The sister saying she’s normally good under pressure is a massive understatement. Considering she’s just found her sister dead in a horrific scene, she stays so rational and composed. That’s one remarkably emotionally well regulated human. My heart goes out to her 😢

@@truenokill I wouldn't say 'odd' in a negative sense.. only odd in the fact that she would be in a minority of people who can stay rational under extreme circumstances. Just FYI, I don't use the word 'calm' either just cos we don't SEE what she's feeling or hear it either - someone can come across very composed but feel utter turmoil and chaos internally.

I thought so too. She stayed reasonably calm for the little girl. I handle emergencies well and save my breakdown for later BUT this. My god it wouldn’t seem real. She was great on the phone. I could see a sister acting like this if she found her sister dead but she found a house full of blood, her sister stabbed over 40 times, and the little girl under the blanket. It would be so, so scary and creepy. Then she’d be overjoyed to find her niece but at the same time looking at the most horrifying scene of her life. 😭

i wouldn’t give him too much credit there! i completely agree with your take but i also don’t think he cared about that poor baby enough bc 1) he put her in that situation 2) gave up full custody to only see her once in a while despite the fact like he was financially stable and could surely find her a “new mom” quickly and 3) had multiple affairs which would ruin his marriage and cause his child the trauma of going through a messy divorce. he’s a POS & i find it incredibly hard to believe that he is completely innocent in the murder of his wife. there are way too many poor women (and men, of course, but mostly women) who ended up murdered by evil partners and children who are left to deal with the trauma of the situation, it’s heartbreaking

Former 911 dispatcher here: I did 16 yrs 6, of which as a supervisor wgo did quality control analysis. In our field, we have experience that lay people don't. She was by your definition or what people think is normally calm. She wasn't. She wasn't hysterical, but she wasn't calm. Her brain was "busy". Therefore, her speech was "busy." His language of "calm down" keptnjer from trailing off in speaking.
It's like this. Imagine you are asking someone a series of yes or no questions, but they give you long answers. If you keep letting them give you longer answers, they prolong time. The problem is that you have limited time. So you have to cut that person off because if not, they will go off on a tangent and lose focus. It seems like a jerk move, but we have limited time, and we have to make our callers focus. The thing about that is: to callers; you merely a voice. Officers that they see in person have a presence that gets their attention, i.e., a uniform, gun, and badge. Our presence is the tone of our voice and nothing else.
Could the dispatcher have been nicer? Yes. But nice isn't what our job is. it's gathering info to maximize response and the safety of the officers. So, a stern tone is a permanent fixture. You are judging one edited call, which may have been his 50th that day. I hope thisbadds a bit of insight.

You know what they say ... when you have an affair, you always affair down. Why? Because when you cross the line into tossing your integrity, it's not because you met quality. Quality does not allow a man to have his cake and eat it too. Quality doesn't go after another woman's sloppy seconds. Quality would never be a side piece. Cheaters suck, yes. But so do affair partners. No one can cheat alone. Life is not about vows. Some folks will never marry- so do they get to screw over whomever, whenever? No. If we all lived by "Do unto others, as you want done to you." The world would be a sweeter place.
May Michelle Rest In Peace, indeed ... away from those who betrayed her. Not only her husband. But also the females that don't know what friendship is. These jerks betrayed her little daughter. And they betrayed everyone who loved them. What's the saying?

I read a book about this murder. I did not realise their marriage was on the rocks. Why would he be buying a designer bag, if their marriage was on the rocks? I have found that a lot of murdered people are discovered because the spouse asks them to check on the person!! The murderer wants someone else to find the victim!!!! Just because a person does not have a scratch or mark on their body does not mean anything, since he was her husband, she would have trusted him, and he could easily bash her over the head from behind, rendering her imobile or unconscious. I remember hearing of this case before just from recalling him asking his sister-in-law to go to the house and her finding what she found, but I couldn't remember any other details of it, so just finished the video. The fact that someone cleaned up the child and had wanted his sister-in-law go to the house -- hence not leaving his little girl alone for too long -- leads me to believe that he was behind this, either directly or indirectly; but all of that nonsense with the video cam at the hotel just doubles my suspicions... not even to mention him having affairs and giving away custody of his own daughter. He obviously did not want another kid. I think he is where he needs to be. Just so awful for her sister having had found her like that and her daughter having to grow up without her mom, not to mention the loss of the unborn child, as well as the entire rest of her family's heartbreak... parents, etc.

