I have NEVER seen any description like this before IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I feel like I can jump on a Pilatus 24 and fly transcontinental without ever being on a plane before. My God! You’re amazing! If I can afford a Pilatus in future, I’M GETTING ONE!
Hi David, my background is first military, then airline and lastly, corporate aviation. This was an absolutely OUTSTANDING presentation of the PC24! So clear, informative and well presented. Well done! Could be used by a training center as an introductory video!! How about a walk around video on the PC12 NGX?
Pilatus should be happy with this, very informative from a very professional and knowledge pilot with a good calm and clear voice. Great commercial if I didn't know it was a walkaround.
With out a doubt the most detailed, best description of systems and flying the aircraft I have seen on You Tube...If I had a aircraft and required a pilot this is the type of guy I would look for. Excellent work!
As a salesman of almost 40 years i've known that the true secret of selling is "Transference of Belief" , to think I only came to buy a Wheelbarrow but it looks like Im walking out now with a PC24, Great Presentation,I thoroughly enjoyed the viewing
Though I am not a Pilot myself.. but through this walk around I understood everything he was explaining .. it almost can allow a non pilot person the ability to fly this bird.. anyways its very informative and I have to admit while looking at the cockpit and instrument panel even with its all electronics screen does how remind me of the instrument found in the 1968 Ford Thunderbird.. and I love it .. keep up the great work.. thank you
Masters always make and present things in such a way that they look simple and easy. Great that you have the inspiration, but decade of flying and 1000s of hours of experience is what gets you flying aircraft like this, not just on sunny no wind days but through all the most difficult and unexpected situations. Understanding what things are by name has no correlation to expert use of those systems.
Hey that looks familiar! I work with this plane when they fly into Portland. Always fun to see this plane and Uhauls fleet of Eclipse jets. The biggest thing that shocked me with the PC-24 is the how beefy the gear is. The orange paint on this example is striking in person! David is super nice and was more than happy to show me the flight deck. See you guys next time you’re in at Atlantic PDX!
Pilatus has always built *serious* airplanes. Rugged and specialized for those that require high performance unimproved short field specs. Nothing else can compare with the possible exception of a few turboprops. Pilatus owns this space in the light jet category. I envy you. Have a nice flight!
Amazingly well put together. I've seen many videos of this nature and this was by far the best. It was well shot and well explained. By the way pilatus has done it again...simplicity and quality that are hard to beat.
David Morris this was the best narrative about this jet that I have seen. You are very thoughtful and are a pilot's pilot. Thanks for your input. I have been admiring this plane for awhile and you have made the connection so very real.
Thorough presentation by the knowledgeable presenter. Great aircraft. Having worked for Epoxy floor manufacturers, Tennant and H.B. Fuller, I also enjoyed the flooring. Thank you very much.
Wow. What a flight deck. And dude, you’re teaching us how to fly it. I greatly appreciate the controls advice on app and final. It’s informative-even if I tinker with a 737 and a 172 in my mobile sim, because it teaches relationships. I have reposted this on FB and Twit.
Fantastic presentation! Felt like I was in the hangar. This is my (Current) favorite light 👌 Keep up the great content! Cheers from Merimbula, Australia 👍
Thank You Erik! You did a fantastic job of explaining all the details of the fabulous PC-24. It has to be a joy to fly and the technology is amazing. Well done!
Very well presented and knowledgeable demo, Dave. I think you've sold me on the planes high points. As a "utility" type guy I find the cargo door especially interesting and your understanding of the glass panel is remarkable. Great vid!
Thanks for the video Erik! I can't wait to see them bring one of the new birds in to us. We've been anticipating their delivery for a while because they visit on a semi regular basis with both their Eclipse and PC-12s, so it's just a matter of time (not to mention I've been begging them since it was announced they ordered 2 because that looks like such a cool bird). :)
Beautiful airplane. Fantastic walkaround with a lot of very useful information. Thank you very much! Hopefully the company "Pilatus" will raise to top and stay there, just as the mountain peak Pilatus in Switzerland.
