@@tommypetraglia4688 true but there was icing on the wing at take off because you know it was snowing. And ice also brought down a 737. So yeah all that was a combination for a crash. King airs on the other hand roll over and die when an engine failure happens due to pilot error. So the fact that its safety record is better than a lot of turboprops does make it king in my and plenty of other people's opinions. Just to let you know the pilot didn't think like alot of other crashes. Same thing would happen to a king air.
One very sweet plane. This may be the most handsome turboprop that I have ever seen. Well designed and updated, with attention to detail and functionality. No wonder that this aircraft maintain its value and does well in the aftermarket. Well worth the attention of a Skyships Eng video.

@@tommypetraglia4688 it is sad that it happened but you can't just blame it on the plane, FAA has only certified the pc12 to fly 11 people ( 9 passengers and 2 pilot ) max, but they flew with 12 people and all their camping and hunting gears, they could have been easily pushing it's MTOW and overloaded it. They also picked the worst time to fly, during a winter snow storm in heavy icing condition which is not a best time for any one to fly especially a GA pilot in a heavy airplane.... Love the PC-12 NG - totally amazing interior comfort. Along with landing and take off capability, the ability to use short grass runways makes it great to access much closer to where you want it to be :) I will have to look into the NGX now! Thanks for the video.
I think this was called the u28 when I flew on it. I never saw those lavish interiors. Still, I had good pilots with this outstanding plane in at least one situation where a lesser plane might have left me a smear on the ground, so props to Pilatus.

You hear them speak German but they move their mouths to the English text they originally say. So I don't think it's much of a deal.

Sky, your videos are very informative and non biased. This aircraft is probably the Cadillac of single turbo props and has some terrific amenities and safety features. You do great work and I like your presentations on Russian aircraft as well. If you have not done so already, how about a segment on the Mi-17 utility helicopter? That is a classic workhorse helicopter in my opinion.
@@terryboyer1342 Pratt&Whitney Canada have been in the turboprop business with the PT6 and other designs long enough to know exactly what they are doing with their new designs and tech implementation. They also know they cannot afford to be seen as falling behind (rest assured, some of this tech must have been developed some time ago and was just waiting for the right time to make its appearance on the market). P&W C also know that they won't get an easy pass if something goes wrong with the new PT6 design, in the same way that GE may, since GE does not have the same history and pedigree in the turboprop business and some may be inclined to judge them more leniently than P&W C, if something doesn't perform quite according to the standard expected. Between the two, I'd rather have a PT6 than the new GE. A tried and tested aviation legend from a company that has dominated the sector for decades, I think the PT6 is a better choice, especially in a single engine plane.

You have to assemble the door of the thing, takes forever to do it (If you don't believe me, check out Sky's video on a Pilatus jet). On a airliner you simply open the door and are in or out in a second. And big difference on going do it on a big ass airliner, were almost everybody is distracted with a screen in front of them for entertainment and also have wide head-rests blocking forward view, and a tiny and claustrophobic airplane where is impossible to sneak out to do anything without literally everybody noticing it. Other competitors simply have a conventional toilet in the back. They are simpler to operate and have no assembly required. Pilatus toilet solution is simply ridiculous.

This is what's cool about Sky. The PC-12 is not a plane that I'd normally care much about especially when compared to large airliners and high-tech military aircraft, but Sky makes it interesting!

PC-12 and the Cessna 208 are the two best single-engine turboprops out there, IMO.
Always been a fan of the PC-12 even before many even KNEW the type . . .especially the die hard King Air folks. Even they are smiling about it now.
