Brian Johnson why be a douchebag? Are you truly that unhappy with yourself and life that you find it necessary to sit there and pitifully attempt to tear random people down?
Age is just a number. As far as I'm concerned I'm still 27. You're the age you feel or, as Mae West said, you're only as old as the youth you feel '. Now where are those young men!
I saw George at SUNY Geneseo back about this time in the early 80s, I am not sure of the exact date... but this motoring basic rock and roll was about as much fking fun as we can handle back then - without being obnoxious to others just freaking having good fun enjoying our youth. NO reserves and no crap and no fking wars we were the kids of the late seventies that just loved having fun without any preconceived thoughts of the bloody fking status quo MATRIX affecting us. It was the true eye of the storm.
George Thorogood is one of the hardest-workin' men in show bidniz, and also a world-class frontman. He could go toe-to-toe with any of the truly great, because he is. Rock on, Mr. Thorogood.
would like to have seen him get bigger than he did although he did have a few songs that got around. The reality though is that most people born in the last 20+ years don't even know those songs.
Love these blues. One of the greatest R & R songs of all time. "My old lady kinda funny" "Now you finda funny too." Maybe one of the best lines of all time. Thanks.
One of the times I saw him in the 70s was at a bar in New Haven CT. That night there was a snow storm. He showed up. Only about 100 people showed up. George played like thousands were there. Awesome freaking show..
True Story I was at a bar in Springfield Illinois and some dude pulled up on a Motorcycle and came in ,had a cigar in his mouth, ordered a shot and went to the jukebox and played Bad to the bone , played a game of pool, and left, Looked just like George.
@@alexjimenez2066 the only one not playing is George. he's just shit talking, promoting two beer companies (compensated?) and vamping for ten minutes. after listening to this track forever: truly disappointed.
The first time I saw George was in 1979 or 80 at the Harvard Square Theater. It was his second show of the night. We literally had front row seats in this modest sized cool of theater. It was August and hot as balls. I don't know if the theater didn't have A/C or it was broken but George just sweated his ass of and blew the freaking doors off the place for two freaking hours and it was just amazing!!! I was a year or two out of high school. I've seen hundreds of great shows with great rock and boys artists and I can only think of a few shows as good as that one was and don't think I can say I've seen one better!! All my love to my best buddies Gus and Gary who enjoyed this melt down and thousands of hours of listening to fabulous music together!!
It was decades ago - I watched George play close up at John and Peters Place, a very small bar in New Hope PA, dozens of times. George would drive with the band all the up to New Hope from Delaware long before he became famous. When I moved to California I thought that I would never see him again. 20 years later he opened for the Rolling Stones in San Diego. George was always very warm, greeted me like a good friend and demonstrated humility and generosity of spirit. I sensed that he would make it big someday.
That’s what I like about a classic. It touches your heart & soul with a Real Story coupled with Fantastic music.! Long live Throughgood he’s one of the greats!
i saw him with my brother when i was 20 and again last year now im 58 with my son and his wife ... george still kicks it mad... my son said thats the voice ive heard since i was little and he couldnt believe he hear and saw bad to the bone
Dude was a natural talent. He was a great ball player on a minor league team when he decided to become a musician. When I was in the Marines we used to drink hard to George, great memories.
I like that about old school rock, they wrote some of the best music without using heavy distortion, etc. They just plugged in and played, and cranked the amp if they needed overdrive. While I do like distortion, nothing compares to power tube overdrive.
I am right outside of Philadelphia. This live concert in New Jersey featuring George Therogood and the Delaware destroyers playing one Bourbon one Scotch and one beer is the best and unforgettable. I loved it 💪❤️😍💪❤️😍
The Galaxy was smoking back then...Delaware County, Philly, South Jersey and Delaware had some great clubs for watching local talent. Loved the Trocadero too
For the life of me, I’ll never comprehend🤔 why anyone (let alone 5K) would click👎 to this awesome piece of music. Thanks so much for letting us enjoy it☺️.
This is it. Been wandering through UA-cam looking for the best live hd video of this tune. Elvin Bishop takes this song to a whole different level, one of the great Bluesmen going way back. He’s still out there at 82yo rocking the blues.
One thing I appreciated about George he always did his research about local beers. Saw him in Sydney Australia and he was singing about beers and nightspots like a local. Plays Brisbane two days later, and is equally an expert there.
I was never really into Thorogood’s music, except for what I heard on the radio. But as I watch and listen to some of these videos, one can see the is an extraordinary showman. That in itself will have me purchasing some of his music in the future. Good stuff! Love. It.
I was lucky enough to see George at a small place called The Grocery in Portland, Oregon. Just dropped a tab of acid and was 5 feet from the speakers. So sublime, yet ridiculously loud. This was back in the late 70s. Just sat there .. and listened. Damn.. he was good!
Just saw him live, 73 years old and still kicks ass. Such an amazing show!!

