aaa i’ve been crocheting for upwards of 11 years but my frens learned to during quarantine n they’re pretty good actually!! i’m 15 (the reason i learned young is bc my mother taught it) and i have 13 year old frens that can keep up with me so long as i’m not speeding through so it’s totally worth a try:)
TIPS: -slow down the video to 0.75x when learning the stitch try to pause a few times just so you can really see what part is going where -count while stitching, it’ll show two wrapped around the chain when you increase and that should be your marker! -take breaks if this is your first time -pause the video when stitching on the pattern sequence Good Luck! This was my first time ever and I really loved this tutorial
i love the fact that we didn’t have to use a magic circle!! i finished this no problem in 2 days and i loved the process. thank you so much for this tutorial
If you want the edge to be more wavy, just increase more frequently! I think I doubled it four or five times, and my edge is suuper wavy! + Amazing tutorial, this is incredibleeee!
I had to look it up so for anyone else who's confused, BACK LOOP ONLY is when you only hook your needle into the loop of the stitch that's farthest away from you, instead of through both loops like usual:)

This is the only pattern that looks like a actual bucket hat. I've tried 3 patterns and this one is the best and faster. This hat only took me 3-4hrs. It usually took me 2days but I love love this pattern thank you💜
Guys, heres is a tip just in case your bucket hat keeps curling up on the sides. Try not making the bucket hat tight. When you make it tight, the yarn curls. By the way, keep making tutorials like these, they are very helpful❤

when you first start the hat, instead of chaining 4 and making it into a circle, you could just do a magic circle of 5 SC and then on the next row do an increase stitch on all 5 SC to make 10. it makes it so that the hole at the top is smaller and practically unnoticeable
Kiera Dehmer thank you! i have another question if that’s ok. in the video, when she started the brim of the hat she made her first row 6hdc increase on 7th because she ended her top with 5hdc increase on 6th. my head is kinda big so i ended my top on 7hdc increase on 8th, so should i start my brim with 8hdc increase on 9th then work out from there? sorry i’m only asking you because you replied fast before :)

This is exactly what I envisioned and wanted from a bucket hat, and I’m so glad my pattern is close to yours!!

It’s ok to go back fully and start from 0, you only get more practice that way 2. Pay close attention to the number of stitches, that can throw off your entire balance so be careful And have fun, this is a challenging but relaxing Hobby!! You got this
I had to unravel several times because I misunderstood some stuff, but it turned out pretty great in the end. I made some adjustments because I'm smaller, and I'm going to add little eyes at the top later. Thank you!
Georgia Hill don’t drive yourself crazy! It’s really just about fashion and making it look good don’t get caught up on the number counts as much. They’re just a guideline. this is THE most helpful tutorial I've seen so far as a beginner, I would 100% recommend to try this out as your first project once you've learned the basic stitches
You don't understand, I'm obsessed. No really I found this video about two months ago and I'm currently still obsessed about making hats like this. Thank you, it was so well done and understandable, I saw you also have another hat tutorial and I'm sure going to try that one too. Also I really hope you're going to post more tutorials when you have time, cause you've really been a very good teacher to me with this one. Wish you luck in everything and a pleasant day :)
It took me starting the round over and over and over again a thousand times but I am now getting it and it’s circling up! I’m even ending on an increase which is making me proud lol. Thanks for the amazing tutorial! A TIP! *It really helps if you slow the playback speed!*
this was such a helpful video for a beginner like me who only started crochet! your explanations were really clear yet i didn’t fast forward like i usually do with crochet videos :P i’m definitely gonna try this sometime next week!! 💜
everyone in the comments is saying this was hard to follow but this is the first thing ive ever crocheted and i found this tutorial pretty easy to do! im almost done with my hat, thank you so much for this tut!
Hi everyone! I am going to be posting a requested baby/puppy bucket hat tutorial tonight which is a little bit slower & more in detail with stitch counts! It’s a great aid if you struggled getting this hat started :) stay tuned ❣️
hi! this tutorial is really great but i have a question. when you start doing the brim like the bottom part you did 6 hdc increase on the 7th because you ended the top on 5 hdc increase on 6th, i ended my top on 7 hdc increase on 8th, so do i start my brim on 8 hdc increase on 9th the i build out from there?
hi! i’m coming to the end of the hat i only have one row left but when i try it on i’m noticing that the rim isn’t really sticking out and the whole hat seems too small and right even though i made mine bigger than yours. did i make the stitches too tight? or is it the fact that i’m using 100% acrylic yarn?
on the second round of BLO, do you do a BLO in both back loops all around the round? I realised you said both back loops but I am only able to see you going through 1 loop so I just want to clarify
just finished the tutorial and oh my God, this took forever. I definitely made some mistakes but for my first time ever crocheting something, i'm really happy with how it turned out!!!!! thank you so much for the guide! It was really helpful!
