I used this pattern to make an adorable mushroom hat! It’s my first ever crochet project and it came out so cute! My tips: I used medium weight (#4) yarn and a 5mm hook and the hat is just a little bit loose so I would probably recommend a 4.5mm hook. Also make sure you do the little hook twist when you’re making the magic circle because that kept tripping me up. I would also recommend using a paperclip as a stitch marker to keep track of that third chain that you need to slip stitch into each round. Thanks for this pattern, I love it so much!
Brilliant.... loved it, loved it... thank you, just finished my first hat as a trial with 8 ply and still have wool left from a 100g ball..it's the first thing I have finished that when I look at it, I love it.... will be trying it with 10ply and a little bigger hook as I did find this a little small for my head, but am going to add some flowers and give it to my 10 year old niece... again..thank you....loved your tutorial...

thank u so much for this tutorial!! this is the first time I crochet and it turned out perfect, I used a 4mm hook and normal yarn/wool. The second time I used that fluffy tipe of yarn/wool and after 7 rows I saw that is was getting wayyy to wide so I took like 4 rows out and remade it but instead of increasing/keeping it the same, I made is smaller so every 5/6/8/10/15th (depends or which row) I did one double thing thru 2 holes. After every row I fittes it to see how it turned out and it worked perfect. If you see that it is the wrong size increase or do the opposite and don't be afraid to do something slightly dufferent than the tutorial, see it more as a guide instead or rules. Anyway I'm sooo in love with my hatsss😍🤩💖💖

This is the second time I make this project but this time I used the red heart medium sized yarn and I recommend increasing the 14 double crochets in the beginning inside the magic circle to 20 double crochet to get the similar if not equivalent size to this video, this red heart yarn is a bit stiff so there is slight folding where there shouldn’t at times, hope this helps:)

Make sure you’re using the right sized hook for your yarn, I used a 5mm first and had to undo the project around round 9 because it was too small, switched to a 6mm and now it’s perfect!
I technically don't even know how to crochet I just like watching the tutorials and I like how it's all patterned like she says the order for one round and you can know how many stitches you're meant to have cause of maths which is nice
I made this (Alan's wife!) and it worked well except I got muddled by the last comments after round 18 regarding extra stitches. Going to try the baby one.
My project is coming along great! I'll post pictures when its finished. This is so much fun! The instructions are concise and easy to follow. Thank you @woolywonderscrochet xoxox
you got this!! this was my first crochet project and it took me literally over an hour just to figure out the magic circle! but after that it turned out great! i believe in you, you can do it 😊😊😊
warning to anyone trying this pattern - it's easy to follow and turns out cute but it's REALLY small! i used the exact same hook size, yarn etc. and it turned out wayyy too small for me. i don't exactly have a big head either.
I tried doing an extra two rows at the bottom of the body of the hat and also added another row onto the brim. It's still a fairly small hat but it's a bit better 😊
That’s such a well explained tutorial, thank you! I’m struggling with increasing though… I am sure I’m doing it right, two dc in the same stitch, but the circle still comes out flat. Maybe the tension of the yarn is wrong? If someone could help with this I’d be super thankful. 🤣

