- Allodoxaphobia, decidiophobia, nomophobia, catoptrophobia, and chorophobia. Want to know about some of the rarest phobias? Sometimes, fears become excessive and irrational, to the point where we can’t function normally. The intense worry and avoidance caused by these fears can interrupt day to day living, causing panic when that fear is encountered - that’s when the fear becomes a phobia. In a previous video, we talked about the most common phobias. Many of you requested one about the strange phobias or most rare phobias. We've honored your request and made a list. Let us know if you know someone who identifies with any of these. Also, do you enjoy this animation style?
Disclaimer: If you are suffering from a specific phobia of any kind, don’t hesitate to reach out to a mental healthcare professional today to help ease your fears and better manage your phobias.

@Marija Mila Blagojevic That sucks, Im sorry- Yeah people definitely need to learn to respect other peoples fears, some arent known or recongnized at all!
@Marija Mila Blagojevic I'm also scared of dancing, cause I never really practiced. I'm super clumsy and uncoordinated especially with my feet. I can only do really basic dances that don't require fluid movement. I'm also terrified of sports ;-;

I have Catoptrophobia. It’s just the uneasy feeling of seeing yourself. It’s like “That’s… me?” And it somehow looks so realistic I just kinda suspect it jumping out of the mirror and attacking me.
I always get spooked at my reflection moving like not the idea of it on its own but seeing it move with me and also I hate the idea of it moving on its own so
ya i know me too
its like when u r standing still it just looks like its moving or look diffrently at some point
When I was little, I had a fear of door knobs for a while at night time. At that time, I was scared of dolls and thought demons would come out near the closet combined with the door knobs.
i thought catoptrophobia was the fear of cats-
I'm 20 and since my childhood, the sky has always been scary to me and I always had nightmares about the earths gravity basically inverting. I have ever since been very afraid of scenarios like these and just being in a large open field like a football field has always made me nervous and anxious. I recently discovered there is an actual phobia for this called Casadastraphobia. Sounds weird but its something that has always been stuck to me since.
omg i had this phobia as a child!! it also correlated to the fear of mirrors featured in this video. granted, this was a short period of my life where I experienced this, but it still has some lingering remnants even to this day. i get anxious looking at the sky upside down, for example, especially in an open field.
It is only scary when your are on a tall surface and look up
I have that phobia too. I always wanted to be under a tree or a roof so I'd have something to grab on to. nowadays, it only really materializes if I'm staring directly up into the sky.
Oh...i love sky and water i love blue

I have a phobia of those automatic flushing toilets. It has gotten way worse than I possibly could've imagined. Now it's growing into paranoia of normal toilet flushers just becoming automatic while I'm going to the bathroom. I quite literally sit on the toilet and cover my ears while hyperventilating and trying to go to the bathroom while my whole body is tense. I came here as a final hope for a cure after I went to a public bathroom and had a mental breakdown, and started crying. I am desperate for help. I did overcome this and go on those toilets one time, but it's like it never happened. Something is wrong and I hope that someone here can help me out. I don't want to be afraid of public bathrooms anymore because of this. If any of you can help me, please give your advice. I will do anything to fix this.
I think U just have ADHD...dw i hate public toilets too

I have a massive phobia of public speaking and anything like that I start shaking and my stomach feels weird.
I have this weird fear which is a mix of iatrophobia, the fear of doctors, and ludophobia, the fear of games, where I am afraid of a specific game. Please don't try to guess it, because seeing or hearing the name triggers my phobia. I'm still horrified of it to this day, which is why I get incredibly anxious when I walk into a store with games in it. I am aware that the fear is irrational, but it haunts me.

I have allodoxaphonia and didn't even really know it, like when i was a kid i was really open and talked to everyone that i could see on the streets, but since i was 8 or something like that something has switched inside of me. If i need to ask someone for advice or help i just can't because i always think that the person that i ask the question then thinks that i'm weird. This is also a huge problem at school like if i forgot my homework at home or accidentally forgot to do it i'm just scared to go to school because i just think that then the teacher just thinks bad of me. I didn't even tell my parents about this because i'm scared of their opinion, like my dad has asked me so many times '' why are you not like your old self anymore?'' or ''why are you so different from your old self?''. And the problem is that i just can't tell them about my phobia because i'm just to scared to tell them.

