- Yes, it's true. The Xbox One GPU has been overclocked 914MHz. So what does this mean for gaming? Do we see higher frame-rates? Rich investigates. NOTE: Microsoft has now confirmed to us that the CPU remains at 1.75GHz.

Could you test Halo 5 on the new Xbox One? The game uses that dynamic reolutioin stuff, would be interesting to see, whether there are graphical differences.
Halo 5 already runs at a consistent 60fps. Nothing to test there IMO

Except Halo 5 drops resolution to keep the 60fps, so it would be interesting to test how the image quality is improved by the S

Would be interesting to see you redoing benchmarks where xbox was lagging behind the ps4 to see how it has affected the performance gap. I also wonder if it is going to affect resolution scaling in games that adjusts that on the fly or how close the frame rate will be in the game that runs at identical resolution.

+Ian Kennedy It was never meant for that as then the game developers that don't use dynamic resolutions then they will have to optimize the game for two Xbox games consoles and with the arrival of Scorpio three different sku's.
Syhthetic Only games that are cpu intensive will have a higher fps count than the ps4 counter part. Ps4 version of the same game still likely had a higher resolution too.

I will probably wait until Xbox Scorpio depending on price. If I see something like $600 or so, then no, I will trade in my XB1 for the 1 S at $300, I already have Seagate's hybrid SSD so no need for the larger storage options. .
both games are cpu limited, so they will be no difference between ONE and S, since it has only a noticeable gpu and RAM boost. The cpu is basically the same performance-wise.
TheHidalgo99 You have a point, but I think areas in ACU with less dense population the GPU boost could be put to good use. Home Front like ACU makes sense performance might be limited by the CPU outdoors, but damn Home Front struggles during alpha effects indoors, or medium size areas as well which I think the boost could help out, just like Hitman.
What about games that have dynamic resolution. I know they are few games that have this. try to see what it can do to a 4k tv

I think in future videos comparing graphical quality you should upload the video in 4k, as that allows for a higher bitrate and more detail, even if the captured footage is only 1080p. This will allow us, the viewer, and better look at graphic comparisons.

The ps4 is able to play games at 1080p .....a slim ps4 would still be able to play games at 1080p too.
Depends on the game... It is certainly going to make a difference in the feel of batman arkham knight. And in games that drop just a few frames from 30 or 60fps it could mean the difference from having a smooth locked frame rate compared to random drops with latency spikes.
well in project cars there was near 60 where orinal was stuck in 40s, i say it makes quite diffrence enouth to make origibal XBOne plumit in sells. But i dont think it is worth to replace, or else you some hardware upgrade fanatic like in phone market

The GTX 970 is the most popular SINGLE GPU. There are TONS of others. All that means it's it's the one that is used most. Far more people use Intel HD Graphics than the GTX 970, but the different variations are named separately so TECHNICALLY it's not the most popular single GPU. More people also use AMD integrated graphics than the GTX 970. Far more people also use low end GPUs, but again they are of varying models not one individual card. That is a horrible selling point. Most PC gamers don't play at 1080p 60fps maxed settings like PC elitists like to say. The large majority are casuals. Consoles have been running at 30fps for decades, and many of the best games used to even run at 20fps. It's all about frame timing, not FPS. 60fps with stuttering frame timing feels like total crap compared to 30fps with consistent frame times.
I have steam on my laptop to check my messages, but I don't play games there. I bet many do the same. Which is why the most popular CPU is a ULV Dual core, a CPU found in Ultrabooks.

I know man, after hours of playing Fallout 4 i turned to 'smooth/normal running game' and noticed how much impact framerate/bugs can have on the enjoyment of a game. Finished the Fallout 4 but i am not going back to that torment.

And the framerate is tied to the physics engine like with Batman Arkham Knight. Arkham Knight feels like garbage when playing it.

30 and 40 is playable. 60 is the sweetspot. but if your system couldnt handle 60 fps, and you have to sacrifice graphical settings to get that point, i rather enjoy a lock and steady 30 fps with good looking graphics any day.

I'd love to see you guys test Titanfall. 60fps target, and lots of screen tearing on the console's original model. Obviously it'll be difficult to get like-for-like footage, but I think it'd be a very worthy test.

Haha! My old 2008 pc crushes this new xbone! 8gb ram,E5450 xeon with 12mb cache @ 3.6ghz,and a strix r9380 4gb oc edition,the whole mod cost me 700$,but im rocking games at 1440p usually over 60 fps.Thats significantly higher then these consoles.On a 9 year old pc.

Anant that was in like 2009 lol. PC can do 120fps especially in 1080p no problems. If your monitor has the refresh rate it can display 120FPS. But even if it cannot display if I turn off vsync on GTA 4 my GTX 1080 goes over 200fps consistently. Nice try though.

I can play many games above 100FPS on my Benq xl2430t 144hz and a decently high end pc (in a silent case).
If you are willing to spend a large amount of money / can afford to, then you can buy a GTX 1080 with 6600k and max every single game at 120fps 1080p... However this alone will cost around £1100 without the CPU cooler, ram, SSD, PSU, Motherboard and is obviously enthusiast grade stuff..
