That guy saying he was negotiating a price was a legend.
He wants saved us🤣
It's worth at least 10k
@@irgant Aucorse he was sarcastic 🤣
@@irgant No shit, Sherlock
Now this is a true sports car. It's a real sport to drive it. :)
This worked way better than I expected. I've ridden in one of those 4-wheel tourist "quadricycles", and with three grown men pedaling we couldn't get it to go faster than 24 km/h, and it was a scary and exhausting experience. There were just too many losses in the transmission, and pedaling felt incredibly stiff, even if it was probably much lighter than this stripped-down Lada. This seems much better engineered, amazing as it sounds.
This Lada pedal car is an ankle breaker. They need to have a one way ratcheting linkage to stop serious injuries.
@@MushookieMan That quadricycle didn't have one either. Only the incredibly loose and inefficient transmission mitigated the risk. Each one of the rear wheels was connected to a different pair of pedal/sprockets and chains, so effectively the front and rear passenger of one side of the bike drove only that side's wheel . You needed either 2 or 4 persons in order to have balanced power. There was no central transmission like in this Lada.
@@Velktron Most off the shelf bicycles, including fixed gear bikes, don't allow the wheels to back-drive the pedals and break your ankles. Hard to believe that quadricycle didn't have one. But the important difference here is the Lada has a ton of mass, and so a ton of momentum, assuming it has a similar gearing ratio to the quadricycle it can transmit force well beyond that.
@@MushookieMan Even factory-made tandem bikes usually don't have a freewheel at every set of cranks, even if there's one at the final drive of the wheel: if you slack you simply get pulled/"cranked" along :-) This Lada is more similar to a pedal boat, in that respect. There, two sets of cranks on the same shaft drive a single, cemtrally-placed paddled wheel. No good for slackers, let me tell you that ;-)
Love it!! Well done!! You could have used bicycle pedals to make pedalling easier, because they have bearings in them.
How about an electric Lada? Powered off the mains with a great big cable..
Trolleylada
3 phase 600v induction motor
I was literally thinking “oh and then you can just put a generator in the back seat!” Although I’m not gonna lie, that does sound like something they’d do
@@MiniMoto0098 Hey now that would be cool too. Or even a massive one on a trailer..
I was gonna say a homemade steam engine or sterling engine.
I betting no body wants a lift now 🤣
Loved it absolutely hilarious 😍
OK, that is fantastic. beautifully built. (not for looks but engineered) Your lad made that look so easy and it really isn't. To get that right first time! Impressive.
great when you get stuck in trafic and that's when your consumption is through the roof, and pedal your way out of it
May get better torque with larger pedal gears.
If I lived in Russia I would come around and give it a try. I recently started bike riding with a buddy and his son so there are 3 of us. Perfect for your carke. (Car + bike)
Could call it a 'Cike' or a 'Bar' 😂
@@punisher3607 or a 'Cake'. I nearly called it that xD
Next: turbocharging. I would advise against nitrous oxide: that would put the three engines to sleep. :D
If they all drank some red bull they'd probably get it to 0-60 in 3 seconds 😆
I was getting out of breath and having leg cramps just watching them! 😲😁
I think proper pedals large enough to cover your entire foot and especially freehubs, gears or whatever to allow each person to freewheel might make things a bit more efficient.
It's got better acceleration than Ladzilla
You know what would be cool... If we can replace the engine with a high torque impact wrench. Maybe something that's battery powered
Or run an elecric ingin, charging with dynamo/generator driven with pedalpower.
Life od did a video about that.
@@M4CHINE69 somebody else might be able to do a better video about it
Very 'Flintstones'. There is a Charity in the UK that has built a 12 seat one which is used as transport for disadvantaged children to and from sports venues etc. The children love it and is good excercise for them. It has proper bicycle derailliear gears so is easy to pedal. It is a 12 person quadricycle with a lightweight frame and has electric assistance for the many hills in the area.
Build a second one and then have a tug of war with the garage 54 team.
Too easy. They could just turn the ratio up to 1:1000 and they wouldn't stand a chance
3mins post time I love garage 54!!
I love to tinker with things and channel is my dreams.
You guys should combine this experiment with the clear body paneled Lada for weight reduction add a 4th peddler maybe a fwd transaxle in the rear for less moving parts. Keep up the good work.
Need a bell on the steering wheel. Had one on my tricycle 67 years ago.
Awesome!
Reminds me on the Ferdinand GT3 and the Fahrradi Farfalla from that austrian Artist a few years ago.
