- This is a "desert island" pedal for me. The Barber LTD SR, v2 & unLimiTeD together in one compact, hand built pedal - the Gain Changer. This is a very comprehensive (um...long) overview of what this great drive box can do.

Bought one recently because of this video. I couldn't be more pleased.
right on. glad to hear
Excellent demonstration - you hit all the operating points we would want to see, explained everything very clearly and had useful tones that showed the on/off differences. I have a wide-format Burn Unit that I love and am considering picking one of these GCs up. Thank you Bryan!
One of the Best Pedals out there. Very UnderRated. Smooth, Low-Med Gain Transparent Overdrive. Love my Gain Changer SR. Dave Barber is a nice-guy, to do business-with. Great information & Demo Bryan.
Agreed. Very professional. Quick to ship. Ears for amazing tone. Just got one shipped out this week. Looking forward to addition to my board. Looking to get that Tone Press next.
Great review thanks! Very tempted to purchase one based on your demo video.
Loved the Jason Falkner t-shirt
Often the hands are the sound. Without detracting from the quality of the pedal, which is simply excellent, the one that sounds marbelous is you.
Fantastic review of a pedal from someone who really knows it. I own one of these and I've learnt a few things. Thank you for your time and effort and thanks for sharing.
Just got this pedal. Unbelievable- I run this thing at 15 Volts [via Xotic voltage doubler], and have been through a multitude of low gain to medium pedals, this is the keeper. Can’t understand how Barber pedals are not as popular as they deserve to be. Bought direct from Barber, the customer service could not be more personal.
Great demo, I love the Barber pedals and use them exclusively; the SR is the one I don't have. Going to pick one of these up asap.
Forgetting the pedal for a second, this is just some of the best tone I’ve heard from a demo in a while. And the GC just kind of extended that tone into dirt/gain territory. Very well done!
Killer tone, love it.
Excelent review!!!
Nice demo, sounds good...
Great demo, as with the e on the Tone Press! One of the reasons I got both on my board now, and apart from some delay and reverb I really don’t wish for anything else!
Nice demo! Subscribed.
Fantastic demo. Very informative!
And excellent tones and playing.
My favorite setting: 3-way toggle in the center, 2-way toggle to the left. Great compression and warm tone!
cheers Craig. thanks
Great demo. Very informative. I just ordered one.
I was looking for a Lightspeed but the reviews bring me to the GCSR now I don’t know if I need both or GCSR will be more than enough
Same here but i think ive finally decided to go with the GCSR. More EQ and gain options.
@@GabeHelma I catched a good deal for the Lightspeed and I buy it anyway the GCSR is on my radar
I just snagged one off Reverb for a C-note. Can't wait to throw it onto one of my boards. :)
How a demo should be done. Cheers
Hi I've used one of these for a few years now. Wondering if any of the specifications have changed since original production? I do wish there was some kind of small labelling for the 3-way toggle switch, because I never remember what is supposed to be what.
There have been no changes to the Gain Changer circuit since it was introduced. There is a short run of regular size (larger) GCX available for a short time that has some circuit tweaks and new features. GCX stands for Gain Changer Expanded.
Great video man! The pedal sounds insane through that Deluxe Reverb! Do you have the bright cap removed or is it still “stock”?
stock
Got it! I have pretty much the same rig as you. Just got a Gain Changer SR a week ago. It is awesome indeed! I am pairing it with a Mad Professor Supreme for an array of totally awesome tones! All thanks to this very comprehensive and good video.
Nice! Were you using 18v?😊
Would love a GC comparison with the new wampler pantheon
How is it with P90's?
ideal
Do you give lessons?
Your Momma I do. www.bryanewald.com/
Maybe I just missed it but what amp are you plugged into? Anybody?
a late 60's deluxe reverb driving a 1x12 extension cab in an iso booth. (with a cream back speaker)
Cheers! Tryin to understand all the components of the great tone you have. Considering also Jetter GS 124 & JHS Morning Glory but this review's a game changer for me.
He mentions his amp setup around the 4:40 mark.
12 mins in and he's played about 5 chords.
at about 90 seconds there's a list of times if you wish to fast forward to playing examples.
