Incredible review, thank you so much... I am totally sold. Infact with this i then have a problem deciding between it and the M550i. I am much older now and so do not need too much power, hence no pure M cars for me. But i am so glad BMW puts out these models that make it worth having it. I could never drive anything less than a 6cyl car except in Audis. Years ago i had an A4 1.8T Quattro and that thing was so peppy that sometimes i would drive it and even come out shaking with adrenaline. Imagine what this M340 has!!! Thanks again.

Ive been really considering selling my 2017 Mustang GT for one of these. I feel like this is a much better daily but I can stay in the same power range
Fantastic review! I purchased my first BMW 2 months ago, a 2022 M340i. I literally couldn't be happier! I echo everything you mentioned in this review. It truly is the ultimate driving machine! Just got the M-Performance Exhaust installed yesterday too. I do wish I was able to tune the car though, I'm hoping they open that up for the newer models in the future.
People are sending their ECU's to get unlocked so they can tune it but I think in a few years tuners will have it figured out to where you don't have to do it that way
This is my dream daily driver car 😁. I don't care much for the new refreshed one (looks too tame and having one long screen is a no go for me). This one has that aggressive front end and the interior layout is much better imo.
Currently drive (and love) my Alfa Romeo Giulia, but recently test drove a fully loaded BMW M3 Competition with X-Drive and fell in love with it. Didn’t pull the trigger on it because car prices are way overkill right now due to the market and like I said, I love my Alfa. I’ve had BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi in the past and have been thinking of going back to MB with an AMG until I drove that M3, this video and your thoughts got me considering an M340i, however, my biggest thing I dislike about it is that they for some reason didn’t use a flat bottom sport steering wheel in both the M340i and the M3, which blows my mind and yes, classic BMW it has a pretty lackluster interior for me, but great features. Thanks for sharing!
I have had that car for 3 years now, i can say to prospective buyers that: 1/ i have tried to replace it just for a change, and couldn't find a package that was more appealing as a daily (even at a much higher price tag). I've had an M3 for a week, it's just too much for open roads and doesn't add much more feel at legal speeds. I also have a 911 GTS and I can say i don't feel like i'm downgrading much when taking the M340i with the family. It's that good. 2/ adaptative suspension is nice but comfort VS sport isn't that much of a difference. very hard to tell unless the road is really bad 3/ i get 9.4L /100 driving mostly mountain roads, with a heavy foot. 4/ i find that the "weakest" part is steering: it's precice but you get little feel. 5/ xdrive beamers have the turning radius of the titanic. you get used to it. 6/ nothing has broken down, nothing vibrates, it could pass for new even today. Overal: still probably the best do it all package available today, of any brand. I'd only consider a M550i as a replacement. try to get one like this with the real buttons and not that dumb screen.
Love this video! I got the 23 330I but I’m definitely going to look into the 340, i love my smooth ride but i also love a more faster vehicle! So we’ll see what’s in store in terms of my next vehicle, great review!
Great video man! Your presentation style and knowledge of the car is good and the videography is on point .I’m really looking at getting a M240 xdrive myself .Id love a M340 but it’s just out of my budget .But as long as I have a b58 I’m happy .So the Supra is on the maybe list as well .
I test drove an M340i and loved the power train, but didn't love the steering. I'm coming from an E91 328xi wagon, so the bar is high. In the end I leased a '23 Giulia Estrema. It's obviously down on power compared to the M340i, but it handles better and the steering is just incredible. Unlike any car out there outside of Porsche or a super car. It's also gorgeous. I'm planning on adding a piggyback tune which should close the performance gap a bit. If you're looking at BMWs, you owe it to yourself to check out the Giulia. Great value, and options are much cheaper. Plus its very unique and special.
@@youngcinna6141 it does not blow the doors off a Giulia. The Giulia is a much better car to drive, my ‘23 with carbon trim has a fantastic interior. The only thing the M340i has on the Giulia is the engine. That’s it. If you’re priority is straight line acceleration and the sound of the engine than the M340i is the car for you. And that’s totally cool.
Nah subscriptions are good and you know it. Anyone who complains about it is poor and are the benefactors of subscriptions making low spec models cheaper.
damn that is really efficient compare it to my sonata n line 2.5 turbo fwd does the same fuel economy as that but you have AWD and way more power ..... Great Review!
