Absolutely huge Pilatus fan! Fell in love with the PC-12 and the capability when I was young. Still hands down my favorite plane
Everyone talks about the PC-12 but to me the PC-24 is the most amazing. Its ability to operate on dirt strips and takeoff in 3000 feet to blows away everything else on the market. The TBM is my favorite TP but the PC-24 is my favorite jet. I love the factory tours since I started as a machinist and am now a mechanical engineer. Thank you for making this video!

The BAe 125 (Later Hawker 800/900) could do all those things as well and it was being built 30 years ago. Have you noticed how alike they are...?
@@tango1571 I have not but I will. Thanks.
@@tango1571Member of our club fly this species and years ago he invite me to check them on ground. Nice airplanes.
Oh Steveo,
If I had known you are in Switzerland, I would have made a lot to meet you on a drink. I suffer from some kind of multiple sclerosis and therefore my radius has decreased at lot. I imagined 1000 times sitting on the right seat next to you and flying into a sunset somewhere in Florida. Now that you have visited Pilatus, I want to say not more but thank you for making your flying accessible to me.
Take care, fly safe!
Magnus
PC24 is an amazing aircraft - the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service were a launch customer, ability to land on dirt strips and then get patients back to hospital over long distances at jet speeds is a game changer.
Definitely a versatile jet! 👍🏼
I love the RFDS... they're fantastic. I was invited to their opening day for their new facility at YPAD... unfortunately COVID hit and that was the end of that. A few years back I did some deliveries to their old base at YPAD and someone took me through for a quick look around. Big respect to what they do. :)
Actually PlaneSense was the launch customer for the PC24 with N124AF
It was heavily designed around the needs of the RFDS, there are very few operators who take plans into the conditions the flydocs do especially purposely landing on something that isn’t intended to be a landing strip!
Thank you for this amazing and awe inspiring video! Over decades, I worked with both Swissair and Crossair, and was an independent airline technical representative to Douglas and Boeing. Daily, I watched how aircraft were built on production and delivery lines, and Pilatus was always renown for its supreme quality. Visiting industrial mechanical shops and watchmaking facilities, I have long admired what I term "The Swiss Culture of Quality". It's everywhere! Take a look at the Pilatus facilities; extremely clean, well organized and you can instantly tell the quality and drive of its people. The same is true throughout the country in countless ways, inspired by unique beauty and a deep desire to create only the very best that can be obtained. Bravo gentlemen! Your example continues to inspire me to do better! I only wish we in America could come close to this level of craftsmanship and quality!
A fantastic video, wish it was even longer! Pilatus makes an awesome product.
Great video, as a retired corporate pilot I’ve seen my share of new aircraft builds, never gets old.
I was somewhat shocked when you were in that completed aircraft with what looked like regular shoes on, I’ve only seen booties or bare socks in new aircraft. LOL
One GREAT manufacturing tour of one GREAT aircraft!
Very interesting, all Pilatus are said to be amazing planes, I love them and it's great that this "little" company makes such great airplanes. Swiss clocks quality !
Steveo, spill the beans. You were not there merely as a tourist, were you? Perhaps a bit of factory training going on?
Agreed...I get this funny feeling Steve is in-process on his PC-24 Captaincy
Yeah, I agree. He's finally seen the light. All hail Pilatus!
Well… 949BZ is up for sale, so I think we’ll be seeing some Pilatus vlogs coming soon outside of the next few! I would hope for the 24 because I love jet aircraft, but it’ll more than likely be the 12.
exactly. he is prob saying. bring the pc12 to tbm speeds and technology capabilities
@@TheLeoojedapno. TBM is a sports car. PC12 is an SUV and much larger. Different missions, different planes.
Awesome! Very nice factory and it looks like excellent quality of workmanship. Thanks for taking us along. 🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️🇺🇸👊🏻
Thx Stevo...fine integration of craftsmanship and automation. You can tell employees are happy and proud of their work. Quality aircraft is the result.
That was an awesome behind-the-scenes look. Amazing precision in details.
Fell in love with the PC-12 at AOPA 1998 in Palm Springs, CA.
The next new chapter for Steveo in a PC-12 perhaps, or maybe even a PC-24? Loved the tour, thanks so much!
