As a programmer myself, I wanted to say that it is a big burden to keep up a comunities anticipation and "hype". The fact that burn out is very common among developers, its most likely that, well to put it francly, the developers of hytale, at some point, probably at the peak of its hype, worked themselves out, to an extent of no return. Programming in it of itself is a huge thing to carry, not only that but also a gigantic community of players along with it, and the "self established" work hours, an almost endless amount of stress, is probably also the reason why they stopped posting as much. Cudos to them for even continuing to develop the game entirely. Personaly, I have had a community beforehand, even tho a fraction of that of hytale, and I have found the same issue tho I wish hytale finds a better end to its saga.

He has a point.
i think once they realized they would be incapable of releasing the game in a reasonable amount of time without it being a disappointment, they figured the best strategy is to basically go quiet, let people kinda forget about it, meanwhile working super hard behind the scenes, and then once they get to the point where the game is extremely good and actually can (at least somewhat) live up to the hype, they can release something like an open beta announcement trailer or something, which will obviously catch the internet's attention, perhaps not quite to the level of the first announcement trailer, but probably still extremely good as people start to see it and are like "omg i forgot about this game! its finally coming out, thats sick!" and the word will spread and stuff, especially if the trailer is good and is able to demonstrate that they actually have a really good game to release and a definitive schedule for that release/beta or whatever they do. ultimately, i dont think there is any good reason for them to try to rush to get anything out right now, because the game has completely faded into irrelevancy for the time being, so waiting any longer is not really gonna make that significantly worse than it already is (unless they wait an absurd amount of time like 10 years or something obviously), so their best course of action at this point is probably to just hope that the strategy i hypothesized about here actually works out for them.
tldr i think hypixel studios' silence with hytale is tactical and theyll probably be able to revive a good amount of hype once theyre actually ready
Agreed, although I really hope they do an open beta before release (or at least open for applications) because 2024+ feels so out of reach
+1 bro ;) creative minds
That may actually work, demonstrated by bendy and the dark revival, a game franchise that went into irrelevancy, but now cameback from the dead
But then the Internet didn't forget lol
Whatever it is I hope they released it on last gen consoles before they die out
For my case, yes I forgot about the game, but the hype isn't even close to be gone. The moment someone shows me a screen or gameplay of it, I become as hyped as before. I really can't wait for it
same i want to play it so hard bruh😭
Same 😭😭
Yeah, it's good to forget sometimes, so it doesn't get stuck in your mind
Modded Minecraft is a good alternative for the time being.
The game is gonna be a failure lmfao, maybe if they released it 4 years ago in a beta state it would have been acceptable
The duality of the gaming community: “We’re fine with waiting for an actually playable polished game that’ll meet and even succeed our expectations”

