  • Terrific pedal for getting great low-gain saturation from a clean amp, or getting a gainy amp into lead sounds.
    Measuring only 2.3” wide, the NEW Barber Gain-Changer harnesses a vast spectrum of EQ and gain. Flick the toggle one way and you have sweet very low-gain overdrive, flick it the other way and you get wildly charged harmonic content of our much praised unLimiTeD distortion. Pop over to the other toggle-switch and you can volley between the flat sweet-EQ of the LTD SR , the vintage snarling-fat-EQ of our classic LTD v2 or a new voice that combines flat EQ with a little added fatness. Combine all these different options together and you have a super-versatile harmonic beast. Our goal was to shrink the size of our pedals and retain all the ultra-high quality electronics and build quality that we are world famous for. In the end, it’s almost impossible to miss the target if you are shopping for a new overdrive for your rig, “it’s like shooting fish in a barrel Jethro.”
    The Gain-Changer has real honest solder lugs for jacks, True-bypass footswitch, toggles and pots. There are no worries about PCB mounted thru-panel parts that can’t be serviced on the road, or that lead to high cost repairs. Nothing but the best tried and true hand-built methods adorn the interior of the Barber Electronics Gain-Changer. The Gain-Changer has a generous 2 1/2” of clearance between the front edge of the footswitch and the back edge of the knobs, no more worries about changing your settings with each click of your footswitch. Buy a hand-built Barber Gain-Changer, and enter a world of immense overdrive possibilities.

    It's reassuring to see that my career choice away from music was the right decision, as certain as my need for a Barber GC now !

    Love your playing Linda. I've watched all your videos and I have to say this Barber pedal is your best tone. I have many pedals but nothing is better than tube amp overdrive and distortion. That said, I have a smaller pedalboard for back-line with the Barber 1/2 gainer at low & mid gain crunch (it's a 2 channel LTD) and the Direct Drive V3 for a more modern crunch. I really think you'd love the Direct Drive in addition to the Gain Changer. My favorite cover band amps for tube distortion are the Mesa Boogie 100 watt triple crown and the Australian made Sherlock Amps. On another note, your "outside" licks are sweet!!!

      LPMojoGL well the LP is Custom Shop, early 80s. The Blue Strat are Hot Stacks in the neck and middle, JB in the bridge. The black Strat has that’s Slash/Alnico in the bridge, and the brown Strat are Chris Campbell customs. Thank you for watching:)

    Considering one of these to sit before my vintage sd1, using an AC15 with alnico blues 🤔. So difficult to find the right kind of distortion/drive. This seems a pretty versatile bit of kit.

    • @lindataylormusic
      @lindataylormusic  3 роки тому

      I think that's a great idea, but there's enough here you wouldn't need to use the SD1 after it, you could just use it as a different color. Barber killed it with this pedal, it's a gem.

    I know this pedal wasn’t designed for this but, can it do Dumble style tones? I know the BUSS is supposed to but there’s only like one demo of it.

    • @lindataylormusic
      @lindataylormusic  5 років тому +1

      I guess that depends on your definition of 'Dumble' tones. I've tried to show the variety of great sounds available from this pedal throughout this demo.

    • @jedielrodriguez4835
      @jedielrodriguez4835 5 років тому

      Linda Taylor the pedal sounds great throughout the whole demo. I prefer it over the standard version. This one sounds even more like amp. By Dumble style tone I mean like a Robben Ford or Larry Carlton hot lead guitar sound. If it could get on the ballpark of that specific focus midrange sound.

    • @lindataylormusic
      @lindataylormusic  5 років тому

      The 3 way EQ setting has a pushed mid focus. That's demo'd at 5:34, 7:22, etc. To my ears, the Imperial Strut sound and the Room 335 sound is more about the SR setting with flat eq and humbuckers. Short of that, you could watch my video on the Vertex Steel String where I play "Imperial Strut" with a 335.
