Having tried just about all the lens adapters out there, I've come up with what is a better solution for me. I simply put two tiny beads of fun-tack gum type adhesive directly on the outer edges top/bottom of the quest2 lens and press the corrective lens right onto it. Minimizes FOV reduction, no added bulk of adapter rings/magnets to get in the way of your nose and brow. And the adapter rings do crack and snap over time. Give it a try.

VR Wave lenses also move around a bit too easily as they are attached with relatively weak magnets. Especially if you have a larger nose ridge, and I ended up scratching my lenses on both the VR wave lenses and the Quest 2. Yes, they were indeed installed correctly and the lens holders were not on too far. My nose ridge isn't huge, but I did end up having to polish the Quest 2 lenses to get rid of the scratches, and the VR wave lenses were rendered useless, because "buffing" the scratches out also buffed out the blue light filter coating. Polywatch was a lifesaver in this situation. Everyone who owns a VR headset should have a tube of it.
@@VRwithJasmine VR Lens Lab. Their system attaches to the lens without magnets and remains stable enough that the lenses don't rub together. The issue with VR Lens was that my nose ridge was pushing the magnets out of place slightly. Not so much that they would fall off, but the shifting caused the two lenses to rub together at the thickest point and ended up scratching both. Basically, it's the same thing that makes it convenient to remove that caused my issue. If you have a nose with a short profile or your IPD is wider and offers plenty of space between the lenses for your nose, VR Lens is probably fine for you, but if you have a more prominent ridge you might want to go with a system that is more solidly attached to the lenses. Taking off the faceplate for someone else to use the headset is a minor irritation, but way better than scratched lenses.
I use prescription lenses in my Q2, but previously I had worn glasses with the spacer. I've just added a Kiwi Elite strap which is amazing for comfort but I still wasn't happy with the blurry picture having to be very careful how my Q2 was positioned on my head. After watching your video I realised I still had the glasses spacer fitted. I've removed it and wow absolutely crystal clear vision, all crisp and well focused. It had been blurry all because I had forgotten to remove the spacer, d'oh!!
You are so right. Prescription lenses make a huge difference. I have high astigmatism. I got some lenses from VR Lens Lab for Quest 2 and they are amazing. They are so good, I find it strange when I take the headset off and realize I have to wear glasses again! :)
What a fantastic video! Thank you for this amazing video to help out so many people! And yes Field of view is extremely important to me. After experiencing how the Valve Index feels, the quest 2 just doesn't give me that same little extra view. But then again that's comparing apples to oranges with $300 vs $1000!
I never understood why people make such a big deal about FOV until I started using the glasses spacer. Even just that small distance further from the lenses made my overall view noticeably smaller. Now I'm also on that NEED MORE FOV bandwagon.
What you really need to do is download side quest on your computer and connect it to your quest 2 then turn up the texture resolution to highest. The only problem is it decreases battery life. Combine that with the lenses for a perfectly sharp in image. Also you can customize some of these lenses for your prescription.
@Shunazo - It affects the quest 2 without the link. The problem is, every time the headset turns off it returns to the default resolution. So even if you don't get frame rate issues in your game (differs game to game), it wont stay at the new resolution, rather you have to keep turning it back on. In side quest you can also turn up the gpu/cpu power and this alongside increasing the resolution might allow the headset to work better with a game that would otherwise struggle at a higher resolution, the problem is, it drains the battery much faster, so if you don't have a battery pack like with the elite headstrap, you're going to face battery issues doing this. Separately, have a superior headstrap, over and above that of the one out of the box: this helps keep your headset in place and in the right sweetspot for your eyes. There is simply too much movement with the default strap and this on its own can create a poor image for you.
@@HodorGamingTV in anything intense it's around 45 mins. It's not worth it and can also cause issues with some games. Blurry pic is always either the lense or positioning. Increasing the resolution is not even that noticeable.
@@heretotroll.9703 doesn’t really matter to me anymore anyway because I returned my quest 2. I know I COULD spend more money on prescription lenses, a better strap, and you name what else but I couldn’t really justify spending that much money to make an already subpar experience moderately better. To say I found VR underwhelming and disappointing is an understatement.
That would be incredible! It sounds possible though really expensive as each person will need a custom software-- or you'll need to use machine learning for all the fine adjustments.
@@VRwithJasmine I was thinking just one software. As long as you know your prescription, you'd input it somewhere in the settings menu and the screen/s would simulate your prescription.
I don’t think this is possible just through software although it would be cool if you could. The if you need prescription than the screen will always be just blurred and just software can’t change the blurring if it is too bad to see the screen projecting a different image it would still be blurry.
Try using the glasses spacer with your headset for some time. Give it at least a week. If it really bothers you, then consider buying accessories but I'd give it some time first. Here's my Quest 2 for Beginner's tutorial which also talks about this: ua-cam.com/video/kIZ-ARVKtn0/v-deo.html