I do remember them saying somewhere they were rebuilding the engine so the game could be cross platform from day one of release. I guess that's good for the long term but having even one platform available might help the game gain and maintain hype.
It's not gonna be more cross platform by using C++ instead of java
@@atiedebee1020 indeed not, all kinds of system-specific crap that has gotten in the way of every attempt at cross-platform ever. C++ is no different.
@@ETXAlienRobot201 Minecraft Bedrock is mostly C++ And it is cross platform basically on all consoles including mobile phones
@@CWAent your point is? i guarantee the stuff of nightmares is in that source code to make it remotely possible for cross-platform to work. C++ , by itself, is not cross-platform. different systems implement different APIs. graphics, as an example. this is critically important to running an app, if not compiling it.
@@atiedebee1020 You forget that Java isn't supported by any modern console as of today. So it would've just divided the community between Hytale Java edition on PC and a cross platform version running on it's own engine in C++ similar to Bedrock edition.
C++ also offers massive performance boosts and more modding capability. It even makes an official RTX shader possible, as it's simply impossible on Minecraft Java edition.
You guys don't know how bad Java truly is, do you?
Hytale progress is pretty well documented.
1) Game almost ready
2) Riot acquisiom
2) Game reworked to work with mobile
3) Engine changed to make mobile compatibility better
4) Games 'adventure' mode reworked from the zone idea to more Minecraft like style with procgen but with premade assets (story pieces)
5) Finishing the latest vision
That's pretty much it.
I'm just gonna say this before you guys start saying "they shouldn't have announced the game so early!":
They didn't announce it early, the game _was_ originally intended to release in 2020 (maybe even 2019) but because of the overwhelming response from the community they weren't satisfied with what the game was. high expectations proceeded by a flood of new recruits, the acquisition from riot and consequently a much bigger budget than they could have asked for, they decided to essentially rebuild the game from the ground up (an exaggeration of course, but they started remaking many ingame systems and eventually the engine itself as stated in the video). First impressions are important, and Hypixel wants Hytale to be the best it possibly can before people get their hands on it.
And if you say "They should've released it earlier and updated it like Minecraft!" as a response, that's not how it works. Once a games released its very difficult to go through all these massive time-consuming changes. Hypixel wants to be able to consistently update Hytale and ensure it has consistent support for all parts of the community, a beta is simply too risky.
Yeah, the initial release was slated for 2019.
Though I will say, if "polishing" the game takes an extra 4-5 years, it was probably not wise to plan on its release that early anyways.
And nah, I don't think they should've released it early and updated like Minecraft, I mentioned that in the video
@@mcbyt only reason i made this comment is because i saw multiple others saying these exact things, it baffles me how some either dont watch videos all the way through or put more than a few minutes of thought into something.
@@dovahfruit9503 It just feels like their scope grew a bit too big and they're going to want everything to be "perfect" (nothing wrong with that, but rebuilding the entire game from scratch and planning to release on console and PC at the same time? Yikes). Most games would be nearing end of development/open beta periods by this point, I'm a bit scared its going to be stuck in development hell.
If I understand the full situation correctly, Riot had also suddenly pulled out of the deal because of who owns them, so their budget was cut and that probably hit incredibly hard on their plans.
Personally I would be happy with a semi-clunky game as long as it’s updated as long as it runs pretty smooth I’m not very picky since this game looks so good
When you said "I have never seen a game so distant from it's community" you probably forgot about hollow knight silksong which was hugely anticipated xD they went essentially radio silent for 3 years. But alas they did finally release a new trailer a couple months ago and it has a release window now.
the release window really hasn't changed, and even so it's more of a "release atmosphere". before it was 2023 to eternity, now its 2024 to eternity lol
Yeah, I haven't been following Hollow Knight so I didn't know about that but you definitely seem right, they kind of left everyone hanging it looks like

Valve stops on number 2 with all their games then just makes all the games have different name but 3 because they want to make sure that the game is an absolute masterpiece and it includes the most enjoyed/loved parts of their previous games
Valve might be slow with their games and stuff but when they put their minds to something and have it planned out then the games are always as good if not even better than their previous games
I think the biggest thing about Hypixel is that they are own by Riot. If there is a thing about them that I know is that they are a kinda of a secretive company but in the end they deliver great games(exception makes the balancing team) and I think that mentality was passed to Hytale as well. I'm still hyped about it, still can't wait to play with my friends and I am certain that will be a polished and a great game in the end. Will Hytale be a "Minecraft killer" as some people say? No, but it will find a place in the market. All in all, it might be a totally diaster of a game, but that was my opinion.
Biggest thing to be hyped about is that Hytale has access to Riot's music team.
Also Marketing, so I dont see Hytale getting any issues with reintroducing everyone to the game.