almost 10 yrs sober here, i still rock
One of my faves as well! I am 14 years sober.
geosutube Congrats.
not sober and im not alcoholic. take it ez man, all in moderation
Brian Johnson why be a douchebag? Are you truly that unhappy with yourself and life that you find it necessary to sit there and pitifully attempt to tear random people down?
I just checked... George will be 71 yrs young this Feb 24!! Damn!! I bet he still can rock!!

Age is just a number. As far as I'm concerned I'm still 27. You're the age you feel or, as Mae West said, you're only as old as the youth you feel '. Now where are those young men!
I think every bar or club should keep this song ready.
I am 74. Have always loved George. This song is one of my favorites of his.
You're lucky 😅

You can say that again, adulations
Only George Thorogood and Bon Scott can make being an alcoholic sound amazing.

I really love Elvin Bishop's guitar breaks! I can still feel the energy of this song everytime I replay it. I just wish my phone had more volume!

Throw James Brown and Tina Turner up there with him that be a 3-way awesome show
NEXT TO RUSH
Vastly underrated as a frontman
she's a bad mama jama
Love these blues. One of the greatest R & R songs of all time. "My old lady kinda funny" "Now you finda funny too." Maybe one of the best lines of all time. Thanks.
81 and still rocking with George !!@
Mick Jagger just celebrated his 81st man - time flies!!
And I know ya don't mean rocking chair!!! Yes! Long live old folks!!!!
Take everything but leave my ears .
One of the times I saw him in the 70s was at a bar in New Haven CT. That night there was a snow storm. He showed up. Only about 100 people showed up. George played like thousands were there. Awesome freaking show..
Awesome story!!
True Story I was at a bar in Springfield Illinois and some dude pulled up on a Motorcycle and came in ,had a cigar in his mouth, ordered a shot and went to the jukebox and played Bad to the bone , played a game of pool, and left, Looked just like George.
If you drink..you know...all the world is there. Sooo, you have to do your job...

Your right 1000%, back then, they play, sing, and had a hell of a good time doing it.

Doesn't have a million distortion pedals in front of him, plays the whole concert with 2 guitars and STILL sounds awesome
and drums!
I like that about old school rock, they wrote some of the best music without using heavy distortion, etc. They just plugged in and played, and cranked the amp if they needed overdrive. While I do like distortion, nothing compares to power tube overdrive.
Blu Murder people with real talent don't need all that crap. Straight ahead, pedal to the metal blues-rock trumps twiddly/diddly poser rock.
Throw in there a tasteful sax anytime..
They didnt need distortion thats when musicians were real and played their own freaking instruments
Have seen him do this song live 4 times and it is never the same, great everytime.

I was lucky enough to see George at a small place called The Grocery in Portland, Oregon. Just dropped a tab of acid and was 5 feet from the speakers. So sublime, yet ridiculously loud. This was back in the late 70s. Just sat there .. and listened. Damn.. he was good!
