    Recently purchased the new Gain Changer SR, and I am absolutely blown-away. It can cover: clean boost & jazz, blues-like mild crunch to classic rock. It's the most versatile OD pedal that I have ever used. Nice playing & demo. Sweet tone. I also move my Volume knob away from my strumming hand & use Lollar pickups.

      How does it compare to the Nobels? Seems pretty similar but maybe a little more versatile with the switches. Gain Changer vs Nordland ODR would be a nice comparison to hear.

    I'd have to say everything I've ever heard you say about pedals sounds right to me. I like a little overdrive and a clean boost for solos. I used to like heavy distortion because it hid mistakes, but now I want to hear everything my hands are doing so I can correct said mistakes. lol. Always fun to watch you play!

    Great tones... and tasty playing. Makes me want to practice my chops. I will need to get me one GC, although so many acclaimed overdrives to push an amp and shape tone, Klones, Timmys, it is hard to choose, but I guess I gotta get one of each all anyway. What is your bridge humbucker? that sounds great too.

    Barber LTD SR is one of the best ods ever made. For me...THE best. I had and sold two of them which makes me dumb x2. The Gain Changer is great but the GCX is able to nail the SR sounds perfectly. That one stays, I've learned my lesson. The DD Super Sport is another beautiful pedal they don't make any more.

    • @BrettPapa

    Hi there, I wanted to ask, why you preferred the Lollar low wind Imperial oner the Standard, which is the one people most often use on strats? And are those singles Lollar Specials? You have a special wiring?

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  5 років тому +3

      Yes they are Lollar specials in the single coils. I just prefer the sound of low output pickups. Super clear and open sounding!

    • @emreemre369
      @emreemre369 5 років тому

      Sorry to busy you but... I have the Lollar Specials in my Strat too with a humbucker in the bridge, I made it work with a single 500k tone and a 500k volume pot. As I see two knobs on your guitar, I am suspecting you are using a similar configuration? Just trying to find up if the low wind will be the better bet for my particular set up. I too expect it will sound sweeter and clearer than the Standard wind in general.