as soon as it releases, its going to blow up big time, no matter how many people forgot about it, i dont fear a shattered community
yeah this video kinda sucks, letting the developers take their time and release the game in a few years is way better for everyone
He literally said even if 10% plays then it will be massively successful, but he’s right on the part where the longer you wait the more the hype dies down, like i totally forgot about this game before this video popped up
@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd The hype will not die, because it simply already did, when they actually have a release date, the hype will grow back. Going radio silence was a decent choice. If they release a trailer tomorrow, I will be just as hyped as 4 years ago.
They may take the long way aproach, a similar game took the same route, bendy and the dark revival, too many delays which was suppose to launch at 2019, and paired with controversies and little communication with its community, everyone thought it was dead, cancelled, then recently they finally released the game, it was a hit with several youtubers playing the game, so hytale still has a chance, the bendy community literally had a dark revival, so too can hytale.
@@tamersuliman1165 They also get support from big company riot so they can have less preassure and probably in stable states at least with financial.
I remember first hearing about Hypixel making their own version of MC at the last Minecon since they were very disgruntled with Mojang. But that seems to have past with Minecraft’s boom again, they sold it off, and now I’d be surprised if it ever comes out
They didnt "sell it off", they already worked together with riot before the acquisition. The same people are working on the game as before with just as much passion and with the added benefit of having the funds and knowledge of a huge game studio on their side. The game is still actively being developed and will come out eventually bigger and better than what anyone could have ever imaged from the announcement trailer in 2018. I'm assuming you havent followed the development of hytale very actively which is understandable and most definitely the right thing to do since release is still somewhat far in the future (2024+). If you have any hytale related questions you would like to have answered or would like to chat with me about hytale I'll gladly do so.

Mostly a Minecraft with one of those big RPG modpacks thar are actually cool and fun for what it seems.
Try out vintage story.
@Blueveil It's so much more than that though. It's basically a voxel engine with an adventure mode to show what can be made with it.
The server infrastructure is going to be so much better than Minecraft and there's going to be automatic port forwarding so you don't have to pay for a subscription service or go through the hassle of setting up your own server.

You'll be able to download them with one click instead of having to download thirty-party software and mess with the files yourself. I love the way they handle it. I'm tired of unfinished or rushed games. This is the kind of dedication I would have wanted to see for Battlefield 2042 for example.
So you are willing to wait 7 years for a mediocre game?
@@gamerplaytime8174 so you are saying you wanna wait 3 years and have an unplayable game because it has so much bugs (like cyberpunk2077) or wait more so they fix it? also you saying "7 years" cuphead took 7 years to make, have u seen it yet? what about cuphead dlc? they all took long to make because if not they would be bad.

They might be fixed by now but still. It's not just me that wants a quality game, it's also the companies image that's getting ruined by publishing unfinished games as you can see.
I think the way Hytale went dark is like Riot Games operates with games that are not yet polished enough, Project F was announced in I believe 2020 and we haven't heard of it since, Project L was the same until last year November and if you look how drastically this game has changed from the first Gameplay trailer till then you can see that it improved a lot and the community really liked the changes.
Thats a good point. Ever since the Riot acquisition, they started emulating Riot-style communication, which means super rare community updates, but they tend to be substantial when we get them.
they should rename it to Project W
yeah the creator of this video barely addressed how riot games acquired hytale, which is massive btw. I would easily say riot is the best game company.
this si the first time i have seen a really-cool high production video using prison server b-roll lol! awesome vid! thanks for the rundown!
Nice job covering it, I’ve been waiting since the first trailer and I’ve only seen a few other videos of this quality cover Hytales history so far.
to be honest even if its as hyped up I still like to come back to the comunity and watch how the developemtn goes, will always be hyped for hytale
you deserve the recent support, your production quality has gotten so much better
Their biggest problem was that the trailer was released strategically when Minecraft looked like it was starting to die down. Which is why there was so much hype. Because people were excited for all the things they would fix as you said in the video.
But when Minecraft resurfaced higher than ever 2 things happened.
1. Hytale is less needed now that Minecraft is back in full swing.
2. Hypixel aren't as focused on hytale because of how the server grew due to the Minecraft resurgence. Because of that hytale takes longer to develop and it cost them big time.
Hytale and hypixel studios are not related. Hypixel is its own team, and Hytale Studios is its own team. The people who work on Hytale do not interact with minecraft or the hypixel team.
I don't think hytale is less needed, Minecraft doesn't evolved that much in the last years. It might be popular right now but I think unrelated to that, if Hytale will be ever released it will eventually rise interest among the community.
@@ChickenSando I just think that everything hytale has can easily be solved by mods that many people released.
@@shachardahan1081 Minecraft mods have their limits. They have to be up to date, the overall performance is not that great and looks like Hytale's modding will be much more simple and fast. Also the original problem was that big servers like Hypixel can't utilize mods because there's no ingame management for that. Modern games are about big online servers, but in Minecraft that's not possible with mods.
The Minecraft full swing is over tho
I think the part about giving updates is very important in maintaining the hype for a game. Developers who can give their communities updates generally have higher player counts. Just look at the Paradox games, they all have large communities, and any updates are always kept up on a weekly or monthly basis
I remember wanting nothing else then this game to release buts it went silent

