Really enjoyed your video, thanks for taking the time to put it together! Got a couple good tips out of it that I didn't know about. I can relate to your experience, just got my first new BMW (330i) a couple of months back after driving a Ford Fusion for the last 13 years. Loved my old car but man, what an amazing difference! I volunteer to drive everywhere now 😀
Congrats brother. I owned a 23 340 for almost a year and a half and I loved almost everything about it. I can afford the M3, but there is absolutely nothing that can make up for that hideous grill. The 340 has the classic BMW look in a sedan that punches far above it's weight. The B58 engine with the ZF8 transmission is something to behold. The interior is nice with the right amount of tech and comfort. Once you get use the infotainment dial, you'll wonder why other cars don't have it. People complain about the big touch screen and lack of buttons, but I have another BMW with iDrive 7 and more buttons but didn't miss them in the 340. My biggest complaint and the main reason I traded it was the overall ride comfort. It's a sporty suspension and you will feel the road. Perhaps some non run flat tires would help with this, but you're not getting a plus Lexus ride from this. Overall I would say the 340 is probably the best bang for your buck in the entire BMW lineup.
I 100% agree with everything you said. I’ve been watching videos on BMWs for years and I remember everyone complained when they had the old infotainment screen bc it was “glued to the dash like an iPad.” People hated it. But now, people love it and hate the LCI screen. The same thing is going to happen when the LCI screen changes to the next set up. I also agree with the balance of sport, comfort, luxury, and tech. I don’t think any car beats it when you factor in price. And the ride is the stiff for sure. The way I describe it is smooth but firm. It’s smooth just coasting along, but when you hit a bump, there’s no give or reverb… the car just bottoms out from underneath you. The adaptive suspension and non flat tires have made a huge difference. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2025 340M X drive on order for build late Jan. My lovely wife has a 328i x drive that delivered in 2016. I love the car for long distances. It has M package and M suspension. Comfort mode is very comfortable. I shopped Porsche, Audi, and BMW. BMW 340M was the best fit for us. Mileage is incredible for the performance.
Congrats on the build! How many miles does your wife’s 328 have? Been reliable? I’ve already racked up nearly 15k miles on the B58 can’t stop driving this thing 😂
@@docshah14 We have 72k on her 328i. It has been Toyota reliable. Oil and Tires w a windshield washer pump at 55k. the car has been a awesome performer. I am very impressed with the BMW quality.
@docshah14 portimao blue with black leather seats, and the carbonfibre trim. Similar to you, I'm looking for a fun daily driver but went a bit more sporty with the trim.
Holy crap, I have one these and had no idea all these features were at my fingertips . I need a young person to school me. Thanks for a great college course !!!❤
Could you please make a video about daily costs to fill the gas, any maintenance you had to do, and if you would consider this car to be a good reliable model? Great video man!
I was planning on making a 15k update video. I have tracked every single cost of ownership because I’m genuinely curious myself. I’ll put that stuff in that video. I’m at 14.5k now so I should have a video in a few weeks.
Oh nice! Mine has the adaptive suspension and I replaced the run flats with the Michelin Primacy A/S and the car is way smoother now. No adaptive suspension + run flats is a rough ride, I totally agree with you.
The M340i is special. It’s has grown on me to the extent that it has become my dream car. It has wildly exceeded my expectations. This was even before I tuned it. Post tune, with a few other modifications and the results have been mind blowing 🤯 satisfaction. I drive it everywhere.
Well, so far on my 2022 M340i RWD I’ve added the Turbo Inlet Pipe and Cold Air Intake from Dinan, FiExhaust Catless Down Pipe, Dinan Catback Exhaust, Dinan Ride Quality Kit with their lowering springs, and their 15mm spacers (random size choice that worked out well on a staggered set of Pirellis: 225/40/19s front, 255/35/19s rear; looks great, no rub), Dinan Strut Bars, MHD Stage 2 Tune, xHP Stage 3 Transmission Tune running on 93 octane. How do I like it?? I’m kinda biased of course because it’s my car, but feedback from fellow car people, my friends, family that have driven it be like: “OMFG!” “Bro this is the best car I’ve ever driven, hands down…” etc. For me, my reaction is an eclectic mix of emotions: happiness, shock, bewilderment, incredulity, joy, I can go on and on… it’s unbelievably fast and it handles really well. It also makes really light work of Dodge Scat Packs 🤣😂 Not to mention, I waited to do these modifications for a year because I was genuinely satisfied with the car stock even despite it electronically limiting me to 130mph 😅 That being said, I do plan to continue this build all the way to the end because I’m still very curious and intrigued by its potential #1 and #2 in respect and in loving memory of 1StockF30: the young man who rekindled my (20+ year old) dreams of doing an in-line 6 cylinder build, and being thoroughly inspired from what I’ve seen him do with the B58; may he rest in peace. Do I care that it’s not an M3 (F80, G80)? Absolutely not. Personally, I happen to thoroughly enjoy the inconspicuousness, ambiguity, and understated appeal of this platform. Only the open flap exhaust sound gives hints of what she may be capable of. The other thing is that on occasion, when I desire the coveted “M” vehicle experience, I just hop on my BrenTuned Stage 2 Tuned BMW M1000RR 🏍️. Performance wise, a G8x whatever cannot even begin to sniff what that bike can do.. soooooo… oH Well 😂🤷🏾♂️
