Gave up alcohol 3 years ago after I realised that I put myself in dangerous situations and people. I did have a blip at a concert a year ago and woke up in A&E. Mortified. That was shameful but when i got through it I 100% comitted to sobriety. Life is so much more stable and some would say boring 😂 but I'm embracing it. Works for me and thats all that matters.
I gave up drinking for six months, from Dry Jan to 1st July this year. Then thought I'd have a few drinks in pubs only for July/August. That escalated to drinking at home and feeling absolutely shite. ADHD & booze really doesn't work for me. I did a list of Pros Vs Cons & couldn't find a single Pro for drinking. Back on the wagon from today. 🤞🙏
I cant get any meds for diagnosed adhd, 57 now, at wits end & starting another week, failed went out last night, so hard not to self-medicate to calm the wired brain down
There are non-controlled meds like Effexor that help ADHD if you can’t get the controlled drugs like adderall like myself. They do help. I just started Effexor and Wellbutrin and they actually help me focus, and I honestly thought I was hopeless previously
Just a listener here. I think this depends on the person. I’d recommend listening to the Rich Roll podcast from about 10 days ago where both the host, who has taken the AA 12-step approach, and Rauri (sp?) of OYNB offer different opinions and experiences with this.

Best definition of ADHD I’ve learned “having a Ferrari brain with bicycle brakes “
Excellent podcast. Gave me more insight into my ADHD son and is struggling
Im an alcoholic, 8 years sober. I would love to be able to have 2 or 3 drinks and stop. is that something your program can do?

@@cambodennis thanks.
I resonate with this perfectly, is there anywhere Manchester way that people get together?
Can't get meds for my diagnosed adhd, what is the point in giving up-the alternative to living adhd untreated
@@Domdeone1 what do you mean you can’t get meds?
I can do without it