Pilatus Paint Facilty is here in Broomfield Colorado. (KBJC). Awesome Company for sure
Great aircraft in an amazing home base.
Swiss manufacturing is exemplary.
Boeing should be taking notes!
Wow Steve.
Finally I see you in a Pilatus.
(As I have mentioned in comments of the past)
Since not knowing why You are over there. I will just wish you enjoy yourselves.
Can't wait to see see you flying one of those....
👍🏻👏🏻
The assembly buildings are quite nice laminated wood architecture.
Wow, I didn't realize how much of the pilatus was hand built.
Right On!
Stevie. Good to see you back Flying again and more great and Kool videos.
Well done Steve
Beautiful, thanks for creating the video and showing the beautiful Pilatus factory ;D
The PC-24 cockpit looks AMAZING
Always amazed at any factory tour but it’s really special when it’s for such a beautiful aircraft.
Maybe a TBM tour next?
Just started flying the PC12 NG with PlaneSense. Amazing plane to fly and magnificently crafted
That company has been on my radar to fly for since I started working towards getting my certs.
Look forward to those videos flying the Pilatii
i want to see more of the wood structure hanger in the final assembly building
I do enjoyed it Captain. Thank you.
💫Thank you Steve'O for this great tour!! PC-24 ALL THE WAY, with all due respect for the PC-12NGX,PC21,PC7💫
Thanks for sharing, great tour.
thanks steve...outstanding content. the blond bomb was nice eye candy too!!
Thanks Steve!
State of art tech, Swiss precision engineering... a fascinating view of how a Pilatus is designed and constructed.
Thanks, Stevio.
Pilatus is the best ✈️🥳👍
Thanks for making this video. Fascinating process and such talented people.
What a treat ! Thanks for sharing your adventures Steve !
Fascinating, fantastic tour.
great tour .. thanks
Steveo. You are my number 1 when it`s about planes. I like what you are doing now. We all trust you and please make that work for you.
Amazing tour Steveo. Truly a great experience. It reminded me of Embraer. My father was one of the first employees at Embraer and I was raised going there all the time and hung out with their pilots.
That was awesome!! Thanks Stevo!!
Great video to show young people who might pursue a career in this sector of aviation. 🤩
I've been on 3 aircraft plant tours. Twice to Cirrus in Duluth Minnesota just before their Cirrus Jet went into production. The other time was at Cessna in Wichita Kansas. At Cessna they were certifying the Cessna Citation X and they were working on the JPATS Trainer entry which wasn't selected. At Cessna I saw the Caravan line as well as one of the Citation lines. It's cool seeing how the plane starts with one part and grows to a fully built plane.
In the Twin Cities I've also been to the Ballistic Recovery Systems plant at Fleming Field in South St Paul. They make the Airplane parachute for Cirrus planes, as well as parachutes for supply drops for the US Military.
Been through the Textron assembly areas a couple times here in Wichita, always cool to see just how much work goes into building these aircraft.
Hmm, it is unlikely you went to Pilatus in Switzerland as a tour. REALLY looking forward to the sequel!
That’s was great! Thanks !
Very nice and enjoyable tour to see how these planes are made and how everyone work as one to put all this together in a jaw-dropping natural Swiss setting. Bring back fond memories of my visit. Hint: There are a few PC-12's in India but not a PC-24 yet. It is only matter of time the first launch customer for this awesome jet shows up. Enjoy rest of your stay, Steve.
Such an interesting video, thank you for taking us along 😊
i like the flag display, makes a great impression.

Steveo, what an awesome video. I was in Lucerne about 8 years ago. I saw a few PC 12s in primer flying over the lake. I wondered what the factory was like. Thanks for finally getting me my tour. Great video.

Absolutely amazing 🤩
Beautiful craftsmanship !!! 👍🇺🇸

Nice to see what goes on in the background. Great video SteveO.
Lovely airplane
A tour of Gulfstream would be super fantastic..
Thank you that was verry nice❤
I know the mechanical engineer who designed the Honeywell RDR-7000 weather radar on the front of the PC-24. It’s cool to see it installed on something.
I've been waiting for a Pilatus video! Im anxious to get you take on the PC-12

Hei Steve, thank you for this nice video!
Thanks for confirming that Pilatus is top of the line for manufacturing luxurious aircraft. Now answer the real question we all want to know. TBM 960 or PC 12-NGX ?
Great video 👍🏼 thanks for sharing! ❤from a retired Pilatus employee.
Love this Steve. I toured the Piper factory in Vero Beach.
An excellent video.