Wow I learned so much!!
My cousin has fructophobia, this one time, his teacher told everyone to bring a fruit to school. He didn't bring it, the teacher had spare fruit, she was going to give it to him. He ran, ran to the back of the class, begging to not approach him with the fruit. Couple days later, he is ill.
I dont know if I'm allergic to fruit or scared of fruit..
Huh
The fact that you used the name fructophobia and not fruitophobia makes it look even more real. I’m not saying it’s false but yea. It sounds more scientific

As a person afraid of mirrors and reflective surfaces, I'm scared that when I look into the mirror, it won't look like me, or I I'll be distorted in some way, or that the mirror moves before I do or shows something that isn't even in the room. Everytime I see a mirror or reflective surface, I just try to ignore it because I'm scared if I look to deep, then I'll find an irregularity that will creep me out to death.
GIMME SOME HONAYY oh my god... this is comment perfect..
Same when I was younger I would NEVER sleep with my full body mirror facing me like normal but I would always turn it facing the wall and along my Tv... It was a while back so I had a big box like TV I don't know how to describe it but it was just big behind the screen. when I was younger I wasn't able to watch movies at night so I would always covered with a blanket. Because I was scared to the fact that if I look away something would be there in the reflection same goes for the mirror... But as I got older now 14 I'm still freaked out of mirrors/reflections and seeing something there that's not supposed to be there... but it's gotten better so yee never thought it was a phobia, just thought I was a scaredy cat and easily scared but anywho have a nice day to who ever reading this
^^💮
EO Same, this might sound stupid but there are some things or some place that ive wanted to go for a long time but i cant because of the stupid fear, i know it sounds stupid
I’m the complete opposite. I once spent an entire day just staring at the mirror. It was like I was in a trance I was so mesmerized it was fascinating to me for absolutely no reason at all XDD

Fun fact: looking at the mirror for long times or hours can make disturbing images in the mirror or scary reflections even in the dark.

I have catoptrophobia and i have a mirror in my room but thankfully it is pretty small but I am terrified to even walk past it. I think once I flipped it around so I couldn’t see into the mirror and I always feel like my reflection is gonna jump out of the mirror! My aunt had this but grew out of it and said I would too and I hope she is right..
I actually have Anchor phobia. I hate the wind and I never turn on the fan. I usually stay inside and life is a struggle. Life is even more of a struggle because I have allodoxaphobia, decidiophobia and catoptrphobia. It may seem fake but, I get scared when seeing myself in a mirror because I think it’ll come out and replace me. And with the decidiophobia it’s because i highly avoid and hate making decisions because I think I’ll make a bad choice. Finally with allodoxaphobia, whenever I hear/see someone’s opinion I try to hide from it because I’m not really sure.

You know, I kinda question our brains on this phobia. It's no one's fault they got it, but, you know, dancing is kinda just moving, just like walking or something. It's just in a rhythm. But you're doing that while walking too. So why does the brain create a phobia out of that?!🤔
I have catoptrophobia for a very weird reason….
Story: I was little and couldn’t sleep at night so I decided to play with a little mirror and act like it was a phone. After playing with it for a while I got bored and looked in it. But as I looked at the corner I saw a deformed me smiling and staring back at me over my shoulder. I looked and there was nothing but air when I turned around. I started crying and my dad came to check on me and I eventually fell asleep. Ever since I’ve been terrified and I actually got two phobias from that but one I didn’t know was developing over time. The fear was fear of empty spaces. I constantly look over my shoulder in fear of it ever since and I was only 7 or 8