Let me tell you, this was quite the adventure. I had to deconstruct my hat twice. I completed it and it looks amazing. Probably 20-25 hours in total. This was my second project ever so I struggled with it quite a bit but it was super exciting to learn, great tutorial.
oh my GOSH.... i have looked through countless tutorials and they were just so confusing to me but you show your work so clearly that when i slow the video down i can actually see what i’m supposed to do. Mine is coming along so nicely and i’m so happy!! Hopefully if it’s turns out well i can make more for me and my friends ❤️ love love loved this video xxx
I did it ! Didn’t often ended on increase ! Made a few mistakes ! And the hat is a big big but I LOVE IT This is my first crochet project ! THANK you for this tutorial 🥰
i'm almost finished with mine and i'd like to give credit to this tutorial cause it was super easy to follow for a beginner like me. the only thing that got me confused was the slip stitch that closes each line, so for any other beginner having the same problem as me: i think you are meant to slip stitch the last half double crochet of each row with the second chain at the beginning of the same row (instead of the first HDC like i stupidly did ;)). thank you so much, the pattern looks perfect so far!!
On what I think is the third row with the HDC,HDC, INCREASE- what is meant by increase cuz I got everything else and then you said that and I was just confused on what that was and how to do it.
This was my first ever project crocheting, and I was able to follow along and complete it, and it looks really good for being my first time. Thank you for the time you put into making this so someone like me could try too!
hey i was wondering if you could write the pattern down? because i have trouble following along and i find it easier when the pattern is written down!💜
Watch the video first because thus might be confusing. Crochet bucket hat pattern: Make a slipknot, chain 4 Slip stitch into the first chain, chain 2 10 half double crochets into center ( 00:50 ) Slip stitch into first half double crochet Chain 2 and then increase with half double crochets When finished slip stitch into first half double crochet in that row Increase normally (not including the one before) 6x more, or 7x more (depends on you) keeping the chain 2 at the start and slip stitch at the end Back loop only for 2 rows (still doing chain 2 at start and slip stitch at end) Half double crochet in each stitch for 7 rows (no increase or back loop, normal half double crochet) (edit: chain 2 and slip stitch) Chain 2, front loop only, half double crochets for a row (only one) Slip stitch and chain 2, and increase (6 HDC, 7th one increase) Repeat but 7 HDC, 8th one increase Continue until you go to the 10 HDC, 11th one increase Slip stitch, cut, tie and weave in the ends
amazing tutorial! I think I may have used different yarn and a different size hook tho cause mine is way too small but I might give it to my little brother (i put frog eyes on it so I know he will love it. but your pace and instruction were very easy to follow thank you for sharing!
10:17 (this is a timestamp for myself or anyone else at this exact time) For anyone reading this hope you have an amazing day/night and have fun crocheting , also don’t give up!
This tutorial is delightful and so are you! I thought it moved at a great pace for someone who is already familiar with HDC and the process of increasing rounds. My niece is requesting a bucket hat and this is the tutorial I will be working from. I can't wait to give it to her!
Hi! I've made many bucket hats for my friends using this pattern, and I wanted to thank you! It's the easiest to follow pattern for bucket hats I could find, and it's super adaptable. I deeply appreciate the effort you put into making the pattern and video to share with the others ❤️❤️
I’ve been trying to make a bucket hat for weeks now trying so many different tutorials and this is the only one that I’ve been able to follow all the way through thank yooooouuu this was so helpful 💜💜
Waaahhh I finally finished this before midnight of day 3 making this bucket hat. Idk why but my hands get hurt that's why I take like a day of rest lol. I could've finished this within 1-2 hrs if I was determined. But my hat came out great!! Thank you for this easy and simple tutorial!!
I made my first bucket hat i made it box braids, big hair friendly it came out pretty well! thank you girl !! Im definitely going to make these for the fall time (:
Love the pattern, I still consider myself a beginner even though I've made a few things. I watch a lot of crochet videos and am impressed with the way you have done this one really made it easy and encouraging for me to do. I am making 3 of these bucket hats using your tutorial. Thankyou so much my 3 lil guy's will love these hats this summer. I will post pics of each when I finish.
