in the movies defence they did turn the tables on the cartoon in real world gimmick hence bringing michael Jordan to their world, plus the colors were pretty good for the most part.
I always loved the scene where numan says put on your hanes eat your wheaties and well get a big mac. Truly a beautiful masterwork of selling out to your corporate masters. As a 90s kid, i am obligated to have a soft spot for this movie.
Well I really like this movie, I saw it about 2 weeks ago and I still love it but... here is one thing. First of all I'm not american so I never knew about all commercialism and shit. Also in the translation, michael doesn't sound as dull, in the latin american dub he sounds with actual emotion also the looney voices as classic as ever. Another thing is that they never say McDonalds and all these brands, they just say burguers so that's some other good point. The part of the end... the basketball game is sooooooo fraking awesome for me... it's the best!! About the guy who appears in the end... I didn't have any idea of who he was and event today I don't have any idea of who he is, he is just a random guy that appears. About Lola Bunny.... yes... she is a sex symbol... I don't like furry at all but I'm sure there is people who likes it but another thing is.... Bugs looks like a person too most looney toons looks like persons. Antropromporfic animals simple as that and what are the characteristics of females? Eyelashes, their waist and hips and boobs. Thats's simply it. Even disney in their classic movies do that. The cats even though they look like cats have eyelashes and a somewhat "bulky" "chest" so... it was normal for a bunny girl to look like that. I like the movie this is my opinion and my point of view. My counter-review of this review or something like that xD
...and with warner bros' creation of a sexualized anthropomorphic rabbit, came the dawn of a new age for furries everywhere. At this time, Disney has taken advantage of the situation. MIND FUCKS ALL AROUND!
Damian Kortus Believe me... I KNOOOOOOW... the internet is a beautiful place... But seriously, my friends call me a closet furry for appreciating certain forms of art. There is a comic on this topic that really represents the struggle. I'd send you a link, but the website it is on is questionable at best.
theguyinblue2 Kids will love it because it's a "scary" movie that their parents will let them watch (better not be rated r but it's warner bros so yeah), there will be lots of reviews of it too, probably from a lot of the same people doing let's plays of the game. Might be popular among teenagers too but I expect that the tension won't translate well enough into a movie (since dying won't make a person start any of their progress over) for them to be impressed. Especially teenagers that have parents that let them see movies that are rated r. Never been a fan of horror myself so I don't have much to compare to, but I've heard people are enjoying something called the Walking Dead, that seems like it would be hard to top by FNaF, though I've been a bit surprised by FNaF's reception by teenagers in the past so I could be wrong. But yeah, I was a bit surprised by the Critic's bewilderment about Lola. And yeah, it worked for more people than would probably care to admit. Well, kids anyway. But I guess that is his point.
+MEMEMEMEMEMEVMEMEVVEEMVEVMEEMVE MEVMEMVEMVVMVVEEVM Translate pervert into Japanese, put five nights at freddys behind the result, and search that. Have a fun time.
I had one of the most awkward dreams recently that Kath Soucie the voice actress came into this store I was working at and asked me about some item we had in stock. She's super sweet and nice and I'm all nervous and sweaty being around her, and even when I clear my throat and try to act and talk all hard and manly, she giggles and says I'm really cute.
As a little child i loved this movie, and growing up i never really questioned that -or thought about it too much.....until i actually watched it as an adult a couple of years ago! I was initially eager to rewatch it after all these years, but very soon i got genuinely SHOCKED with how unfunny and awful it actually was! :/ I always thought that, even as a child, i had a good taste in movies/cartoons...until Space jam and......wait fot it......Batman&Robin. Oh MY God!!! In my defence i was very-very young when i watched them. Still embarrassing.
Princess Leia As the years went by Space Jam was a guilty pleasure in my teens, so was Batman and Robin, but now that I'm an adult I now legitimately hate both movies. I still enjoy Batman Forever though.
I liked Space Jam as a kid. Yeah as an adult it's obviously a bad movie and a shameless money grab but it was a guilty pleasure of mine as a kid. I never bothered to see the 2021 sequel with Lebron James because I sincerely doubt it has anything to offer me.
I like how the thumbnail shows Sylvester, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Taz, Tweety and Michael Jordan trying to prevent you from throwing a Space Jam DVD box in a trash can. XD
"I love basketball"…that's something he never really expressed afterward. I mean yeah he grew up in Jordan-era Chicago but you and Rob seem more like hockey guys more than any other sport…am I just not paying attention enough?
I have the same feeling. I remember that in a commentary episode (maybe a Siblings rivalry) Doug wasn't able to recall the name of the Air Jordans and Rob burst out saying that was inconceivable because he grew up in Jordan-era Chicago. Because of that and a few other basketball related inaccuracies that Doug made over the years I got to think that basketball hasn't had a big impact on him. And this is somehow a big deal considering that he was right there when one of the greatest sport stories ever happened took place.
To be honest, I did like Space Jam as a kid. But, like most things I liked as a kid, it does have some problems looking back on it. It is still a decent movie, but I do still realize it wasn't what I recalled it being. Also it's probably the main reason I'm a furry so there's that.
@@miguelgomez6891 No,the dick here is you for insulting peopel just because they have a different opinion than yours you freakin nostalgic fan.And i dont know what do you mean with him being a "dick",he brought up very valid points and arguments while your only argument to defend this bad movie is simply offending people. You like space jam?Fine, but dont start blaming other people for having a different opinion than yours. And if you seriously whant to argue that space jam isnt a bad movie then bring up actual facts amd evidence.
