1 peel per month and then do 6-8 peels in a row. You will end up with excellent results. Make sure to follow proper protocol with pre-treating the skin (melanin inhibitors if you have pigmentation or ethnic/dark skin) and post-care of SPF 40-50 every day to prevent PIH and other UV damages. Please see our TCA video series here: ua-cam.com/video/p9XDQAykpKg/v-deo.html
Once your skin is done flaking and is feeling normal again, you can go back to your normal regimen. If that includes daily acids... then start slowly to be sure they are not causing irritation.
Hi Jenn- I just did my first chemical peel, last night- I started with your 30% TCA (Cross Method) and followed that with 3 layers (of course waited between each layer) of the 15% TCA, for an all over peel. Everything went well and actually, I’m not feeling/looking much different. (Today anyway). That said, I am a bit concerned by the fact that subsequent to performing the cross method (as soon as the blanching subsided), I noticed that my pores/icepick scars appeared to be more pronounced or deeper and still look this way today. I don’t believe this is even possible, but I’m afraid I did this when pressing into them with the toothpick. Please tell me this is normal/common/temporary. Because I’m kind of freaking out. 😩🔫 Thanks so much Jenn. 💕
That is actually perfectly normal and expected! No worries. We are purposefully damaging those skin tissues to force them to regenerate and fill in the holes. It may look worse for a couple of weeks. It will start to heal and tighten as it does. **That is why we must wait at least 5 weeks between CROSS treatments.
Platinum Skin Care you guys are seriously THE best!.. Never have I dealt with such incredible customer service. Anyways, thank you so so much for helping to put me at ease; it makes total sense and I figured this was to be expected. But at the same time, I think I just needed to hear it from you. 🤪 Also, they look a lot better today. I think I jumped the gun. So I was actually going to go back and delete my question. But I completely forgot. Thanks so much. I’m actually placing another order tonight. I’m so hooked and I LOOOOVE your EMU oil!! Thanks again. 😘 Edit: I make my own PRP at home. Can I use this with my HQ? I’ve been using a new brand and I’m not sure how effective it is. So I’m thinking maybe I could apply some PRP as well? Just to have a little extra help with preventing PIH.
Platinum Skin Care one more question- I went with a different pharmacy to purchase my 4% HQ cream. But I’m not entirely sold on it. As I’ve only been using it for about a month. So I’m unsure as to its effectiveness in preventing PIH. My question is this- Would PRP aid in preventing PIH? I make my own my own at home to use in conjunction with needling. So I was thinking about making a batch to use now. Just to be on the safe side. What are your thoughts? Do you think the extra steps would be worth it?
This is a very common chemical peel. Always start with the TCA 13% and prep skin with a melanin inhibitor if you have ethnic skin to help prevent PIH. www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-13-20-30/ www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/
Snowflakehater I just did my first peel and I’m hooked!! The products are 100% legit and the company’s 100% legit!... Their customer service is beyond top notch. In fact, they don’t just guide you through whatever it is you’ve decided to do. But they’ll hold your hand!! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend.
Hi I am Indian and I used 15% tca 2 layers, my chin area is darkened to black, I am on day 2 only, how do know if it’s darkened skin will peel of its not hyperpigmentation. Just worried
Ok, did you pretreat your skin with a melanin inhibitor for at least 2 weeks before applying this peel? If not there "may" be a possibility.... but it is WAY too early to tell. Anyone with ethnic skin tones will have their skin darken as it is preparing to flake. This will come off and hopefully you won't have any issues with PIH. If you do! .... the treatment is the same as the pre-treatment. Melanin inhibitor daily and SPF 50. Mild peels like mandelic to help exfoliate after a few weeks have gone by.
As soon as everything is healed and peeled you can go back to your normal regimen. **IF your skin is still sensitive though... wait a few more days before adding anything irritating.
@@PlatinumSkinCare thank you mr shedding is done so I’ll start tonight. Can I use my alpha Arbutin and kojic acid serum from garden of wisdom, my corsrx snail essence serum and tranexamic acid night time? And day time hyaluronic acid, alpha Arbutin and moisturiser and spf.
@@aka1998100 You may certainly use your normal regimen without worry. ***UNLESS it is burning... if that is the case your skin may still be sensitive. Just hold off for a few more days and try again.
@@aka1998100 Your skin is busy regenerating new skin tissues and collagen... etc... after a peel is completed. That is why there is a wait period before you do the next peel.
Ok, so you did a peel and got PIH? You will want to use a melanin inhibitor and also spf 50 every single day. Continue with your retinoid use. It will lighten but patience will be required.
Today I got TCA peel on Indian skin but due to sinusitis I had to take nasal steam, which went to face as well. Will it affect my peel and if yes , what can I do for it, please reply
I think you will be just fine. If your skin feels inflammed - try a cool water compress to calm it and apply something anti-inflammatory such as emu oil.

