I´d love to see an update on this when the new leaf grew! I´m so excited for how its gonna look! I myself ordered a Monstera variegata cutting. It didnt have a lot of variegation, but I couldnt resist the price and just wanted to see if the variegation would continue. I transferred it to soil a couple months back and the new leaf is finally out. Its such a beautiful leaf with a little variegaton, but this plant is literally giving me anythinggggg I love MV so muchhhh
LOVE THIS!!! only recommendation is to pot your plants up with PRE MOISTENED SOIL! Using dry soil creates air pockets and it doesn’t get evenly watered. Dry soil can also suck out all the moisture from the root hairs which can lead to root decay if left long enough. Would hate for that beauty to die!
So many root noodles! Finally potting a node/leaf is always both nerve-racking and exciting, I find it funny how I always end up looking at something newly potted every 5 minutes just to make sure it's ok and settling in. Can't wait to see a spring/summer update when it starts going through a growth spurt and pushing out new leaves left right and centre. And your cat is an absolute plant terrorizer! 🤣 I can't imagine how many other heart attacks he's given you off camera.
Hah, I've had my variegated Monstera for nearly a year now and it's sadly gone dormant for the last 6 months. At first I thought it was root rot but now I've finally discovered it just doesnt get enough light in order to grow in northern germany outside of July and August. I Put it under a grow light 3 days ago and finally I'm starting to see some growth again. Awesome to see more people like you who are so invested in a single plant :D the variegated cuttings seem to be much cheaper here though. Mine only cost 50€.
How exciting to see the new leaf start coming in. We definitely need more updates but gurl that table!!!....I need to check my blood pressure lol 😂 my heart dropped when I saw the table move the first time and then I 😵 the second time it moved. I’m glad it’s ok!! 👍
Good call not burying the stem, when I potted mine, I did it at a slight angle so some of the stem + the new leaf bud are out of the soil, otherwise the new bud might rot in the moist soil.
Your cat is a literal show stopper. 😅 Also currently propagating an albo leaf cutting. I initially put it in leca but decided to add a ton of water just today too. 😅 (Not sure if I should do straight water propagation since it has 2 nodes.) Beautiful albo cutting!
Oh thank goodness. I just got my albo cutting and she is SUPER floppy. I'm assuming its because it's cold where I am from and she got some cold damage, so it's comforting to hear that yours did something similar!
Your cat is hilarious...but I was nervous that he (or his tail) was going to knock over your plant(s)...especially when plopped himself down on the floor lol...🌿🌿
The cat won’t rest until the plants that get all the attention are destroyed! 🤣 Omg your albo rooted so fast! Mine it’s been in perlite and still no sign of roots (it’s been less than a month tho 🤔) Keep the updates coming ❤️
Yay! I have adansonii cuttings to transfer and this gave me some courage. Mine are not hundreds of dollars, so it will all be fine. Lol. Best of luck to your bb's! And mine too 💕 🤣😊
If u r not sure, it’s always best to gradually introducing those roots to air, by rooting from water to sphagnum moss or leca, and finally to soil mix. And dont burry the stem
Morning Erika. Please. Please updates please. I have the hardest times w transition from water to soil. Also, I keep reading / hearing moist but not wet soil until I know roots have established themselves. Ugh. What does moist but not wet mean? 😂 NOT ❤🌿
Ahh nooo!! Don’t bury the stem in the soil especially since it’s new to soil, it can rot the node and continue that rot from the cut! Just put the roots in soil the stakes will hold up the plant 😊
Mine is still sitting in moss, 2 leaves later and I am still TOO scared to repot it into soil 😭The weather in California is so much better than Vancouver so I think I'm going to wait until the spring/summer months to repot it. THANKS FOR THIS, WISHING UR BABY THE BEST OF LUCK! 🤎
Omg that is totally something I would do 😂 I had to force myself to pot it after I realized it had already been 2 months!! It would probably be a lot better for you to pot in spring/summer so good call & good excuse lol 🤪 also sending good luck to you & ur baby 🤩💚
I’ve been rooting my expensive plants in water then switching it to perlite cause I’m too scared to make the transition to soil 😂 so far it seems to be going good though. I’ve noticed new root growth in the perlite on my PPP and Gloriousum in the perlite and they’ve both been putting out new leaves so they definitely are alive lol. Best luck to you and your albo
Please do updates!!! Can’t wait to see it grow over spring & summer 😍 also you cat is super cute but gave me so much anxiety waking around bumping your plants 😂
We are plant twins, I bought the exact same one leaf albo about a month ago. Used a similar soil mix as you, same pot as you but I see no leafs growing out of the node :(
Omg love! I just got an rooter albo cutting a month ago and it’s currently in spaghnum moss ! Anxious to see a new leaf come!! Also, where did you get your cute little mixing scoop and bowl from?!
Can we have an update I just ordered a cutting of monstera albo and it came rooted and I’m debating if I should plant it or pitot in water for a few days
Erika.. I need to know how yours is doing. I’m about to pot mine and, much like you, I am TERRIFIED. I need to know yours is doing well to feel a little better 😂
My first monstera albo is at the exact same stage as yours, and now I know that the new growth probably is a leaf and not a new root (yeay!), so thank your for this video. Do you think there's any reason to add fertilizer at this point, or is it best to let the plant just do it's thing by itself?
I’ve literally had my albo cutting since July 2020 and it’s just starting to form its first little leaf bump, how did you get yours to grow so fast!?!?
I’d love updates. I finally potted my non verjagtet monstera and that has been traumatizing enough 😭 I left it in the water a long time cus I was to scared to loose it lol. And now it’s in soil and I’m scared if it’ll make the transition 🥺
Ooh girl I should’ve stuck with my albo water propagation but I was freaking out when the ends callused and turned black I thought it was rotting so I switched it to perlite then it didn’t root after over a month so I switched it again 😅 to moss and it was rooting beautiful but I took it over board and let the moss stay a little to wet and so the leaf started dying and my roots rotted so now I’m left with a wet stick that has no root but it pushing out a little leaf I hope it makes it 🤞🏼🙏🏼
I want to know the evolution of the plant, even (especially) if it goes well ;) Btw I also want to know what you wanted to say at the end just before being interrupted by your cat again, "I like this pot, I like the..." the what? please ahahah, because I don't know if I am strange but personally I love when terra cotta pots get old like that :p
Supply and demand I dont know much about monsteras but maybe its hard to propogate or people just dont to keep it expensive Also people might want it more because of its huge leaves
I have a marble queen which I LOOOVE also! The fenestrations & large leaves of a monstera just hit different than the smaller taco shaped Pothos leaves. They are soo gorgeous imo 😍
That pot looks way to big... Remember u gave ur melanochrysum and verrocosum root rot maybe it should be a smaller pot like a 4inch. Then by summer it'll need a bigger pot.
I didn’t change it very often, only when the water got too green. Otherwise I just topped it off, because I didn’t want to move the plant around too much.
No we definitely need monthly updates lol PLZ
Erika, I'm gonna need a full cat video. I'm sorry, he stole the show and I'm in love with him. LOOK AT HIMS LITTLE LUV RUBS!
ALSO PETITION FOR FULL CAT VIDEO
The cat hitting the table made me flash back to a few months ago when you dropped plants off the table and almost had a heart attack
It gave me flashbacks too 🥺 I was rlly ready to catch it
Would love to see an update on this!
Yes please update as its new leaf comes and and unfurls! So happy for you!
I´d love to see an update on this when the new leaf grew! I´m so excited for how its gonna look!