I bought a tennis elbow velcro strap from the local drug store. I use it with a recharging brick as a counterweight on the top/ strap or below the tightening button at back of my headset. Now I can cup the back strap below the occipital ridge bone at the back of my skull as intended and loosen the whole thing more around my head and face. Comfy, now sits in the correct spot for my vision, and recharges my headset!
I'm curious did she wear glasses with the original RIFT and how come it took months to notice the blurry. Coming from the RIFT cv1 wasn't it obvious from the moment first put it on?
I didn’t use glasses with the CV1 cause I was new to VR so I was still amazed by VR to notice the nuances. It wasn’t obvious on Quest 2 at first either but after playing more and more on a regularly basis, my eyes started to hurt.
Yea, it won’t ever perfectly be not blurry cause there’s only 3 IPD settings (distance between eyes) and us humans have a much more granular distance than just 3 settings :/
I had both and returned the quest 2. Alyx is better on the S. PC games are better period on the S. With the link cable or wireless it's still not as good as the S. But this was a year ago and I just got a quest 2 256gb for $175. Lets see if all those updates have helped!
Omg what was that 1st game you showed us? When you were talking about if you're not doing much motion. It was like a bubble floating in a Forrest looking area
just got my it today. I've played on many vr headsets but the oculus quest 2 was very blurry, and the fov was horrible. I've tried a lot to fix it but can't seem to fix it. ( I have glasses to btw)
Did you try the glasses spacer? Yea, OQ2 takes a lot of messing around with to have a clearer view. Mine is pretty good now but I had to shell out some $ for the prescription lenses
@@VRwithJasmine yes i have it on. ive gotten use to it more, however the fov is till not the best, and i feel oculus should have made the headset a little larger, its still a great headset overall though.
Have you noticed that sometimes image in Oculus can be, not fully blurry, but how to say that, little bit blurry, not ideally shaped. I wonder how to fix that
I have not had any problems using my glasses with a Q2, or any other VR headset. Mine are 140x40mm, rimless titanium frames, high index lens (thinner/lighter). Also, if you have multi-focals (bifocals) make sure these are no more than +1.50. I also found that using the VR Cover standard interface with their eyeglass spacer and Cool pads (I use the thin one) works very well with my measured ipd = 69mm and provides a bit more eyeglass clearance. With #3 outer setting and does not significantly effect my FOV, nor do I see any left/right outer bars.
Maybe you should try to upgrade the quality on your quest through sidequest. It allows one to up the textures and sharpness and field of view on the quest stand alone. I have a video on my channel on it.
Yea, that’s normal. Newer headsets are getting better at increasing pixels per inch but overall consumer VR tech is still pretty new. You’ll get used to it. Also, Recroom doesn’t have the highest level of graphics. Try playing Red Matter 2
As long as it's clean, yes! You just don't want to use your shirt which can have dirt particles on it from wearing it. The dirt particles can scratch the lenses.
I have a quest 2 for over a month, it was great the first few weeks but then got blurry, the reason was grease on the lenses. I used a lens pens and the quest experience is no longer blurry!
I'm playing Skyrim VR (modded of course) and get some pretty bad light shafts that stretch from the virtual controllers to the center of my vision. I can only assume this is due to my astigmatism. I can't use the glasses spacer as my head is larger than the average person. My glasses are literally too wide to fit within the confines of the facial interface without putting pressure on the sides. Also, I'm concerned that the IPD adjustment may not allow for someone of my neanderthal sized skull. I have it set to the max, but still concerned it isn't right. Thanks for your video. I'll give these lenses a try. Hopefully they are enough. :)
I've been using VR for years with glasses... never needed to use the provided glasses spacer with any of my headsets. The biggest problem with the Quest 2's clarity is that it only had 3 IPD settings instead of the Quest 1's more fine-tune-able slider, technically the Quest 2 still has that functionality but its kind of difficult to do because the physical mechanism wants to be in one of the three positions not somewhere in between.
No, it was cause I was using the Rift before and the visual quality of Quest 2 is a lot better overall. Unfortunately, OQ2 is blurrier because it’s harder to get the IPD and headset adjustment right.
Hi! First time I'm seeing a comment from you so welcome! This facial interface is by VR cover. vrcover.com/#Jasmine I also made a full review/tutorial video comparing it to other options here ➡ ua-cam.com/video/4oPed4FcC_M/v-deo.html
I just use a par of anti scratch Rings to keep my glasses from making contact with the lenses along side the included glasses spacers. Had no major issues on my end, and was somewhat cheeper then getting dedicated lenses for a headset.
I have difficulty finding a HMD that suits my IPD (75mm) and glasses. I have tried a Quest, could not use it. I currently use a Pimax 8KX which goes to a manual 70mm IPD and has software that increases the IPD to 75mm. I have tried several headsets, the HP Reverb G2 and Vive Pro 2 didn't work for me, they had less than 70mm max IPD. Interesting the old Vive and Vive Pro has a max IPD of 74mm. I'm hoping future VR headsets go up to 75mm.
I don't really notice any pov reduction when I use spacer and glasses. But I did order some lenses. Magnetic. Reloptix. They should take about 4 weeks to get. Waited 2 already. So we will see : ) I do like the lenses you talked about too. Should be a lot more comfortable then wearing glasses pushing on my nose : )
@@blackprior.9976 I agree VR headsets need higher FOV 100%. This also helps with decreasing motion sickness. But games are still playable with less FOV, just not as enjoyable.

