      I don't like the pattern of the C12, it doesn't give a good contrast at least with these light colors. And I don't like the case of the prx, it's too square, they should trim more the edges.

    As someone who sells tissot watches obviously hes gonna choose the prx. I've held both watches in hand and trust me there's literally no competition. The Tissot is better only in the accuracy and power reserve department. Calling it a better watch for the money just for those two reasons is like saying it's better than the royal Oak because it has a longer power reserve. Anyone can tell the difference in quality between these watches at a glance. The twelve is designed by the same designer that made the czapek antartique and it just has a lot more character compared to the PRX

    Verry nice video, but i disagree with you on the movement. I own a PRX and love it, especially the 80 hours of power reserve. But since there is no simple - old fashion - way to regulate and the fact that it uses a plastic escapement (!!) do bother me as a watch enthusiast. For that reason only, i think, that the SW200-1 is just the better movement. Correct me, if i misunderstand something. ✌️

      I agree with you, the Powermatic 80 is impressive in terms of power reserve but it borders on the disposable. And I'm willing to bet that the way to service the watch will be to simply replace the whole movement.

    Great video, as always. I know you guys sell Tissot, and the PRX is AWESOME. But…if I’m being honest, the CW Twelve is significantly superior. Yes, the PRX has a longer power reserve, but a lower beat rate, and the Twelve is SO much sharper and high quality looking. The Tissot is amazing at under $1 ,000, but the CW is a $2,500 watch all day long for $1,200. The CW is superior. I look forward to the next video “as always.” Keep up the good work!

    No idea what you are on about here Harrison. I am not trying to hate on the PRX, but it is SO overhyped, and this video proves it- no way a watch you can get for 30% off at your JC Penny back to school sale should be considered in the same league as the 12. CW plays in a much higher tier than even its price suggests.

  • @cunawarit
    @cunawarit 2 місяці тому +1

    The answer is straightforward: the Twelve is superior overall in terms of finishing and movement quality. However, the comparison is more nuanced than that. Let’s delve into the details.
    With the PRX, you have movement options. For instance, the quartz movement makes the watch only 9.6mm thick, and it wears better than the automatic version. In fact, the quartz PRX is thinner than the CW Twelve. Moreover, the PRX offers a wider variety of styles. You can find chronographs, two-tone watches with gold bezels, gold PDV watches, and even a digital option. It’s like stepping back in time to the 1970s!
    On the other hand, the CW option is more restrained. If you’re not specifically after quartz, you’ll appreciate that the CW movement is genuinely serviceable rather than replaceable, you can't even regulate the PRX's automatic movement! It is really basic despite the huge power reserve. Additionally, the titanium option is a significant advantage-it makes both the watch and bracelet lighter. (And let’s face it, lightness is a good thing; some of us don’t consider heaviness desirable.) When you hold both watches, you’ll notice that the CW Twelve is better finished.
    Ultimately, how they wear matters. I personally own a PRX, but I do admire the CW Twelve a lot!

  • @Ae073001
    @Ae073001 Рік тому +8

    It seems the main deciding factor is the $600 price of the PRX. But if budget were no option, as one who has handled and worn both in the metal, the CW is the much better watch. Fit and finish hands down the CW. For what it is, at $600, the PRX is cool, but it is a $600 watch. I've owned the Zenith Defy classic in the past, and the 12 is not that far off from it. While the PRX, again, cool for $600 looks and feels cheap at times. Especially the generic look of the dial and the flimsy bracelet.
    As far as the movement, it is not a slam dunk for the PRX. Yes, it has 80 hours, but it is also a 3 mhz movement, while the CW is 4 mhz, giving it a smoother sweep and just as good, if not better, accuracy. My 12 keeps very good time, and though I don't time it, I've never seen any issues with it being off by a significant margin. In order to finish the watch in the way CW did, they had to cut cost somewhere, and that was with the SW200. But still, that is a very good workhorse movement used by many one of my fav indies, Oris. If the PRX is more accurate by 1 or 2 seconds... whatever. I would rather have the better finished and better-looking watch that may be a second or 2 slower.
    I had the PRX and now have the CW, and in the metal, apologies for the PRX lovers, but the CW is the big winner to me. If one would hold, feel, and wear them both to compare.... again, if there is no budget bias, CW would be the clear winner.

    Design totally subjective to everybody's tastes, personally would go with the CW and definitely justifiable imo with better bracelet finishing, dial and more intricate dodecagon case design. With the movement, disagree about the PRX movement being superior; 3hz vs 4hz, would prefer a smoother sweep over a slow jittery 3hz frequency every time that feels more luxurious. Don't think power reserve should be the only metric of how good a movement is and isn't. At the end of the day no one has ever complained about a 5711 with 42 hours of reserve right?

    • @OneLordeAnimeClips
      @OneLordeAnimeClips 11 місяців тому

      Agree with most of your points but in terms of actual functionality, I feel like a longer power reserve is more useful to have than a higher frequency movement. A higher frequency movement might provide faster movement recovery if a watch is "shocked" but in this day and age every watch at this price point is hardy enough to survive dings and hits here and there regardless.
      I wouldn't complain about a 5711 having 42 hours, but I'd like it even more if it was 70+.

    Really weird that watches measure beats per hour. Would it kill the industry to say '6 beats per second' or '8 beats per second' like any logical sane person would? In a car, miles per hour makes sense because generally you drive 10 or 50 or 100 or 200 miles and are in the car for half an hour or an hour or two hours so the scale of the measurement matches the scale of the use. But watches you don't stare at for hours at a time. So why do you care it's beating 20,000 times per hour? Just stupid.
