Just replaced the harness on my son’s 04 G35 using your method. Worked like magic. Glad I found your video and didn’t need to remove any of the engine components.
Awesome, so glad it worked for you too!!🏁👍
very nice and thorough step by step guide. I'm sure this video will be sought after for years to come.
Thank you so much for watching!!
Your video was very helpful, especially in showing the lower part (that was the hard part for me). The upper was as easy as you described. Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!!👍💯🏁
Car is rad definitely loving the channel vibes 🥂🔥🔥
Thank you so much for watching!
you guys are brave....
Very nice!
I love this guy
Thanks so much for watching 🏁💯👍.
Great content!
why do all you people talk about nonsence get to the fuckin repair damn no 1 gives a shit where you bought it or the temp it can \take
Thanks so much for the guide! My harness was chewed by rodent and I got P0328 code. Your video inspired me and I successfully removed the connector using a slightly modified metal rod (to push down the tab of the connector that connects to the sensor) and a long plier (to pull the connector out).
At 14:39 I inserted the small screwdriver from the other direction to disengage the clipper and it worked.
So glad this video helped you out!!!🏁💯👍
Omg this looks like even harder than removing the intake lol
Either way, good vid! Thanks
It might be harder!!
Thank you for the time and attention you put into this video, finally decided to change out my harness after one of my mechanics changed out the knock sensor rather than changing out both which i wanted done and said the harness was fine but some time later said the looks can be deceiving even though he apparently said he tested the harness voltage, which the knock sensor turned out not to be the problem, rather than pay out the ass for more labour i'm gonna try change it out this way, just waiting on a harness from amazon at the moment by the way which is steel braided, half the price of the harness from other manufacturers, hope it doesn't let me down, cheers.
If you have any questions during your install, just let me know!
hey how did the amazon harness hold up?
@@mrko.3068 it held up great, no issues, it fixed my engine problem and ran great.
@@TuckerSG do you have a link? and did you heat wrap it or was it fine
You can grab one for Z1 motorsports and you don't have to heat wrap it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video fashioned the rod of steel as you suggested. My wires were chewed off at the connection so I had to hook the blue plug and finally got it secured. Initially, when I looked through the access hole, i could not see the plug or the knock sensor. As I moved away to get a better perspective, it became aware that the entire open area was filled with rat stuff. it took several hours to vacuum, pluck and wash the cavern. Finally I was able to see the wire harness and plug-completely chewed off. It took a while but using your notched device and a hanger I finally got the dark blue plug to release. Thank you. (Can you sense the joy in my voice?)
So glad this technique worked for you and thanks so much for watching!!!
@@Zspeed The lower clip removal and replacement was not so easy for me. I was unable to get two hands from the bottom to grasp the two parts of the plug. I ended up cutting the wires on the sensor harness which I was replacing anyway. Using some surgical surplus clamps I finally got the plug apart. I still was struggling to get the new harness plugged into the computer plug. I finally lifted the car side plug up into the engine compartment by the passenger side firewall and got the plug assembled. I just wire tied the plug up in the engine compartment. Not perfect but my knock sensor fault has cleared. Thank you for the help.
This channel has been so helpful for my car! Do you think I could get away with replacing the harness by removing the sensor itself with extensions and then removing the harness after it’s out to avoid using other tools?
I was hoping someone would try removing the knock sensor, it might be a little tricky with the knock sensor harness attached. Just make sure your socket fits nice and tight on the bolt, before you try to brake it loose! And thanks so much for watching!👍🏁💯
@@Zspeed I can’t brake the bolt is it a 12mm or what I tried 10 mm 11mm 13 mm the 12 goes on it but will not turn to brake bolt I’m frustrated I have extended brakes bar with 12 mm socket it will not turn to brake
Keenan, yes it is a 12 mm bolt. Now I have never broken this bolt lose using this method, you my need to spray it with some PB blaster. You may not have enough torque using the extensions! But I thought it might be worth trying this method. Worst case scenario you can remove the plenum to get to the bolt 🔩 ! Hope this helps and thanks so much for watching!!
I don’t have the tools to make a rod like that to be able to un clip the harness. What else can I use?
Remove your plenum and do it the old fashion way and thanks so much for watching!!
Need help!!! My 350z has trouble turning on only when it’s hot or after a long ride, any ideas on what it could be ? Maybe a answer
People with this same issue have reported that replacing the fuel pump resolved their problems!! Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
for the light blue part, i’m having trouble disconnecting it. i don’t feel a tab. just a sheet of metal on top of it. can you help ?
Watch the video very carefully, I go over this procedure in depth!
@@Zspeed yea i was just being dumb. i found the tab on the connector. thank you for the response though !
Just bought a 2003 350z and had the p0327 code and definitely going to try this way first!!
Did it work out for you? I’m thinking about doing it to my g35
Worked out great, video coming out soon!!!
Ima try this on my g35!
Thanks so much for watching!
Are you in mobile? I noticed the Alabama tag and what looked like the Bankhead tunnel
Birmingham area, but I love Mobile!!!
Hello, I have a malfunction in my Nissan z350, and no one has been able to fix it. The car does not exceed 2RBM. I want to send you a video of the car problem. How much is that possible, please?

Send video to zspeed2561@gmail.com! Thanks!
Wait what would happen if I didn’t disconnect the battery? Cause I changed my camshaft sensors without disconnecting the battery on my g35 8:07
You my get a U1000 code, no big deal, just clear all codes after your done, if you have any!
@@Zspeed So I ran into an issue where it’s literally impossible to remove the tape from the harness, so would it be okay to just cut the harness in half & take it out from both ends
Great 👍 idea 💡, and thanks so much for watching!!!
350z DE versions just have one knock sensor and wire harness right ?
That's correct!🏁👍
Where did you get the part from
Z1 Motorsports, thanks so much for watching!
How long did this take you ?
Great video.
If everything goes smoothly, between 3-5 hours! Give yourself the whole afternoon, so you can take your time!! Thanks so much for watching!
@@Zspeed I really enjoy your videos and I commend your attempt doing this DNALI's way. But if you would have relieved fuel pressure, removed air intake/plenum/fuel rails/intake manifold... this would have taken you 2 hours round trip max. None-the-less, great detailed video for this method.
Thanks so much for watching! 👍🏁💯
Did the car feel faster, after the harness installed
Yes, it definitely had increased throttle response and no lagging on acceleration!
Thanks so much for watching!
How long is the rod?
About 26 to 27 inches long!!, thanks for watching!
Where in Alabama are you located?
Hueytown AL! What area are you from brother, thanks so much for watching!!
is there only 1 knock sensor?
Yes, just one!
Why did you change the harness and not the sensor,?
Sensor was still good, but the harness went bad!!
@@Zspeed check engine light?
Alright shes gone come on oll need your help