I didn't think about losing field of view using the spacer. I am using prescription lens inserts from Widmo VR and I guess I don't need the spacer anymore, but just haven't taken it out. No one uses my Quest but me, so I don't worry about taking off those lenses, also don't need to take off the facial interface anyway, so that isn't a problem. Unfortunately I lost the original lens inserts or whatever those plastic pieces are that keep the Quest lenses in place, so if I did need to take off the prescription lenses I am stuck. Now I did buy replacement inserts that also protected my glasses from touching the Quest lenses if I chose to remove my prescription lens inserts and use my glasses again or if someone wanted to use my Quest, but somehow they got misplaced and I would have to buy more, but since no one uses my Quest but me it's not an issue now.
@@VRwithJasmine I mean the original plastic parts that keep the Quest lenses in place, not the actual prescription lens inserts, that is by Widmo VR. I had lost the plastic pieces because they got misplaced as I didn't need them to hold the prescription lens inserts in place

Is there a way to fine tune the distance between the lenses? It just clicks between three different distances when I try doing it and I can’t get it to the right distance
The eyeglass spacer does not help me at all! The game is so small and it is so tight and hurts my face if I try to wear my glasses! I’m going try contacts or vr waves! Thanks for the info!
Guys, I bought a pair of VR Wave lenses for my DJI FPV goggles. One eye was great, the other, not so great, a bit blurry at the bottom, right side edge. I contact VR Wave. They asked for proof of purchase and a video showing the installation and the issue. Then, they just did a disappearing act. I assume the initial questions were to try to run down the clock or get me to "go away" I don't know. I've mailed them several times since then and, NO RESPONSE! I subsequently bought lenses off the shelf and they've worked fine. I don't have an astigmatism so, maybe I was lucky with the cheap lenses, hard to say. Anyway, VR Wave let me down as a company with a terrible response to my issue. There must be another company doing these. Maybe try them. Oh, I still get promotional spam from VR Wave! Hope this was helpful.
Hey! I started making oculus videos like you but I don’t have views or followers do you have any tips and tricks to grow? I posted a video but it has no views and I don’t know what to do to bring it up
Hello! Yes, focus on making your videos better each time. Your first 20 videos probably won't get many views. That's expected. People won't watch your videos all the way through the end cause they'll suck at first (unless you're a professional videographer/producer/editor). But if you keep working on improving your video quality (script, editing, storytelling, pace), then people will start watching it to the end. Once they do that, UA-cam will begin recommending your videos to wider audiences.

I wear bifocals because I need prescription lenses for reading but my distance vision is almost perfect. Can bifocal or progressive lenses be used on my vr quest 2 or should I order the lenses with just the prescription for reading?
I have a big problem with foggy lenses, but when i bought my oculus it didnt come with a one of those extenders? I also dont have the money to buy one of those things you pop onto the lenses:(( my quest 2 is sometimes completely unplayable, as it fogs too much, if i put my virtual hand in front of my face in vr, the only thing i can see is the color of my hand being dragged across lenses making it seem like im blind.. :( i get pretty frustrated when i cant play
Use a sweatband when you play to absorb moisture while you play. That’ll lessen the fogging. If you dont have a sweatband, literally anything you can put around your forehead area underneath the headset will work. You can tie a bandana around your forehead or a piece of scrap fabric, etc. I’m guessing its fogging a lot because you’re sweating, right?