Hey nice vid. Just wanted to add wrt chassis tuning, the Alfa Giulia is phenomenal too and did hold (or still does hold?) a record on the NR. I’ve owned a Giulia and it’s a wonderful drive. I also always described turning feeling like a pivot from the center of the car. I’ve just recently however purchased a M140i second hand with the B58, and it’s an absolute beast. Very similar emotions to driving the Alfa, but with what feels like limitless power. Unbelievable. The M340i is definitely in my future.
@@Sleepygarage I actually went with 4 cylinder Giulia over the M340i. Crazy, I know, and I do wish Alfa had an in between engine like the B58 but to me driving dynamics and steering feel trumped the power and sound of the B58. I added an ECU and now the Alfa is a 4.5 second car, and much closer to M340i.
awesome video! very well done. Since you have first-hand experience, can you expand on the regular m sport suspension? i'm about to get a '23 M340i but overlooked the adaptive suspension. haven't signed for the car yet so could consider try getting a different vehicle. is it livable as a daily driver? obviously not expecting an m340i to be plush, but just want to make sure it's not painful to drive. I typically drive on highways
It is a great daily driver, it's not overbearing in stiffness or any other way. Seats are nice and comfy too, during my commute I just turn on adaptive cruise with lane keep and relax, its quiet and comfy.
I ended up buying a TLX Type S - it was that brand new or a used m340i. Part of me thinks I should of waited and got an m340i (in a spec I like with the premium excellence package) but I’m enjoying the Type S a lot as well. It’s just not as fast out the box 😅
TLX TYPE S is sexy af tho, and the interior is nice too! I would question it as well for a New Type S vs Used M340... either way u couldn't have gone wrong, still more than fast enough for 99% of driving lol
@@Sleepygarage thats exactly how I saw it. I am coming from a redsport q60 and part of my complaint was that it’s lacking in driving dynamics and even though it was fast, it wasn’t as fun. The Type S in the past week or so of ownership has felt more confidence inspiring and more fun to drive. Besides performance I feel like the Type S outshines the m340i in a few departments (Sound system, comfort, interior design, value etc). But either way you can’t go wrong.
I’ve been eyeing the TLX since 2020, but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Recently, I’ve had a feeling that I may want to explore what else is out there, and this video has completely sold me on BMW. You might be about to get a TLX at a better price, but for what you get, the BMW is worth the money now.
Great video! I'm thinking about getting a m340 or m440 gran coupe myself. My other choice is the upcoming integra type s but I just don't know if I should make the jump from a bmw or not this time. I love my hatches which is why I'm so exited about the Integra type s as it's basically a nicer civic type r but then that means I'm getting yet another fwd 4 cylinder hatch.
Haha yeah I’ve had a VW GLI and a Civic Type R before this both FWD four cylinders with LSDs and as much as I tried convincing myself i didn’t need a 6 cylinder or a RWD platformed car i was wrong. I feel like if you’re ready for the jump just switch it up and try a non four cylinder non FWD car. But if u aren’t ready for one the integra type s is a fun choice, prolly one of the best FWD cars out there.
Great review! Im in the market for a used m340i, Ive been primarily looking at the 2020 models are 2021+ became mild hybrids. There are reviews online that show a massive difference in exhaust sound in non mild hybrid vs mild hybrid. Do you know anything about this? Would you recommend either or?
Yeah the burbles u hear in this vid is because its a 2020, the 2021+ (mild-hybrid) got rid of 95% of the burbles. If you want burbles get the 2020, almost no difference in terms of anything else except slightly better gas mileage in 2021-22
Great review - just some nice practical 'driver' feedback!! I'm looking at an Audi S4 (B9 version 2017 +) but keep reading all sorts of stories around maintenance, various leaks, the engine always needing to be removed for major servicing and rock arm issues etc etc). So, naturally the m340i is the alternative but a little more expensive here in New Zealand used :( I took an m330i for a spin and wow you wouldn't believe that is a 4cyl turbo - it moves! Soooo - maybe i play the waiting game for the 340 :)

Honestly such a down to earth review I’ve really reconsidered getting this over a 330i
Preciate it bro, its worth the extra money!
This is the best ad ive seen for any car
I love your videos, keep it up
I’m a full time BMW fan no matter what 👍
Thank you! Haha BMW always.
this guy is so genuine and wholesome, i love it! touché on the video, very informative and nice to watch!