thank you so much for this pattern I made it and it’s super easy and beautiful 😍😊
Round 2 ⏩ 3:10 = 28 DC including the chain 3
Round 3 ⏩ 5:07 = 42 DC including the chain 3
Round 4 ⏩ 7:05 = 56 DC including the chain 3
Round 5 ⏩ 8:52 = 70 DC including the chain 3
Round 6 ⏩ 10:28 = 75 DC including the chain 3
Round 7 to 12 ⏩ 12:44 = 75 DC including the chain 3
Round 13 ⏩ 15:10 = 28 DC including the chain 3
Make sure you’re using the right sized hook for your yarn, I used a 5mm first and had to undo the project around round 9 because it was too small, switched to a 6mm and now it’s perfect!
I used a 4 mm! It works too :) you just have to trust the process and it will work also yarn is pretty stretchy
@@lucycragin8417 so how about 3.2mm. Is it to small? I hope you can answer. Thanks
@@HanhNguyen-ed2ml It depends on your yarn size, and your tension. I would recommend a 4mm but you could try it with a 3.2
@@lucycragin8417 alright. Thanks a lot
@@lucycragin8417 hey , could you tell that this bucket hat is a medium one or large one??
bookmark 15:00 edging :)
I made this hat today. So easy to make..
I technically don't even know how to crochet I just like watching the tutorials and I like how it's all patterned like she says the order for one round and you can know how many stitches you're meant to have cause of maths which is nice
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I really needed it!
I made this (Alan's wife!) and it worked well except I got muddled by the last comments after round 18 regarding extra stitches. Going to try the baby one.
My project is coming along great! I'll post pictures when its finished. This is so much fun! The instructions are concise and easy to follow. Thank you @woolywonderscrochet xoxox
tried it again and it worked, thanks for sharing
Hi, just a quick question, how did you stop the brim from stretching too much?
It's been 5years😔😔
@@marcjamesmagmanlac104 GAHHAHAGA
@@marcjamesmagmanlac104 AHAHAHA FR 😔😭
Poor guy 😂
Mine turned out so good, thank you for the clear instructions!!
i like your voice, and how you explain, tysm💕💕
The beginning was so difficult wow, but the rest was so nice and easy... Thank goodness cause I restarted that magic circle like 60 times 💀✋
Omg yes I'm still stuck at it since like 1 and a half hour
I made it but it’s to small for my fat head bruh I-
increase the rounds !!! before the hat edge part ^^
same 😭😭 im gonna try it again with either thicker yarn or more rounds
for round 6 I did
ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc into same st, 4 dc, dc inc, 4 dc repeat all the way around, join with 3rd ch using sl
This was the best explanation video THANK YOU
First crochet project 💕 mine looks decent but the size is small for me 😂 I'm satisfied tho, it looks ok for a first timer
I'm not even one minute in and I give up already....... I feel like crying now😭
you got this!! this was my first crochet project and it took me literally over an hour just to figure out the magic circle! but after that it turned out great! i believe in you, you can do it 😊😊😊
@@jaidynm8488 i hate the magic circle
Even i might as well. 😒
warning to anyone trying this pattern - it's easy to follow and turns out cute but it's REALLY small! i used the exact same hook size, yarn etc. and it turned out wayyy too small for me. i don't exactly have a big head either.
Totally agreed! If you have figured out where to fix it, please share with me. Thanks in advance.
I tried doing an extra two rows at the bottom of the body of the hat and also added another row onto the brim. It's still a fairly small hat but it's a bit better 😊
Just ended up giving it to my niece hahaha
@@cookingwithtrang i added another row/circle after 6 and it fits one size fits all bucket hat pattern perfectly! hope this helps
I used a 6 mm hook w corresponding yarn and mine came out too big. I'd recommend the 6mm hook with 3 less rows from 7-12 so instead 7-9
I used the same yarn and hook and it looks like a mat
That’s such a well explained tutorial, thank you! I’m struggling with increasing though… I am sure I’m doing it right, two dc in the same stitch, but the circle still comes out flat. Maybe the tension of the yarn is wrong? If someone could help with this I’d be super thankful. 🤣
thanks to this tutorial! I was able to make my own and I love it
Thank you for the GREAT instructions!! I'm going to try this.
Thank you very much for the great tutorial 👍😊
This was very interesting to do
Very beautiful and easy. I give you a 👍
the very first part the magic circle I cannot comprehend it properly
Thankyou for the video, this pattern is so cutebb
this feels like im getting a tutorial from Fairy Mary from Tinkerbell, im living my childhood dream
This is really amazing! Thank you so much 🥰
I made this hat and it was done within a day and soo cute - but a kinda too big. How can I make the bucket hat a little bit smaller around the head??
This tutorial is so good and clear but i always lost counting😭
Just a heads up, if you guys are using a worsted weight or acrylic yarn you'll only need the six rows of one DC in each unless you want it longer
thank you so much this was so helpful !
