It's my birthday today and I've just opened a bottle of wine - I've a horrible feeling I'll wake up in the morning to be met with an email from Christopher Ward confirming my preorder of a blue 36mm Twelve. It's things like this that ruin my attempt to save for a Speedmaster.

I've got a 7.5 inch wrist and am wearing a 36mm Sealander as I type this. I used to wear a 36mm in the 80's and early 90's and am glad to return to that size...you actually get to see a bit of bracelet/strap when you look at the watch.

Agreed! My wrist is around 7.3in, and I have plenty of 36mm watches - my favorite size. I even wear my old 34mm Tudor pretty often :)

I have yet to buy my first Christopher Ward watch but I am eagerly looking forward to this moment because I absolutely fell in love with the brand's ethics.
The quality of their watches and attention to detail is unanimously praised yet still made affordable for modest and value-conscious enthusiasts. The transparency and respect for the customers they demonstrate are in stark contrast with the greedy and unjustified mark-ups of the luxury world blatantly taking advantage of their clientele.
Thank you Christopher Ward and Mr Mike France for showing everyone that true luxury is in the product and not in the price tag or status.

Does anybody know if CW will be releasing additional colorways of the 36mm, like Basalt Grey, etc?

I applaud CW for publicly announcing that a 36mm version would be released later when they launched the 40mm. Cool to see the 36mm version come out so soon but I'll just casually wait for the black dial to arrive.

For me Christopher Ward are one step away from being a complete watch manufacturer. They make some of the best watches I’ve seen for the money by far .I would love them to complete there manufacturing excellence my marketing an adjustable deployment clasp. They sell some of the best looking leather and rubber straps and a deployment clasp would add that finishing touch

You can't help but respect CW. Excellent leadership and the Twelve and the Bel Canto. Even a bitter Rolex fanboob like me can't ignore.

Great video, very interesting. Thanks for the "no date", it looks perfectly balanced!
Please Christopher Ward, consider doing a rose gold pvd with brown dial, it would look awseome!

the 12 cw is the only sport bracelet integrated that makes sense for three reasons. 1 its affordable, 2 it has short lug to lug and 3 deferent case finishing

CW has indeed mastered case design, there are best regarding fit & finish in the entire market in my opinion

Mint green dial is fantastic. Need one in titanium 36

Bought one of these in Steel 40mm, received it Monday, in 5 days it's almost a minute fast, crap for a watch that cost me over $1900 cad all in.
It's going back. Maybe I'll think about another try when they either have solid dial colors in titanium with the better SW-300 movement, and the micro adjust found on the Twelve X. Otherwise it's a no for me unfortunately , because the design is actually quite nice.

Have CW abandoned that pop out crown they had on the Sealander elite? Not seen it used again

Just to tell you that I had actually bought a Christopher Ward the 12 after seeing all these watch reviewer videos since I like collecting watches and on videos, they actually look good. However the quality is not at all a Swiss made watch like as I had to return it with such a major issue on dial that you would not expect with a normal watch forget about Swiss watch in fact, I had ordered a rubber strap as well, which wasn’t fitting to the Watch even after numerous attempts and to that there customer care actually acknowledged that they have this issue as common complaint. I have proves to show in case anyone is interested.

I'm sorry but I have to have a larger wash due to my wrist size. I very much want the white and gold/brass 12 in 40mm. Alas the only make it in 36 mm. 😢

36mm is the perfect size for smaller men with a healthy body.

I think depends on many parameters,.not just on wrist diameter. My wrist not so thick, but I love 42+ mm watches, for example, I really love the Tag Heuer Solargraph design (40mm) but it is too small for me :-( I can't imagine a 36-38mm diameter watch on my wrist, maybe if I get 70+ :-)

I think 39mm is the size that is having a renaissance for men, down from the 42mm big boys, and 45mm behemoths. That minty 36mm looks fantastic! An ideal fun and classy ladies piece.

    • @kws4e
      @kws4e Рік тому

39mm did have a huge comeback since the last decade aswell, but at a different space in the watch world feel like.
Divers and bigger sports watches often get bought and released in 39mm these days and smaller, more dressy watches in 36mm then they used to do. Both sized exist perfectly happy next to each other, with many people having multible watches of both sizes in their collection

I wear 36 & 34mm Rolex and vintage watches even smaller. I have 3x CW watches at 42mm which get little wrist time as my tastes have changed.