I appreciate that!
@@Sleepygarage what year m340i do you drive brother?
@@yusefawaidah1901 2020
Incredible review, thank you so much... I am totally sold. Infact with this i then have a problem deciding between it and the M550i. I am much older now and so do not need too much power, hence no pure M cars for me. But i am so glad BMW puts out these models that make it worth having it. I could never drive anything less than a 6cyl car except in Audis. Years ago i had an A4 1.8T Quattro and that thing was so peppy that sometimes i would drive it and even come out shaking with adrenaline. Imagine what this M340 has!!! Thanks again.
Thank u, I’m glad you liked the video and car! You cannot go wrong with either the M550i is such a great car for the money, that V8 is incredible. Either car you pick I’m sure you’ll be happy with! Haha yeah those little Audis are pretty fun too but nothing compared to these inline-6 BMWs for sure!
Fantastic review man, I love the enthusiasm for simple driving pleasure and useful tech. I am driving 2019 430i GC where I feel exactly the same.
Thank u :)
lovely video.. i liked your planned segments, going straight into driving and handling, then the exteriors/interiors which most other video and channels dont and instead the reverse. keep it up
Preciate it! Haha for me driving dynamics is more important so it’s usually always first lol
Ive been really considering selling my 2017 Mustang GT for one of these. I feel like this is a much better daily but I can stay in the same power range
Yeah relatively similar power, I would miss that V8 coyote exhaust noise a lot but for the practicality it makes sense to get an m340.
Sell the bucket 🪣 and get the m340i simple
Fantastic review! I purchased my first BMW 2 months ago, a 2022 M340i. I literally couldn't be happier! I echo everything you mentioned in this review. It truly is the ultimate driving machine! Just got the M-Performance Exhaust installed yesterday too. I do wish I was able to tune the car though, I'm hoping they open that up for the newer models in the future.
People are sending their ECU's to get unlocked so they can tune it but I think in a few years tuners will have it figured out to where you don't have to do it that way
Great to hear, yeah hopefully it can be unlocked for tuning in North America soon!
MPE is truly worth the money. Just passed 1000 km and the exhaust really starts to wake up. The snarls and growls sound amazing
This is my dream daily driver car 😁. I don't care much for the new refreshed one (looks too tame and having one long screen is a no go for me). This one has that aggressive front end and the interior layout is much better imo.
Couldn't agree more!
Flat bottom sport steering is an easy upgrade that can be replaced anytime
Thank u for the comment, this really puts into perspective how well priced this car is for what it offers! Haha yeah and M550i would be sick tho.
Couldnt find a package ? Please stop the cap especially if you can spend more but to me your capping
The B48 and B58 are absolutel legends. Beautiful ride my friend
Yes they are!
Love this video! I got the 23 330I but I’m definitely going to look into the 340, i love my smooth ride but i also love a more faster vehicle! So we’ll see what’s in store in terms of my next vehicle, great review!
Thank u! Haha 330 is also a great car, B48 is quite impressive.
What a fantastic video man, wow I'm blown away but the script and sound too ! I'm picking mine up soon !
Great video man! Your presentation style and knowledge of the car is good and the videography is on point .I’m really looking at getting a M240 xdrive myself .Id love a M340 but it’s just out of my budget .But as long as I have a b58 I’m happy .So the Supra is on the maybe list as well .
Thank u bro, yeah I was stumped on all 3 of those cars.
I always wanted youtubers to give info on upgradation and fuel consumption, which you nailed. Keep up the work man
Thank u :)
Yeah Ive heard the Giulia steering has much more feedback, defiantly wanna get my hands on one to review soon!
The M340i blows the doors off the giulia bro … giulias aren’t as reliable nor as high end on the insides .. giulia looks dated in the interior as well
@@youngcinna6141 it does not blow the doors off a Giulia.
@@AP-cc1uw everything is more high end on the bimmer bro it blows the doors off and handles it self well for a big body mini
@@youngcinna6141 I don’t know what to tell you. I have a Giulia and extensively tested the M340i. I chose the Giulia for very specific reasons. “Bro.”