Hello, thanks for your kind message! You can check my pinned message for more tips. I don't fully understand your question... are you saying you see the outer edges of the lenses?
I don't like the clip on lens, somehow, Its not as good as regular glasses. I think it's because sometimes the left eyes is watching thourght the right oculus lens, with glasses it uses its normal correction but with the clip on it gets the wrong eye correction. Same thing for the other eye.
Excellent video ! the addition of the corrective lenses has made the OQ2 experience much more enjoyable. I found them at Amazon $25 ea (if your eyes have differing SPH values) $40 pair otherwise. The prescription SPH values range from 2.0 to 6.0 ( nearsighted correction only).
Hello. I have a question. So I'm planning to buy this and put my facebook account. But if someone borrowed it, can they access my facebook and do what they want? Like can they see my facebook profile or not? And if I logout my facebook, can I still play games?
When I try to use Facebook on my headset, it still makes me log on. However, they can see your friends and messages cause that’s integrated. You can make a secondary account on that headset and all the games will be useable still on that second account. (:

Hey, what kind of dollars do you use? Seems to me very expensive, because you can get prescription lenses for the Quest for around 80 $ US. I bought mine in Thailand, where I live for even less (around 15 $, but no prescription lenses). I went to my opticien and had them make the fitting lenses. In the end it cost me around 60$ US. The advantage is that I don't need to send anything, but can go to the shop. Concerning the distance, mine are thinner then the ones you show. The only problem I had was that the holders didn't fit very well. But since I'm not planning to sell the Quest, I glued the holders in place. What I also like is that the original lenses of the Quest don't get dirty and the prescription lenses are easy to clean. I'm very happy with them, the picture is always very clear. Only af few weeks ago, I had to change one lense. Seems that my eyesight has improved somehow, the lens was too strong (it was based on the glasses I use). These I use only while driving my car or watching a movie. I'm 64 by the way and don't even use glasses for reading.... 🤓
Hi Sjaak, very interesting! I'm not surprised that they're cheaper in Thailand. The price I showed is for the prescription PLUS the blue light blocking technology but if you don't get all of that, it can be as cheap as $50. Still expensive though compared to your $15! Can you send me the link to that one?
Id prefer if you can adjust each lense instead of both everytime i wear it its blurry and gives me headaches i cant enjoy the quest 2 and it sits and collects dust i honestly regret buying it the sad part is i just bought it and has an hour total of run time
I don't get this problem. But wanna know what I do get sometimes?? FOGGY VISION!! 15 seconds in and one lense is foggiest, and the other is half as foggy, wipe it all away, 7 seconds later, it reforms!! ... Happens every once in awhile. Not at all often.

This is funny 😆 Glad this video reminded you to remove your spacer
You are so right. Prescription lenses make a huge difference. I have high astigmatism. I got some lenses from VR Lens Lab for Quest 2 and they are amazing. They are so good, I find it strange when I take the headset off and realize I have to wear glasses again! :)
I also have astigmatism which I don't normally wear glasses for unless I'm reading a lot. The prescription lenses make a huge difference for VR!
@@VRwithJasmine I bought the VR wave ones it took about 3 weeks I got them with the blue light filter they are amazing!
Better to use the Oculus debug tool. It keeps the settings after power down.
Yeah it shortens the 2 fucking hours of battery life you get to 1 hour lmfao
@@HodorGamingTV in anything intense it's around 45 mins. It's not worth it and can also cause issues with some games. Blurry pic is always either the lense or positioning. Increasing the resolution is not even that noticeable.
@@heretotroll.9703 doesn’t really matter to me anymore anyway because I returned my quest 2. I know I COULD spend more money on prescription lenses, a better strap, and you name what else but I couldn’t really justify spending that much money to make an already subpar experience moderately better. To say I found VR underwhelming and disappointing is an understatement.
I wonder if the technology exists to simulate you eye/glasses prescription through software? That way no glasses would be needed at all.
I never had to use glasses with the HTC vive
I don’t think this is possible just through software although it would be cool if you could. The if you need prescription than the screen will always be just blurred and just software can’t change the blurring if it is too bad to see the screen projecting a different image it would still be blurry.
@@mrsteeleftw Do you wear glasses?
Just got quest 2, and I have glasses. Noticed it right away that edges are blurred. I’m frustrated, and not sure if I should buy more accessories. 😩🤔
T just got oculus quest 2 idk what to do with it
You mean what games to play or just overall?
I bought a tennis elbow velcro strap from the local drug store. I use it with a recharging brick as a counterweight on the top/ strap or below the tightening button at back of my headset. Now I can cup the back strap below the occipital ridge bone at the back of my skull as intended and loosen the whole thing more around my head and face. Comfy, now sits in the correct spot for my vision, and recharges my headset!
This is such a clever solution. Would love to see a photo if you have a link
For now I'm using the spacer and I don't loose any FOV. I use my glasses but it's still a little bit blurry depending.

