This was one of the most frustrating games I've ever seen. They both looked at every choice, every fork in the road, and every single time choose the path with a visible sharknado.
That sad moment where even Diamond players don't understand the build orders require you to not just build all of the same stuff, but build it at the same time as the build order. It's surprising how many players do timing-attack builds, but completely miss the timing and then complain that the build is weak. An attack at 5 minutes and an attack at 8 minutes are completely different.
Lol love Harstem calls his build order ugly or not perfect at the start just in case he did have a good execution but still lost. But once he sees the awful execution, he starts calling it a very good build order xD
Observer speed is still an upgrade right? You would think with all the time and scouting fractal did with one obsever. Speed would have been a priority. The game would have been over.
I would love to see Harstem swap places with these players half way through the game and have the enemy super confused about the sudden change in difficulty. (I know it's not allowed) but would be funny
I too do the same thing every time I open glaives. End up floating a ton plus not having good adept control(how bad? Answer: absolutely unimaginable horror) Then I die to 20 roaches with 3 immortals out and a battery at my 3rd. Hoe? No clue how I suck so bad

Very viable. I stopped playing it against Zerg because it was way too boring to either get blind countered (and I am too bad to scout that) or just win. I am low diamond, works perfectly, if you execute it halfway competently. I usually had 2 adepts less or hit 20 seconds later, still worked.
I really like how the Zerg focuses the nexi instead of tech despite there being no more minerals to mine :D as a zerg main i kinde understand this decission i think: the main buildings are extremely valuable to the zerg because its the production backbone. losing them hurts very very much. this doesn't translate to protoss though. if the base is mined out all the nexus can do is probing and boosting, which is important ofc but not nearly as important as production, upgrades or tech.
The Nexus also provides recall and overloading batteries, so it can act as a stronghold. Then with less Nexi it will be harder for the Protoss to rebuild the worker count. Stargates do not matter if you have 40 Corrupters.
@@phelanwolf6747 recall and batteries do not matter either if you have zero anti air and are attacked by 40 Corruptors but guess what produces anti air. Right. Warpgates and stargates.
I feel like that's more true if you haven't also just killed several of the Protoss expansion Nexi, and most of his probes. At one point the Protoss player here was down to zero active Nexi, and at that point I think I'd miss the one from my main pretty badly.
@@Kerostasis in this case true but look at it like this: in general the main nexus is the farthest away from your next expansion. So probes produced there have the longest way. Longer way=less mining time=less resources compared to probes produced in your natural or third. 90% of protoss production/tech (if not cheesing) is in the main or natural as wall and you can be sure if I get an army into those positions I'll cripple your production and hurt you mid to long term. What do resources matter if you can't spend them/have to waste them to rebuild to get your production capacities back? You'll have less production + maybe tech or upgrades denied in the next minutes. Being able to warp in 6 or just 2 stalkers at a time is a huge difference. I'd go for a cybernetics, shrine, beacon or directly production almost anytime over a mined out nexus
Having a hotkey for dts puts you in diamond already. But you likely have worse worker production and resource spending than this, gold looks even worse, you just don't realize it because you likely don't watch your own replays.

I think it's a protoss who gets wins via cheesey/aggressive build orders rather than solid play. The ladder has many of them. Got high master cannon rushers who are nowhere near that level when not doing their 1-2 cheese build orders. However saying that you are not much better if you are gold. Your standard macro play may be about on his level though.

(And I’m worse at disruptor micro than anything else)
Oh man... he could've moved out minutes earlier and taken out so much of LRTs base and Drones. Made sure he couldn't get that Greater Spire up but he moves out when it's already on its way and he's killed a bunch of Corrupted freeing up supply for more ground units and Brood Lords. Taking out a bunch of Overlords while letting the Corrupters live would also have been an awesome move.
I think "swap in a better player to salvage a bad position" sounds fun, but probably wouldn't be fun in practice. Harstem is just so much better than a random guy that the random guy either has to immediately overrun Harstem and then the game just ends right away. Or if the average guy can't end the game right away, then Harstem is just going to win 100%.

No upgrades, should keep to the high damage units like Immortals and Archons, not build those Carriers if he's going to stay at 0 upgrades that is going to tickle those fully upgraded enemy units.

@@DamianSzajnowski I really wish they just ditched the glaive and buff up the Zealot charge impact back. They learned early on to remove upgrades from the reaper as they were unnecessary. Wish they did the same or let the glaive jack up the DPS to be like three marines worth or something.

It isn't just that adepts fall off, they were never on. Basically outside of all-ins all they do is contribute to protoss losses.

THat 9:00 minute... 1600 minerals annoys the hell out of me... population 75... A warp in of 16 zealots would be game.... Clearly he doesn't have neough gateways, so he should ad 3-4 more or more tech buildings expand... one goal in any game is ot challenge yourself ot get ot 200 population as fast as possible so you can then save money, other wise saving makes little sense... Unless your zerg, floating 1000 minerals doing a tech switch is okay, because you probably have hte larva to instant spend it just waiting on the tech line ot be opened.
I think Harstem is underestimating how powerful SG units are at 3k3. I'm sure Fractal has won so many games with mass carriers (no offense to him, it is viable at this level) BUT the MOST important thing is how players at this mmr react to carriers out of a toss, whether they play T or Z : we are completely terrified of it, we almost know guarantee that because of lack of mechanics, we'll get a moved in the near future. That"s so frustrating that most of us completely overreact like our Z friend. There is also the fact that most protoss players also believe mass carriers is always the way, thus building 25 of them, even if there is a huge amount of corruptors
Here is NEW challange for you Cpt.! Kill opponent with his own units. Mean Play zerg using own race to grow and deffend but steal worker by infestor and defeat opponent using his race!.

There are so many times throughout this game where the protoss could have won even with fucking the build up. Crazy

what I see happen around 3k-3.1k MMR is toss goes carriers, Z masses corruptors and kills them, then pukes on all the outside bases