I finally finished it! apart from the fact I was accidentally using the wrong stitches and made a few mistakes it looks great and is a great beginner project. I learnt so much! Thankyou!
Hiii!!! Thank you so much for this video!! I'm only 12 and I successfully did a bucket hat. The bucket hat is very nice!! I really really love it. Thank you again!! ❤️❤️
thank you very much for this tutorial, not only a beautiful pattern but you also show us that we're nos bad crocheters bc we didn't get everything right haha this made me feel human again
To be honest, I'm in shock that you were able to tie the panama in 17 minutes and with what to explain very well I watched 10-15 videos but did not understand how to do it and then looked at your and understood all thank you very much💖💖💖kstrethes I am from Rossi :)
just made one! very happy with results. i had to expand the top part a bit and go from there because my yarn was a bit thinner than yours but it ended up fitting perfectly and even cuter than the bucket hat i bought from a store! >:D
i don’t eat children try making sure your intention is consistent throughout the entire top of the hat, I find that when I pull my yarn too tight in some places in Lucerne some places it causes the top circle to not lay flat.. also throughout working the top circle make sure it’s laying flat after every row!
Thank you so much!!!! It helped so much and I just finished. A tiktoker actually recommended me this video so I owe a big thank you to them and YOU. And I just finished making one and it turned out so gooooood…overalls THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!! 🥰😇
Amazing video! Easy to follow and cute as heck. Also I love that you even showed yourself messing up and redoing a row! A nice reminder that there's no shame in messing up :)
love love lovee your tutorial! I'm a newbie so I'm still getting the hang of crocheting but will definitely be following along with your video! One question, does it matter what size/type of yarn I use? I've been seeing super thick yarns and very light ones, which would be best?
adriana luna thank you :) & I would stay away from the super thick ones for this project it might make your hat start curving... any regular worsted weight (10ply) DK yarn will work best for this project. Here’s a chart to help you understand yarn & their weight: www.google.com/search?q=types+of+yarn+weight+for+crochet&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=isvn&sxsrf=ALeKk02gybgxGo-9iCsQ1cZW8Vx4SasfvQ:1594726920738&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiB8v7c1MzqAhVVLs0KHcC0BmIQ_AUoAXoECA4QAQ&biw=414&bih=831#imgrc=TFJr8DzJa0hxIM
I'm going to try to make this for one of my good best friends who have been there and understands me when things get tough, along with this is being her type of type hat 😇😄 Edit: I did it although I did make a few mistakes like I would sometimes not always land on the last stitch with an increase, but still make it look pretty decent and was to lazy kinda to fix them I still love the way it looked and my friend really loves it too 😇 (this is also my first try making something like this)

I just made a minibasket too!!!😭 i even added a handle and a lid 🥺. I restarted though and its looking much better

This tutorial is so amazing the hats turn out so cute every time i make them i’m addicted! Thank you so much for sharing 💕
Naomi Lam 🦋😌💜
I learned how to crochet a few things when I was nine, I’m almost twelve now and this video is rlly helping me remember thanks so much!!
everyone in the comments is saying this was hard to follow but this is the first thing ive ever crocheted and i found this tutorial pretty easy to do! im almost done with my hat, thank you so much for this tut!
Sadie Whelehan yes!!! You got it :)
hi! i’m coming to the end of the hat i only have one row left but when i try it on i’m noticing that the rim isn’t really sticking out and the whole hat seems too small and right even though i made mine bigger than yours. did i make the stitches too tight? or is it the fact that i’m using 100% acrylic yarn?
on the second round of BLO, do you do a BLO in both back loops all around the round? I realised you said both back loops but I am only able to see you going through 1 loop so I just want to clarify
Janice Deans either way will result in the same look!
just finished the tutorial and oh my God, this took forever. I definitely made some mistakes but for my first time ever crocheting something, i'm really happy with how it turned out!!!!!
thank you so much for the guide! It was really helpful!
I'm recovering from surgery and I'm so bored, so I tried it out. It's adorable. The pattern worked beautifully. I'm embroidering flowers on it. :)
Let me tell you, this was quite the adventure. I had to deconstruct my hat twice. I completed it and it looks amazing. Probably 20-25 hours in total. This was my second project ever so I struggled with it quite a bit but it was super exciting to learn, great tutorial.