Thanks for sharing 👍😀
I've watched like 30 episodes and finally understood the garage 54 name
Well done! Quite fun
This is pretty darn good!
Would be cool to see if you could run a dynamo, to run an electric motor, or keap charge on a 12 volt battey, to run it as an electric car, with pedals.
This is awesome. So much fun. Thanks.
Love this!
Make a rear wheel drive car that steers from the back tires
They have those tho? Not in cars but in off road some trucks/vehicles have rear steering
Done hundreds of times, 5% of them on this channle.
I'm imagining them hodgepodging together a Lada and a forklift to make that happen.
@@ex35240sx yeah but only the rear wheels steer. Like the fronts are fixed
@@robertdooley8272 have you seen the dual engine cars that can spin both wheels opposite ways aka a weird badass burnout im pretty sure it was on hoonigan
Things don't change that might sell even here in Florida..
That is what I'm talking about about. A handsome Lada pedal motor car. Complete with pre-dented body panels, no roof to keep you cool in the winter while getting a pedal workout.
Gas savings up the whaaazoo.
Steam powered, wood burner next? You get your power and heat for the winter all in one!
Awesome, a current year video!!!
I'm finally caught up! Lol
Brilliant.
You should pump the tires up to max, excellent video! Благодарю вас!!😄
One of your all time best videos for laughs. Very very funny . You guys are awesome ! I laughed so hard .....thank you
Thats awesome!!!!!
Thats when picking up your pals on the way to work becomes an advantage.
Hmmmmm. Firstly build a 5 seater version with proper pedals. Secondly have the pedals spin a large heavy vertical flywheel. Thirdly have a conventional clutch that connects from the flywheel to the gearbox - you should use a 5 or 6 speed with reduction ratios 3:1, 2:1, 1:1 and overdrive gears, 1:1.5, 1:2, 1:2.5.. Finally as you observed, reduce weight. In theory a fly wheel allows the passengers to "load up" the fly wheel with energy, and the spin should smooth out the power making it more practical to drive at any speed or distance.
You guys are totally crazy... in the nicest possible way! 🙂
Nice adding gears I was hoping from the begging yall did. Guy at the back had me laughing looks hilarious 😂
Top car program!
How about using a giant flywheel? Get that spinning first, then engage clutch.
So basically like a inertia flywheel?
That's a good idea actually! Let the inertia of the flywheel keep it moving so everyone can rest their pedalling for a few seconds here and there.
It'd be interesting how much that still weighs even with the engine removed. The chassis/body/wheels/transmission still have some decent weight. I'd guess it still weighs around 600lbs plus the weight of the passengers. That's tough to move around with pedal power.
You now know how a Lada engine feels like
T line 6 cylinder engine
Running on beer and food
Needs more gears and a flywheel to keep the motion and lessen the load..
I am one of the flowers to your channel and super like your experiments. I have seen many videos on UA-cam on how separate hydrogen from water and make is as an official green fuel to vehicle, so i am Waiting for another and new experiment that showed in simple way how to separate hydrogen from water and make it as fuel to the vehicle by injecting the hydrogen to the intake or any other part in the vehicle and make it as kind of hybrid vehicle and get a good gas mileage.
I hope these guys take this to the next level and modify the hubs for a few bicycle hub motors. Make a Garage54 Hybrid car.
It would probably end up working quite well, I imagine a 35km/h cruising speed would not be out of reach with a human/electric hybrid car.
Best 54 build
You were missing the main feature in a car … the big stereo with the doof doof music pumping..
Brilliant 👍👍
Now you can put 3 electric bicycle motors for easy pedaling and give some speed changing gear ratio ring size...
A great piece of fabrication. And it all worked even the piece of rebar for a gear stick. Well done! I think you should take it out on the public roads but with an added extra... A steel pole for a lance attached to that bonnet mount to push cars out of the way! And I can't believe your weather?? Look at that sunshine - and the beautiful azure blue of that cloudless sky. It looks more like Los Angeles not Siberia!! How long does your summer last before the return of Minus 30 degrees?
Thank you for making my dream come true
Again when you start laughing only from the thumbnail and the description!
Should have used drive axles front and back - Front seat drive the front axle back seat the rear. You'd have the world's only 4X4 peddlada.
Suggestion for upcoming videos: use the lada engine to run a generator to power an electronic motor to power the driven wheel, the idle engine speed should use lesser fuel as a generator while creating steady electrical supply.
