  • The Orkney Islands off the coast of Scotland are home to a unique blend of folklore from their shared Nordic, Pictish and Celtic heritage.
Many beings from the unique cryptozoology of this archipelago include mermaids, the sea devil, sea trows (trolls), the mother of the sea, selkies and in this case the fin folk, an advanced race of aquatic sorcerers.
This story is about how the fin folk were finally routed from their summer home of Eynhallow by the goodman of Thorodale. Previously part of Hilda-land or the 'Summer Isles' a magic group of invisible islands that float around the Atlantic ocean and the British Isles.
This is the third instalment from 'The Folk Bus' as we travel Britain and Ireland in our big green wagon searching for folklore, myth and legend tied to specific places.