The dev was exposed for doing something bad. I forget what it was but he ruined the game himself.

evry time i go back to Hytale and see all the progression they made makes me soo friking hyped up all over again
One thing I hope Hytale doesn't do is become overly complicated in the gameplay, it needs to be simple, easy to understand and if you want to learn any advancements you can do that. That's what I really think what Minecraft perfects on is it's simple game design while giving the option for the player to progress onto the advanced gameplay designs if they'd want too.
Man has it really been 4 years? I haven’t forgotten. Still waiting.

I appreciate you for this, crazy I'm not the only one hyped for this game haha
I think at this point it's actually not that bad of an idea for them to kind of let the hype fade and slip into the background for the time being, that way they can come out swinging again with something big when they're actually ready and can capitalize on it by having a close and realistic release date.
It's not that unthinkable that they could get a second wind if they suddenly release some massive content drop/release trailer, but if they try to keep the community informed and just trickle out teasers over the years then they won't actually have all that much new stuff to show when they're gonna need to get the hype train rolling again.
So I think they're actually doing a smart move here by not showing all their cards early, yeah it sucks for those fans who would like to follow along, but if they want to capture a bigger audience they will need to time it right.
Basically they're better off charging their spirit bomb then spamming ki blasts that do nothing in the long run. ;p

If Hytale actually releases, im convinced the hype will come back. I mean look at Eldenring, the devs didnt say anything from release trailer until close to release. Or just look at Valheim, when the game comes out and people realize its good, they will play it, even if it was unknown prior to release.
love that you used HOME’s music in the video :)
Nice editing, it really stood out compared to others
The single fact of knowing that they are rewriting their engine into a different coding language is enough to guess that it will take a really long time to be ready. Doing this is not like translating betweeen spoken/written languages, rewriting functions, procedures and algorithms take a lot of time. Just see how much time it takes for Minecraft's mod devs to update their code between versions (and being the same language).
This is why I've been following Vintage Story's development closer, smaller team but it's a labor of love rather than pushing to be the top product. I'm not sure if it's still at this point or not but HyTale and Vintage Story were based, funny enough, on Manic Digger source code, which was a classic injoke for us back in the good ol' archaic days. I hope things continue along for both projects, but I also hope the developers aren't caught in dev hell.
Also Vintage Story dev (Tyron, I think) had worked on Hytale before Vintage Story, and before Hytale Tyron had made mods for Minecraft. Didn't like how modding is limited in Minecraft, and didn't liked where Hytale was going to.
I have been playing Vintage Story and have been following the community, and I can say development on VS is still ongoing at a slow and steady pace! We normally get a teaser once a week or two if we are lucky about features or mechanics that Tyron and some of the other devs have been working on.
I can't believe it's been 4 years since the announcement