sending this plant lots of love and good energy so it thrives with no complications!!!
When you asked yourself if you should stake it I yelled YES YES YES at the screen lmaoooo
Lol 😂 😂😂😂 you knew what was best
That cat is so jealous of all your plant attention! Those roots look so beautiful and healthy. Nice job growing those out!
So many root noodles! I hope it does grow that fast ☺️ also, if I leave a water propagation where he can reach... he will definitely spill it trying to drink from it 😭
Your Albo looks great and healthy, I don't think you will have a problem. I think it maybe time for a sturdier table 😊. Great video.
I have the exact same humidifier and it works soo well I have my alocasia cove where mine is
It’s so good right?! I didn’t expect to love it so much
this is so so helpful!! i have a cutting currently rooting, i’d love an update in a month or 2!
Ok but that THAI CONSTELLATION in the back is gorgeous
Love it! Very useful tips too - my cutting just arrived today so I’m looking for helpful videos.
This is so exciting!!! Good luck!
Lol the cat was trying to take the albo out lol

Looking forward too update! Hopefully with its new leaf! 😍

Yes I definitely need to get a new one! I wasn’t expecting it to shake like that
Good call not burying the stem, when I potted mine, I did it at a slight angle so some of the stem + the new leaf bud are out of the soil, otherwise the new bud might rot in the moist soil.
Wow thats a wonderful plant!!!
Your cat is a literal show stopper. 😅 Also currently propagating an albo leaf cutting. I initially put it in leca but decided to add a ton of water just today too. 😅 (Not sure if I should do straight water propagation since it has 2 nodes.) Beautiful albo cutting!
I’ve never really gotten into leca, but I hope it goes well for you 😄
Cute potting tools color
Thank you! 💙
Oh thank goodness. I just got my albo cutting and she is SUPER floppy. I'm assuming its because it's cold where I am from and she got some cold damage, so it's comforting to hear that yours did something similar!

