Be thankful you were alive during the time frame when bands like the Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zep, etc were kicking ass live onstage!
Don't get enough credit?? Dude, what are you on, my friend? I'd like some! 😁 Seriously, they are EASILY considered by most to be one of the top 2 or 3 co-songwriters of all time. Especially when discussing classic rock, or 1960's counterculture. Second only to maybe Lennon/McCartney and often considered above them when specifically discussing classic rock. Also, second to Lennon/McCartney, they are the most SUCCESSFUL songwriting duo. That's just a simple fact. So not enough credit for you? Or do you just not really know what you're talking about? If the latter is true, well no worries mate; you obviously are at least a casual fan if not more, so you're off to a good start! 👍😁👍
I think you can get pretty close to objectivity by saying they aren't simply because all of their their albums aren't brilliant cover to cover. The same can be said of other great bands like Floyd or Zeppelin. The icky band that ever did that was The Beatles. That's why they're the best, plain and simple.
I hope these guys make it big. They have a lot of potential.

56 years ago and it still hasn’t ‘ gotten old’. Rest In Peace Charlie Watts, gone but not forgotten. John Lennon rocking out says it all
That Conga drummer is brilliant.
It lends the tone of the whole song.
That’s gotta be Rocky
Hey, I made and animated video of sympathy for the devil using A.I. Wanna check it out? ua-cam.com/video/FcUjGP3498E/v-deo.html
Don't know his name, but would love to know. I could be wrong. But isn't he the same conga player that played in the Traffic song, The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys?
@@gregory571 Rocky Dijon
Man he earned his pay that day. He kept that beat going the whole song…a marathon conga player.
There's a reason this band has succeeded through generations.
To display their freedom in front of the public , inspired , follows.
They’re alive
Golly gee! Is there? Could you share it with us all oh holder of secret information!?!?!?
What's such a lirycs! Nothing have change Sir Jagger!
Lennon grooving at 4:54 is a complete mood.
Fax
And at the end where he’s just playing with a ball of yarn
I love that he is getting down to this.
Yeah !
Are you sure? Watch the vid of Lennon and Dylan sharing a cab. Dylan is out of his mind high and Lennon is throwing so much sarcasm that its just gross.
one of several songs that Charlie gave us, without a doubt his legacy is here to stay, Mr. Charlie!
RIP Charlie, a legendary and one of the best drummers the UK has produced that will never be forgotten.
He really was something else Mick Jagger ultimate rocker/rebel.
One of the greatest performances in Rock history.
So agree with you. Never a more high octane show as Jagger did here. Don't really like the stones but this was mesmerizing. Long live amphetamines!
Certainly one of the great lectures. Fleurs du Mal stuff.
this is disco
This performance was at the end of the movie, and was filmed after midnight. The band, film crew were pretty spent by then. A few even suggested they all get an hour or two of sleep before filming the final segment. Mick Jagger reportedly was adamantly opposed to the idea.
zSo hard to watch them knowing Charlie is gone :(
Still one of the finest rock songs ever written. “Sympathy for the Devil” defines The Rolling Stones, arguably the greatest of all Rock n Roll bands.
Nirvana, pink Floyd... nirvana was a game changer
Totally agree with you Peter, where is there any one better ?
@@stephenvine3104 Thanks for commenting Stephen, so many great bands from the 60’s until today. The Kinks are my favorite British band, and sometimes I wonder if Ray Davies and his brother and the other members of The Kinks ever collaborated with The Stones, or even if they ever hung out together. Google it, I’m told, and so I will. Have a blessed day. From San Diego, Ca. Peace to you and yours.

I wish I'd heard this song before COD Black Ops
You dont get any thing better than that . 08:20 secs of pure musical brilliance . From start to finish .
lol! yeah, the last 30 seconds, where they fold like a cheap lawn chair. don't get me wrong. I like the stones, certainly more than the beatles, but richards was garbage with a couple of fumbling solos, jones was so stoned he couldn't be relied on to do anything more than use a couple hand shakers, and Mick was apparently lip syncing, or there was serious delay between the mic and the p.a.
@@stevedavis8329 not lip syncing. this was a live show. the studio version is better. it's pure, pure.
Freaking Legends! And still going nearly 6 DECADES LATER!!!

That's what most bands did for videos early on
Wow john Lennon and yoko as spectator 😮 great video !
dirty mac is keef bass clapton lead lennon yer blues same day
Absolutely one of the coolest "looks" Mick ever sported with his hair that length! My other favorite is his 1966 look with the short cropped bangs.
60 years of being one of the most consistently true bands. Doesn't matter the era, The Stones are The Stones!
The real hero is the guy who has to play the exact same conga pattern for ten minutes
Brh imagine Brian Jones. High af and playing the same pattern. At a point, his hands hurt, but he has no clue why
Rocky Dijon, the brother was BADASS
Fun fact: The original tempo was so much slower... Please Thank Brian Jones for this version with the faster pace and also the awesome piano play!
Yup
Nice arm workout
RIP Charlie Watts. A sad day for music, but his music lives on forever

I'm one of the biggest fans of The Who you'll find and on behalf of Who Nation: this performance is absolutely incredible! When I was young we always played the "this band is better than that band" game. But from the perspective of a 55 year old: they're ALL great! Be thankful you were alive during the time frame when bands like the Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zep, etc were kicking ass live onstage!
Try and look at Eric Burdon and War doing paint it black ,live eye opener.

Mick and Keith don’t get enough credit for there genius song writing. To me the greatest band ever.
The stones are great but pink floyd is the best band EVER
when NIcky was with them, possibly...
@@solomonkane6442 Just: no
I think you can get pretty close to objectivity by saying they aren't simply because all of their their albums aren't brilliant cover to cover. The same can be said of other great bands like Floyd or Zeppelin. The icky band that ever did that was The Beatles. That's why they're the best, plain and simple.
Kick ass song. If no one knows, Rolling Stones have had the most songs played in movies. That tells how fantastic they are!