I sort of have decidiophobia such as I can't really trust myself making decisions because in the future I might look down on myself but I'm not scared of making decisions so I wouldn't say I have it
i’m 12 and i’m pretty sure i have Ancraophobia. it’s the fear of wind. mine is a bit specific, though. i’m horrified of the wind blowing in trees. i’ve had multiple panic attacks about it and have skipped school on really windy days. me and my family live in the middle of a pine forest, which is horrible for me when it’s windy. whenever there are windstorms or thunderstorms i try and get in a spot in the house where i can’t see out any windows or the front door. when i was a lot younger i used to hide under the table. to make matters worse, around november last year, there was a really bad windstorm where we live. me and my family were watching Pearl, and the power went out. we got it back on and then like 20 minutes later we heard this huge BOOM. obviously we were unsettled. my mom got a text from either my uncle or grandma (they live on our property in a separate house), i can’t remember who, but the text said part of one of the trees outside their house crashed through the roof. like the upper half of the pine tree when crashing into the roof. i’m pretty sure the tree was dying. anyways, we went to look, and it was horrifying. in my uncle’s bedroom, the ceiling was torn through and the tip of the tree was literally a foot away from his bed, where he was laying. it could have killed him. we got the tree removed and the roof fixed. i’m not sure if my phobia has gotten worse or stayed the same, because it hasn’t been windy at all recently. you know how there are some things you’re scared of or that make you uncomfortable but you just can’t take your eyes off of it? that’s how it is for me. a couple of times when i’ve been with my sister and it’s gotten windy, she’s noticed me staring at the trees swaying and nudged me, telling me to look away. i also have a fear of grandfather clocks. not a phobia, just more of a skin crawly thing, no matter the setting. and don’t you dare mention stranger things. i’ve had the fear since i was like 6. i remember being a lot younger and staying at my grandpa’s old house that was huge. he had a grandfather clock you could hear through the entire house whenever it rang.
I’m scared of mirrors, that’s why there’s not a single mirror at home.
I’m scarred of looking at my reflection while alone and in the dark...
I know someone who is scared of mirrors as well!
I'm scared that when I look in mirror there's something horrifying behind me
So how do you do to check the way you look ? I'm curious 🤔

It’s in the description
I think Catoptrophobia (the mirror one) could also be caused by dreams. I watch a youtube channel of someone that talks about lucid dreams and he said in one video that dreams have a hard time to calculate how mirrors should behave and so they often show things like shapes, shadows, scary looking people etc... that are not really there in the dream world you're immersed in. He said that this can oftenly be scary and turn the dream in a nightmare. Looking in a mirror in a normal dream probably is rare though. But you can choose to do it in a lucid one and that's why he says to avoid doing it in your first times.

Unless I know that there is absolutely no wind. I will try to avoid looking out a window. Especially at night. Even when there are storms I feel really unsafe and if we are to have to go t9 the bathrooms at school due to a storm I will start to have a severe break down and I have not informed teachers even though I most likely should but that is mostly the stuff about my phobia. And also I am very uncomfortable around clear doors and just normal doors

*This helps!* 😊
I have 2 of these..Allodoxaphobia social anxiety has lead me to be afraid of people having an opinion about me even a good opinion can have me thinking that they will start thinking I’m a pick me so I usually avoid talking to people idk and also have very few friends and decidiophobia i usually depend on others to make decisions for me
I have the phobia of not having my phone around me because whenever I’m without my phone or technology, I feel scared alone and other things I sleep with my phone in my room all the time and it’s always charging and I never let it die. My phone hasn’t died ever since I was like nine I think there’s may be a phobia of fear of big objects. I always had a fear of big objects, my whole life like those big blob things that sometimes you see at the store for Halloween I was always scared of them. I never liked to go near them. If my parents make me go near them, I would try and run away or try to. I’m also scared of windmills and other things that are huge like I’m scared of the sand tower because I live around Canada in Ontario in one day. I visited Toronto with big buildings and they were scaring me a lot.

I have this phobia though..
I'm always afraid of making large decisions because I'm scared that I'll screw everything up and something terrible would happen
2:46 I don’t think I have this, but sometimes, i make a face that creeps me out so much I rush to wash my hands get out ASAP. But I do have trypophobia (the fear of many holes in one spot)
*Decidiophobia being rare*

Whenever somebody asks what I wanna do I always get scared and tell them to choose it instead. And whenever I wanna do something I think about it over and over again if I actually wanna do it even if it’s a simplest thing. Like, raising hands in class. But I can decide if I want to do something when it’s something by myself. Is this decidiophobia?
As a person with Eisoptrophobia/Catoptropphobia i have seen the superstition of bloody mary it was truly a horrific experience since im only 7.11 yrs old and now its my birthmonth but i am still terrified of the superstition i often avoid looking at the mirror its a very hard joirney
I missed Benkinersophobia, the fear of not receiving a letter of Hogwarts on your 11th birthday.
Omg lol
LOL
YES

