I swear on everything this caller could have been me. I’m so grateful for this call. I’m literally in this exact position, minus having additional children. But I’m in this exact same position and worry about my son too. Thanks for posting this
Prior to Covid, I traveled up to 75% for my job. My husband and I tend to pick a TV series we reserve to watch episodes while I travel and we do exactly what you suggested, throw each other on facetime and try to time pushing the start button at the same time. Keeps us connected and something to talk about during the next day apart.
The 1st mom didn't care about his well-being before deciding to form a new family after abandoning him (if only for a season); therefore, she feels guilty... as she should.
Absolutely! I feel for this kid and hopefully the mother seeks additional therapy and his father continues to provide a stable second home as well. The kid is normal now but once he reaches his teen years he'll realize how broken his mother is/was if she moves on from her past.
I haven't listened to the whole call, but I see that she does care even though she left before. I've seen many parents get their kids taken away and flat out don't try to get them back, or get them just to mess up again. She's actually trying and I think that makes all the difference!
She got in the first relationship based on wishful thinking. The fairy tale failed her: you get postpartum depression and other things and you must learn how to cope and grow up..
@@Trackpad12 - LOL, it literally felt like they cleared out an extra broom closet and wedged a desk in there (just barely). I love John D. Glad to see him getting some better digs.
I like the new set but I like the old set better. It felt more authentic 🤷♀️ this set feels like they just replaced the Dave Ramsey logo and put Dr D's logo.
In real life we only remember a handful of birthdays other than the people we live with. I wouldn't take it personal if someone doesn't remember my birthday unless they are a very close friend or family member. It happens.
The discussion regarding appropriate depression communication was amazing. I’ll be revisiting this to help council my children through isolating remote learning.
Many parents homeschool and have healthy schooling experiences. Schooling from home can be a culture shock, but it transitions the focus from friend oriented distant parent learning to parent oriented distant friend learning.
Dr. John, born in the first week of the year does bring with it that people might forget your day. My Niece was born 01/01/2001 and I can't remember! It really helped me that you said, you are used to it and don't have any expectation. Hope the Sugarfree month was a blast. Eating healthy also means that you can only have 3 sweet fruits and not graze on Mango, Pineapples and Grapes all day long. Eating green leafes that are a little bitter help me a lot.
The poor nine year old. His mom basically abandoned him. He will always question why she didn’t stay with him but has stayed with his siblings. Postpartum or not.
I was thinking that too. If I believed that postpartum depression made me leave my child and let someone else raise him, I don’t know that I could even bring myself to continue having children.
I feel like she is projecting her feels onto her son. She feels if she was in his shoes, this is how he would feel, and so can't understand why he isn't showing it.
She blames post-partum on all her problems. Typical "victim" mentality. She cannot admit she did anything wrong leaving her family and shacking up with a new guy and making a new family to replace her old one.
She didn’t do anything wrong. She made the courageous and honest choice. If you listened to the call you’d know that she left because she was sick and her husband moved on first. It was the right choice for everyone involved.
My birthday is the end of December, so I can start the new year fresh every time! I don’t have to wait seven days or whatever. It’s kind of nice. Except that my birthday is in the middle of a holiday season, meaning that absolutely NOBODY pays attention to it! Except sometimes, my brother - his birthday is also right in the middle of the holiday season, a few days before mine, so he gets it.
4:35 That's not a red flag. The kid knew that crying with mom meant he got his way and crying wouldn't mean he gets his way with dad and step-mom. Kids aren't dumb. One kid I nanny for will ask me for what he wants, but when mom and dad get home he whines and will stomp his feet to get what he wants. I expect him to ask for things, and if I say no I explain why. His parents will do what he wants if he whines, so he does that to them
I so loved your comment about Facebook birthdays! I did that as an experiment this year. I took my birthday off from being visible to all my Facebook "friends" and never heard from the people I thought I was the closest to.
how did she get remarried? if a woman told me she bounced on her kid and left his dad with a newborn i would tell the waiter "box my food up and give her the bill"
I don't know what her ex-husband was like but he was a way better parent than she was. She should be praising him to the sky for stepping up when she stepped out.
I get getting postpartum depression and her needing help. I get her wanting to leave her husband if he was contributing to her poor mental health. But she abandoned her newborn baby for years. You don't do that. She has to apologize to her son and let him know she should have returned as soon as her mental health was better. Seems she is blaming the postpardom depression instead taking ownership of the terrible mistake she made of leaving her baby and not coming back for years.
I'm currently pregnant and have gestational diabetes... So I'm in for the sugar challenge! 🤣 I'm gonna cut it two days short though, cause baby is arriving on the 5th and I'm having sweets to celebrate! 🤣
First person: “he’s acting completely normal” also: “he asks why did you leave me? All the time” girl take ownership for a very selfish choice whether postpartum or not 🤦🏽♀️
I want to know what Rachel meant by *"STRICT"* from the step mother. *Yelling* ? *Hitting* ? *Spanking* ? *Singled out and being labeled as THE STEP CHILD* . Just curious.
I’m no social media genius, but these titles are getting ridiculous. Plus, the whole show isn’t about just that one topic. Y’all would probably do better typing out all the topics of each show in the title of the show. It would probably increase your search results. Also, time stamps would help, because some of us aren’t interested in all the topics.

I totally agree. She should feel terribly guilty. Don't know why she's pretending to care by calling in

If you have never dealt with severe PP depression you wouldn’t understand. It may have been the best thing for her child.
Oh wow, look who finally got a nice set and moved out of the cramped closet with a desk jammed in there. Glad to see it John.
It felt more intimate to me. Idk i liked it.

Happy Birthday Dr D. Once I deactivated my Facebook about 10 years ago, I realised how little people actually cared about my birthday 🤷♀️🤷♂️
Happy Birthday Dr D
😂 On Facebook we feel like celebrities on our birthdays right lol

Happy birthday Dr.Delony! You are a great asset to the Ramsey team
This women from first call should be grateful that her first born is all good! That all! It look like She feels guilty!!!!
I *need* reminders! Doesn't mean that I don't care about them or even don't have a close relationship with them! Just how my brain (doesn't) work!
👍
Love how the first lady seemed to really hear him and took the advice.

Wow Dr d hit it on the head with the work travel issue.

That was GREAT advice for the first caller.

Ouch I should try this lol.
Soooo glad 😃 you have you new set! You’ve earned it! Love your show!!

This lady has never acknowledged that she abandoned her child.

I thought divorce wasn’t on the table. It was never even on my radar. Until it was proposed. Because people can change their minds.
Happy Birthday Dr. D wishing you a blessed day!
My present to myself on my birthday was taking the day off work.
Just listening to this today and we share a birthday 🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE the idea of starting healthy habit challenges on January 7th

Pushing record and play at the same time and recording on a blank cassette 😂 Classic!
Wish you'd do more stuff on raising teen girls, we struggling over here
YES! There is no 'a' on the end of Missouri! 😀

You really messed up this kid. After 9 years, you're finally figuring this out???
Happy birthday! It's also my husband's birthday.
Not everyone remembers birthdays.
Happy Birthday!!!! 🍾🎁🎉❤

She certainly didn't see to have any post-partum issues with the new kids with the new husband...
She wanted FRRREEEEDOMMMM!!!!!!!
If you want freedom then you don't get a baby. When it's here you deal with it.
Happy birthday to you and to me.
Does Dr John use the laptop or is it there as a prop?
Happy birthday Dr. D!!!✨🎉🎂🎁
Happy Birthday!