its pretty weird that there was people already playing alphas in 2015/16, and that they're were showing a practically complete game in 2018, they were even saying that the demo was near and we should be sign up for it, but once they saw how viral the trailer go, then they decide to completely remake their game, makes me wonder how bad that demo would actually been for them to do that.
WOW the editing for this video is stunning, good job
Haha, thank you :)
I agree with the video, but maintaining a community and staying away from burn-out is hard. Your videos stand out to me as some of the only good content at this time! Keep it up
Thanks so much man, really appreciate it! And yeah for sure, they can't be blamed entirely, it's a very hard thing to do
I know the communication should be better, but how they do it is common in the industry and one BIG thing you forgot in all of this is the situation of the last 3 years.
Two of my most anticipated games besides Hytale did not really good communicate and got really hit by the pandemic, namely Kerbal Space Programm 2 and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (BotW2). KSP2 was revealed 2019 at Gamecom and should also be released early 2020. But that it was delayed many times. All there was where only some Interviews with the Devs and a Dev diary every 4 to 6 Months. The current release Date is Early 2023, 3 years later than planned. The same with Zelda, revealed 2019 at E3 and with the pandemic we only got a new trailer at E3 2021. There were only 3 more Trailers, 2 mini trailer and the last one with the name and release date for 2023.
Many more games are in the same situation, Hytale is not the only one. Just to name a few more: Silksong, Atomic Heart, The Last Night, Paralives and every game from Ubisoft (but this is more Ubisofts fault)
Still waiting on Atomic heart 😭 it looked so good
Yeah bruh, we waited like 4 years for the Bendy Sequel, WITHOUT communication
@@foopygoopy1860 and it is good
I'm still hyped for it. I not be as excited when I fount out about it. But I understand we stand it takes time.
im kinda suprised you're not at 100k yet, i love bingeing your content :D
thanks so much! and yeah, not there yet but definitely on my way :)
I remember when Hytale first started growing, I was extremely excited especially as a kid who loved Minecraft. Hytale is definetely going to be an amazing game, it's just sad to see it die away slowly. I wish it the best and I'll be sure to check it out once it comes out :)
No one wants to wait 7 years for a mediocre game.
@@gamerplaytime8174 better than MC
@@applenewmoon4402 how can something be better if no one has even tried it? Tbh it could be worst😑
@@gamerplaytime8174 and how can it be worse if no one ever tried is the same argument bro. We are just hyped for the game also 7 years is good because then it will be a more well made game do you think developing games are easy?
@@jpdarkone4096 Quality of games is not based on just counting the time it took to make. It's taken this long because development stalled out, not because it's actually being worked on in full force for 7 years.
Anyone that's actually worked on a long term project understands that after so many years you look back and say things like, "wow, in retrospect we got almost nothing done the entire year 6". Projects stall out when they start going on too long. You end up with months between significant progress updates. "Team B needs me to get something to them. It's not a good time right now, I'll make sure to get it to them in the next 2 weeks". Things stall out people get stuck on tiny bumps for days and weeks longer than they would have at the start of work.
i am surprised that they haven't released a public beta yet. yes, the game might not be as polished as they want to, but getting a portion of the game out to the public is needed to keep it alive
Off topic, but thank you so much for taking the time to add subtitles! 🤗
Of course! I already had the script for each video, figured why not turn it into subtitles for those that need them (a surprisingly high amount, so I'm happy they're there!)
Wow, the chiildhood memories I had with Jet Set Radio. Really can't wait what Team Reptile can bring to the table once Bomb Rush Cyberfunk comes out
At this point I think they should just run to a "good enough" goal and then release a few updates as soon as they can when they release the first edition. After the first month or two release a larger update and keep modifying it while keeping in contact with the community. That might help them and might rescue them from the inevitable failure when it releases at this point.
Yeah they might have to pull a no man’s sky maneuver
this is the worst thing they should definitely NOT do this inless they wanna piss people off myself included im tired of people wanting devs to release there work early just to have other people shit on them for doing such a thing it comes out when it well comes out a early release would mean more bugs as well. and i get it people are still waiting for this game but id rather have them continue to work on it rather than release some really buggy product that could also hurt them in the long run just cause people wanted it early.
@@Helix142 it was ready in 2021, they gave us a release date. There is no excuses at this point for "unfinished game"
@@ZverseZ They had to grow the scope of the game to meet the overwhelming popularity it got, especially after riot bought their studio. Hell they even rewrote the entire engine of the game and basically had to start from scratch
@@Helix142 i understand that, i do not think they should release it early with unfinished parts but rather finish the bare minimum to make it complete, the polish can be added later and the story can be expanded at any time. If they keep pushing it back its release wont be noticed by nearly enough people to keep the game moving and to keep its relevance. I think that they should finish the game in a way to make it have a full base story and make it good enough to play the base part of it. If they strive for full polish right of the bat the game will be in a loop where its never good enough. I am someone who writes a good bit of stories for others, for myself and for communities and I struggle with this every time as i always want them to be perfect, the problem is that you have to draw the line somewhere in the middle. In a place you are happy with it and where its finished enough to get people to enjoy it. Again i dont want cyberpunk to repeat but rather the minimum viable product to hit the market to keep the relevance and popularity of hytale going until its full and final release.
I really wish that they had used the benefits of early access, similar to survival games like Subnautica (and how that game owes it's success to it's early access phase)
This has issues though. You can't rebuild your engine when you need to constantly be building onto it. It causes games to get a little bit of everything but not enough of all of it.
Just depends but when you are redoing so much of the game it's better they didn't.
This video was actually really well made, and I remember your DSMP oversimplified but I didn't know this was you.
Subscriber Granted.
thank you!! glad you enjoyed it :)
As someone that's waiting for Silksong aswell to release..
Yeah I'm gonna have to wait for the end of time
I wouldn't call Hytale... forgotten, It's still very much hyped up.
I suppose it just depends on the community. I'm getting people saying they don't even know what it is anymore and a lot of people commenting that they've given up hope/are disappointed
@@mcbyt I suppose people that haven't really spent much time looking at Hytale stuff (ie, Minecraft community, youtube viewers, general public) have kind of forgotten about the game, however people that have really invested time into looking at Hytale stuff, still (mostly) have hope. And, while not mentioned in your video, I can also say that a lot of Hytale youtube channels have simply stopped, due to the lack of news (eg, Kweebec Corner, Hytale News), especially since in 2021 (?) when Hypixel Studios were bought out by Riot Games, a whole load of Hytale focused channels sprung up.
Another thing I think you should've mentioned in your video is that Hypixel and Hypixel Studios are two VERY, VERY different companies, one being the Minecraft Server people, and one being the game studio owned by Riot. You didn't make that SUPER clear in your video, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, great video, love your content! Still holding on to hope that Hytale is great!
@@cyberpxlMost people stopped paying attention to Hytale two years ago.
That was when the hype train completely died out. All thats left is the community waiting for a game that many think they will not get.