Have you noticed that sometimes image in Oculus can be, not fully blurry, but how to say that, little bit blurry, not ideally shaped. I wonder how to fix that
Thanks I wonder if I can use my flex spending for the lenses
Worth a try! I know some companies allow you to expense VR headsets as a fitness expense.
Didn’t know this! I’ll check it out. Thank you

Yea, that’s normal. Newer headsets are getting better at increasing pixels per inch but overall consumer VR tech is still pretty new. You’ll get used to it. Also, Recroom doesn’t have the highest level of graphics. Try playing Red Matter 2
+VR with Jasmine IF MY LENS are foggy or dust can i use microfiber Cloth to clean it????
As long as it's clean, yes! You just don't want to use your shirt which can have dirt particles on it from wearing it. The dirt particles can scratch the lenses.

I have a quest 2 for over a month, it was great the first few weeks but then got blurry, the reason was grease on the lenses. I used a lens pens and the quest experience is no longer blurry!
Wow, this was unexpected! I usually just wipe my lenses with a lens cloth. I'll need to try a lens pen. Thanks for the tip
Would it be easier for you to just wear contacts? That was the easiest solution I had found.
Yes but I’ve always worn glasses. Never learned to use contacts.
I've never tried glasses without the glasses spacer. I'm too scared to ruin my glasses. Totally agree on the 3 IPD settings thing!
Good to know, I might try this since my glass are somewhat flexible(not sure what's its name is but its an oxford brand glass).

It actually stays between two numbers.
Which app is the one that appears that landscape with a river downstream?
I don't understand why your clarity was so much better when you first got the Quest 2. Did your Rx change that much? (I'm still using my Rift S, fyi.)
No, it was cause I was using the Rift before and the visual quality of Quest 2 is a lot better overall. Unfortunately, OQ2 is blurrier because it’s harder to get the IPD and headset adjustment right.
I don't notice the difference in field of view using the spacer. I'll check now.
Did you notice it now? I definitely do!

I just use a par of anti scratch Rings to keep my glasses from making contact with the lenses along side the included glasses spacers. Had no major issues on my end, and was somewhat cheeper then getting dedicated lenses for a headset.
That's a great hack! Very clever. Prescription lenses are so pricey.
Mine is still blurry after even using my glasses and I've adjusted everything over and over I don't know what to do
Did you check my pinned comment? I added more tips there.
I put the glasses spacer in mine because my daughter wears glasses.
I leave it there and notice no problems when I'm using it.
There shouldn't be any problems. In fact, it probably makes the visuals clearer. Only thing is slightly smaller FOV but nothing too noticeable!
Contact lenses?
Those are best!
How about using contact lenses?
Yk there's those little stickers on the headset that u peel off it stops the blur
Great point! I forgot about that. Yes, definitely remove that sticker from the lenses!!
The render resolution makes the images blurry and choppy . Maybe oculus to release and update and fix that
Do you mean that gameplay renders at a lower resolution in order to maintain frame rate?
VR optician is the best option. They use German Carl Zeiss glass. I got mine for $100
I wear glasses fine with my htc vive and they sit good. Maybe it’s the design idk
Probably the design tbh. Also depends if you move your head a lot (like me) or not.
Activating Night Mode used to make it less blurry for me.
I'll need to try this! I rarely, if ever, use Night Mode. Thanks for the advice
I actually like the way everything looks better with night mode on. I forgot. I turned it on the first day and couldn't go back after lol
I used "VR optician" for my rift s (lenses where supposedly manufactured at carl zeiss), they where very sharp with no distortion

I’d say contact lenses if you’re ok with putting them in every time. I can’t touch my eyeballs. Lol
@@VRwithJasmine I prefer glasses over contacts 100% but VR feels so nice without anything in the way of the lenses.
Which original lens inserts?
@@VRwithJasmine I mean the original plastic parts that keep the Quest lenses in place, not the actual prescription lens inserts, that is by Widmo VR. I had lost the plastic pieces because they got misplaced as I didn't need them to hold the prescription lens inserts in place

Usually you use your distance prescription since you’re mostly looking at the “distance” and less reading.

Finally, I’m jealous of your 20/20 vision
I factor resetted my question it doesn't want to work
