So glad I came across this video. This is almost carbon copy of whats going on with my albo. It shot roots out so fast, got tons of roots, then put out a little bud. I moved it to soil, the nub is small but has gotten a bit bigger. We're on month 3 and 3 weeks. So this video gave me great relief that mine just isn't a fluke.
I’m new to your channel and what brought me to you was your cactus tour at a nursery, definitely subscribed just because I love how you explain everything going on and you keep updates which help not just me but others get an idea of just exactly how you did it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Mama leaf did a good job and she’s getting ready to retire. Great variegation so it’s all good 👍🏾 I would like to see how far you keep it from your south facing window.
Yeah, I had to study programming (computer science) to understand what my husband talked to me, I was very ignorant about it. We watch marvel all the time, before I enjoyed it, but now is not like an Oscar movie (nobody hear I said that). He loves stay with me, but I love outdoors, and I can’t drive, so he had to make an effort at first to camping, but now he loves it. Why I invited this guy to go out, even when he was my opposite? Because, at first I met him, I felt so much peaceful. People, say that’s true love, and I’m agree❤. 5 years happy married, and 7 since we met.
Is there any specific soil you used to grow this Monstera Albo? saw your comment on Bretman's video and I was amazed by your knowledge about these plants and we're growing our collection now at home, love and respect from the Philippines 🥰
My monstera albo cutting grew its first leaf and it’s as small as yours. I thought I did something wrong. I’m glad it’s normal. Hope our 3rd leaf doubles in size 🌱
Yay!!! Happy new leaf!! 💚 Amazed at how long it took to get one. It’s on its way now an hope you have big momma leaves soon😀 Enjoyed the journey with it.
Congrats on the new leaf! and sorry to hear the OG leaf is yellowing but the important thing is the roots are down (and even busting above the soil line!) and there's new growth so you know the vine is now stable. You'll be enjoying new fenestrations in no time.
I am glad it is doing so well, I am thinking why it took so long to push out new leaf it was growing the roots first to support the new leaf. I find that with Bonsai that go threw root pruning. Love the update.
I bought one leaf cutting back in March, a little later after watching your video, now it got 3 leaves, I feel like it’s growing faster than I thought, because the mine leaf was much much smaller than yours
I watered it more often than I am now. When I noticed the top part of the soil was starting to dry, I would poke around to see if the soil wasn’t still super wet. Then I would water. Now I wait until the soil is mostly dry before watering!
Yay!! So happy to see its doing well. Been excited for this update! I think yours and mine are siblings lol mine has a 3rd leaf unfurling with no fenestrations unfortunately, but I hope yours has better luck than mine!! Looking forward to more updates! 🪴
Mine is in the exact same situation. I bought my rootless leaf on Thanksgiving and a couple weeks ago the baby leaf finally opened. So cute and exciting. But Holy cow it took it's sweet time, LOL
Wow I didn’t realize how fast mine has been growing, I got my one leaf cutting in the middle of January and it’s working on its fifth leaf now! I fertilize with every watering!
Its beautiful Erica! I am so happy for you! If I ever get a Monstera, its going to be an Albo or a Thai Constellation. Aint got no room for a green one.
Have you ever been plant shopping at any of the Swapmeets in LA? I’ve heard there’s lots of plants at the Chino swapmeet but it’s two hours away frm me so I haven’t went 😣
I have a regular Monstera that has multiple arial roots that are up to 5’ long and crawling across the floor. I even cut them back one time but they just keep on growing, so I’m just letting them go and see how long they get.
uhmm, ok your plant will start over u bought a cutting so now u will have to go threw all growing stages its not just going to magically be mature just cause the leaf u bought it for.... got my thai in October and its on its second leaf in my care... the original doesnt count. Crazy, wonder why its growing so slow but yaya its growing and nice new speckled leaf :) :) . :( Hope it gets bigger now that its in the cabinet. That's where I had mine just recently took it out on July 5th cause was to humid and by the 8th it has a new leaf. :) so happy!!!
Lots of light like 18 hours and more water I have got 4 leaves off a new stem in 2 months and also use a little hydroponic weed fertilizer, and also I learned they don't appreciate being moved around to less light cause the white in the leaves went out and were clear but then returned when I put it back in the bright spot
@@ErikaLodes I'm thinking holy shit the plant babe liked my comment 😆 Do you sell plants? I have got a snowflake aralia baby on the way, sorry bout the name I'm not a cartoon I'm a plant dork named Luke
Hi I just put my monstera in soil and I was wondering if you watered your newly potted plant more often at first as it was transitioning or did you let it completely dry between waterings?
my albo took 9 months to put out its first leaf, but its about to be two years old and now has 9 new leaves! once established they thrive like no other
What soil mixture did you use again? I’ve watched all your videos but I forgot what soil you used 😅 I recently got an albo and I think it’s ready to be repotted in soil too!
It waaas like 40% coco coir, 30% pumice, 10% medium sized orchid bark, 5% regular sized orchid bark (idk it doesn’t have a size specification but it’s smaller than med & bigger than fine) & 5% worm castings
Just two questions. With your potting mixed and your environment, when you'll watering it again? Do you wait until the soil dried out or you watering it by schedule?
I wait until the soil dries now. When I first put it into soil I wouldn’t let the soil dry as much, it would still be damp like an inch down. I don’t do it by schedule bc sometimes it’s hotter so the soil dries faster than on colder days
Maybe that pot is too big for the cutting, so it was trying to grow roots instead of putting out new growth... I've seen huge monsteras in tiny pots so I'm just guessing.
Tbh just be patient & take care of it make sure it’s getting enough light etc. Right now it’s probably just focused on establishing a healthy root system
I want to let you know that I really appreciate your time and craft in making videos and caring for plants. Thank you!!
I love the plant community. 🤣 I’m genuinely excited and proud of your new leaf. Congratulations!!! 🪴💚🤗

Thank you so much for sharing this. My albo cutting has had a bud for about 6 weeks now and I was starting to get worried. This was very reassuring!