I think your opening is one of the best there is. That's so cool how you make the pipe and the table and the chair turn into your logo. Great job!

7:14 this guys sound like he didn’t make it out of 6th grade. Asking redundant questions. Literally asking questions she just answered, for no reason. This is why I can’t live in the south. Too many people like this tucked away

As someone who has lived in White Plains, New York and in Raleigh, North Carolina, I can attest to the fact that slowness is universal. You're telling me you've never met a slow person where you live?? 😂😂 Stop it.

That dispatcher....grrrrrr! "Now, listen to me, ma 'am." And how dead does she have to be before he stops pushing her sister to initiate CPR?

I know murderers likely believe they will never be caught. Still, all those thinking of committing such a horrible act should know that through their actions they are taking two lives - the victim and their own. He simply could have walked away from his marriage. Instead, he will spend the rest of his life in jail.

Her daughter… omg. That’s incredibly heartbreaking. Ya really gotta feel for that kid, these problems may not surface till she’s old enough to know what happened and I hope it doesn’t ruin her teenage or early adult years. Man oh man. 😢

Interesting case and definitely thought provoking. I don't think there was enough there to convict. There was certainly too much reasonable doubt for my guilty verdict.

No doubt, he did it. There’s too much emphasis on confession in today’s woke society.
the cops always say there’s no such thing as coincidence. The baby has bloody footprints everywhere but no blood on her feet? So a ruthless killer will clean the child up??? He suddenly remembered their anniversary after the fact but tells the sister-in-law to go get the paperwork? Gee, use your head for something other than a hat rack

Listening to this man talk on the stand… how did this man talk these women Into having affairs with him. This poor woman. Not only did he treat her like garbage while she was alive, he murdered her in front of her child. I can’t imagine the fear and the feelings running through her body. And that poor child. To know that happened to mother, your father did it, you were present for it and you can hear the 911 calls and hear your little voice has got to be hell. But she tried to name her daddy. Her aunt kept saying that she kept saying her daddy’s name. I pray for all who knew this family and I pray for the daughter and sister who found her.

Doesn’t seem it’s proper that the judge who tried the civil trial was allowed to be the judge the 2nd criminal trial

The case sounded like Jason had an accomplice in the murder. His neighbor saw two people in the vehicle. Since he seemed to be someone that had no problem with having affairs, it seems possible that he had help. Also removing the rings and changing his daughter after the murder. Hitting someone that many times seems personal and seriously angry. Knowing his wife was pregnant he could have got a divorce. Her being pregnant again seemed to infuriate him. It's similar to the case in Colorado where the husband killed his pregnant wife and children. No sympathy for Jason. He had no problem accepting the verdict of the civil case.

Think your the problem with juries now a days, your coming up with your own clues and theories like your playing detective with no solid evidence backing it. I would’ve definitely said not guilty because there is such a lack of evidence that actually links directly to him to murder his wife and was able to leave nothing at all

Heinous crime against both the mother and daughter to leave her unsupervised and on her own with her slain mother was unforgivable that’s why the creep needed his sister in law to go to the house he knew what was waiting for her.

No. The sister was close and knew the toddler would be alright. I think the sister might've done it.
Way too calm . No tears...just barely panicked. I bet the toddler was with her the entire time or there would've been tiny bloody footprints all throughout the home and to the kitchen to get food/drink.

Soon as I heard about the results of the internet search on his computer at home, such as 'head trauma'. You know it's him. Who else would search these terms? For what? She was beaten around the head dozens of times. He left his child, alone with her dead mother. How cruel can a person get?