I usually get frustrated by how slow people go with tutorials, but yours was just fast enough.
oh my GOSH.... i have looked through countless tutorials and they were just so confusing to me but you show your work so clearly that when i slow the video down i can actually see what i’m supposed to do. Mine is coming along so nicely and i’m so happy!! Hopefully if it’s turns out well i can make more for me and my friends ❤️ love love loved this video xxx
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I love how my hat turned out and it was definitely worth the 4 hours it took!
this was BY FAR the easiest tutorial ever!! Thanku so much for taking us thru this🥺🥰
wasabisazzdafirst ☺️🥰
I loved this I might make a tiny one for my dog
Awwe (ˉ▽ ̄~)
I did it ! Didn’t often ended on increase ! Made a few mistakes ! And the hat is a big big but I LOVE IT This is my first crochet project ! THANK you for this tutorial 🥰
Hey girl, LOVING this tutorial!!! Will definitely be DM'ing you my results on insta soon! 😘 sending all my love and support to your channel!!
So sweet thank you can't wait to see :)
i'm almost finished with mine and i'd like to give credit to this tutorial cause it was super easy to follow for a beginner like me. the only thing that got me confused was the slip stitch that closes each line, so for any other beginner having the same problem as me: i think you are meant to slip stitch the last half double crochet of each row with the second chain at the beginning of the same row (instead of the first HDC like i stupidly did ;)). thank you so much, the pattern looks perfect so far!!
This is so cute! I’ve never crocheted before but I want to learn
Nicole Fu you should! ❤️
You won’t regret it I promise
I AM A CHAMP!!!!! I’m a beginner and you made this so easy for me🥳❤️❤️❤️
I hope everyone is doing okay,
I am in love with this pattern
On what I think is the third row with the HDC,HDC, INCREASE- what is meant by increase cuz I got everything else and then you said that and I was just confused on what that was and how to do it.
umm quick question :
my bucket hat doesn’t look like a hat it just looks like a big flat circle 🥲
Do you perhaps know why ?
This was my first ever project crocheting, and I was able to follow along and complete it, and it looks really good for being my first time. Thank you for the time you put into making this so someone like me could try too!
hey i was wondering if you could write the pattern down? because i have trouble following along and i find it easier when the pattern is written down!💜
Im making a written version and ill reply when i finish
@@joemama-ks9si thats so kind of you!! thank you so much!💜💜
@@aliyah06 i need to test it but ill put it down in another comment, and edit it or make sure its correct.
Watch the video first because thus might be confusing.
Crochet bucket hat pattern:
Make a slipknot, chain 4
Slip stitch into the first chain, chain 2
10 half double crochets into center ( 00:50 )
Slip stitch into first half double crochet
Chain 2 and then increase with half double crochets
When finished slip stitch into first half double crochet in that row
Increase normally (not including the one before) 6x more, or 7x more (depends on you) keeping the chain 2 at the start and slip stitch at the end
Back loop only for 2 rows (still doing chain 2 at start and slip stitch at end)
Half double crochet in each stitch for 7 rows (no increase or back loop, normal half double crochet) (edit: chain 2 and slip stitch)
Chain 2, front loop only, half double crochets for a row (only one)
Slip stitch and chain 2, and increase (6 HDC, 7th one increase)
Repeat but 7 HDC, 8th one increase
Continue until you go to the 10 HDC, 11th one increase
Slip stitch, cut, tie and weave in the ends
@@joemama-ks9si wow thank you so much! this makes the video so much easier to understand!
This is the best looking bucket hat tutorial, I can't stop making these hats, thank you so much for this tutorial
amazing tutorial! I think I may have used different yarn and a different size hook tho cause mine is way too small but I might give it to my little brother (i put frog eyes on it so I know he will love it. but your pace and instruction were very easy to follow thank you for sharing!
i’ve been looking forever trying to find a hat tutorial without a magic loop thing bc their so annoying and this tut is perfect!!!!!
today is my second day crocheting and omg i love this it’s coming out perfectly i’ve messed up a couple times but that’s okay:)
I made it! My hat looks a little wonky but this was the first tutorial I actually understood. And my first crotchet project, thank you!
Those "(7!!)"'s had me in stitches! 😂😂 Great tutorial, thank you!