Have a nice Day!

Monstera can be grown hydroponically. I planted it in the soil again from hydroponics, and it sprouts, and my friend's skill is excellent.👏👏👏

OMG 😱 THAT PLANT IS SOOOO PRETTY
Congratulations 🎉 what a beautiful leaf 🍃
Thank you for the update! Love watching you 😊

I agree about the roots 🥵 I kind of want to unpot it to see how they look
Sounds like a video idea right there.
Hoping to purchase one as soon as prices come down very happy for your new leave
I bought one leaf cutting back in March, a little later after watching your video, now it got 3 leaves, I feel like it’s growing faster than I thought, because the mine leaf was much much smaller than yours
Ohhh that’s a good point. The roots had to support such a huge leaf. Wowowow ur baby is thriving it is growing 300% faster than mine 😂
So happy for you. It looks beautiful 😍😍
Yay! I'm so glad it finally gave you a new leaf!
Yayayy!!
I just got a cutting and have been watching your albo videos! It’s like you knew I was waiting for an update!!!💚😂
Also- how was the transition from water to soil? Did you water it the same amount as you have been this entire time?
I watered it more often than I am now. When I noticed the top part of the soil was starting to dry, I would poke around to see if the soil wasn’t still super wet. Then I would water. Now I wait until the soil is mostly dry before watering!
Nice variegation, it’s Luv’n life!
Great work!!
yay to the new leaf! Hope it gives you more soon, yay
Such a lil treasure
Finally! Glad it's doing well. Congrats!
Been waiting for this video and so glad to see it’s made some awesome progress 🤗

My first albo cutting is on it's way to my house rn, this video is perfect timing! Yours is beautiful and I bet it will take off now!
Yours is literally EXPLODING!! I’m gonna be fertilizing every time I water now too. It better catch up to yours 👀
Damn, that took forever! Bless your patience lol!
Its beautiful Erica! I am so happy for you! If I ever get a Monstera, its going to be an Albo or a Thai Constellation. Aint got no room for a green one.
Hi Erika! Would love to see a Q&A video about you would be very interesting to learn more about you!
Wow.. Absolutely amazing.. 🌿🌸👍👍

That is suuuper long! Mine is p long but maybe only like 2 feet 🥲
@@ErikaLodes I use Eleanor’s VF-11 fertilizer every time I water, I don’t know if that’s the reason but it sure seems to like it.

Wait..the new leaf looks like a Pothos Marble Queen. Ha-ha just kidding! Congrats on your adventure, and thanks for the videos. 🙂
It actually kind of does!! That’s prob why I love marble queens so much
Hi Erika! Do you keep begonia?
Small but very CUTE 😁
The leaf is the cutest omg haha
Lots of light like 18 hours and more water I have got 4 leaves off a new stem in 2 months and also use a little hydroponic weed fertilizer, and also I learned they don't appreciate being moved around to less light cause the white in the leaves went out and were clear but then returned when I put it back in the bright spot
Wow that’s so much growth 🤩 yes they love lots of light! But not so much they go full white

Where did you purchase your beautiful plant baby?
Hi I just put my monstera in soil and I was wondering if you watered your newly potted plant more often at first as it was transitioning or did you let it completely dry between waterings?
I watered it more often than I normally would. Not fully dried out, but almost
my albo took 9 months to put out its first leaf, but its about to be two years old and now has 9 new leaves! once established they thrive like no other
Omg 9 months!! That’s literally a baby 😂 I think so too, once they’re set they grow faster. I hope it’s true for mine
Yay!! Finally!! :) been wondering what happened with this one
Lol ya she’s a snail
I really want one of these! But I’m scared I’ll burn it and somehow kill it. Crazy that it took so long to push out that leaf, but it’s so cute.

I got a cutting with no aerial root. I haven’t seen any change in like 2 weeks. Should I be worried? 🥺
What fertilizer do you use for your monstera albo?
Super pretty my friend
Thank you 😇
great
hi how is your albo doing? really interested on how much it has grown :D
Please keep us updated on the yellowing of the leaf! 😰
What fertilizer do you use?
I have one just like yours with a little nub.....so exciting
😍
Hi! How’s this albo looking today?? 🌱
My monstera hasn’t sprouted a new leaf it’s been months ! 😓
Maybe that pot is too big for the cutting, so it was trying to grow roots instead of putting out new growth... I've seen huge monsteras in tiny pots so I'm just guessing.
I wish I could also get this dream plant. love from India
My cutting you got a new leaf too but is tiny is that normal
I've have my plant for 4 months with one leaf the roots are great but I don't see any new leafs how do a get a new leaf
Tbh just be patient & take care of it make sure it’s getting enough light etc.
Right now it’s probably just focused on establishing a healthy root system
🌱❤️❤️
I’ve still got the little nubin….months ⏰