He rants about how the film presents Lola Bunny as a "sex symbol", with one complaint in particular addressing her "bunny boobies". He severely underestimated how popular Lola was in (and even outside) the Furry Fandom: when the sequel to Space Jam was announced many years later, one of the most prominent complaints was about how Lola was redesigned to be Tamer, including removing the aforementioned "bunny boobies".
@@EnclosedPoolArea If its a children's movie then why did they feature a sexualized rabbit? And before you pull out Jessica Rabbit, keep in mind it was ok for her to be sexualized as she was a human. Lola in the other hand is a rabbit, making it straight up beastiality.
Even if the story made no sense, and Lola was admittedly a sex symbol (Not the first character to be controversial), I still found Space Jam funny and enjoyable. While I have come to notice the bad acting and disturbing moments, I don't think it was promoting bestiality or ruining childhoods. It was just a big, silly mess that kids watched because... IT'S BUGS FREAKIN' BUNNY. It was also the first live action Looney Toons movie, which was exciting for many at the time, including me. In the end, Space Jam earned its place as both one of the weirdest animated films of all time and, ironically, the highest grossing Basketball film to date.
+Zach Pearce If they can do anything in their universe (stretching limbs, surviving explosions, etc.) then, other than it not being the "Looney Tune way", why didn't they just comedically beat up the aliens and send them packing? I mean, hell, Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, and Marvin the Martian try to kill the other characters on a daily basis. The chance that your entire race will be enslaved by some creepy aliens should elicit some type of angry response. I just think it'd make more sense than, "I challenge you to a game that neither of us have every played forcing us to bring in a human who has less power in our world than we do." Other than that I fucking love this movie, dood!
@@southsidesaiyan8641 That's true, credit where credit's due. But Roger Rabbit wasn't technically a "Looney Tunes" movie, nor was it advertised as one (Not saying you claimed or implied that, just pointing it out). It had characters from that universe in it, but they weren't the focus and are given very little screen-time from what I remember. Space Jam was marketed and sold as the first major theatrical Looney Tunes experience, with Michael Jordan's star power at the time enhancing said marketing value. The plot may revolve first and foremost around Jordan's basketball career, but it's still a Looney Tunes movie even if the film doesn't open on them. That's rather obvious from the get-go. Jordan's story was only ever a vehicle through which to follow their narrative + an excuse to incorporate the basketball iconography for celebrity value. Even in the original Nike crossover commercials from which Space Jam's concept originated, Bugs was more of a draw to most kids on average than Air Jordan (because, again, it's Bugs freakin' Bunny). The difference in quality also contributed to its impact, as no prior Warner Bros. production had put this much effort into animating these characters for the big screen. Roger's animation was good for its time, but this was far and away the best the Tunes had ever looked up to that point. Put it this way: You could have Roger Rabbit without the Tunes. You could cut them out entirely if you wanted, and the core story would still work overall. That's not true for the Space Jam films, as the overwhelming majority of kids and parents who saw them came for the characters more so than Jordan or James (I myself didn't even know who Jordan was back then, but I knew most of the Looney Tunes).
@@philipb7400 true. For people growing with it (like me), it was a fun movie. Great soundtrack. Cheap ass 90s lines, mostly great soundtrack... The new movie just feels like forced nostalgia shoved up in our mouth. But its aimed toward kids i guess so... Im not the target audience for this
The movie wasn't that bad. No its not the best piece of cinema to ever be shown on the big screen. But it really isn't that bad for what it is. Its silly, dopey, harmless fun. Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny just having fun in a silly situation. Its not supposed to be deep or thought provoking. Its something that a family can enjoy. I saw it again recently and I was like "This isn't that terrible. Why does everyone keep saying this movie is bad. Its not the best movie ever or anything but its definitely fun for what it is". I don't know as usual NC your expectations for some movies are just way too high. This is far from as bad as you made it out to be. And by the way.. umm there is a huge market for sexy bunnies out there.. look up the word Furry and look up how much Zootopia made.. just saying. You want to tell experts things maybe they should be teaching you some things.
RogersRoyal The same thing with me. I didn't find it that great or bad but at least it is joyable fun movie and I give it like 5.7 stars from 10 so it is like mixed to good, the problem is that I found some mistakes at the animations and the story was very simple with 4 writers and without these things so he deserves nearly to 7 stars from 10. I am from Asia and when this movie released I was 18 years old and I was travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Italia, and UAE for vacation and I met many people there's and I remember that everyone from these countries tell me that this movie was a great awesome and I didn't find anyone from these countries at years 1997 to 2000 and tell me that the movie was bad. But I think if I met these people from these differences countries again so I am sure that most of them will said that this movie is so bad and the reason why cause the internet become so popular at the 2000s and most of people now follow what the critics said about the movies or if they saw someone in the internet said that this movie bad so they agreed with him, man I really miss the 90s and honestly it is the best era of Cartoons.
Wanna know the fucked up thing about Lola? It’s the fact she was supposedly made to be a young and identifiable female character specifically for female cartoon watchers to enjoy. In fact she her design was basically to best put it an female bugs or an adult babs from Tiny Toons with some slight differences. They didn’t liked how she looked so similar to bugs they kept changing her until she got to who she is in this. Thank god the future loony tunes writers fixed her.
He writes that Space Jam is bad, wait 'til he covers Back In Action, the animated film that did so bad (even after all of WB's past theatrical non-package animated films flopping, except for Space Jam), Warner Bros. waited nearly 11 years before they would put out another animated movie.