I love the mocha color interior! You could look up and see a car stopped right in front of you, and not have anything to worry about stains on the seat! 😂😎👀
Great video, thanks for showing up around your car. I custom ordered a M3 arriving next year recently. But was super torn between this or the M3. We have 3 cars already so ended up going with the M3 as the fun car, but I would choose this car for a daily, I think I still don’t love the grille on the M3 but that might change when I arrives lol. The M340i is a beast and an amazing car in its own way!
Thanks for stopping by! I’m sure you’ll love it once it becomes yours. I’ve never driven an M3 so I don’t know what it’s like. I will say, the M340 is plenty for me. Honestly, I can’t even let it rip because my area is so congested with speed cameras every 100 feet lol. What color did you get??
@@docshah14 I had a e92 M3 in nardo gray, it felt only appropriate to order it in the same color, silver stone interior. I really love the hands free trunk on the m340, wish it was an option on the M3, the mileage on the M340 is surprisingly good. Are you planning on any mods?
@@ryvensonic999 Sorry just saw this - honestly, I am not really a mods guy, which I know is blasphemy. Does adding Comfort Plus via Bimmercode count as a mod? 😂 Hbu though?
@@docshah14 I honestly like stock cars better than fully modded where it loses the look of the original model. Planning to do a Midpipe plus a piggyback tune like JB4 so I don’t need to send the ECU to get unlocked in Finland. The more I do, the more time I need to take care of the car, like putting in ethanol etc. I honestly just want to fuel up at the pump and have fun.
@ I don’t have BMW money yet but when I do it’s between this and the 540i. The 2023 model kept physical buttons and it just looks more aggressive imo but the 340i is an all around beast
@ Dude I love the 2023 540. I think it’s the best looking BMW in their lineup. The LED taillights are gorgeous. It looks good in every color, and agreed that interior is great.
Very nice “Everyman” review. I felt the same when I test drove one. Ordered a Touring for delivery in December, can’t wait. Even coming from a 2013 M550i, the new Tech is amazing. The car is so nimble compared to the 5 Series and the power plant is more than enough. For backroad and mountain fun I’m looking for an older MX5.
Nice video. I have mine in black with all the same options plus the sunroof. I usually leave the hifi settings untouched albeit without the surround option. The AEB has already saved my bacon. Without doubt the best daily driver on the planet
Great review man! Like the way you speced your m340i. I was torn to get m340 or the 2024 x4 m40. But i took the x4 cause of the good idrive 7, great interior quality and its the last production year for the x4. But definitely the m340 will be my next!!!
I have iDrive 8 and if you long press on any widget, you can add/move them around. But, on iDrive 8.5/9 it’s just one widget (usually with the full screen map behind) that you swipe up and down on - it’s not laid horizontally with multiple widgets.
I’ll keep that in mind! Siri works by long pressing on the voice command button or by saying “Hey Siri” and Siri works exactly like how she does when not connected to the BMW. You have to set up the long press in BMW to register for Siri and “Hey Siri” feature in the iPhone settings.
My i4 M50 is pretty much an EV version of your car (actually more of the 4 series) especially with respect to the interior, driver features and overall suitability as a daily. If I didn't want and EV I definitely would have gone for the M340i. Dollar for dollar, it's BMW's best car and one of the best cars in the market. Cheers!
i4 M50 is sick! And I totally agree - the M340 is one of the most “reasonably” priced luxury sports cars on the market. Feels like you get everything you pay for!
I wondered that too and looked it up lol. When I go to adjust my drive settings for each mode, I can choose how I want my suspension there. It’s just inside the infotainment screen now.
absolutely stunning car, perfect paint color, do you plan to mod it, like lowering, intakes, downpipe. Also you can get bimmercode to add more features like comfort plus mode to soften the adaptive suspension even more, also can code in bowers and wilking sound settings too and more ambient lighting colors.
Thank you so much for the compliments! I don’t plan on any mods. Also, I had NO idea about comfort plus mode, but after looking it up I might do it one day. Have you used it?? What’s your experience been, if so? I did look into the B&W + Ambient Lighting codes and was thinking of doing that. Do you notice any difference in the sound system? Would love to hear your thoughts if you catch this.
@ yes the bowers and Wilkins gives a bit more custom tuning so sounds a little better, but comfort plus mode, is quite the difference, especially without run flat tires, and with lowering springs, super comfy over stock comfort mode
@ Oh very interesting. I might do both of those things. Did the Comfort Plus code interfere with anything else in the car? Which model btw? I’m considering this now 🤔
Lol dude I tracked my boat as it went up the coast, thinking it would hit Baltimore on the way up, except it didn’t, went all the way north, and caught Baltimore on the way down. I was furious 😂 good luck to you
Thanks! It has a mild hybrid system. It’s pretty sweet - if you put it in Eco and let your foot off the gas, it just coasts lol. If you use it right, you can get in the 40s for MPG. Even if you don’t, and just put it in Eco mode and drive conservatively, you’ll get upper 30s easily. Keep in mind this is on the highway.