I don't have the phobia but I really want Hogwarts letter when I become 11 next year
SAME
Theres a phobia called “Scholiphobia” (I think) it means you’re scared of school, Huh.
*_Don’t we all have that?_*
I'm not scared of school. But i am scared for ExAmS
We do and I'm actually on my stage 10000
I'm scared of school I absolutely hate it I can never focus and I'm scared of everyone that goes there I dont socialize most the time and I try to avoid the teachers and the students as much as I can I dont think I have a phobia though
@@lilliejones7007 yes i'm a introvert. i only like to see my friends
I'm sacred and hate achool
thank you soooooo much i actually have a fear of mirrors its just so weird
My fear that I am pretty sure it is not a phobia is black squares. This other gets me crying when lying in bed and having separation anxiety.
I feel like nomophobia is affecting a lot of teenagers like me. Maybe. Idk. I don't like my phone being taken from me, not because of social media, but I have a caring boyfriend who listens to me when no one else does. I'm also not allowed to see him yet, so my phone is the only way to be in touch with him. I really hate having my phone taken away, because my parents wouldn't be reliable people to me to talk to.
Truthfully, nomophobia is not going to be so rare one day..
Right? Growing up, I wasn't allowed to have friends. And when I finally was, nobody wanted to. So I leaned to social media to find friends who have the same interests as me. Not being able to talk to them because I got grounded really gets me panicking
Exactly, I stress when I think about my friends that I won’t be able to talk to. Or missing out on some news on twitter. I also panic a little if I agreed to do something the day before and totally forgot and now not being able to do it. If I didn’t open my phone for at least 4/5 hours I start stressing and getting dizzy
It's probably one of my phobias because it's one of my only ways of contacting my friends, who aren't able to go out and meet me especially during the quarantine. If I don't stay in contact with the people I love, I begin overthinking and think everyone hates me since they might feel like I'm ignoring them.
I'm don't like having my phone taken away because it's a good distraction for me. When I don't have my phone I don't have a source of entertainment, at night I have to listen to music or watch videos until I fall asleep to it. If I just lie in bed and close my eyes I get anxious and scared, as thoughts and questions just starts to echo in my head. I dont think its necessarily a phone it doesn't even have to be fun like studying I'd rather stress about exams and math then sleeping. I can't draw or even eat without my phone in hand I need to be listening to something or someone. It's stupid I know, but I'd go insane without gadgets
at first i thought Germophobia was a fear of Germans
Same
DA
LOL
@Pepper F. I'm offended :
How-
I actually probably have decidiophobia, I just CANT make decisions, my anxiety gets super high and if they continue to pressure me to answer I would cry.
That first phobia can't be rare, considering every Karen has it
Me: **Has an unpopular opinion**
Karen: That sounds like my worst nightmare
Lollll
Its not really the same
It said it included the fear of confrontation, discourse and debate, which sounds like the complete opposite of a "karen" opinions often come with aggression and conflict. Id personally rather just be ignorant to someone opinions than hear and cause debate, i hate arguments debates etc its hard to explain but Karen's often cause drama while the phobia will do anything to avoid it
@@MysticalAmberMC true. I try to avoid conflict as well, but I also enjoy hearing other people's opinions because it helps me see both sides of the argument.

(I have a phobia of Mirrors I ain't gonna explain how it feels)
When you realise you might actually have almost all of them-
I'd say that's lucky because they're rare but it's really not
@@PastelShark123 ikr TwT
These shouldent be "rare" lol
@@SolLikesStars true- 😂
@@SolLikesStars They aren't as rare as they think. They are actually pretty common in this day and age. Hell, even I am some of them!
I have decidiophobia and when I have to choose things I start crying and get anxiety and it's so irritating
I have a fear of mirrors, because when I was younger i got lost in a mirror maze and had to be helped out. I'm still traumatized from the event and have nightmares about being stuck in a place were all the walls are mirrors