Devonecia Swartz 🤣thank you lovely 💞
Hi! I've made many bucket hats for my friends using this pattern, and I wanted to thank you! It's the easiest to follow pattern for bucket hats I could find, and it's super adaptable. I deeply appreciate the effort you put into making the pattern and video to share with the others ❤️❤️
this is too cute, made me and my daughter both red and white for the beach. great job:)
Yay! That makes me so happy :) thanks for the sweet comment sending love
I’ve been trying to make a bucket hat for weeks now trying so many different tutorials and this is the only one that I’ve been able to follow all the way through thank yooooouuu this was so helpful 💜💜
This was a really fun tutorial to follow. You explain so clearly. Thank you, you got a new subscriber 🎉🎈🌺
Nombulelo Fatyela 💞🥰
Waaahhh I finally finished this before midnight of day 3 making this bucket hat. Idk why but my hands get hurt that's why I take like a day of rest lol. I could've finished this within 1-2 hrs if I was determined. But my hat came out great!! Thank you for this easy and simple tutorial!!
Thank you SOOOO much! I have made like 10 of these to give to my friends and they love them!!! 💖💖💖
do you know roughly how much wool it takes? 🥺❤️
This was my very first time doing crochet and it turned out great (there’s a hole or 2 but I’m still super happy). Thanks so much :)
Toook me a whole day just to get the top done :>>
This was very useful, it was time consuming, but it’s worth it, also very inexpensive! Mine turned out so good!
ah im so excited to try this once i finish my exams! so cute
I love this video. it was the only one I could follow. I haven't finished yet but can't wait till it is done
THANK YOU i love how mine turned out!! It was so quick to make as well :0 I made mine with green and pink stripes
Izzy Clarke Id love to see! DM me on Instagram if you’d like to share 💚
I can’t describe how happy i was while doing this hat! I did it to my mom and she love it! Thank you so much sweetheart ♥️
I made my first bucket hat i made it box braids, big hair friendly it came out pretty well! thank you girl !! Im definitely going to make these for the fall time (:
SecretThe Soulja yaasss 🥰🥰 love it
Love the pattern, I still consider myself a beginner even though I've made a few things. I watch a lot of crochet videos and am impressed with the way you have done this one really made it easy and encouraging for me to do. I am making 3 of these bucket hats using your tutorial. Thankyou so much my 3 lil guy's will love these hats this summer. I will post pics of each when I finish.
My finger hurts but🌌 I love it🌌 thanks💞
your voice is so soothing it makes me less overwhelmed thank you
G McMullen ✨🥰❤️
I finally finished it! apart from the fact I was accidentally using the wrong stitches and made a few mistakes it looks great and is a great beginner project. I learnt so much!
Thankyou!
Hiii!!! Thank you so much for this video!! I'm only 12 and I successfully did a bucket hat. The bucket hat is very nice!! I really really love it. Thank you again!! ❤️❤️
yay i just made this and it didn’t take too long and it looks so good ahh
thank you very much for this tutorial, not only a beautiful pattern but you also show us that we're nos bad crocheters bc we didn't get everything right haha this made me feel human again
Instead of having to count my stitches I just use a stitch marker
To be honest, I'm in shock that you were able to tie the panama in 17 minutes and with what to explain very well I watched 10-15 videos but did not understand how to do it and then looked at your and understood all thank you very much💖💖💖kstrethes I am from Rossi :)
just made one! very happy with results. i had to expand the top part a bit and go from there because my yarn was a bit thinner than yours but it ended up fitting perfectly and even cuter than the bucket hat i bought from a store! >:D
the top circle of my hat keeps curling up at the sides?
i don’t eat children try making sure your intention is consistent throughout the entire top of the hat, I find that when I pull my yarn too tight in some places in Lucerne some places it causes the top circle to not lay flat.. also throughout working the top circle make sure it’s laying flat after every row!
@@amritarising well thank god you don't, was getting worried for a second here
i keep messing up but your voice is so soothing im not getting frustrated. thank you for the kind encouragements at the end 💕 great video
lj yay thank you ☺️
Omg I love this hat it was so easy and it only took 1 hour
Thank you so much!!!! It helped so much and I just finished. A tiktoker actually recommended me this video so I owe a big thank you to them and YOU. And I just finished making one and it turned out so gooooood…overalls THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!! 🥰😇
Here's a tip! At the end of every row, use your tail as a stitch marker so that you don't have to count every stitch :D
This was such a good tutorial especially for your first one! I’m only 12 years old and this was my first item of crochet. Thank you so much❤️
I'm going to try to make this for one of my good best friends who have been there and understands me when things get tough, along with this is being her type of type hat 😇😄
Edit: I did it although I did make a few mistakes like I would sometimes not always land on the last stitch with an increase, but still make it look pretty decent and was to lazy kinda to fix them I still love the way it looked and my friend really loves it too 😇 (this is also my first try making something like this)