i remember waiting for Hytale after the trailer drop, it is insane of how i forgot about it until now
I'm still looking forward to this game. I'm just happy to be patient and wait for it to come out and hopefully be good. I'm not in too much of a rush
It feels like Karlson is going to come out sooner than Hytale at this point
i like your funny words magic man
@@Arvl. oh, so you don't know what Karlson is? *laughs maniacally*
Not sure if you mentioned it because I couldnt watch the while video but didnt riot games acquire all of hypixel studios including hytale? Which means they’re no longer backed by a small indie studio- and they did show some gameplay on the announcement video. I have big faith in riot so i’m sure they wont just forget about the game.
I'm definitely gonna get hytale on release date
Finnaly someone is talking about it, every month I check and I slowly believe that the game is dying, it's sad

i really hope this game turns out good
It's definitely looking better than it was in 2018, but the lack of publicity might've killed it
@@mcbyt yea, but they could probably release another trailer a few months before game and that could bring back hype
@@mcbyt You do have to consider that riot acquired hytale and they have every motivation to make sure hytale is a success. If they didnt trust the game, it's developers and their vision then surely they wouldnt have acquired it in the first place. Riot has worked with and showed great interest in Hytale for a long time before the acquisition. They saw Hytales potential and wanted to fully realise it.
I’ve seen one more disconnected for a good period of time, silksong and then finally this past year or so they’ve opened up so much more
No need to release it, I'm already playing it in my head.