I don't like the new wheel either, outside of getting the M-sport stitching now. It doesn't seem like there are big differences for 2025, so a 2023/2024 would probably be quite similar for cheaper.

@@PlanB_ Thanks man! I have never driven the M3. The only comparison video I can make is between my M340 and 2003 Infiniti G35, but I highly doubt you wanna see that 😂😂😂
@docshah14 lol no im not cross shopping with that car 🤣 maybe you could test drive an m3 xdrive and make the comparison video? I wonder if all those safety features you mentioned are also in the m3, and how the m3 suspension is in comfort mode compared to m340i. You do a good job talking about things that most car reviewers dont talk about
@@PlanB_ I certainly appreciate the compliment (I really do). Most car reviewers think everyone watching is Formula 1 Driver lol. I don't really do car reviews though, I just love my car 😂. The M3 has to have all those safety features, there's no way it can't. I've heard the suspension is firmer, but still daily-able, but my service advisor disagreed.
I think your bank account is the answer. Here in Finland the only way Ill be able to afford the G80 is if my stocks do really well. From watching all the M3 reviews I always notice it puts a big smile on peoples faces, I want exactly that.
I feel like you should give a little more explaination of why things are very good instead of saying: 'its so good' because comming from a car build in 2003 anything 2014+ is gonna feel way better. great video tho :)
Lol dude I have thought about that a lot because it’s something I noticed while editing. It’s different when you’re talking in front of the camera; sometimes it feels unnatural and you forget to pretend to just “have a conversation.” I’ll definitely make more videos on my car and I’ll keep in mind a frame, such as: “Here’s the feature and here are XYZ reasons it’s great.” Appreciate you watching and the feedback! Thank you!
Thank you! Not at all - I actually had a section for it in the video, but took it out since I didn’t feel like adding the screenshots of all my paperwork lol. The MRSP was $70,870 and I negotiated $7,500 off the car ($5,500 discount + $2,000 rebates). As a result, the final build price was $63,370 and my OTD price was ultimately $68,147.
Is it Xdrive? You were talking about “The Turn” story.. be careful, never take the traction control off and punch it on a turn. You’ll spin out and crash.
I got a question, what are the real differences between m340i and m440i other than the exterior? Planning to buy one and I’m leaning on the m440i but this video got me on fence.
Unfortunately, I have not driven the M440! The glaring difference is one is a sedan and one is a coupe. The same options for my car are available for the M440. Have you test driven both? That’s really the best way to make certain you know which to go with! Thanks for watching!
@docshah14 I previously owned a 335d stage 1 remap and was a total beast. But after selling up for the Giulia QV, I never get car envy anymore when driving. I do think the new M2 is something I would consider as it looks and drives amazing. Keep up the good work on the channel buddy!