LOL. Takes some time to be rid of all that - but with a great daily regimen, and some peels - we are right where we need to be.
two weeks after my peel and the results were so much better then i expected!!! highly recommend.
That is so good to hear! Just imagine how everything will be looking after you complete a peel series! That is 6-8 peels in a row.
I keep revisiting this to remind me to trust the process. My lip peel has me looking like I have a mustache with a magic marker . It’s day 3
Yes, ethnic skin particularly will darken prior to flaking.
Great 👍 I'm 4 months into peels and I watch this video every time thank you

Can I use tretinoin as my booster?
Thank you so much!
No. Tretinoin is the Acid form of Vitamin A. We do not want to apply more acids to the skin after a peel. Another form of vitamin A is fine though. .. This is why we suggest the Luminosity: Granactive retinoid, Retinaldehyde, Retinol combo. Those are all OK.
hello there, i just did my second peel but my fade bright is finish what can i use instead on day 1 ?

My question is
If I don’t have the Luminosity can I used Adapalene gel 0.1% after a TCA 13%? Thank you
You are so welcome!
Use a Gauze instead!

Many thanks
Karolina
Cosmetics - makeup is fine.
Skin care products - non-acid is fine. No retinoids. Calm and heal. when you are done flaking you can go back to your normal regimen. :)
How do you wash your face and apply spf and moisturizer while you are flaking? It rubs off all the peeling.
Ha ha .. it does a little bit.
After tca my skin didn't frost is tca not working or there is some other reason?
We state very clearly in all videos, manuals, literature that frosting is NEVER the goal. We speak to you about it only IF you were to see it so you do not panic. :) IF you see frosting you will stop applying layers - even if you planned on applying more. You do not need to frost/blanch to get peeling.
Can I apply Hydroquinone after peel instead of Fade Bright?
Yes. As long as it does not cause irritation in your skin. :) Apply it until your skin is starting the Drying process - then stop. Nothing penetrates through this time. When you are all DONE flaking you can go back to your regimen that includes your melanin inhibitors.

I was dark today day 1. What does this mean ??
Depending on your skin coloring, and how strong the peel was, layers applied .... you can indeed have some dark, dead skin sitting on your face. This is normal and when it is ready to start shedding... it will all just come off. NO sun. SPF 50 and shade if you are going outdoors.
Is supercop part of this routine? Where would it fit in?
If you are going to use Super Cop 2x then please apply this after all flaking has stopped.
@@seanmaher2987 Those are some heavy-hitters there. Careful. .. but enjoy. :)
@@seanmaher2987 True true. Good job. :)
Hi instead of the .50 retinol luminosity could I instead use The Ordinary Retinol 0.5% in Squalane
You may absolutely use any that you wish.
I wish all companies were flexible like this
Perfect timing I just did my peel and picked up my phone to watch your video!
Dawn Tobin wonderful! I couldn’t have timed that any better!

Fabulous video

What peel would you recommend for fading/removing a tattoo? Also the percentage please
Tattoo ink goes so very deep in the skin. You can try TCA 30. It will require a lot of treatments and many, many layers. Take pictures and document to your progress if you give it a try. We would love to know if you see results.
I was wondering why you use a 4 point star on some of your videos. ??
Hmmmmmm. Any stars used to draw attention are just native to the editing software. Nothing purposeful.
@V Thank you for your comment. Truly that is just the star that is native to camtasia. Nothing other. ;)

You can do a spot peel every so often if you wish.

Agnieszka Deadwyler aquaphor, emu oil, essentials healing blend. Any other plain anti inflammatory creams or products you like.

Hi
If my luminosity has run out what could I apply after my tca 13% peel?
If you have another one of our retinoids you could use that. Or nothing. That is not mandatory... just a booster.
When can I start using my regular peeling soap and lotion after I have done my TCA peeling?
Most can use their normal daily cleansers right after a peel. I use my AB Cleanser that has 11% acid always. **If for some reason your cleanser is burning or causing you irritation... then you will want to use something milder for sure.
Thank you so much! now if I do a strong TCA and I still have my old melanin inhibitor that contains Lactic acid, Salicylic acid, Morinda Citrifolia extract, 4-butylresorcinol and Kojic acid can I use this one????
Yes, the kojic acid will be helpful with that. Resorcinol as well - as it is basically part hydroquinone.
Can I use hydroquinone straight after my peel?
Many times a treatment product can be applied after rinsing your peel and it will penetrate very well into the skin. IF your HQ causes you irritation though - please skip this and wait until a few days. IF your skin tolerates it well ... go ahead and apply and then follow with your healing products.
Can I use granactive retinoid 2% emulsion from the ordinary and hydroquinone on day 2 after peel to prevent pih? Until skin starts to peel?

