I watch this...I feel this....somehow I do not feel my feet touching the floor...my God we love and miss you Stevie ray Vaughn ....much love and respect from a fellow natural born Texan....I hope you are in heaven...we will be seeing you sonn...brother
My newly-wed wife and I were at that concert in Wisconsin...it was amazing! He was on a new path, cut short! To wonder how his music would have evolved! One thing's for sure... God knows!!
The next night following I was at the Minnesota State Fair for Bonnie Raitt and man was that something, she and Stevie were good friends, she said this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do and began to play her guitar, not a dry eye in the place ,she dedicated the night to him
The freedeom with which he playes his instrument is unseen and I have seen a lot. He masters the guitar at whole other level...i am quite speechless...woww...just wowwww
I know music. I know guitarists. Every time I listen to a SRV song, it’s like the first time. I can’t comprehend how any human can play like SRV. He is from another planet. He literally brings tears to my eyes he is so fucking righteous. Just listened to Superstition - I’m speechless.
Stevie was and is the guy who really turned the blue's back on for an entire generation...we all sure miss your genius Stevie...thanks for all the love you passed our way....🎸🎸🎸
Stevie carried the torch and Clifford Antone provided the foundation. I hope future generations will continue to have appreciation of how great Stevie was. This music was special as was Stevie.
Man, I miss SRV so much! I'm a drummer but a musician and I can tell he's at his prime here just by the way he plays. So flaccid, natural, and technically brilliant. Just a monster at this time and no telling how far he would have gone with his god-given talent. Not only that but at this show he couldn't have a better band backing him up and, especially the keyboardist, and he hadn't been with him the whole time. Kudos and shout out to my man Mr. Chris Layton. The best blues rock drummer with the most awesome groove ever.
Gratefully - I Heard Stevie & Double Trouble Live MANY Times - Both Before & After They All Got Sober! If I Had Been PRIVALEGED To Have Been Sitting In The Audience For This Taping - I Sure Would Have Been More Enthusiastic In My Appreciation For Stevie, For His Band & The Incredible Music They Made! I Know This Performance Was Taped For TV...But I Don't EVER Remember Sitting Down Listening To These Guys...You Just Couldn't! It Was SO Great To See & Hear These Guys After They Went Thru Their Respective Rehabs & Came Together Again - Even BETTER Than Ever! They Were Really Present & Enjoying Themselves Like I'd Never Seen Them! When I Saw Them Last Just A Few Weeks Before Stevie Left Us, & Being In 12-Step Recovery Myself, I Told Stevie How Proud I Was Of His Committment To His Sobriety & How He Was Sharing His Story With His Audiences! Stevie Had Also Recorded His Story - To Be Shared - In His Home AA Meeting On New Years Day Of 1990...➡️It Can Be Heard In Its Entirety, Told By Stevie Himself, On UA-cam...Search SRV Sobriety Story - WELL Worth Listening To! We Didn't Just Lose An Amazing Musician & Performer When Stevie Died - We Lost A Special, Good Man & He Is STILL Very Much Missed! Soul💞Soul, Stevie, Always!💗😘
Amen my brother. Hope your still sober , I'm 12 years sober never thought I'd make it out alive that's for sure . God Bless you brother. Stevie is Definitely jamming waiting for us all with open arms.

Only cool band I have to admit I didn't see back in the 80s. My brother had tickets at the Summit in Houston, but I couldn't go. I remember the day.. God Bless you, Stevie.
Stevie Ray Vaughan is in my top 10 list of my favorite guitarists. I do remember this. Also, I remember when he tragically passed away. I didn't see Stevie Ray Vaughan live, but I did see Jimmie Vaughan live and met him. May Stevie Ray Vaughan rest in peace. Cheers!
I saw Stevie and Jeff Beck back in '89. Still the greatest show I've ever been to. I don't even bother trying to compare other shows to them anymore. For I've truly been in the presence of greatness.
I am so unbelievably blessed to have seen him twice and the last time was about a month before he passed away I've literally seen no guitar player like him.. and all the concerts I've done and all the concerts I've gone to he absolutely was the best guitarist hands down
the pain that he brings thru his guitar just moves me to cry.... that raw unearthly sounds that he squeezes out it... its sad we lost him but having these videos makes remembering him easy.
I was 24 yr old and saddest day I closed the shop and I went home and stared at my strat strung just like my hero and cried that the soul that made all the days playing and the whole world happy was never going to strum again on earth 🌎 and I did get back to playing but not that guitar it's just as it was that day and my son will have it someday untouched in memory of the guitar God SRV ❤❤❤🫶✌️
Best blues guitarist I have ever had the pleasure of seeing in concert, live in the Cleveland flats a short time before his tragic death. I snuck up front near the stage and watched him up close and personal before being ushered away by security, twice. If I could re-live any of my concert experiences, I think this one would be at the top of my list!
The energy SRV put into his performing was huge. And he played brutally but with precision. Blues should be played this way. He reminds me to another largely missed player: Gary Moore. The year Steve died, both bluesmen were going to perform together 😢
Watched this very episode that night, as always with my mother rest her soul. I remember goosebumps and the hair standing up my spine watching him play. I was hooked from this night forward. I was 9.
Like clapton said it just flows out him never runs out as a player myself .It's so interesting see these master guitarist and their different styles of expression. Everyone has their own style .master guitar players rule
Rene' Martinez,5th-member of the band never misses a lick, either👍Worked in Dallas at the time of Stevie's passing. The complete city was mourning -- I literally saw people crying in cars at 4 way intersections with lights...no one was going anywhere. Dallas radio station playing in-sync,every vehicle. It was an absolutely awful day
Can’t say he’s gone his son sounds pretty awesome on the axe himself. Not saying he’s Stevie but hot dog he learned something for his daddy was a absolute honor to see Stevie in concert!! Play brother! Play!!!!!

SRV is a freaking God on the guitar, but let us not ever forget how tight this band is. JESUS that is freaking TIGHT!
Whipper and Tommy are like a one piece rhythm machine.
You said it, buddy.
Yes!!
That is known as "road hot!!!" 😀😀😀

That guitar change during Little Sister was amazing. Talk about a crazy good performer and kudos to the guitar tech for being Johnny-on-the-spot!
Amen
Still one of my all time favorite rockstar moments.
Every time I think about the fact that I caught 3 shows, I feel like the luckiest man alive. SRV and Double Trouble, what a musical show piece.
Indeed
Imagine what it was like living on his street. Neighbors sat with lawn chairs and drinks while they rehearsed.
I saw the Newport Jazz fest when the crowd rushed the stage. I saw UMASS Concert Hall. We are fortunate for sure.
Man I'm 41 and so damn jealous.
Lucky man, he's my top 3 and wish I had the opportunity

Dube was from another planet. Best live version of “Superstition” online.Just incredible,.
Every song by SRV was a duet between him and the guitar. Good lord I wish he'd had more time.

I like the way he switches his SRV strat out for the white one after breaking a string and he doesn't even miss a note. Awesome!
it was all so natural to him....he ruled the guitar and it did exactly what he wanted.
