Good morning 🌅, I have been looking for someone to do this upgrade, Nice job, I have just done mine today, but I have been waiting for gasket sales and O-rings, for three weeks, I live in France. It’s difficult to get bits and pieces, my bike is a 2003 Deuce, I just recently purchased it, from the UK I’ve imported it into France, The bike has not been looked after. It isn’t a terrible state. I’m sorry going through it. I’m restoring it., this is my second Deuce, , thanks for sharing your Jim’s upgrade kit,
It appears to me that you have the seal in backwards. Isn't the spring side supposed to go towards the oil?...... Nevermind, I just looked at the instruction sheet and it looks like you installed correctly, so maybe it's a double lipped seal with two springs?
I followed the instructions, it’s been 4 months with zero leaks. Yes the seals on Harley’s are so weird man. A couple of them look inside out. So stupid they did those double lip seals
In my opinion if it doesn’t feel smooth maybe the bearing got damaged on installation or defective. It should technically be smooth. Then again I can’t remember how easy it was to move by hand.
That bearing driver u used , is that something u made or did u by it . Jim’s bearing remove & install tool is $240 , that looks a little cheaper than Jim’s ,can u tell me if u made it or bought it . If u bought it can u tell me where I can but it .

Just did same upgrade. Q: sealed bearing feels a little stiff when turned by hand - is this normal? maybe just friction against built in seal ?

They sell the tool on Amazon. As far as the bearing I want to say I got it from jp cycles or Dennis Kirk