Sending good vibes to your plant so it will root soon 😚

Oh heck ya you definitely got this!! Good luck 💗💗

I hope you don’t have a “cat”astrophe 🌿
Loved that thumbnail and video transition!
Ooooh thank you hehe
how much or long do you keep your humidifier on? How often did you change your water and what kind of water??
Please update every month! I finally purchased an albo cutting and want to know what progress is generally expected!
Yes 🙌🏼 a just because video!!!! ☺️💓☺️
Do you have more updates on your albo~ would love to see how it looks now!
Please updates us on the growth!! I'm actually buying one within the next 2 weeks and I'm freaking out!!!
If u r not sure, it’s always best to gradually introducing those roots to air, by rooting from water to sphagnum moss or leca, and finally to soil mix. And dont burry the stem
Such a pretty cutting! :)
Thanks 🥺💗

Hey I think we actually went to school together in the valley lol thanks for the tips

Lisa A. Erika girl you got this this spring he is going to be looking sharp and new leaves just for his new mom.
I need a plant update! ❤️

It will grow fine with the moss but after a couple year the moss becomes acidic, so bare that in mind.
Omg that is totally something I would do 😂 I had to force myself to pot it after I realized it had already been 2 months!! It would probably be a lot better for you to pot in spring/summer so good call & good excuse lol 🤪 also sending good luck to you & ur baby 🤩💚

I’m curious to know what happen with your monstera albo!! Could you make a video update!??
Hi Erika can you do an update with this albo monstera?
Please do updates!!! Can’t wait to see it grow over spring & summer 😍 also you cat is super cute but gave me so much anxiety waking around bumping your plants 😂
Hello Erika! how the Monstera is going? 😀
Please update us when that new leaf comes out!
Lol ur cat is so cute! 🐈
Thank you!!! I love him 🥰

I bought an albo leaf right around the time you did.. mine got stem rot that traveled up to the node 😭 leaf is still beautiful though
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that 🙁
Your cat is coming for it!!! 😅😅
Coming for all my plants 🥵
Can we have an update I just ordered a cutting of monstera albo and it came rooted and I’m debating if I should plant it or pitot in water for a few days
Please another update! :D

my anxiety when the cat kept walking around

Can we get an update please? And how it’s doing in soil 😁
Should I propagate in water if it’s been sitting on sphagnum moss, or should i go straight to potting ?
Just got a cutting! Is it okay for the node to be submerged in water? I see yours is in the water but I have been told NO. help 😭
Where did u get that terquoise plastic bin and shovel ?
Can we can an update? I looked to see if there was one, but didn’t see one.

@erika update please
How do you keep your cat from digging in your plants?
is there already any update?! 🥺👉🏼👈🏼
omg my cats do the same thing! ..and they love to chew on my parlor palm :(
I want to know the evolution of the plant, even (especially) if it goes well ;) Btw I also want to know what you wanted to say at the end just before being interrupted by your cat again, "I like this pot, I like the..." the what? please ahahah, because I don't know if I am strange but personally I love when terra cotta pots get old like that :p
I think she was going to say “the patina” on the pot.
@@cherylparks9780 ahah I think that too, thanks ;)
Ya I was going to say the patina!! I love when the pots get old too. They just look soooo much nicer 🥰
@@ErikaLodes yeaah we love the patina!! I agree so much, the older they get the fancier they look! Thanks Erika for you answer :))
I can't understand why a plant which looks like a marbel queen pothos is expensive, when that sells for 5 dollars, please explain.
Supply and demand
I dont know much about monsteras but maybe its hard to propogate or people just dont to keep it expensive

where is the update?!!!!!

شكرا لك🌹
That pot looks way to big... Remember u gave ur melanochrysum and verrocosum root rot maybe it should be a smaller pot like a 4inch. Then by summer it'll need a bigger pot.
ITS STILL ALIVE?
I'm so worried when you buried all the stem, especially for sensitive and expensive plant like Monstera Albo. For me, I won't do that.
Do you change the water for your cutting ?
I didn’t change it very often, only when the water got too green. Otherwise I just topped it off, because I didn’t want to move the plant around too much.
@@ErikaLodes Thanks Erika!