@docshah14 portimao with mocha interior (ventilated seats only in black or mocha vernasca)
@ 🔥🔥🔥 great choices
Thanks for watching!
clear, concise, easy to follow and understand. great review thank you

Lol really?? Well I’m glad you found them out now! Thanks for watching!
I drive a g30 530d in india,i found the suspension in m340i to be much stiffer, too bad it doesn't come with adaptive suspension like the 5.
Oh nice! Mine has the adaptive suspension and I replaced the run flats with the Michelin Primacy A/S and the car is way smoother now. No adaptive suspension + run flats is a rough ride, I totally agree with you.
love this video from the pov of someone upgrading from a very old car to the little memes in between. refreshing 👏🏼
Thanks, much appreciated! I’ll let my editor know about the memes 😂
The M340i is special. It’s has grown on me to the extent that it has become my dream car. It has wildly exceeded my expectations. This was even before I tuned it. Post tune, with a few other modifications and the results have been mind blowing 🤯 satisfaction. I drive it everywhere.
That’s awesome, man! What did you do to it?? I drive it everywhere too, btw. Already have 13,000 miles on it lol.
The other thing is that on occasion, when I desire the coveted “M” vehicle experience, I just hop on my BrenTuned Stage 2
Tuned BMW M1000RR 🏍️. Performance wise, a G8x whatever cannot even begin to sniff what that bike can do.. soooooo… oH Well 😂🤷🏾♂️

Thanks, I appreciate that! What color did you get? I don’t think the touring is available in the US, right?
Nice video. I have mine in black with all the same options plus the sunroof. I usually leave the hifi settings untouched albeit without the surround option. The AEB has already saved my bacon. Without doubt the best daily driver on the planet
Oh that’s awesome! Yeah, the surround sound I usually keep off, but it’s fun to turn on in some cases. Thanks for watching!
Great review man! Like the way you speced your m340i. I was torn to get m340 or the 2024 x4 m40. But i took the x4 cause of the good idrive 7, great interior quality and its the last production year for the x4. But definitely the m340 will be my next!!!

Nice that’s a great spec
Great review. M340i is a great car, super balanced.
Thank you so much! Agreed!
How did you get your infotainment screen set up with the different widgets being displayed simultaneously? Is that unique only to Apple CarPlay?
I have iDrive 8 and if you long press on any widget, you can add/move them around. But, on iDrive 8.5/9 it’s just one widget (usually with the full screen map behind) that you swipe up and down on - it’s not laid horizontally with multiple widgets.
Damn!!!!! That car looks perfect!!!! Awesome spec!!!!!
Thanks so much! Agreed! 😎
Love these but I wish they would bring the Touring model back to the states.

Wow, thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
How’s the SIRI function work ? I heard you can ask it to do some unique things. Would be a good video idea man !
Love the car! I personal am in love with the M3 CS
Thanks so much! Oh yeah, that’s an amazing car based on what I’ve seen in reviews (never driven it).
You forgot the auto high beam headlights. It’s like witchcraft 😂
Lol I know I did actually. They’re so good - even the cornering lights.
How do you have the adaptive suspension when you dont have the adaptive button in the center console?

Hi nice review... is this a hybrid car ? I'm really shocked about the mileage per gallon!
Can you list the name of the shop where u got it coated and the ppf
Sure - Detail Solutions in White Marsh, MD. They did a great job and their customer service was equally as great (I’m not affiliated with them in any way).

I am getting a m340i but im confused, visited my dealership and they have the lastest 2025 model when i took the test drive it was okaish , i do not like the new steering wheel and the numbers on the digital screen just dont look good , too digitized , and they have few last stocks of 2023-24 model bmw 340i and that too dravit grey
I don't like the new wheel either, outside of getting the M-sport stitching now. It doesn't seem like there are big differences for 2025, so a 2023/2024 would probably be quite similar for cheaper.

@@PlanB_ I certainly appreciate the compliment (I really do). Most car reviewers think everyone watching is Formula 1 Driver lol. I don't really do car reviews though, I just love my car 😂. @@docshah14thanks for the insight! Whichever one i choose, I'll definitely go with dravit grey. Beautiful color!
I think your bank account is the answer. Here in Finland the only way Ill be able to afford the G80 is if my stocks do really well.
From watching all the M3 reviews I always notice it puts a big smile on peoples faces, I want exactly that.
Audi had a change to detronate M340i with its new S5 and they blow it (heavier, slower and more expensive). M340i is still the king in its class.
Absolutely 💪🏽 it’s a beast