Wood gasifier up next!!! 🔥👍 great video and team work.
KRAZY cool. A super lite unit with sand tires on the beach would surely get you laid!
On the beach alone like a chad
Fueled by vodka, totally green and sustainable 🤣
nice ride
I vet you could sell pieces of stuff featured on this channel for a nice price.
Some of the wooden stuff you've made, random pieces, etc.
Make $$!
How about 4 people each doing a different thing - one steering, one accelerating, one braking and one changing gears - and have them go through a slalom course
Change weels to motorbike weels. And cut some of the weight out of it.
Las locuras que hacéis son increíbles muy buenos vídeos. Congratulations
Hacéis es vosotros?
Very cool. I wonder how efficient this can be made.
Remove even more weight.
Lighter, thinner wheels.
Just build a rail style frame as a pedal car and see how well it works.
Now put Miguel Indurain and Lance Armstrong in the back. 😂
Or a Chris Froome, Primoz Rolic and Egan Bernal...
''Rubber-band-Steering'' = Could make for some fun driving
''Asphalt Tires'' = How long will they last on different surfaces?
''Why am i wasting my Ideas here?'' = I don't know, Garage 54 will never read it any way.
Could always try cutting holes in the floor in front of the seats and do this "Flintstone" style.
Brilliant... HOWEVER, it's quicker walking lads!
Immediate increase of 321% in economy!
Reminds me of the old show the flintstones lol
Walking definitely looks the better option!
McDonalds, for a fill-up!!
Garage54 gym on the job.
Now here me out fellas, what about a version with just two wheels and one seat? And maybe bars instead of a steering wheel?
I think I'll get working on that myself...
On a serious note, Another crazy idea by these guys! Hilarious and entertaining as always. Thanks BMI Russian for the translation as always!
"Now here me out"
hear
Now hear me out, what if we did this with a picnic table and had drinks while we pedaled?
@@shawbros blame my auto correct. Always changing things for proper to improper. 🤷♂️
@@buffuniballer now you're really onto something there!
Make a party one where the people sit at table drink, party and pedal with separate driver up front
Try putting a BALL bearing between poston and connecting rod
Isn't that just a factory standard Lada 🤣🤣 great experiment 👍
Now put a pedal assist motor on it to help easy up the pedaling off a electric bike a disc with magnets fitted to one of the shafts on the pedal it would be interesting to see how many watts on the motors to get it moving easily.
Well, without exhausting themselves 3 men pedaling together can produce 1 sustained HP, and on some BeamNG drive channel it was "proven" that a 1HP car can move at comparable speeds, some 15-20 km/h on a straight road.
Super fuckin cool! It works! Even in all gears and directions.
Place transmission for them chains possibly ramp the speed
Hahaha! That was awesome!
Try put some lighter seats and cut all the internal frame leaving only the exterior shell
I think this is cool. is there a way you could do something with the foot cranks to either keep it as easy to pedal and get more speed or make it easier to pedal and still get more speed? If you could get it to a reasonable speed maybe 48-56 kph you could maybe actually have something of use on back roads or where it would be safe. I mean , thats not super fast for a car in a city setting however it is still faster than walking and would actually get you somewhere fast. Good build .
Lol i was expected E-Lada:)
Nice
I want to see the day these guys build some madmax machine from an electronic forklift and a lada.
Next u should try converting into an small Engine assisted pedal cart
Yabba Dabba DOO!
Fuel through carb normally leaves out much of fuel unburnt that itself is big waste. I read 40 to 60 percent max fuel gets burned rest just passes out as exhaust gas. I suggest a project that some small heating chamber of which the heating element nichrome or kanthal wire is encapsulated in ceramic or may be ceramic heater which boils petrol as normally not much heat is needed for petrol to turn into fumes and some water cannister be attached so that backfire won't catch fire and it is feeder like cng or lpg gas to carb. Best thing is to try on 100cc motorcycle for evaluating the prospects of this ceramic bulb ...what will be your opinion Sir.
godbess garage 54 greeting from phililines :)
You guys are bloody mad but hilarious! We could do with this in the UK as an alternative to all these bloody Teslas!!
Itd be cooler as a paddle boat..
Nice tribulation car!
Yabba Ladda Dooooooooooooo!
They should've done this on the weight-reduced Ladda.
U should try this again with a 10 speed or something with lots of gears see how fast u can get it going like that
the pedals should be good, the round tube is not good underfoot. The pedal surface should be larger. weld some plates to it and also the bearings so that they rotate easily