10:33, the movie is 1) a kids’ movie and 2) a joke, I’m not insulting by saying that, it’s a comedy and not a plot-driven one and I don’t think it’s fair to judge this movie by any other standard than that. If it’s funny, it’s good. If not it’s bad. Generally speaking, I find it funny (though I will concede Back in Action is better.) It has its flaws but it’s still a good movie

You're 100% right. But I still like this movie lol

"People who want to fuck bunnies isn't a profitable demographic"
So what do you guys think about the Five Nights at Freddy's movie coming out?
theguyinblue2 It's a movie based on a game. If that's not a bad omen in itself, then I don't know what is.
theguyinblue2
Kids will love it because it's a "scary" movie that their parents will let them watch (better not be rated r but it's warner bros so yeah), there will be lots of reviews of it too, probably from a lot of the same people doing let's plays of the game.

NC was right. Sexualizing animals is disgusting and beastiality.
Princess Leia space jam might not have had a decent story but animation wise it was well done, merging real life and animation decently
Princess Leia Idk what you're talking about Space Jam is still amazing.
I liked Space Jam as a kid. Yeah as an adult it's obviously a bad movie and a shameless money grab but it was a guilty pleasure of mine as a kid. I never bothered to see the 2021 sequel with Lebron James because I sincerely doubt it has anything to offer me.
I may be blinded by nostalgia, but Space Jam is awesome.

I freakin love space jam, call it nostalgia but nothing will ever make me dislike space jam.

To be honest, I did like Space Jam as a kid. But, like most things I liked as a kid, it does have some problems looking back on it. It is still a decent movie, but I do still realize it wasn't what I recalled it being. Also it's probably the main reason I'm a furry so there's that.

At this point Doug didn't really know what furries were.

Who framed roger rabbit came out first, and was a live action blended with animation movie with Warner bros and Disney characters.
Jokes on him. This movie got a sequel that's coming out in 3 days.

Haters: negatively judging people for who they are since the dawn of time.

The same thing with me.

They didn’t liked how she looked so similar to bugs they kept changing her until she got to who she is in this.