Can I apply the ordinary alpha arbitin?
You may apply which ever line you wish.

Can I apply my RX Retin A after the peel?
I believe you are asking for RetinA as opposed to the Luminosity .50 Retinol, correct? Retinol does not convert into retinoic acid until it gets deeper into the skin. That makes it NOT irritating. RetinA is the straight retinoic acid right off the bat. That makes it potentially more irritating when applying to the freshly treated skin. You may certainly try - and if it is NOT irritating then great. If it IS irritating though, please rinse it off.
I heard Vitamin E oil is great to use for an aftercare, is this true will it help??
Destiny Atkinson you may use which ever oil or cream or serum that you choose. We prefer the emu oil due to its properties. www.platinumskincare.com/emu-oil-pure-certified/
Do you leave the peel on during each time you code ? Do you rinse after the peel or is this tca ment to be left on ?
Yes, you will leave the peel on during the layering process. Do not rinse in between layers. After your final layer is on....wait 5 minutes and then rinse with cold water .
Can I use tretinoin instead of retinol on day 1?
Tretinoin is the acid form of Vitamin A... that can be irritating and cause a more aggressive dryness and possible cracking. We generally recommend the retinol because it doesn't cause that irritation.
@@PlatinumSkinCare so can you restart tretinoin after peeling is done or?
@@aka1998100 Hello. Certainly. Once any shedding is done you may go back to your normal regimen. *IF anything is burning then step back for a few more days until its comfortable.

Is it okay to use aha or bha cleanser before tca peel ? In india when we order tca peel they give a pre peel cleanser which contains aha
Yes. that is perfect.
can i use tretinoin before my skin starts to peel?
Please do not use acids (tretinoin is retinoic ACID) after TCA or Jessners (or any AHA) peels.
Hi,
I did a 25% peel from another company.
Ok, Thankyou, what about glycolic? How long after TCA can you do a glycolic?
@@lovelysmith275 You will always follow the recommendations of the LAST ACID you applied. If it was a glycolic or lactic - you only need to wait a week to do another (any) peel. If you did a TCA though - you must follow those recommendations of around 2-5 weeks. Then you can do another acid. Don't get confused and think that you can just do milder peels WHILE you are waiting to do another TCA. That is NOT going to get you anywhere but with highly reactive and irritated skin and possibly pigmentation. Be patient. That is the name of the peel game.
Platinum Skin Care thank you!!
How often or how soon can I use the super CP serum after a peel?
You could apply that immediately after rinsing without any irritation. Then your healing products. Once the skin starts to dry though (next day or following) I would stop use - as it isn't going to get through the skin at that point. No need to waste. Once its done flaking go right back to your daily regimen.
Hi there, is it safe to dilute 30% tca to the percentage that is safe for under eye?
Can we apply the Tretinoin and Hydroquinone combination cream just after or 24 hrs after the peel to minimize the chances of PIH?
I would not apply Tretinoin after a TCA or Jessners peel. You want to avoid acids after a peel treatment. If you had hydroquinone alone.. that would be fine to apply after rinsing the peel off and maybe one more day. *Once the skin starts to DRY... nothing is going to penetrate and products would be wasted. PIH is done mostly with Prevention. You need to apply your melanin inhibitors 1-2x per day for 2-4 weeks before your peel is even applied.
Great video.
After a 25% tca, 2 layers, how long do you have to wait before applying any face serum , glycolic acid cream or hydroquinone cream?
amour fraternel you should be able to apply any of the items that don’t have hydroxy acids in them immediately afterwards.

What can I do if I don't flek after a peeling tca peeling at home.
If it takes about two weeks for the body to start peeling should we wait another week or two for our next application of a peel ?

After all peeling is off can we start applying resurfacing serum or like glycolic acid gel at night time routine??
Can we use aha toner too??
Once your skin is done flaking and is feeling normal again, you can go back to your normal regimen. If that includes daily acids... then start slowly to be sure they are not causing irritation.
is it normal if you perform a tca cross and the skin turns dark a few hours after the peel?
Yes. This is explained IN this particular video. :)
Hi Jenn-
I just did my first chemical peel, last night-
I started with your 30% TCA (Cross Method) and followed that with 3 layers (of course waited between each layer) of the 15% TCA, for an all over peel.
Please tell me this is
normal/common/temporary. Because I’m kind of freaking out.
😩🔫
Thanks so much Jenn.