That's probably the most modern cockpit I've ever seen. A cursor? And the fact that it always gives you the right page on the MFD when going through the checklists is so cool. What's next? Voice commands? :D Awesome plane, thanks for the thorough walkaround!
Once again, another fantastic aircraft presentation produced by Erik Johnston ! The pilot provided an excellent insight into operations and performance capabilities. Thanks for this review of the awesome PC-24
This is amazing. I recently traveled on one of these, no recollection of it as was an RFDS medical flight. That cargo door is sized to fit a stretcher inside
You do your homework!!!. Amazing memory and intelligence. The nice people is always not pretentious. Great video. In 47 minutes any moment boring. Thank you
It's important to remember the mission this aircraft was designed for: to get people-and more importantly- *things* from point A to B, especially where point B might be a small, unimproved, airport. This is the business jet equivalent of an F150, not a Mercedes. The reason the lav is in the front is because if it's in the back, that big cargo door becomes rather useless.
I really enjoyed this, really interesting, I like how the toliet is so near to the cockpit so that if any thing was to come up of major importance the captain or co would be right there inches away. Thanks very much, really appreciated. Beautiful craft, joyful to watch this narration.
This is the best walkaround tour I ever saw. I'm not a RL pilot and looking forward to the release of the IRIS SIMULATIONS PC-24 for my virtual airline. I'm not sure if the currently used CJ4 will be any longer in the fleet when the PC-24 will be released... 😀
@@syedazzam7740 Yes I do, but in the end an airplane is an airplane, it's like a tool, the main difference comes from what we do with it, therefore from the type of operation.
Very well done. This gentleman could be an avionics instructor. I'm an old analog gauges guy and even I understood what is going on. That said, it's all well above my twin-prop experience.
Don't sell yourself short. The truth is that the guy flying a high performance piston twin (particularly a pressurized one like a 421) is working harder than any other fixed wing guy. It just gets easier as you move up from there.
Thank You for a very entertaining and educational topic. Looking forward for your channel to have comprehensive videos re Cessna 408 SkyCourier and King Air B260 Walkaround.
Best presentation and walk-around of an aircraft that I have seen. You can tell the experience and comfort this pilot has with his work and this aircraft. I guess im a little miffed by all the 100% glass cockpits given how many times computers and phones crash, but I guess you don't get blue screens in an aircraft right? wouldnt it hurt to have some steam gauges just in case, somewhere, maybe back around by the lavatory closet? love tech but the probabilities for failure increase with complexity...and when he was doing the joystick mouse button demonstration...i was like,,yeah,,but what if the system crashes?..just my .02
I felt the same way the first time I flew all glass cockpit. I just wasn't comfortable with it, but here a few things I've learned since that has changed my mind: 1. There are three completely independent systems with their own pitot/static, power supplies, computers, etc., and revisionary modes allow all critical information from either primary system to be cross displayed on any other display, so the loss of one or two screens, sensors, etc. does not eliminate any info. You just pop it onto the next screen. 2. The mean time between failure for your average steam gauge is about 400 hours, where it is about 2000 hours for single system failure of a glass cockpit. It is hard for those of us that came up on steam gauges to trust the digital stuff, but the reality is current certified all glass systems are many times more redundant and reliable that the steam gauges we learned on.
Great job very detailed walk around just one small correction at 20:16 showing the cabin controls via smartphone was referred to as an app. It is not an app, (in my opinion it's better than an app)Pilatus uses a webpage that can be accessed via any Wi-Fi connected browser. Very knowledgeable and thorough look at the Pilatus PC-24. Well done! If I start saving now in 20+ years I might be able to afford a used one!
The Swiss are simply impeccable. Pilatus underscores that sentiment with their gorgeous and spectacular aircraft. I would recommend the door panels being made soundproof when one is needing to use the restroom, however.
DM, great walk around synopsis on what looks to be one of the best designed light jets made. And probably the most versatile. I have a feeling there are some eng's working overtime at other manufacturers to stay with this one. Thanks for the great info. Bob.