congrats sounds amazing. wish i could say the same. im praying i can get in one next year if my career takes off!
damn that is really efficient compare it to my sonata n line 2.5 turbo fwd does the same fuel economy as that but you have AWD and way more power ..... Great Review!
Thank u! Yeah they are quite efficient
Your videos are dope. I can’t believe you only have 14k subs.
Haha preciate it, hopefully grows more!
“We don’t make luxury sedans. We don’t make SUVs. We don’t make hybrids. We only make one thing.
The ultimate driving machine.”
That gave me chills, iconic quote. 👏
God I need one.... Subscribing to heated seats is INSANE, but your logic is sound.
I love the B58, have two of them X5 and X4
Never thought I would see an M340i and think “wow those winter tires look sick..”.
haha they're not bad for winters
Hey nice vid. Just wanted to add wrt chassis tuning, the Alfa Giulia is phenomenal too and did hold (or still does hold?) a record on the NR. I’ve owned a Giulia and it’s a wonderful drive. I also always described turning feeling like a pivot from the center of the car. I’ve just recently however purchased a M140i second hand with the B58, and it’s an absolute beast. Very similar emotions to driving the Alfa, but with what feels like limitless power. Unbelievable. The M340i is definitely in my future.
Absolutely right, Giulia is underrated. B58 for the W tho
@@Sleepygarage I actually went with 4 cylinder Giulia over the M340i. Crazy, I know, and I do wish Alfa had an in between engine like the B58 but to me driving dynamics and steering feel trumped the power and sound of the B58. I added an ECU and now the Alfa is a 4.5 second car, and much closer to M340i.
this is a very well made video, felt like a Gran turismo scene for a couple seconds.
Preciate it!
awesome video! very well done.
@@Sleepygarage you're the man! Thanks for the response. Keep up the great work with these vids.

When I say in-depth review, this is exactly what I want!
Well done review with great quality footage. I appreciate this review. It's convincing me to get this car and save money instead of a G80 M3 xdrive
Thank u, haha either way u can’t go wrong! Definitely a G80 if u have the money to splurge tho
I ended up buying a TLX Type S - it was that brand new or a used m340i.
Part of me thinks I should of waited and got an m340i (in a spec I like with the premium excellence package) but I’m enjoying the Type S a lot as well. It’s just not as fast out the box 😅
I don't see alot of those, but there is a goldenish colored one I see drive around my area often, super good looking car and sounds good too.
TLX TYPE S is sexy af tho, and the interior is nice too! I would question it as well for a New Type S vs Used M340... either way u couldn't have gone wrong, still more than fast enough for 99% of driving lol
yeah they're hella nice and youre right don't see them that often
@@nack1721 the tiger eye pearl is pretty dope! Especially when you spec it with the orchid interior. Definitely IMO a better looking car.
You might be about to get a TLX at a better price, but for what you get, the BMW is worth the money now.
i like the audi s4 alot better but the bmw m340 front looks how a bmw should look like 👍
So glad i found this channel, excellent review sir!
Thank you kindly!
Having the same thoughts as well
Haha yeah I’ve had a VW GLI and a Civic Type R before this both FWD four cylinders with LSDs and as much as I tried convincing myself i didn’t need a 6 cylinder or a RWD platformed car i was wrong. I feel like if you’re ready for the jump just switch it up and try a non four cylinder non FWD car. But if u aren’t ready for one the integra type s is a fun choice, prolly one of the best FWD cars out there.
@Sleepy Garage yeah I'm in a Acura RLX sport hybrid so don't really want to give up the awd.... this has more space and sportiness as well as good mpg
@@GREG_R2 yeah once u go AWD it’s really hard to go back to FWD, and yeah in these times with gas prices like it has been having a hybrid is the best
I think Acura will make awd type s…🎉
I really enjoyed this. Thanks for taking the time to create it.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank u!

Such a fantastic sounding 6 cylinder, too.
It sure is!
If you want burbles get the 2020, almost no difference in terms of anything else except slightly better gas mileage in 2021-22
@Sleepy Garage thanks for reply!!! I definitely want the burbles lol, will look for a 2020 then
@@Shikogi1 I think M performance exhaust brings the burbles back, since I test drove a 2023 with MPE and It definitely had them
@@domcarsIt still doesn’t burble and sound as aggressive as the 2020.

Gorgeous car man! I just picked up a 540i and definitely subbed to you!
