Perhaps the biggest surprise is that this is genuinely a more powerful console. We weren't expecting any performance gains in our existing, non-HDR Xbox One games, but it turns out games like Project CARS actually run more smoothly on the new machine.
Not quite the pointless stop gap before Project Scorpio we worried it might be? It sort of depends how able you are to buy one and still save up substantial amounts of money for Scorpio's arrival in late 2017.

+StateWaffles the Scorpio is said to have 6.5 (I think) tflops of power, right now I can get a 980ti for $400 which has roughly that much power if not more and the card is a year old and started at nearly $800, so by the time the Scorpio actually comes out I'll be able to buy a better card than it has by 2x for roughly $300, which is how much I recently spent on 6 tflops worth of graphics horsepower

Everyone hating the original XBOX ONE but I actually like it. Black is better than white with consoles, touch power button us better the physical button (looks more futuristic) and the size means nothing to me, it's about the same size as my cable box and my ONE sits atop it.

It comes with the 2 terabyte Xbox one s and some special edition Xbox one s. The 2 terabyte Xbox one s is now discontinued by Microsoft and is replaced by the cheaper 1 terabyte Xbox one s. It sucks that it doesn't come with a stand unless you buy their premium special edition Xbox one s's. Same with the Xbox one X. The stand came with Xbox one X Scorpio editon and special editions but not with the regular Xbox one s and Xbox one X. I know it sucks but it's the way life is.

360 only lasted 8 years because when they were made they had powerful parts the Xbox one and ps4 are both low end
But they had 3 different slim versions of that Xbox, so their timeline isn't actually too far off. If you don't want to buy this new Xbox because you just bought one then don't. The one you have will continue to work fine

I bought a xbones battlefield one edition 1tb. Has a stand with it. Not sure why you say only a 2tb one has them. Love our PS4 but with the cyber Monday prices I couldn't pass this deal up. $249 battlefield one special edition 1tb with stand. Pretty good deal if I do say so myself

PC gamers do have an advantage over games deal with it, yeah a lot of people in the PC community are shit heads who think they're superior, but just because of that you can't say that we have best of the best graphics in 'a 2d game or a shitty shooter' battlefield 1 has an amazing engine that can only reach full potential on a PC, good graphics are nice to look at, higher frame rates allow for more immersion, a mouse and keyboard allow for more precision. PC gaming is the best gaming experience you can get, yes money is an issue and that's where consoles come in, but we still get bragging rights.

Yes it is Superfluous, because we don't NEED the 8gb of RAM. If we did need it none of the games for Xbox 360 would actually be playable on a 360. I would also just like to point out that from what I can see none of the games on Xbox One play any better, look any or better, or run any better on Xbox One than their Xbox 360 equivalents do on Xbox 360.

How do you know the S is better than the switch if the switch hasn't been released yet? I would say your choice depends on circumstances, like deciding if you want a dedicated stationary gaming console that is made for more hardcore games like Halo or Gears of War with high performance, or do you want a portable, more lay back (most likely less powerful given the size) gaming experience with Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda?

I doubt that a console under 1000$ will be able to do that. Most PCs are struggling with 4k especially if you want 60 fps.

Yet to buy an Xbone. Still not convinced its a viable quick play gaming option for me. Will stick to my 360 at the moment. This might tip me though in the future, with it being smaller and more sleek. Its like the Elite version of the 360. At least, I hope so. Lazyy Reaper Wrong, if you looked it says "0% used" that means that there is NO games installed. All Xbox did the same : The 500 gb version is ~ 350 gb, and the 1 TB is actually ~ 740 gb and then the 2 TB version will actually be 1.6 TB . I know that because I actually own the 500 gb version and after that I bought the 1 Tb version. It's never the actual amount of space that they say because when you turn on the Xbox for the first time you need to download a pretty massive update for the system !

I don't see a significant difference in graphics. Their exclusives are the only things that matter. I can play on a pc, xbone, or a ps4 just fine. That said, I'm going for ps4 for the exclusives (uncharted, ratchet & clank, no man's sky etc.)

According to Microsoft all consoles including Scorpio will play all Xbox one and backward compatible games also the controllers will work on all 3 my XB1 controller works on the S console you just have to plug it in with a micro USB to link it then your good To go wirelessly so it's all good !

The fact I just bought an Xbox one with Kinect for 120 bucks. Pretty much got a hell of a deal
It's basically the same upgrade than the ps4, 4k support, more potent processor and more space on disc. The one s beats the pro in memory and size, which is nice but feel like the design was very minimalistic. The stand up position looks nice.
And the actual button was much needed, I remember turning on my Xbox 360 every time I cleaned it.

My old 360 slim would turn on when there was alot of moisture in the air. The I recently bought the $249.99 bundle that came with battlefield 1 and I love it. Though it's only 500gb and did not come with a stand :( . But oh well now and can play the new games.

I'm not in the market for any sort of console for the foreseeable future, but I do play games on my pc and picked up a corded xbox-1 controller for this purpose. If I had the choice at the time I may have gone for this fancy 1S controller with its grippy/bluetooth goodness over the dependable corded controller. Just saiyan...
