When they tell the story of the Punic Wars, people are always amazed how the Romans did so badly. But they fail to mention how Hannibal crossed the Alps with his army of Widow Mines and the Romans just blinked straight into them.
I love how Hanibal completely locks the toss in his base but doesn't take a single additional base himself either. Despite having the entire map to himself. Guess he wanted to keep things fair?

Managing your observers individually and not with your main army. *spotting* your own observers and clicking on them when explosions are happening on your screen. Noticing where enemy mines burrow while not looking *constantly* on them (you have to manage your own base sometimes). This is harder than you think! It is above gold-level play. Mines are IMBA at gold-level.
I think he doesn’t recognize what options they can actually play at this level. The mine (at this level) is actually kinda busted. The options he listed for clearing the mines all involved controlling multiple units, correct spacing, and tech decisions. Like I am sure that 3 second recall was the Protoss doing it as fast as he could. Maybe he doesn’t know how to/can’t use control groups well. There is a gap in the required difficulty to use vs the difficulty to clear the mines. So when player’s skills exist within that gap, a unit can be unbalanced for that skill level. It’s doesn’t mean that it’s unbalanced overall or unbalanced if the player responds correctly. But it is unbalanced at this specific skill range. So yes the player sucks, but he seemed much better than his opponent in every aspect of the game, except dealing with mines. I believe he definitely had the skill to use them at least as well as his opponent.
