  • If your 350z cranks and cranks but won't turn over and your dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree, you might need a new camshaft position sensor! This video will show you how to diagnose a bad sensor and how to replace bank 1 sensor A.

    Do you still have your 350z? How's it holding up? I have a 2003 with a P0345 code on, I replaced both camshafts and a crankshaft (just in case) and I'm still getting the codes but I did use aftermarket sensors ( also from A1 auto😅) so I don't know if that's the reason why.
    Also I have a knock sensor error code also and my mechanic replaced it but the code is still on :(

    • @Zspeed
      @Zspeed  4 роки тому +2

      Yes I still have my 350Z and it's running like a champ! I see you got all three sensors from A1 auto right? You're going to need to purchase both camshaft position sensors from Z1 motorsports and replaced them. Then replace your stock crankshaft position sensor back in your Z. Now, you'll need to clear all your codes. This should fix your problem, the 1A auto sensors are just junk! I believe your knock sensor keeps going off because of the bad camshaft position sensors. I hope this helps, let me know if it worked and thank you for watching my video!

      @@Zspeed thanks I'll report back when I install the ones from Z motorsport, and I got the crankshaft one from O Riley's , but I'll put the stock one back
      Also did you end up fixing your Knock Sensor??

    • @Zspeed
      @Zspeed  4 роки тому +2

      The problem with the knock sensor is because of the bad camshaft position sensor's, they aren't working correctly so it triggers the knock sensor. Once you replace the camshaft position sensor's your knock sensor problems should go away, theoretically!

    Im confused on these engines, My Z is an 04' as well, my sensors are in the same spots, fine, but I also have an 01' Pathfinder and the sensors appear to be in the front of the engine and Im not seeing any in the back of the engine. The engine in my Pathfinder doesnt look like the same as my 350Z but they are both supposed to be VQ35 DE's. I saw other videos and they said the DE REV up engine has them in the front and the back so Im thinking the Pathfinder has the shitty engine but like I said I cant see any Cam sensors in the rear of the engine, any feed back is appreciated thank you for the video

    hello, p0300 random missfire could be a bad cam shaft sensor?

    • @Zspeed
      @Zspeed  3 роки тому +1

      Nissan code P0300 indicates that one or more cylinders are experiencing misfires. A misfire occurs when an insufficient amount of fuel is burning in a cylinder. A misfire from one or more cylinders can be caused by many reasons from a faulty ignition system, fuel system or internal engine failure. That being said, when was the late time you changed your spark plugs and coil packs? More likely a bad coil pack than a camshaft sensor, a bad cam sensor is more likely to cause the engine to die while idling or have problems just staring! Hope this helps, sorry it to so long to get back to you, thanks so much for watching!

    Hey man, ive read that the reason these sensors go bad is that some left over flux ends up ruining the solder joint inside the sensor and burns it up. It also said this was mainly a 2003 to 2004 issue upon deep research. My car has 175,000 on it with the ORIGINAL sensors and its an 07 coupe g35. So are my findings correct that this isnt that common for say 05 to 07 ? i have the later model 07. I dont wanna break down or be stranded but ive heard so much about it but the info i just sent shows me otherwise. I also dont burn any oil and i read about this a lot. My car had 3 previous owners too. What do you think? dont fix it if it aint broke? 175k is A LOT of miles but the car runs like a dream and i did update all fluids and thermostat, radiator cap, pcv valve, as i had a slight overheating issue then idle issue but all is resolved. Blah blah should i change my cam and crank sensors? Shit its even running original oem 02 sensors.

    • @Zspeed
      @Zspeed  5 місяців тому +2

      Go ahead and purchase OEM sensors at your leisure, when they finally do fail, then swap them out! Your right, don't fix it if it isn't broken!!!👍🏁

    I just changed out both cam sensors and the driver's side is actually easier to do. It's a blind job, I did it all by feel with a 10mm wrench from the passenger side while leaning across the engine...took me about 5 min. The passenger side sensor is a bitch with that wire harness in the way. All in all, wasn't too bad, just a knuckle buster job and it frustrating dropping tools.

      Try changing camshaft sensor A, B and also the crankshaft position sensor together. I know it's a bit pricey, but these sensors often fail in tandem. I am leaving a link to a video on how to replace sensor B and the crankshaft position sensor! ua-cam.com/video/n_X2BYvY4ks/v-deo.html

      @@Zspeed yeah its still bricked at the moment its drives fine but take a while to start and i still have the p0345 code, i bought the hitachi sensors for both sides, but only get the code for the drivers side, at this point i think it might be the connector, so i might try to replace that to see if it works, if you have any other solutions let me know, please and thank you.

    Strange my car has been giving me trouble with codes. Bank 1 o2 sensors low voltage and now intake valve solenoid and bank 2 cam sensor codes wont go away. o2 were replaced with denso sensors and nothing. Cam sensor was replaced with oem and I still have the code. Solenoid is aftermarket but still have the codes. Even with the codes the car still runs fine. No limp mode or any other lights like yours just the check engine light.