Ok then u speak about it in “45 sekonds”

If they were still independent I'd be worried, but considering they were acquired by Riot Games, I honestly have hope that in the end it'll deliver. Once they're closer to release and start hyping up the game, I think that it'll once again reach a great level of anticipation.
Exactly this. The fact that they're part of Riot makes the game all but guaranteed to be great.

The thing that made me lose a lot of interest on Hytale was when they announced that they'd been bought by Riot since Riot is owned by Tencent
What isn't owned by Tencent nowadays. Still, Riot itself is a very good and respectable company. Given none of their game releases are P2W and all of them are atleast somewhat sucessful. With Leauge being literally the most active moba in the world. Riot funding Hytale is a good thing.
@@c4ke_rs riot made valorant, which has so many privacy concerns

the thing that made me lose interest was that they decided to rebuild their engine after 5+ years of development, making hytale not release in the next 2+ years
this shouldn't matter, the acquisition by riot gave them a much larger budget and workpower and was nothing but a good thing
@@dncng4csh I dont believe you when you say you lost interest. It would be more accurate if you said you lost interest in following Hytale. I mean when the game does come out eventually let's say in 2-3 years which is still a long time away, it's not like you're gonna be like a child and be like "if i don't get it right now I don't want it at all". We all know damn well youre gonna play it when it comes out just like the rest of the hytale community.
"I have never seen a game so distant with its community"
Still waiting for silksong, less than a year but no confirmed release date after barely anything for years
i feel like its going to take somewhat as long as it did for avatar 2 to release compared to avatar 1 (13 years btw) and yes i know there's a difference between movie and game production but the quality and height that hypixel is going for is crazy and it might take even more time then we think if they haven't already stopped
I don’t actually think it’s a mistake to not post regular updates. As they are rewriting the code things will have appeared to have gone backwards which would draw criticism from those who don’t understand that it will create a more stable end result. Regular updates also risks burning potential players out, if you’re constantly teasing a game but never actually releasing then people will lose interest and dismiss the project entirely. Alternatively if they have a big media push just prior to launch it’ll generate far more hype. As for releasing sooner with an unfinished game, it’s far harder to regain the communities trust than releasing a polished title initially.
Eh no.
There are industry examples that showed that staying open in game development is beneficial for the community but also for development.
Digital Extremes the company that created Warframe is literally proof of this, they regularly have "Devstreams" where the devs talk and announce the changes and developments for the game even if that content was to come out in 2 or 6 months we still have fragments or information.
And yet every year they have a special event dedicated in their community and announce the next content (Tennocon / Tennolive).
Digital Extremes was not a AAA company and it was only in 2020 that Tencent, the same parent company of Riot Games, became interested in them and acquired them.
Being radio silent for that long is so easy to screw up because you can literally tune out what your players want(Cube World) or get out right(Hollow knight).
But being open to development in an organized way only proves to be beneficial because it allows your community to follow the development and feel that despite being slow the progress is marked.
@@koroxo1152 There’s a key difference between say warframe, star citizen, and this project. They have an alpha already available, so open communication always plays to see how their experience will improve over time. In this case I don’t think they’re ready to release an alpha, and launching a broken/unfinished game could completely destroy the project.
Honestly? I really want Hytale to succeed, but at the same time I want it to crash and burn into the ground. I’ve been with Minecraft for so long that it would break my heart to see it get pushed into irrelevancy (somehow) by another game. Hytale looks good, but I’m sticking with Minecraft for now…

Hytale keeps up blogs and I am always excited for it. Also, amazing video. Get some sleep, please.
It's crazy how I was in 5th grade when hytale's trailer dropped and now I'm in my first year of high school but time flies I guess
I'm sorry but this shit is stupid af. You're essentially complaining that they aren't promoting and hyping up the game enough prior to its actual release. Current interest doesn't mean anything, people's attention is fickle in this day and age. Having Riot Games as a publisher means they can easily skyrocket interest with a decent marketing campaign when the game is close to release and, provided the game can back up its promises, get a guaranteed player base.
